2nd read: Reading Vlog: https://youtu.be/GCFopiHFdg8 Love the addition of Don and Gilda. Though I don't think they're as well utilized in the series as they could've been, there still a great asset to the team.
Also "Let's join forces" ???!!! If you know, you know. But whaaaat
1st read: This series does it again.
I love the addition of Don and Gilda. While I don't see myself becoming as attached to them as Norman, Emma and Ray, I still think they're a crucial piece of the team and the escape plan.
Mother is so scary. Her calm smiling face is too much for me. But why do I also feel like I kinda like her? Am I the problem? Am I the villain??
K R O N E. OKAY, first of all, her fiendish rape faces were, for me personally, the highlight of this volume. Some of the panels looked like something you can find in an Itou Juinji horror manga. Second, despite having been kinda incompetent for a villain from her introduction, she actually managed to redeem herself in her final moments. She made a difference! I’m so proud. This series doesn’t cease to amaze me. Great job on all the aspects.
Woooow shit is hitting the fan now. It's too bad I found this series so early because I want to keep reading ...
This kind of reminds me of a tamer Attack on Titan or a Deadman Wonderland for nice kids. Very interesting concepts here and a series to keep an eye on.
A Peter Pan retelling like you've NEVER seen before!! Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
The Premise
The pressure is on in The Promised Neverland vol 3!! Newbies Don and Gilda make a HUGE mistake with Mom even though they don't know it at first. I don't blame them at all for doing it though. How different really are they from their elders?! Well really they are miles apart we learn...
Emma, Norman and Ray proceed with their plan, because the outside has got to be checked. They can't just run away without any idea of what they're heading into. Krone is a big problem for them as she knew Gilda was a weak link. I love how these three roll with the setbacks that come their way... The end though is EPIC!!
I don't know how but I end up loving this series MORE after each volume.
The Buzz
Soooooo I am LOVING how Kaiu Shirai's mind works! Mom is so quiet in the previous volume that you would never suspect what is coming... Once I worked out how everything came about I was blown away. The twists are limited in the start of the volume and I sat back and was enjoying how the kids out smarted into stead of were constantly reacting to Mom...!!
It's best you know no more than that but its neat what we learn about the world in The Promised Neverland vol 3. It really ratchets up the tension and put me on tenderhooks. Be prepared to have the next volume sitting next to you so you can immediately grab it to read on and learn what happened after Mom strikes!
The Feels
Oh wow... Don about broke my heart!! He confronts Emma, Noman and Ray... the thing is he knows why they did it. He knows that it comes from a good place. This is self worth causing conflict. It arises naturally from the characters. And I LOVED Emma's response. She rocks!! I want her as a sibling so bad...
Ray! Oh my poor, clever Ray!! He is totally flatfooted in The Promised Neverland vol 3 and yet he buckles down and thinks through it. And these siblings are so in sync!! Norman reacts appropriately too and then Mom does something he NEVER in his wildest dreams would believe she would do. While they know Mom isn't on their side when you've thought of a woman as your mother for a decade its hard to let those beliefs about her go... but this did it. Emma, Norman and Ray won't be able to see her as Mom again.
The Visuals
There is a little boy, Phil who pops up a lot in The Promised Neverland vol 3 and I just love it... he's a bit like an Easter egg you never know what he's involved in. Also make sure to read the notes from Kaiu Shirai as they mention other things in the art that impressed them.
There were several full page frames and a spread that about blew my mind. The creep factor went up a touch in this volume because the twists were huge and graphic. And Mom... Mom is the most creepy of all! All of her frames verge on scary for me!! It's a combination of her actions and the art... Actually you should pay attention to EVERYONE's expressions because they tell you so much, but none more than Mom.
The Promised Neverland vol 3 is a great installment in the series... you are seduced by the lull as Emma, Norman and Ray were... It's never good to have too many in the know. But they'll have to work with what they have to beat Mom... she's as smart as they are and maybe... smarter?! You've got to pick up The Promised Neverland series if you haven't already, its a tripy read!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Authenticity ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tension ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Art
This is a multi-volume series and there may be references to the plot of those volumes... SO READ WITH CARE! Here is my review of 1 | 2 | 3 |

This is basically an extention of volume 2, and moves the plot forward, but not in a major way till the very end.
Emma and co are getting close to their plan. This is mostly setting up every single piece to escape from the farm. But just when you think one of the Sisters has gotten a leg up on the kids we find out the truth. Will Emma and her friends be able to finish their plans or is it too late and the monsters will get them all.
While not as gripping or mindblowing as the previous two volumes I still enjoyed it. I liked the plot progression at the end and some shocking moments did occur there. I also like Ray and his ways here. I thought the other Sister storyline could have wrapped up a bit better, even if it surprised me. I also think the idea of escape is taking a bit long to get to.
What is with that ending?? So many revelations in this one. So much creepy! And I have a feeling that series are only going to get better from now on. If that's even possible.
Chapter 17. The Secret Room and William Minerva, Part 2 Don and Gilda are curious kids! It is extremely creepy thinking that they went into this scary situation. What if they get caught! It is also good to know that Emma notice the owls on the book and now Norman is able to decipher that they are message to them! How great.
Chapter 18. Prepared OMG. Don and Gilda finally know. And now I understand how they are able to escape from Isabella's secret room. I was not able to understand it from the anime but now I do thank goodness. Krone is just a scary obsessive freak. 😁 But now it is satisfying that more and more children are knowing the truth. ☺️☺️
Chapter 19. Doomed It is so touching how everyone apologize to each other. Don and Gilda are also really sweet to be this cooperative. Trusting friends have its benefits too. Well only those good ones. But yeah finally some burdens are lifted. Also sister Krone is getting impatient and obsess with finding evidence. She is creepy just popping out from the trees! 😁
Chapter 20. Alliance Krone is very determined. Her sneaking like that is creepy. Though she does have a point when it comes to the alliance she is offering. The amazing part is Norman thinks way ahead for their benefit. These kids are just way more mature for their age. It's fantastic!
Chapter 21. Blatant Trap Gosh! If only Norman ans Emma had thought of their reaction ahead! Sister Krone is really something. They are indeed trained well when it comes to the physical reaction and stuff. Still the kids are safe. Well at least Krone does not have the authority to do harm to them.
Chapter 22. Bait Finally. OMG. Ray finally got the last piece for his invention to disable the tracking device. Thank goodness. Still they need to be wary of Sister Krone searching and looking for evidence. Though Ray find a way to hide his inventions really well. I don’t remember seeing it on the anime. But oh well that is the beauty of manga because we find some things that aren’t on the anime. The letter at the end is the thrilling part.
Chapter 23. Destroy! It indeed seems so good to be true for Sister Krone to be appointed as Mom that quickly. It is all a trap. I know she is being gaga and desperate but I feel sorry for her. It's sad. Thank goodness she made a move to help the kids before she went to the gate. Gosh. Everything is getting so exciting and scary. The children will need to deal with this themselves OMG.
Chapter 24. Inspection, Part 1 Oh No! What a difficult situation for Ray. My gosh. Isabella really is a sneaky b*tch. Though I know she is smart but OMG she was able to figure it out. The part where Ray open the door is diffirent from anime though. It's just what I notice. 😁 My gosh mom found them out. This situation is getting worst each chapter and they were not able to inspect yet!
Chapter 25. Inspection, Part 2 My gosh!! Isabella is dispecable! My gosh! I just hate her at this moment. I know she is just being disperate to "protect". I have no idea what she meant by "protect". So annoying. And she broke Emma's foot! Gosh evil. Pure evil. 😤😤
Diarias. No digo más. Ray no me cae bien. Asco. Mucho. Muchísimo. Me da pena.
✴✵❇ 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒫𝓇𝑜𝓂𝒾𝓈𝑒𝒹 𝒩𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 ❇✵✴ Emma, Ray, and Norman are in a hurry to find Gilda and Don before they are caught sneaking into Mother's hidden room. There, they realise that Emma, Ray, and Norman have not been telling them the complete truth. Meanwhile, Krone strikes a deal with the children in hopes of undermining Mother. The spy cannot be a double agent forever, and he must pick a side before time runs out. A game of cat and mouse is not as easy when both sides are playing each other in a twisted game to break free from their predetermined fate.
The Promised Neverland Three is as good as the past two books, heightening the stakes with intelligent moves. I love how this story consistently stays interesting without ever feeling stale and repetitive. The writing style is very stylized, making every single character have a distinct design. I love that our cast of characters isn't specifically one race, with some characters being White, Black, Asian and more. The characters are also a range of different ages, something that adds to the diversity of the cast. Our protagonists all have very different personalities. A commonality between our three main protagonists is that they are all highly intelligent and strategic people.
I love that Emma is always selfless, kind, and empathetic. Ray is cold, perceptive, and sharp. Norman is strategic, quick-witted, and a mastermind. I enjoyed getting to know Don better. Don is a very driven, strong, and loyal person who will definitely play a bigger part in the story later. Gilda was a nice character but not necessarily a strong one. I hope to get to learn more about her and see what she has to offer the plot. All together, the characters are easy to get attached to. I always feel so tense and scared about what might happen to them.
This story reintroduces a small glimpse of horror elements to keep the tone the same. What was absent from book two were the more violent panels, which were briefly shown. Sister Krone was a character who had a brief character introduction, but one that changed how I viewed her as a person. It is interesting to see pieces of humanity painted onto the antagonists. This helps us see that fear is what drives them to make the decisions they do. What sets Emma apart from them is that she uses her fear and channels it into her love, which ultimately drives her.
The ending was non-stop but plot twist after plot twist. Things are looking good for this series, and I'm very excited to continue! ✅PLOT ✅CHARACTERS ✅PLOT TWIST
Emma, Norman and Ray suffer some setbacks. The escape from the farm is not as trouble-free as they initially thought it would be. Simultaneously sister Krone is close on their heel ... will they be able to escape? And if yes, are there any humans left outside? Mother Isabella is surrounded by composure and serenity, you cannot know how dangerous she may be. This is just the third volume and there were already so many twists and turns, it keeps you guessing.
Yenə möhtəşəm bir cild oldu, sonlara doğru həyəcandan ölmək üzrə idim❤️
Bu cilddə Grace Field evindən kənardakı dünya barəsində biraz daha məlumat əldə etmiş oluruq və Krone hər nə qədər nifrət oyadan bir obraz olsa da, onun bilmədiyimiz tərəflərini tanımış oluruq. Kitabın sonunda həyəcan o qədər yüksəldi ki, sonrakı cildi oxumamaq üçün özümü zor saxlayıram, bu seriya həqiqətən ən sevdiyim manga seriyası olmağa aday oldu😍👌🏻
