Overall, a decent introduction to the subject for those unfamiliar. However, if the reader has experience with works in the same field, especially the US ones, might feel like a recounting of known information. Reminded me of Victor Ray's On Critical Race Theory, and perhaps McMillan Cottom's Thick, especially when it comes to the description and notes on the stereotypes for black women. Touches broadly on the ideas of "colorblindness", decolonization, and intersectionality; the topics that have been meticulously inspected in the US social justice literature over the last few years. Provides a French point of view, sure, but I would not say those parts are enough to make it stand out against similar works. As I said, a great "broad" intro for those who do not know much about the modern discourse on race.
