Sara Snow’s „The Awakening“ marks the start to the new “Bloodmoon Wars” series, which relates events that will (after the series) eventually lead to Ruby’s story (the FMC of her previous “Luna Rising Series”). Despite being a prequel of sorts, “The Awakening” can be perfectly be enjoyed as a stand-alone series, or even better at any point before or after the ‘Luna Rising Series’, because – seriously - why would someone even want to miss the opportunity to enjoy Ruby’s story 😊
Elinor is the first-born of Alpha Grayson, the leader of the Bloodmoon Pack, and as such destined to mate one of her father proposed males and birth powerful werewolves for the pack, to be a Luna, because females according to the Werewolf Council cannot become Alphas. Elinor, however, has not interest at all in that path, she has decided to become a Guardian, and make a reputation as a warrior, instead of being known as the “mother” of her children.
“The Awakening” is a well-written book, with relatable characters, an interesting story-arc, and new twists around the werewolf myth and the proverbial werewolf/vampire feud. Sara Snow possess as fluid and funny written style that helps the characters come alive in every page captivating the reader with likeable characters, interesting settings and a very good paced action. All in one a great addiction to the Luna Rising world, with an easy to follow plot, even for newcomers that are not yet, acquainted to the previous series.
