Hank has worked hard to become the man he is today. He's a loyal friend and brother to the men in his club, a tough but caring employer, and a helpful neighbor to the older woman next door. He had one night of passion with a woman that ghosted him and she’s left a hole in his life that he just can't fill. When he gets a second chance to be with her, he thinks he's got it made until she insults him and kicks him out of her life once and for all. He's not usually a man to pine after a woman, especially a woman that made it abundantly clear there is zero possibility for a future of any kind. Or so she thinks....
Nicole has a fulfilling job, great friends, and a wonderful life. But she's missing something her friends all have: a man to love her and a child to hold. Disillusioned with the lifestyle Hank leads, she dismisses him without giving him a chance to explain himself, hardening her heart against even a remote possibility that she may feel the same pain she'd suffered before.
Circumstances push them back together, but can they work through their issues and overcome the odds to find the happily ever after they both want and deserve?
Visit Rojo, Texas once again to catch up with the Texas Kings MC and get to know a few more friends from around town in Book 11 of the series.
4.6 stars. Wow. Talk about sweet. Hank is a sweetheart. And I’m super jealous of his cooking skills. I’m also jealous of all the animals Nicole has around her.
This book was a little up and down. Nicole had a hard time, at the beginning, thinking the guys were like some men who’d try to hurt her in the past and not wanting to get caught up in any of that anymore. But once she was set straight things got really fun. Hank is relentless and he loves Nicole with his whole heart. It was really cute actually. So was his trivia knowledge and thinking about him shirtless with his reading glasses on, book in hand. Whew. That’s a fun image.
This was hot and sweet and satisfying and funny and heartwarming. And of course, seeing all the characters from past books was a blast. I’m just really glad I decided to go back and read this series. It’s been a freaking blast. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I’m chomping at the bit to see who Clem Finally ends up with.
Finally!!!!! I've been waiting for them to get together and now they are and it was amazing. I jsy love Hank and all his facts. Now on to the next book!
I feel like I've been waiting for this one since Hank and Nicole first hooked up in Grunt's book. They did drive me nuts a bit, once again communication was the key to things not going well. Once each of them heard why the other jumped to conclusions it backed them down and they understood. I did like that Hank flat out told Nicole what he wanted from her after she let him know she was pregnant. He wasn't shy about anything, but better was then how he proceeded to show her that what he said was true. Nicole needed someone like Hank, someone who understood how crazy her life was with work. I was glad to see that everything worked out for them.
On a side note, I think my favorite character in this one was Nicole's Poppy. He was a hoot, totally not what I expected when he was first brought up. But the talk he and Hank had about Nicole's ex was very telling. I also loved how he accepted Hank and his sister and even brought news about the missing sister.

This is yet another fantastic book by Cee Bowerman. This is the love story of Hank and Nicole. You first read about them in Grunt and Shannon's book where they do the wild thing on the back deck. Unfortunately a lot of misunderstandings play out at the beginning of the book which does not put Nicole in a good light with anyone. It makes you dislike her a bit. How could she be such a douche to Hank!. She never the less redeems herself once the misunderstanding are cleared up and its Hanks turn to act the douche... Fast forward and you have one hot steamy loving relationship. OMG... Hank is just about the perfect man. I just love his stubbornness. He was determined to stay.. even if he had to break in after she had gone to sleep! This book has it all, laughs, action, tears. It drags you into the story and holds you there.
Wow!! What to say without giving away spoilers and the story? First congratulations Cee on another amazing book, you have such an amazing talent. Hank and Nicole's story started back in Grunts book, not going to lie, I didn't like Nicole back then, Then I read this and after reading and experiencing her back story I absolutely love her. Nicole and Hank have such good chemistry and they really do belong together. Definitely a MUST READ! So looking forward to what comes next, Cee's books just keep getting better and better!
First I totally have to say Happy Birthday...next is thank you so much!! I loved this book so much, well I love this book just as much as the other's thank you for sharing your amazing mind with us. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend is wondering why my face is stuck in my phone. Such a great story that was their own...sigh now what am I going to read while I wait for the next book.
Love, love, love this series! The ability to have each other's backs, the humor and most definitely the love story. I'll admit I had preconceived notions about Nicole, never more happy to be wrong! If you're looking for a series with humor, action and strong family vibes this is it. Just read it, so worth it!
I love how Hank lives with his whole self, whether it's Nicole, his brothers in the Kings or his siblings. He cooks and cleans and is just the man i wish i could turn my husband into! I love the Kings and the brotherhood and can't wait for more!!
I just absolutely adored this book. W hat wonderful steamy sexy love story. Really fell for Hank ! He is the perfect man. Doc was just great too, love her sass. Great read.
As you know, if you’ve read my previous reviews from this series, I really enjoy these books. The characters are sweet and funny and have crazy adventures. We already met Hank and Nicole in previous books, and in fact their first hook up was in Grunt’s book.
Hank had a troubled upbringing and was taken under Smokey and Martha’s wing when he was a kid. He grew up in the club, alongside Smokey and Tink’s kids and they are his true family, apart from his half sister.
Nicole runs the animal shelter and is best friends with Grunt’s old lady. They live over the field and are in and out of each other’s houses all the time. After their first hook up, Hank wanted to carry on with Nicole, but she wouldn’t give him the time of day.
Nicole came from a reasonably wealthy background, and was a doctor until she lost her licence. But despite appearances, she is definitely NOT a snob.
I loved these two together. They were hilarious. Hank was so determined to win her over and Nicole was adamant nothing was ever going to happen (again).
Hank is an amazing character. He’s good looking, caring, funny and smart. He also cooks like a gourmet chef and can handle a beat down with the best of them. He’s protective of his ‘girls’, the women who work in the strip club he co-owns and won’t stand for anything hurting them.
I have to say that Nicole was a very good match for this paragon of virtue as she’s rich but chooses to look after animals that no one wants. She’s loyal to her friends and stands up for what’s right even if it hurts her. She’s also pretty funny.
This was a great book and loved every page of it. The trouble is I’m going to have to wait for the next one now!
This is my 2nd time reading this book and I loved even more than the 1st time. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Due to misunderstandings and assumptions time was wasted between these two. I understand Nicole's fears due to her past but we all know what happens when you make assumptions right? Hank, well what's not to love about Hank. He's good looking, intelligent, funny, protective and best of all the man can cook!!!! There were a lot of lol moments, outrage moments (County) and heartwarming moments (Beans and Eggs). Naturally what made the tale even better was all the usual suspects throughout this series and some new one's - mainly Poppy - Nicole's grandfather.
These two are by far my favorite couple. I love Nicole and her take no crap attitude and I think Hank is definitely my favorite guy. To think I almost skipped this book!
I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE read. Cee Bowerman authors multiple series set within Rojo, Texas and they are intertwined. There is a correct reading order and it can be found on her website (ceebowermanbooks.com). These really do need to be read in that order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe (world building), with past and concurrent timelines and overarching themes.
** There are some scenes that may be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples from the series below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following may contain SPOILERS **
I love these intertwined series! This story has been very sedate when compared to the others. I think it makes for a good change of pace. Maybe because Hank and Nicole, aka Doc, ran their own businesses and were more settled before they got together. Regardless it is something that I greatly enjoyed.
In this story we finally get a high level of what occurred when Hank and Nicole spent the night on Shannon’s patio (Lout and Willow’s story) and why Nicole has been avoiding him ever since. Nicole had a bad experience with an ex that changed the course of her life. When she sees a few signs that Hank could be the same, she bolts. Hank also has a past, but one that he has overcome, even though it has led him to have lower values of self worth.
Nicole is able to stay busy and bury her self in work with her animal shelter. Hank has dated and dated, but no one holds his attention and he still thinks of Nicole all the time. He is not sure what happened to change what had been a fabulous night, why she disappeared so fast that morning or why she wouldn’t even talk to him about anything in the future.
Fast forward about a year and they have an ‘interlude’ where their method of birth control fails. Hank hasn’t had a scare before and tries to let her know that he will support her and their baby if there is one, but he is kind of in shock and that is not what Nicole understood. This causes further things to be said and the two to split even further this time.
Nicole has been wanting a baby. She has even considered in vitro fertilization, but she didn’t plan on taking a chance on an unexpected pregnancy with a man that reminded her of her past. Especially when she is brought a dog that has been beaten and finds out that Hank was arrested. WTF?! What kind of man is he to do that to a poor defenseless dog? Of course, there is no chance that she misunderstood why he was arrested, right?
One last note before I wrap this part up for readers not sure about the genre … the MC genre contains several different branches from sweet to outlaw to one percenters. While the Texas Knights MC is in the middle imo, the Texas Kings MC is more of the outlaw variety. Both focus on love, brotherhood, families and support, but the Texas Kings also bring vengeance to the table.

There are a few grammatical issues in this story, primarily typos, incorrect punctuation, and missing words. I highlighted a few of the errors and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
I have absolutely loved this series, and it just keeps getting better and better! It's definitely one of the best MC series that I have read. If you haven't already read this series, I highly suggest that you read the Texas Knights MC & the Texas Kings MC series'! They're both amazing and you'll have a better understanding of the characters, the different clubs, how they connect with one another, and the aspects between them. You certainly won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to more from both series', and can't wait for the releases! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
I have to add that although these series' don't have the traditional types of covers (you know, the half naked men, etc..), which I am very grateful for, you shouldn't pass them by because of this. I actually liked that the covers were different from the masses, and when I finally read the first book, I knew that I had found something special. I found another new favorite author, as well as some of the best stories that I have ever read. I love how even though the clubs split long ago, they're just as much of a family now as back then, maybe even more so. It's certainly an unconventional family, but one that everyone would love to actually have in their lives, at least I would! I'm happy that I gave this author a chance, because I would've missed out on something wonderful.
Hank has not been able to get Nicole out of his mind since they slept together one night, for him it was the beginning but the next morning Nicole kicked him to the curb without a real explanation as to why. Months later Hank still has not been able to move on and another round with Nicole has them reevaluating their relationship.
Nicole cannot deny she is attracted to Hank, she wants him but she thinks he is someone else altogether until she realizes she read him all wrong. Now Hank is determined to make Nicole his but Nicole is a bit hesitant so he pulls out the big guns on his strategy to woo his woman.
This was a complete delight, Hank is an enigma. He can be tough, crass and burly but he is so so much more. I was completely charmed by this book it had everything I could want. I was not sure what to expect from Hank's story with Nicole but it did not disappoint, savored every minute.
If you have not read any of the other books by Cee Bowerman, you need to stop right this minute and get going on them. From the very beginning!
Ok, I'll take it for granted that you have already read all that came before Hank.
Hank knows what to look for in the perfect for him woman. He has plenty of examples in how to treat her, when he gets a lock on her. Nicole thinks she understands the type of men her BFF has around. Thinks, that is the key word to remember here. When a situation comes up, Nicole thinks it proves her previous opinion of Hank to be true.
How does the fallout from Nicole's wrong opinion changes her life? You'll just have to read the book and find out!
Hank is not only a member of Texas Kings MC, he is co-owner of the strip club in town. His loud sister, Meesha, is the bartender of the club. These two have this back and forth banter that is funny, and we'll needed. The problem with always being on the go, and being an owner, is that Hank wants something meaningful, and he wants that meaningful relationship with Nicole. Nicole, is Hanks one night stand that he just hasn't got over. Nicole is a doctor/vet, that fixes up the clubs men. She also happens to run an animal shelter. This book is full of all the feels. I loved the bickering between these two, as well as, the characters. They gave this story a backbone!
This is definitely my fave so far. I like it when the couple is a little older and act more mature than many of the 20 yo heroine and 28 yo hero’s in these MC romances.
Hank was just a sweetheart. Looking for a family he thought he’d never get. Nicole was guarded but not bitchy. The assumptions and mis communication that occurred between them mostly happened off page and is part of their history- except for the comment about possible pregnancy.
I liked how the time progressed in this book. If it was step by step I would have been bored. Because these two have been dancing around each other for bulk of this series I felt like it would have been rehashing old ground. So the jumps were good.
I really wanted these two to work out with minimal drama and they did.

I bought this book and then just could not open it because I knew I would finish it in one sitting, then be sad that I didn’t have another to read by this author. Well...the book exceeded my expectations. It’s better than good. I read it straight through, loving every minute. I feel great that I read such a good story built around characters I have already come to feel as friends. It’s amazing that each story in this series feels fresh with only familiar characters showing up occasionally. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you CB for a great afternoon read.
The entire universe created by Ms. Bowerman in Rojo Texas as been my obsession since I am binge reading this series. There is a line where Doc wonders if she dies alone and her body won't be found for a while cause she's alone(Iam paraphrasing and the book is not morbid. This was just a thought.) Sorry sidetracked. Single woman over 30 here. I assumed I was the only person who ever had that thought...Doc has real fears about involving herself with Hank...Assuming things...Honey before you make a decision get all the facta from the main source. Read this book, it had me giggling and wanting to move to Rojo.
One of the things I love most about Cee's books is the melting pot of characters. She somehow manages to make you fall in love with each and every one of them . Then she continues to keep you updated on them through her other books. I also like how each story is different. It's not just a different set of characters with the same story line. The ages of her couples are not all the same either. Some books are about the younger ones and others like this one are about older ones. Loved reading Hank and Nicole's story and loved the new sidekick pets! They make the story. Thank you Cee Bowerman for another fantastic story 😊
I’ve seen MC books and TV shows and they are all dark, gritty filled with hard harsh men often tattooed and over muscled with very little respect for anyone not associated with their club. Cee Bowerman gives us a more real MC, they are hard men with a very human center, showing their loyalty to family, their love for their women and each other, their respect for the club is backed up by a deep respect for things like honor and standing up for those weaker. I love that they are also not all muscled male models but just a little extra ordinary, men. Honestly for a great read that will leave you smiling these books are a must
What to say about this book? Once you read this book you're going to want Hank for yourself. Hank and Nicole has a one night stand but then Nicole hears something that she misinterpreted. They get together again and then she gets preggo. Hank moved in to get Nicole fall in love with him. This story makes me want to move Rojo Texas if it was real. Cee builds the world in her books that make you feel right there with them. Cannot say enough good things about this book.
As always Cee writes the most awesome books about people that I want to hang out with all the time and become best friends!!! It's not just the main characters that make her stories great , it's all of the friends and family from other books too!! It just grows with stories and love and laughter and always makes me warm and fuzzy!! Hank and Nicole were great and I have to say I was prejudiced against Nicole at first but I ended up loving her by the end! Great story as always Cee!!!
From the comments and reviews I wasn’t sure about this book, but I Loved Bird, Lout, Grunt, and the entire series frankly. I had to read for myself and I am pleased with the story, characters, and plot. I have to say that Hank is one amazing person. He is just a rough, no-nonsense, kind-hearted, sometimes sarcastic male. You just love him a bit more as each page turns. This is a great book to read no matter if you read this entire series or you are new to the Texas Kings. Read On!
I chose this rating because this was a really great book. I really enjoyed most all of the characters. This was a book of determination, compassion, kindness, and being a very productive person. I really enjoyed Hank and Nicole story and how they came to be a couple. I also enjoy there banter together. This was a really great book. And my my my Mr. Hank came up with some great food choices. I think the author did an amazing job with this book. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.
