I was provided with an E-book by the author in exchange of an honest review last year and unfortunately I could not get to the book earlier but I am glad I finally did. This is the second entry in “The Oncoming Storm” series which apparently has 7 books now. I am happy readers are liking it and allowing the author to write more books.

So this follows the events of last book after a year approximately. When a whole new civilization sails right into the harbor, the oncoming storm finds herself in a lot of trouble and is targeted but she does not know by whom.

I feel like I stand somewhere in the middle when it comes to the story, the writing for example, is easy to follow and the chapters were short and I like that. However, I don’t think the first person POV is a wise choice for the story just because the protagonist sometimes says not so bright things and she does not want to get into more trouble but she wants to satisfy her curiosity by getting into all kind of problems.

The characters were okay for me, I think Liam is my favorite and he is having an existential crisis in this book. The Oncoming Storm and Shade did not progress much in this story which kind of irks me because I know they have the potential to do so. I like the idea of having different guilds and masters for them because not only it enhances the world-building but it makes the story more exciting and open all kind of possibilities. the Oncoming Storm belongs to the thief guild but I think she does more killing than stealing and she should have been in the assassin’s guild in my opinion. The second thing I did not like was when she decides to kill two innocent people to save her friend fully aware of the facts that they are innocent. I don’t think that makes her morally gray and it makes her rude and mean!

The plot was enjoyable but it felt kind of similar to that one of the first book. There was also the problem of repetition from the protagonist getting unconscious to her plunging into water. Threatening her with her friend too. The dynamic between her and Shade also struggled with the same problem.

The world building is good, as I mentioned above, I am a fan of the guild idea but I still wanted more and I expected to see more of the elves since they seem central to the story and I believe we will get that in the next books.

Summary: I think it was a good book overall but I would have focused on the details a bit more. I feel this kind of had a second book syndrome with the potential to get better with the next books. I don’t think I will be continuing the series not because I don’t think it is bad but because it is too long for me right now and I may change my mind in the future and decide to do so!

I love how action packed and fast to read this series is. Every chapter has you on the edge of your seat. If you like a fast paced fantasy that’s on the shorter side, yet equally enthralling, you’ll definitely enjoy this one. I probably prefer the first instalment plot wise, however there were more moments that added to the depth of the characters development and relationships, especially between Storm, the Master Assassin, and the King. Although I did miss the elves, there weren’t as much of them in this book as I’d hoped. Although I do think this was the right choice in terms of this particular story. I am rather interested to see what the author does to forward the plot in the next book and can't wait to see the relationships develop further and maybe a possible romance flourish.

I also really liked that we got to see more of the city in this one, there were elements that hinted to the wider world in which the story takes place and that was very interesting. Blackwood has a talent for setting the scene and making you feel like you're actually there. Overall this was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more about the Oncoming Storm in future instalments.

Thank you to the author for providing an early copy for review!

4 stars because of Liam. Sorry not sorry. I like him and think he’s a cutie but I can’t stand the constant babying and looking after him all the time. Getting kidnapped twice 🙄c’mon now. We have other lovable characters to give that sort of attention to 😂 I love young King Edward, Master Assassin and Elaran the most. Give me more of them and I’m good but please. Enough Liam whump.

These characters and this amazing world make me so happy. I love it!

Storm goes through so much and is really strong since she's not giving up. A smart-mouth, gifted with blades who stands out. The plot is realistic and I get lost in the story when reading it.

I love the fact that it's just one point of view. So refreshing. Book 3, here I come!

TITLE: A Storm of Shadows and Pearls
AUTHOR: Marion Blackwood
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
GENRE: YA Fantasy
SERIES: The Oncoming Storm-Book 2/7
CAWPILE: 8.57

Such a great sequel! This really proves this is a series I am so invested in and can’t wait to read more of. The next book sounds even better so I’m so excited to get to it, along with the others, in January.

I love Storm, our main character. I’ve loved following her from the beginning. She is such an exciting person to follow through her many adventures. I also love Shade, Bones and the elves. Liam, not so much, but I still don’t mind him. I’m excited to follow our cast of characters more in the next book, and see them explore new worlds! I’m also hoping to get more of the elves in the next book as I really missed them in here.

The plot was always so fast paced and well developed. Stakes felt high as ever and it concluded in an epic style. The Pernulans were an interesting addition to the story, who I also think we haven’t seen the last of.

One of the best things about this series is Blackwood's writing style. I absolutely love it. It keeps me invested and will drag you into the story so easily. I could read her novels forever.

Overall, a cracking read and a superb sequel. Cannot wait for book 3, when I read it in the new year.

Well she did it again folks, another book that i couldn’t put down even if I wanted to. The twists and turns had me glued to my phone screen dying to know what was going to happen next. The character building was so fun to see evolve not only with Storm but with the characters around her. Not to mention the badass fight scenes sprinkled in throughout the book. I cannot wait for the 3rd book to come out so I can see what else Storm has up here sleeve.

I loved this. The bonds between Storm and her guild are clear. So are the bonds between her and the elves. This action packed sequel is exactly what I needed as a follow up. My heart was up and down the entire time. Storms banter and snark is spot on, as always. Shade is bae. If you love Rhys from ACOTAR then you’ll love him. This book is a home run. I need book three!

Marion does it again. I love her books because they are full of action and quick reads. The only thing missing is romance, I’m hoping this comes along soon. Can’t decide if her and shade will be a thing or not.

This is the second installment in the Oncoming Storm series. Usually the second book in a series is either bad or better than the first one and this fell in the second category. We can definitely see some character developments and get even more familiar with the world building. This follows Storm in a mission to save her kingdom as well as herself because the things she did in the past are still haunting her.

I love Storm’s development, she has grown a lot in me especially since she is a badass heroine with a very strong personality. Shade is still a favorite (villain?), and I’m enjoying seeing his interaction with Storm and I’m still hoping that this “friendship” will turn into a hate to love romance. When it comes to romance, we didn’t get much in this book either but I still enjoyed reading the adventures of these lovely characters.

This novel is filled with action, betrayal, amazing friend groups and definitely a fabulous strong female character. And of course, there’s the author’s AMAZING writing style, which she never fails to amaze me. This is a must read, especially for high fantasy fans!

Storm

It took a couple of chapters, but her personality is coming back.

When asked about how she almost died recently, ' yeah. I got shot. And then I fell off a pier. And then knifed, and there at the end I almost got skewered too.' I just imagine her saying that really nonchalantly.

When asked what the Pernulans are like: '"Oh, uhmn," I began because I'm not exactly an expert on people. "They're okay, I guess." I finished with an uncertain shrug.

Lol, Elaran's response is to roll him eyes and tell her how informative she is...as usual. Then he grills her with questions to which she's able to answer because she snooped in on their first meeting with the king. Lol, I don't think it was an act either. She heard the 'what are they like' question and answered that the best she knew how.

This is what I like - she goes into Shade's bar looking for him, and she's immediately met with threats and has to convince them that Shade asked her to come. He just watches the whole thing play out. "You sat here watching? The whole time? While I was over there with a sword at my throat?" She just calls it out. No beating around the bush or swallowing her questions. Just out with it. And his response: "Yep."

Shade threw a knife at her after she said she could hit him from across the room. Is this how the flirting starts? I have no clue if or when ln there will be love in this story.

'“You know,” I said as I lined them up behind my shoulders, “if I really wanted to throw a knife at you, I could do it from across the room.” A sharp thud rang out and made me jerk in surprise. Glancing down, I saw a short knife protrude from the wooden fence. It was located roughly a finger’s length from my left kneecap. The Master Assassin put his hand back on the table and offered me a quick rise and fall of his eyebrows as an amused come-try-it look settled on his face. “Bet you could.”'

When she leaves: 'I could feel their eyes burning holes in my back, but thanks to my rather impressive self-control, I managed to reach the front door without turning to look behind.'

She mocks a woman for being wooed at being called beautiful and elegant... it would be funny if later she's wooed by the same words...

Her outburst at being attacked again... I get it, lol. How many times has she already been attacked in this book?

Her darkness... I don't know what this is, but I've heard it a couple of times now. I assumed it just meant that she got into her fighting stance, but I'm starting to think there's more to it. Once, she said her eyes turned black. Like, literally?

I really like the characters in this story, and I just realized how well they've built up different skill sets that, for example, Storm and Liam have. Everyone loves him, and he's great at charming his way out of a situation, but he's not a fighter. She, on the other hand, is a bit blunt with people but very good at sneaking and fighting. Further, they both acknowledge their own strengths and weaknesses in this situation. Things like this aren't normally touched in these stories.

'Well, wasn’t that just ingenious? I mean, absolutely infuriating for me because I’d fallen for it, but I couldn’t deny that he was incredibly cunning. And in my book, that wasn’t necessarily a bad trait. I might even find it a bit attractive.'

Well, the whole big plot of this book is that someone is trying to kill her. It was the father of Rogue, who she killed in the last book. And Eric, the father, has been made surprisingly human. Like, I've only met him, and I agree with him that she deserves to die/or something for killing his son... and she sees that too.

I've haven't had anything to say in a while. It's still very good. It's not as good as book 1. I think she was at her brightest when she was exploring new land and meeting new people. I think being so focused within the city too is just a little less exciting. Maybe it's the magic of the elves coupled with her new surroundings that really made book 1 sparkle. But I'm enjoying seeing her friendship with Liam get fleshed out more. I want to see her get closer to Shade. I see the potential there. If there is love in this story it will be the slowest burn I've ever read.

I wasn't expecting her to show up to the Farh's with friends in hiding. That was good. And she didn't tell me she was doing that!!! She told me she was showing up with 1 knife. That's it.

I love that she hates a chair.

I think this is why I like her and probably why I relate to her. She's the humor in all of it. No matter how hard or painful it is she can still see the small and inconsequential things that happen and exist around her.
She hates the chair. Shade says she's better at killing than hauling buckets. 'How could anyone be bad at hauling buckets', she thought. I guess maybe she knows not to take it all so seriously. Yes, she's so good at her skill that she doesn't have to think about it and it leaves her room to see the small meaningless things and ask serious questions about it as though it has meaning, and hold a grudge against it. Also, she just kind of takes everything as it comes. She doesn't really dwell on things (aside from the chair), and she can see the levity in the small things.

On Shade and Eleran's greeting - 'Before they could get into a very evenly matched fight about who was the grumpiest...'

Liam wants to stay out of the blood and the screams. Not often do I see a character like that.

This is it: 'Despite the serious atmosphere, I wanted to chuckle. If this wasn’t the biggest and most high-stakes game of chicken I’d even seen, I didn’t know what was.'

Another great book. Not as high as book 1, but 4.75 easy, and rounding up.

After reading this book, I wanted to write and post this review to share my honest experiences toward the story.
Wow, just as amazing and engaging as the first. Ms Blackwood clearly knows how to weave a story together in the best possible way and has perfected the combination of excellent characters, snarky banter, a thick and twisting plot, and new developments at each turn, to create a literary hit. I have truly enjoyed reading this, and look forward to seeing how the series will continue.

First of all, thank you to Marion Blackwood for another wonderful ARC copy. I loved A Storm of Silver and Ash and was ecstatic to learn that she had written a sequel! And now there will be a third...!

A Storm of Shadows and Pearls picks up a short time after book one ends - Edward has become king, the citizens of Keutunan and the elves of Tkeideru have developed a fledgling friendship, and the Oncoming Storm is still the sassy thief she’s always been. Except now she’s in trouble. Someone has her in their sights, and they won’t stop until she’s dead. With so many suspects and little information, Storm finds herself mixed up in something no one is prepared for.

I loved that right from the first chapter you can tell that this book continues to build upon the expanding world theme from book one. In Silver and Ash, Storm and the rest of her known world discover the elves, and in Shadows and Pearls they receive visitors from another continent. Blackwood does a great job setting up these Pernulans as “others” - they have a different language, advanced technology, and trade in pearls instead of silver. At times I found myself imagining them as a different species altogether which proves just how alien Blackwood makes these visitors seem. The question remains, however - are they friend or foe?

The Oncoming Storm hasn’t missed a beat. She’s still a prominent thief in her guild, is best friends with Liam, and has remained friends with the elves she met in book one. Her sass and courage remain at humorously high levels - until the attacks begin. A series of dangers force her from the world she knew, and we get to see her grow by crafting new, dangerous plans and teaming up with individuals we wouldn’t quite expect. Compared to Silver and Ash, Storm grows at home this time. The trials she endures force her to seek new allies, protect herself more viciously than before, and think about her future in Keutunan on a grander scale.

Blackwood also steps up the action in Shadows and Pearls! There are several detailed fight sequences that I adored because we’re walked through Storm’s actions. Every flick of her blades and slash she dodges are captured on the pages, and it’s easy to picture the fight unfolding in front of you.

I loved the ongoing partnership with Shade, Master of the Assassin’s guild. While I won’t divulge my theories about him here, I will say that we start to see the man beneath the cloak. Storm and Shade share moments of serious planning, teamwork, and teasing that lie somewhere between a tense truce and true friendship. Both amusing and comforting, the connection that both of them forge with each other adds new depth to their characters, leading to the best teaming up sequence I’ve read in a while!

Thankfully we don’t have too long to wait until book three, A Storm of Smoke and Flame, releases later this year.

I received a copy of this e-book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for it.
Damn, she did it again. I was constantly biting mail nails, holding my breath, throwing my Kindle away (okay, only carefully, because it is still one of my best friend), because I simply could not handle this much excitement.
We already know and love (well, I do for sure) the Oncoming Storm. She barely escapes one trouble and finds herself in the next. I have to admit I made very slow progress with this book because after two or three chapters I had to put it down to pause it before the next chapters... my hearth was bounding, I couldn't handle the stress and fear of her getting killed. You played with me, Ms. Blackwood! You played with my emotions, with my mental health, with my blood pressure. I loved it.
So, without spoilers: you can meet all your favorite characters again, but since the first book created and described this world and the characters so well, the second one is a lot more story based, very fast paced, very exciting, full of unexpected twists and turns. While I do not agree on all the choices Storm makes, I still love the fact, that she is not our usual heroine and that she is not naive.
I cannot wait for her journey to go on. I hope she gets a little romance though cause she sure would need it. And more elves please, they are cool :D I am on board for it, for sure.
From now on I will actually read everything Marion Blackwood writes, even if it is her grocery list. She has a wicked style :) Solid 4,5 from me.

(I just have to count how many times "scheming part of my brain" was used in this book. It was a lot. Okay, to be fair, there really is a lot of scheming)

The Oncoming Storm is back! And boy oh boy, she doesn't hold out on us. The second instalment is action packed with scheming, spying, sarcasm and all the fight scenes you could want for (seriously, some of them had me on the edge of my seat). Our brooding Master Assassin is back with all his threats and power plays in tow, along with some of my favourite cast members. Liam is like a precious baby, who I want to protect at all costs. And the elves will never not be my favourite addition to the misfits squad.

I absolutely loved the fact that we're starting to see an expansion outside of Keutunan, and the potential for adventure that this brings. Particularly with the introduction of an outside "civilisation" - not to say they're not already civilised, but now they're not as isolated as they first thought. The Pernulans and their scheming was a nice addition, and I absolutely loved how events from the first book tied into the storyline all the way into the second book (and it's not what you expect!)

One thing I absolutely love about Marion's writing style is that I find it super easy to read along to, and never find myself bored. Her world building is easy to absorb and hold onto, and the intricacies of the different Guilds are well thought out. These books leave me wanting answers to a few things, without the sensation of needing to throw the book at a wall from frustration.

Overall, this was a 5-star read for me, and I'm already making good progress on A Storm of Smoke and Flame (review to come when I'm finished).

I was blessed enough to once again be asked to do an ARC review. I am so grateful and it was an absolute pleasure. I am leaving this review entirely out of my own joy.

A sequel better than the original.

Anyone that reads or engages in any form of media knows that this isn’t a statement you get to say very often. Yet, it is 100% true for this book. There is a wonderful draw to this series and I was thrilled to learn that not only was this book coming but another will come in the future!

We get to explore so much more of the world in this next step and it builds on the previous book brilliantly. There is a lot more details and all of them make sense in the context of both the plot and characterization. The world feels broad in that there is more to learn yet tight around the plot elements.

I love all these characters. Especially the main character who is given a wonderfully broad personality that we can root for while still having very human reactions and responses. She makes mistakes, pays for them but you can’t help but want to be in her corner. Her dialogue both outward and inward gives her a marvelously distinct voice.

All in all, the author spins a brilliant tale that builds upon relationships, settings and characterization established in the first book while also expanding them in an organic and realistic way.

I look to following Oncoming Storm for many more stories to come!

A rare occasion where the sequel lives up to the standard set by the first book. This was an amazing read. I just could not put this book down, it was thrilling and full of plot twists. Besides a dark and twisted story, we continue to follow the characters we became familiar with from book 1, as well as seeing some new faces.

The Oncoming Storm has decided she has had enough of helping other people with their problems. Even as ships from an unknown part of the world dock in the ports of the city, she is adamant that she does not want to get involved. Of course, what we want and what we get are usually two very different things. After several attempts at murdering her failed, she has no choice but to get involved in exactly what she didn't want.

Storm is as sarcastic and rude as she was in book 1, which was really nice to see. Her personality doesn't make her sound likeable, but I really did like her as a heroine of the story. Shade continues to be a mysterious character, it's quite difficult to figure out what his end game is.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I think it could be read without having read it's predecessor, but the story is deeply woven together so I'd highly recommend reading A Storm of Silver and Ashes first. I highly suggest this series, and I really cannot wait until book three is released!

2.75 on mid

a spunky girl, i had fun reading her inner dialogue and doing some world building. If you want something short and fun, some sarcasm and slow world building, free on KU, with no spice, you might enjoy this series.

A review for the first 4 books - slight spoilers
I saw this series all over my tiktok and it's on KU, so I decided to give it a shot. I have read 4 of them so far, they are short and fun and I do like Storm a lot and the world building is fun but man. This was the slowest of "burns" ... even though the "burn" felt platonic and like there really wasn't any sexual tension until like right before they got together. Too slow, not tense enough. Not exciting enough for me to want to read on.

Spoilers

Spoilers - a summary mostly for my personal reference
Some random peeps show up in the village from a far away land. They befriend, teach the island things and ask for help in any upcoming wars. Turns out the peeps are bad guys and want to take over the island. Also, someone has been trying very hard to kill Storm, Shade saves her once. Storm, Shade, and the elves come together and scheme to protect the new king and the island from these foreign invaders. They band together with all of the underworld, bribe the soldiers, and form the invaders back to their own island.

Oftentimes find myself conflicted with this series (of the two books read so far anyway). I enjoy Storm but often am at a loss how she readily gets herself into situations with very little preparation beforehand - considering part of being a thief such as she surely requires a more keen attention to details. Anyhow, it’s an easy read without a need to get bogged down with intricacies since I think questions will easily become apparent eventually - though perhaps are breezed over too easily. My biggest pet peeve is that the descriptive nature of individuals revolves constantly around their hair colour and I’d have enjoyed a bit more time spent developing deeper descriptions of individuals. However, there’s action, it’s easy to read (albeit overseeing the hair focus) and I’ll read the next books in the hopes the descriptions will improve. I will also say, there are a lot of interesting things that crop up that the FMC negotiates within herself to not focus on because she supposedly doesn’t have capacity to, and I cannot tell if that’s to keep our intrigue, or simply because she’s a bit chaotic mentally. I enjoy the banter, I’d just love to see some more relational development between characters too beyond her and Liam.

This series is actually a nice light read (for me). So far I have read the book one, and now I got the opportunity to read the sequel. Book two did took a day to read :D. I just want to know what happens next. Cannot help it.

This is a good sequel to the previous book.

I have to say that you have the proper angry feelings with the foolishness or the braveness of the main characters, and this only means that the writer has done her deed. I went from frustrated to elated a couple of times, but it was worth it :). The book presents another part of the bigger world, with bigger secrets, and I actually will wait to see how it will unravel. I also was very curious to read about the main heroine's development.

I am already looking forward to the next :)

What can I say ? The Oncoming Storm has stolen my heart. I was so excited to continue her story and I can happily say that I was not disappointed. The action and the humor are second to none, and it really made for a great read. My one critic is that the story was a little slow to start but once it did, I couldn't put it down ! I love the relationship between Shade and Storm and I hope to watch it develop into something more..... One can dream right ?
The twist and turns kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat and are the core of the story. We are lead down a road of one possibility and then all of a sudden a twist comes and I'm left with my mouth wide open wondering how did this happen !?
I really do enjoy Marion's writing technique, the use of inner monologue from Storm is entertaining and captivating and down right hilarious. Her personality reminds me very much of myself and helps me truly connect with her.
I cannot wait to follow the story in the next book and see where things go this time !

The second book in The Oncoming Storm series lives up to my expectations from the first and also surpasses them. It's such a pleasure when the second book is just as good or even better than the first.

I admit I missed the elves (I'm a bit in love with them...) and eagerly devoured every mention and encounter of them, and they're the only reason I just slightly prefer the first one. But don't get me wrong, this book perfectly stands on its own merits. The action is even more awesome than in the first book, and there's a familiar comfort of knowing these characters and seeing them evolve and go through more things together.

Also, we get to know certain characters a little better, and I appreciated that. The end of the book was very thrilling and Storm continues to be the exact character, down to breaking of the fourth wall, who made the first book so fantastic.

And, how beautiful is that book cover?? Just like Book I's cover; I love them both. A very well deserved 5 *****

I liked this book as much as the first one. They were both slightly different, this one was way more political but I still loved it a lot.

This book has way more Liam and Storm content and Shade and Storm content so I was really really happy! It also expanded the world and I was so happy with it. I can see so many different possibilities now and I’m just so excited for the rest of the series.

This book has way more action than the first one and I really loved to read. It was clear, fast paced, not boring at all!

There still wasn’t a lot of romance, none actually. I was still disappointed because I really wanted Shade and Storm to just kiss haha but I was still pretty happy with this book!

I would definitely recommend this series and I can’t wait for the third book!

The author kindly sent me this book in exchange of a review and picture but it does not affect my opinion in any way. My thoughts are my own!

Me and my sister have a deal going. If I read three books out of the Oncoming storm series by the end of the year, she’ll read my favorite series, throne of glass.

So here’s a little review:)

2.5 stars ⭐️

Cons:
The writing style. Is. So. Bad. I PULLED myself through this book for my sis, and complained the whole way. There were way to many metaphors, and the sentences DID NOT FLOW. I was disappointed.
The characters. Mostly just Storm. So Storm is supposed to be 20/21 in this book, but she acts like a flipping 17!! She grates on my nerves.
Info dumping should be illegal too.

Pros:
The plot is so exciting! It really picked up halfway through the book (which I was grateful for) and shot like a rocket.
Shade. Is. My. Jam. 🫠 I hope we learn more about him and his ✨interesting✨ past. (Which I don’t know ANYTHING about)

I’m doing this all for my baby sister, (I wish y’all could’ve seen her giant smile when I said I liked it a little bit😭)

So lets read on.

Now we're getting somewhere. The barrier is down an a whole new world is out there. Will the people of Keutunan what to see or will King Edward send just send a select few.? The Oncoming Storm will leave no matter she has a score to settle with the Far Brother's. Will Shade follow? Will the Elvis go with her also?
The Underworld has helped the King save all the people in Keutunan. How will there lives change for helping the King? What will Liam do to change how he feels about his life? An what was it that the Queen Mother saw in Storm???
The Oncoming Storm still needs to know how the Thunder Storm inside her comes out when she is angry. Will she ever know? So lets let the crazy ass knife throwing thief tell her story.
Marion Blackwood brings a great adventure to life.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book and here's my review.

Marion has once again wowed me with her descriptive and honest writing style!
Storm is back in the follow on from book 1 in yet another story full of action, secrets, lies and betrayals.
Newcomers have arrived on the shores of Keutunan on ships the likes of which are much more advanced than the Keutunanians have ever seen, with an offer of friendship and alliance.
Storm finds herself embroiled in a fight, literally for her life and foe those of her friends as events take a twisted turn.
Can they rely on the elves again? Can she rely on Shade and King Edward? Get the book and read it! Trust me, you won't regret getting this stunning page turner!
Can't wait to see where Storm goes next 😍

This is an exciting second installment in this series. Here, Oncoming Storm is again thrown into adventure and political intrigue. The pacing of this story was quick, and as usual with Blackwood's writing, the world building was excellent. We experience the underbelly of this world through the main character's eyes. In other words, we see the world of thieves, assassins, plots, and other elements in the more shadowy parts of the world. What helps with the world building is the strong internal narration. In some chapters, the reader spends a great deal of time in the protagonist's head. In well written books with awesome characters like A Storm of Shadow and Pearls, this is a treat. Highly recommended for fantasy fans.

I was blown away by the first book and can say that this one had the same effect. Fast paced, action packed and full of familiar characters, I couldn’t put it down. It was so good to follow Storm again and see what trouble she got into the time and she did not disappoint!

I loved that we got to see familiar faces and learn a little more about their characters and that we got learn more about the world they live in.

There were a few parts I wished had been fleshed out a bit more and a bit more eluded too but there was so much action and twists that I could overlook it.

If you loved the first book you will love this one too.
