Condemned Complete Series

Rate this book
Please note, this series collection is not available on Amazon.

USA Today bestselling author Gemma James brings you six darkly intense books in one COMPLETE series bundle. Over 1300 pages of action-packed dark romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Reader discretion is advised.

I was fifteen when I sent the love of my life to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Back then Rafe was my brother's best friend and off-limits, but that didn't stop me from drooling over him. I've never forgotten the guy whose green eyes made me weak in the knees.

Rafe hasn't forgotten me either. Eight years later, I find him on my doorstep with revenge on the mind.

The twisted part of this story?

I still want him, even though he's holding me captive on an island. He says I've got eight years of misery to atone for, and every move he makes is designed to shame and punish.

Instead, his touch lights us both on fire.

But the lie I told years ago is ricocheting. Neither of us saw it coming. The violence, death, and betrayal that leave us in ruins. Redemption seems impossible because we can't undo what's been done.

I belong to him as much as he belongs to me, and we'll fight for each other or go down in flames trying.

Includes all 6 books in the Condemned series: Torrent, Rampant, Fervent, Vagrant, Deviant, and Descent.

NOTE TO READERS: Intended for mature readers who enjoy a dark contemporary romance with kidnapping and other disturbing themes. Not for the faint of heart. You've been warned.

I’m throwing in the towel

It’s been over 5 years since I read books 1-4, and I just can’t bring myself to finish 🫠.

2020 Sonia rated these at 4-5 stars, but 2025 would never 💀
So I’m going in the middle now 🤣🤡🫣

A part of me WANTS to finish, to see what happens, because these two have gone through SOOOO MUCH SHIIIIIIT in these books… SOOOO MUCH torture 🥴… SOOOO much death 🫠, so they need a damn HEAAAA!

But I just can’t make myself finish right now 😭🫣🫣🫣

I’ll link my 2020 reviews for books 1-4, but they’re in such a different style than the way I currently write reviews 🤣.

Pandemic Sonia was a different person 🤡
So if you read these reviews, keep that in mind 🤣🫣🫣

5 Brilliant Stars!

Wow! I absolutely loved this gripping series boxed set. It’s one of the best I’ve read. Gemma James is fearless in her writing, she certainly doesn’t shy away from what’s needed to make a story great. I highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

This story follows Alex who told a lie and sent innocent man Rafe to prison. Her friend, her crush and now her enemy

Book 1. Rafe is released and comes to claim vengeance on Alex. When he kidnaps her, he isn’t prepared for the woman she has become

Book 2. Secrets are revealed and she is in more danger than you think. Can he get her back and protect her from the evil. Is she comes clean now will anyone believe her? Will his memory come back in time to help her?

Book 3. Having survived once can they do it again when her past comes and takes them into the belly of the beast. A new threat, one they didn’t see coming. Can they trust anyone but each other? And what will happen when his memory comes back?

Book 4. 6 months feels like a year but she has survived barely. Until Rafe comes back to claim her once again. Will she forgive him? He has done what he needed to to survive but will he be able to leave that life behind? And is she safe?

Book 5. After everything will they be able to make it to the alter? And will they get the happily ever after or do old ghosts reappear to take what they want?

Book 6. What should have been the best day of their life soon becomes a nightmare as her ‘brother’ Zach is back and wants her for his own. Rafe doesn’t really have a choice as someone else, who is important to him has been taken for collateral to ensure he fights on the grudge match. Rafe is in a no win situation but has left her to deal with Zach. She has to be strong, can she overpower him and held save Rafe

Not sure what to say about this series. The premise started out ok but then she asks some stupid arse questions in the beginning (why are you so mean.. erm.. here’s a clue. You lied about being raped by him, he was sent to prison for 8 years and was actually raped.. payback maybe.. just a guess?!)

The series felt long and dragged out to me. It could have been condensed in my opinion. Lots of repetition especially in the sex scenes. Also how bad could their luck get. They get out of one situation only to fall into another... insert face-palm here!

What really got me though was the ending to book 4. She made a decision for both of them and I honestly couldn’t understand the thought process (obviously it’s to drag out the story and makes sense in book 6) but at the time.. nope, just nope! This wasn’t just a one off either. I felt she made stupid decisions repeatedly and I wanted to slap her.

There were other moments that I didn’t enjoy also like the wedding night. It covers ok some dark
Subjects and definitely pushes the boundaries but overall not really for me

Holy shit!

I am truly grateful for the author sending me the complete series so that I was able to take every second I had to spare over the past week! I gobbled up each and every sick, twisted word and wanted more, even though the series ended very, very well. I feel badly for the people who read each book and waited for the next one to come out! I would have lost my mind waiting!

What these characters harbor beneath their skin is entirely more brutal than I could ever convince, though I am not naive when it comes to depravity of the soul and of others. So pointedly bringing the horrors that lurk in our backyards and in the shadows is not easy to do with grace and dignity, but I believe that the author has done well with that. How people are able to wreak such havoc on another is beyond me, unless it is done in retribution for something done to me, and even then, I don't know that I could go through with it, no matter how much I thought about it.

Giving yourself to someone so completely is something that I am unable to do, but I actually am envious of the ability Alex has to do so. To let someone else shoulder all the bad shit in life sounds like heaven. I think that the trust needed is something I can never give to another person. I would not want to have to endure even a small portion of what these characters has been forced to, even if it could bring me to the level of trust necessary.

Gemma James has a way of grabbing you by the back of the neck and forcing you to feel as you read, the need to make it through each horrible thing the characters face, and find the release to allow something better to come.

Pain, anguish, anger, sorrow and total euphoria are all wrapped up in this series, and in the most brutal way imaginable. If these emotions are too much for you, do not start this series. Ms. James has a way of making you feel everything, so be prepared.

Speechless

This series is not for the faint hearted at all. There are so many triggers that made me flinched at times. I worked my way through it and I'm glad I did, because this is a series about pure survival. "Condemned" is a masterpiece of strength, willpower, survival and unconditional love. Alexandra and Rafe both have to climb hurdles in life that others would not survive. There is wrong imprisonment, kidnapping, rape, sex trafficking and torture they both have to face before they can find their happily ever after. To me this is a series that was grabbed right out of real life when it comes to today's crime syndicates, especially in South America and Asia. Gemma James created a masterpiece with this series that left me speechless one minute and craving more of the story the next. What a page turner! Like I mentioned previously there are quite a few triggers in this series but it is a testament that we can overcome so much just by believing in ourselves and finding our inner strength. Alexandra is an extremely strong female character who is a pillar of survival. With Rafe by her side she is able to explore her darker side and heal in a way she never thought she was capable of.
I highly recommend this series even when certain triggers bother you. I found this book eye opening in many ways, especially as a victim of abuse myself. Its empowering in so many ways and reading Alexandra's story shows that you are not the only one, even when it is just a fictional story.

Dnf @67%

My dominant reaction while reading this series was ..."huh?"...with a weirdly confused and irritated expression on my face.

The first two books were fine but it was the third book where these two characters became obnoxiously annoying.

1) I didn't see or feel any connection between them. It was as if Rafe was deliberately and deviantly taking advantage of Alex's guilt and the need for pain. He was toxic to her and boy, was that not in a good way. He felt like the worst kind of psychopath to me. The bad kind...the kind who gives you the creeps...instead of the sexy chills.

2) Everything kept going in circles!!! Nothing seemed to change in a major way and it was damn frustrating. Zach tortured her, then ran away, then tortured her again and ran away, then came back, and got away again. What in the ever loving mindfuckery?!! 🤦It seemed like the author was heaping more and more meaningless trauma on Alex just for the sake of it.

3)When it came to Rafe, Alex had absolutely no backbone. She was practically made of Jell-o. And I hated it. It wasn't even about the sex where Rafe was always sadistically in-charge. I tend to enjoy that sort of thing.
But when it came to the dynamics of their relationship, these two were not equals. It pissed me off. I mean, Alex had to share everything with Rafe and get punishments when she made mistakes but no such rules existed for Rafe. Nuh-uh sir, you'll never see me respecting you...or you, lady.

4) 75% ... actually scratch that, 85% of this series was sex. It became old and monotonous really fast. 😬

This is not a review that will give a brief overview of the book. There is no way that I could begin to sum up the plot with any justice. Do yourself a favor and invest the time and prepare for a roller-coaster of a book filled with everything that you can possibly imagine, and then things that you can’t begin to conceive of.

I will say this book was a bit darker than I normally read, but this journey was well worth the read. This series follows Rafe and Alex through their tragic history and into an unbelievable love. I don’t think the book could have achieved the same level of emotional bond between these two without the darkness surrounding them. The story is for anyone that wants all of the emotional feels – fear, stress, trust, comfort, anxiety and the strongest bond and love found between two people.

The supporting characters were also carefully entangled in this story. There was depth and true understanding of the characters and their motivations. It was also wonderful to see the strength of a bond between two friends explored. Time and again we saw that true families can be more than blood ties.

I am not new to this author, but she continues to draw me into her stories. I can’t imagine how she formulates these stories in her head. I have really enjoyed her writing. The stories that she writes and what she makes us feel and experience through the stories leaves me stunned and wanting more.

This series was perfection. If you like your books on the dark & twisted side, then this is the story for you. It starts out dark and then you get to the point where you are just like what the actual fuck just happened! You get the blood, sweat, tears, fear, love, the HATE….you get it all and then some! I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty but I will say this. Alex & Rafe have a horrific history. You think one has it worst than the other and its not. You just can’t compare their brutal situations. Both are fucked either way you look at it. Alex could have done things differently and MAYBE a different outcome would have happened. Maybe things would have turned out differently if Alex didn’t lie and maybe not. She thought a lie would protect the man she loved but it just destroyed him and in turn destroyed her and her future as well. This is a journey of epic depravity. It’s not for the faint of heart.

Redundant

First two books I was following along with . Dad. Step brother . Rafe. Even Jax. The actions in those made the story believable. Then next book was totally for a series continuing and shock factor. So how many men want to abuse this woman and only one man want her consent in their BDSM relationship? I wish the story has continued with the first characters of first book no matter how the author tied it together it just made me not want read this series. It read the rave reviews and was expecting this to be a dark romance and what I felt like I got was a BDSM porno with torture and no consent. The romance was NOT in these books and I love me some dark romance even BDSM . This was not it. Unbelievable is what this was.. Just dragged to much into this series with these two main characters and ruined it for me.

I loved this series. I totally enjoyed reading it since it was a complete set and I didn't have to wait for the next book to come out. But, be warned, this book can and will trigger PTSD if you suffer from it. This is the story of Alex, her family, and Rafe. Alex has loved Rafe since she was thirteen years old. But due to lots of circumstances, they are kept apart for years. I hate to say too much and ruin the story for anyone. There is a lot of violence, sexual content, including rape. It is a very dark romance with lots of light peaking through all the time. So, if you like to read books like this one, then you should enjoy it, I sure did!!!!! Thanks to Gemma James for writing such a compelling book that kept me on the edge of my seat and many hours of missed sleep since I couldn't put it down.

Everlasting love

When love is on.one side and someone trying to keep away because he does want you spells disaster. When Zack and his sick night did horrible things and got her pregnant there had to be an escape goat and that was Rafe. Poor guy went away to prison for a while because of lies. Even had to.love thought he'll because of Zack and his warped desires and what he did to her. She had so much pain and she went off on it. But enough was enough. Kidnapped and kept.prisoner but that changed direction since they loved each other. There were so many turns and so much help from Jax and Angel from sex trafficking to do much more. And of.course Zack stirring up the pot and his love for her. But his love backfired for him.

Jesus..what did I just read? I dont DNF, ever. But I was literally this close to doing it. Sex scene, upon sex scene, upon sex scene for 6 books. SIX BOOKS! The FMC is weak af, always the spineless victim, always asking to be beat up. It gets old very quickly. The MMC is brutal and loveless beyond any measure, always beating her up. She's punished again and again for the same shit he does but all is good I guess? The rules don't apply to both? He uses her and is keeping the truth from her all the time. Like we get it you're both fucked up but for the love of God stop fucking for a goddamn minute and talk to each other!
In general I wont ever try to read another book from this author. I was so mad for dragging this shit for 6 books and in the end I wasn't even rooting for them. I'm done

If you have triggers I'd pass on this one. Holy hell it was one grand adventure.

More darkness, more anger, more heartbreak...

This series has it all. Highly recommend. I'm angry with myself for waiting so long to read it.

It does come with an HEA...finally! Well worth the read. I don't know how many times I had to stop reading to second guess everything. Really messes with your head and I love it!

Yes! She went there! Finally an author that is not afraid to go seriously dark. Thank you Gemma James! I loved the entire series & finished it in 2 days. Could not stop reading! If her other books are as good, she will be my new favorite author. I loved the characters although I was hoping to see a bit more evolution of Jax as he was a consistent character throughout. A little M/M or MFM would have been great especially with his attraction to Rafe. Seriously, thank you Gemma James for going where no author I've read yet has gone.

This is the complete series and packs a punch! Follow Rafe and Alex through all the dark, twisted events that happen to them. Rafe was sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit by Alex. He's out and determined to make her pay. Things aren't always what they seem in this series. A dirty, deliciously twisted read that I recommend for those who like dark romance with kidnapping, bdsm and other elements.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.

Wow. This is a book for the brave and twisted. The author does not hold back and the actions of Rafe stay true to his character. He does not wimp out in any way, well he tries once but that's a spoiler.
It did take me longer than usual to read this but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
If you are looking for something that is dark and sexy and sweeps you up and away, and you aren't afraid that you must read this compilation.

He always gets what he wants

What a book. I know I missed many nights sleep over this one.

Alex and Rafe, what can i say? Those two have some history, a torrid history that we learn all about during the unfokding of these books.
Zach and Abbott De Luca played a big part in this story, in Alex and Rafe's story. Through ups and downs (many downs) these two still come out on top.

This series is definitely not for the faint of heart...it’s crazy dark! This series will have you wondering how Alex and Rafe can love each other with their dark secrets but as you continue with reading, you can feel how deep and dark their love is. How many sacrifices do they have to make before they get their HEA? A lot, but don’t worry, there is an HEA!

This is to be enjoyed in layers

This will take you to dark places. It will arouse thoughts that are dark and places in your mind that are better left alone. It’s a love story that makes you ask “why “? No one should have to suffer this much for love. It’s passionate and it’s violent. It’s emotional and it’s almost too much. Definitely worth the read.

A Violent Love

Alex and Rafe take you on a rollercoaster ride filled with passion, pain, violence and love. Along the way you meet Jax, Angel, Zach and a cast of villains. Graphic sex, bondage, torture and murder. Not for the faint of heart, but you find yourself wanting a happy ending for these characters.

To He'll and Back

Wow, this series was a lot to take in. It took me a while to read it because I had to stop a few times and take a break. This couple endured so much abuse. I didn't think they could take anymore. They are so strong and fought to survive and be together. Alex and Rafe are survivors. Their love for each other is very strong.

It needs a trigger warning. Suicide attempts, self harm, torture and rape.

It’s a great series. You honestly have no idea where it’s taking you. It’s a wonderful journey that keeps you involved while also not making things monotonous.
