Every secret has a price.

It’s a truth that Angel knows too well. Since the hellhounds and infected started to roam, Angel has guarded her secret carefully. But, she’s growing weaker by the day and needs help. In this new plague-ravaged world, the weak don’t survive long, and the useless are quickly abandoned. That’s why Angel’s secret needs to stay secret. If anyone found out about the baby she carried, they’d ditch her in a heartbeat to save themselves.

To make herself an asset, she offers her services as a relationship expert to one of the dark fey, who rose with the hellhounds, in exchange for food. Shax is eager to win over Hannah, and if Angel can help make that happen, just maybe she won’t be kicked out when she has the baby.

Falling for her "client" was never in her plans.

Angel's story was not as intriguing as Mya or Cassie's, but it was okay.

I'm curious to read the next book in this series. Whose story will be next, Brennda or Hannah?

I just have one minor problem with this series. There is no diversity. Where are my Latinas/ Latinos, Blacks, Asians, Natives, Caribbean is a long stretch. Women in their 30s, 40s, come on! What about people who have a disability. Romance for everyone! I want to read about a different heroine for a change. That would add spice to the story. I can only hope.

Looking forward to the next book.

4.5 stars — Oh, look at that. I started it at bedtime and stayed up until after 3am finishing it. Damn this series is addicting. I’m sad I’m all caught up now.

I loved that this one gave us yet again a different kind of heroine, looking for different things. It was so refreshing that Angel wasn’t clouded by fear of the fae, but actually understood their importance and could look back on their appearance to see their kindness (and hotness). She was also kind of sex positive…it was refreshing that she was all in for the loving, just felt like she couldn’t have it because of the secret she was protecting.

And OMG, Angel was fucking hilarious. I loved how (perhaps because of the hormones), she could see the lighter side of things in such a grim world. And she could be fierce too, though her mouth mostly just got her into trouble.

Shax was as adorable as I’d expected, but also more fierce than I’d expected. Dude has a serious jealous/possessive side! But I guess I could kind of see how it would stem from insecurity, since he was having problems with his love life.

I adored the romance between Angel and Shax, even though it was mired in misunderstandings/miscommunication, which is usually not my favourite. But they had great chemistry with one another, and when they finally figured things out, I just melted.

Parts of the plot completely caught me off guard! I did not expect the roommates situation, and while their entitled attitude was somewhat realistic, at times I felt like it was also over the top. Or else I just didn’t get to see more of the good people. I LOVED Garrett though. He was a fun addition, and I’m kind of bummed that we won’t get to see his (or Ryan’s) love story as a book, since, you know, no female fae.

This one also let us in on the lives of our previous couples, which was delightful. They still make me laugh. And OMG, there are so many little background plots that have me so intrigued! I can’t wait for more books to find out what is happening. I need them, like, NOW.

So yeah. Stupidly addicting series, filled with laughs and action and swooniness. And I think this is my favourite so far!

I was not feeling Angel at all at the beginning of this book, but after a few chapters, I was totally sold and completely respected her. I loved her view and perspective of the fey which was different than all of the other women so far in this series. Plus the build up in this one was phenomenal. I really think this one may be my absolute favorite out of all of them in this series so far.

Am I capable of being objective in my review of this series anymore? Honest answer: probably not. I just love it too much. It contains all the tropes in the exact right combination that give it a direct first class ride to my happy place. More succinctly put; I love it and want it’s babies. Or more accurately I want the world to end by evil hell hounds who turn people into zombies so that I can be rescued and adored by a big grey Fey warrior. The feminist within me is banging her head against a big grey wall of muscle (and coping a feel).

And, I admit it is the delicious heroes combined with it feeling like the paranormal romance version of the Walking Dead – one of my favourite TV series – that has me adoring these books. The heroes in this series have the innocent savage vibe going on, which is a character type that has me insta-loving all heroes. The fey are fierce and powerful warriors but until recently they lived in an all male society and women/sex is a very recent discovery for them. Much to their delight. Haag manages to make them ‘innocently’ lustful. They want nothing more than to find a woman and worship her in all ways and they aren’t shy about asking how to do it, which is a great source of both humour and indecent levels of adorable. How Haag makes them both so lusty and so non-threatening (unless you’re a zombie or a hellhound) is genius.

But, it isn’t just the heroes that I love about this series, and Demon Night in particular is a great demonstration of what I find so enticing. The on-going battle to survive the ever evolving zombies and the relentless hellhounds keeps the pace of the story going, not just on an individual book level, but a series level as well. The mortal peril of being attacked looms over everyone, but as the series goes on there is also the more basic things like finding food and a safe place to shelter. This was an issue that was explored really well in Demon Night; never have I been so tense about canned food.

This was a great book in this series, I read it in one sitting and now I am eagerly anticipating the next book. If you want a paranormal romance which is full of humour, survival and heroes that have you day dreaming about the apocalypse then you need to give this book a try.

I am so in love with this world. Every time I visit it, I dread having to leave it. Demon Night is another book in the Resurrection Chronicles. If you like zombies and romance, then this book is for you. Honestly, this series is so much more than that. The writing style and world building is so flipping amazing that I cannot even put into words how much I love it.
This book can technically be read as a stand alone, but I suggest you read the entire series to get the full experience. Demon Night, while living in the same world with the same overall plot, has it’s own unique plot that will keep you guessing. What would you do to survive? Would you keep the biggest secret in order to keep the ones you love safe? Would you be willing to take a chance on something new? These questions are all asked and answered in this book for our main character.
Angel is such a strong character. Seriously, she has a difficult situation, but she is making the best out of it. I love that while she has this huge secret and she is trying to keep herself alive, she also has a very open mind. She is willing to take a look at the bigger picture and see life for what it really is. Then you have Shax. He is such a sweet fey. Is he deadly and fierce? Yes. Does he also show a level of caring that most humans do not possess? Also, yes. I love all the fey, but I think Shax is my favorite.
The chemistry in this book is great. While it is not obvious at first, the chemistry heats up the more “lessons” are given. This is not a tame book that is for sure. There is tons of raunchy scenes that will make the most seasoned lover blush. I really enjoyed the aspect of this book.
The writing style is amazing as usual. I am so in love with this world. I am DYING to get the next book. There are so many fey that this world could go on forever and I would STILL devour them quickly. The pace of this story is steady. There are twists and turns in this story. I bet this one will surprise you.
In conclusion, I am in love with this series. Demon Night is just another book in a line of amazing books. If you like your story with humor and heat, but also some seriousness thrown in, then this is the book for you. I would one hundred percent recommend this book to others.

I love Shax 🥰

Demon Night is another fun read in this series and I really enjoyed it, I cannot believe this is number six! Shax has been in the background for lots of the other books and I loved getting to know him better as Angel turns his world upside down. Angel is a wonderful character and I love that her story is so different from the others, the author keeps bringing something new to the series and while there isn’t as much action in this one, i still couldn’t put it down and I laughed so much. We get some answers in this book, lots more questions about what might happen next and meet some new characters which I’m hoping will get their own stories as the series continues to expand. Fans will love this one! 5 stars 😁

3.5 stars that I rounded up to 4. This continues to be a good series. But it’s just that. Good. Cute. It’s nothing stellar. But that’s not to say it’s bad in any way. It IS still good and I did round up to 4 stars (4 & 5 stars for me are reread worthy, while 3 is just entertaining but not worth revisiting years later).

Angel and Shax were a cute romantic development. I like that they weren’t initially interested in each other, but instead it slowly grew and then caused its own complications they weren’t ready for. I kinda wish there was more to these stories though, like a villain to fight, but instead it’s all about surviving in this zombie-like post apocalyptic world, which I do like reading about and the author handles it well. There’s conflict with the infected always attacking or breaking in (and they are evolving and getting smarter too) and there’s conflict between the fey camp and the human camp. But I like having a villain to defeat. Still, i read it in one sitting, so it was a pretty good book. Curious to see what (who) comes next. Hoping it’s the archer woman who was manning the wall.

Another entertaining addition to the hellhound ravaged world that M.J. created. Going into this one I was skeptical (yet again) about how Angel's story would play out and whether I would still find the storyline interesting after reading the first 5 books back to back.
I liked Angel from the get-go, she was cool, calm and funny. I especially loved how laid back she was and accepting of the Fey. One of my top MFC in the resurrection series.
The author was able to pull anger out of me while reading some scenes, and that's always a good sign when a reader is able to have such strong feelings during a scene. It means that the book was well-written in such a way to evoke emotions in readers. Well done!

I love how there is an actual plot and it happens to be post-apocalytic survival (my favourite genre of entertainment, both books and movies).

The series is not for readers who are looking for erotic stories since there is a lot of buildup before actually reading the sex scenes toward the 85 - 90 % mark. Erotic books aren't my thing, but I do love mild romance and I think Melissa Haag always delivers on that front.

This book is LIFE!! gets you laughing hardcore in this apocalypse universe!

Hilariously funny!!! Yes its a zombie apocalypse but this one had so much love ,life and humor!! You don’t have to read the other stories within this series (enough backstory in the beginning) but i highly encourage it!! They are so good! Our heroine Angel here is the best so far! I mean she really brought her game on. One sassy hilarious pregnant girl! All her crazy shenanigans: from offering love advised, kissing techniques and “friends with benefits “ 🤣. She was the most down to earth and real friend to the “Fey” aka demons who are fierce and protective of the women they meet. She showed genuine kindness and respect beyond words. It was so easy to fall in love with her. Here is the Blurb: She has a major crush on Shax the demon who likes Hanna but Hanna likes booze only. Thanks to Angel’s lovable sassy personality she makes Shax and everyone head over heels in no time. Including myself!! Must Read! Zombies, hellhounds and sexy demons for days! #GirlCrush

A new one to love...

And I'm not just talking about the book. I was not expecting Angel to be sweet, but there is just not another way to describe her. This book was more mellow, and more of a break from the infected, but not without its turmoil. The infected are continuing to become smarter and the hell hounds, more determined.
Best of all, the author, MJ Haag, is not quite ready to close the series, so more Fey to love are coming!

I am charmed by each fey as he grows and learns what it is to love and live above ground, among the humans they protect. They are so innocent in their knowledge of women and how the heart works. When they fall, they fall completely, and most of the time, the path isn't simple or clear. But they each steal my heart as much as the last.

In this one we find a young woman who is looking for safety not only for herself but the secret she carries within her. She knows from experience that there is no room for someone who can't carry her or his own weight, but she's trying to protect two lives now. When she moves into the compound and tries to find a way to fit in, she discovers she might have a talent for giving advice and helping the fey to find love. Enter Shax who has been trying to win the affections of a certain woman in all of the wrong ways. Angel decides to help him and in the process, finds a friend who cares about her in ways she never believe possible. What will she do when her fear of the fey changes into something else, something she that has the potential of being more than friendship?

These characters are mesmerizing and delightful in their innocence. They have no filters and end up making me laugh more than anything else. But the fey have hearts that are so huge, I can't help but fall in love with each one the author introduces. They're protective and possessive, and when they find the one they want, they're all in. I don't know where she comes up with the situations and antice these fey experience, but this is a world that is as much inspiring as it is frightening. And I'm never ready for the story to end.

With Demon Night, MJ Haag once again delivers a funny, entertaining, and suspenseful look into the lives of the survivors of the hellhound, infected, and fey explosion onto the Earth's surface. Angel wants everyone to view her as just another survivor, doing what she can to stay alive. But she knows that she has to change what she's doing in order to make that happen and to keep promises she made. She strikes a deal with her own personal devil, Shax, but doesn't anticipate the complications that result from their involvement and scheming together. Making friends and staying alive shouldn't be so hard, but Haag keeps readers laughing and rooting for the fey and the women in their lives. Great addition to the Resurrection Chronicles!

I have been eagerly awaiting this book! It did not disappoint!

Angel left Whiteman to live with Mya's group and the fey at Tolerance. She wanted to be closer to the only individual (Mrs. Felds) with medical knowledge as the birth of her baby approached.

Shax is pining for Hannah, yet she has no interest in him. Angel decides to help Shax gain Hannah's attention - but can she do it without falling for him herself? Will Shax still want Hannah once he has Angel's attention? Add in another encampment coming to stay, fights, stolen food....what else must Tolerance endure? Can Angel and Shax come together regardless of the chaos surrounding them?

Read and find out!

I really enjoy this series more and more with every book. Spoiler alert - Mya was preggers -not at all shocking! Figured that pretty immediately when she started getting ill.

Angel's perspective on the post apocalyptic world was a nice change. I like that she viewed everything as a deal - you do this, I give you this. She didn't expect anything handed to her and didn't like that perception that others had that that is who she was.

I respect this series for strong female leads in the face of the alpha type men in their lives. Who really holds the power? What they show - It's a team, it takes both sides to make their relationship and this new world work.

Awesome series!

I’ve read them all now and my warning is, don’t start the series if you have commitments. It is hard to put down. I’m not much into mythical or sci-fi but love apocalyptic books with lots romance and of course great sex!
However, I was running out of my fav apocalypse books and authors and decided to give these a try. I’m so glad I did!!!
I hope this series never ends,, I want all the fey to find love! They are so adorably sexy and funny.. my hats off to M.J. on this fantastic series. Now I have to wait until October for the latest fey book! Ugh!,, I’ll try her other books in hopes that they’ll be equally as good. Keep righting about these guys MJ!

Every new book in this series becomes my new favourite and this book did not disappoint! I love the dynamics between Angel and Shax. It’s funny, quirky, laugh out loud and sweet. The overall flowing storyline is fantastic but the snippets of each new relationship is exciting. There were some heart stopping moments and I was nearly close to tears at one point but the action packed and exciting storyline keeps you from sleep and wanting more! Can’t wait to see what’s to come next.
A MUST READ!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Well interestingly enough I got hooked on the story before realising I read the first 3 books in the series, so I was pretty much in the loop of what was happening.
We have a pregnant woman and some humans that believe kids are a luxury you can't afford during the apocalypse. So she hides it. Next, we have some very good looking underworld elves that are unwavering in their devotion to the females.
She helps him learn how to woo the woman he wants until they both start to desire each other. It was fun with just a dash of drama and adventure.

OMG this was the funniest book in the series thus far. Angel lived in constant fear of her secret getting out both at Whiteman and at Tolerance. She was meek and miserable at Whiteman, but once she got to Tolerance, though she insisted on hiding her secret, we got to see her witty and ebullient personality. She cracked me up throughout the entire book. I also loved how she tried to get Hannah to like Shax, all the while falling so hard for him, herself. This is yet another birth that I am excitedly awaiting.

New couple alert

Every time Melissa writes another book in this series I think "There's no way this one is going to be as good as the first or the subsequent books." I'll let you in on a secret, I think she likes to prove me wrong! Every book ends with me having a new favorite couple. I love the humor and humanity in these characters. I love that the author stays true to previous characters. It's a definite must read.

Just keeps getting better!

She has done it again. This world is one of my favourites ever. It’s got just the right about of suspense and action with all the juicy steamy bits just making it perfect. I love how angel and shaxs story developed and how completely oblivious they are to each other. I genuinely cannot wait till the next series. I really really hope it’s Brenna’s or Hannah’s story next because those two and the outcast fey would just be the icing on the cake!

Angel’s story gutted me, to experience what was happening and still hold it together. This was a low point for humanity and death was to good for the “other” survivors. I literally devoured this book it, I was just lost into the story. So much happened in such a small time span. Ms. Haag really knows how to pack it in there. This book is a must read, all the feels, great character development. I loved seeing old character and the new that was happening in their lives.

Hilarious!

This book has it all. Seriously.
Angel is a strong, funny female kind enough to help teach Shax how to win another woman’s heart, believing hers to be off the table since she is pregnant. Shax is a huge male who is incredibly naive when it comes to women, but fiercely protective and loyal to those he cares about. Hilarity ensues as Angel ‘teaches’ Shax using practical experience.
You will certainly fall in love... But will they...?

This is an awesome series. I have enjoyed each one. The Fey, the Hounds, the Survivors, and the complications they all bring. I absolutely love how the women teach the Fey… and how innocent and stubborn they can be at the same time. I keep saying these books can’t get any better and then they do! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Gah. This may be one of my favorites so far! I adore Shax and his cluelessness. His desire for a baby is seriously an ovary explosion. Such a beautiful, well written story!

Loved this one!

This story was a fun one to read. I laughed quite a few times. I even cried once, but it turned out happy. I love the possessiveness of the fey. They are the sweetest and most inquisitive bunch of grey fey men, that are really funny sometimes. You can't help but laugh.

Funny, sweet, sad

A tale of human survival and life after the end of the world, how some humans just suck, and how demons sometimes make better people than people. I loved it! I can't wait for the next one!
