When Erica's Handler forces a confrontation on the street of Archer's Peak, Erica must decide where her loyalties lie -- to her employers, or to the people who need her?
Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.
Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.
The other night, I really wanted to pick up something I could read start to finish right before bed, so I decided to pick up the next issue of Something is Killing the Children! I feel like this series is really picking up and I heard it is going to be made into a Netflix show as well, so I really wanted to read the next issue and see where things go! So I opened up my Hoopla app and used a borrow to see where our characters land next!
SPOILERS AHEAD
With the babies out of the nest and running around town Erica, is scrambling trying to save people but in order to do that she needs the other person who has arrived from House Slaughter to get out of her way. However, they are insisting on following typical case protocol which will do them no favors here. So Erica has decide if she is going to take charge and save the town or go with House Slaughter and protocol.
I am still really really loving this series. I can not wait to see what they do with it for the Netflix show! I am also really excited for the next issue (which I have already borrowed on Hoopla and downloaded on my Kindle, so it is ready to go as soon as I want to read it)! I really love Erica and I am so happy we are finally getting to learn more about her backstory.
Still very good and entertaining but not much happen in this one in mostly every aspect, might be some sort of in between issue. Good in the overall series, but not much by its own!
This issue had suspense and plenty of gore. It just keeps getting better. The ending was just superb. I won't say anything for fear of spoiling, but I wonder where they would take the story now.
Covering Issues 6-10 in There’s Something Killing The Children. I usually wait for the full volume edition to come out-make it worth the money- but I made an exception.
Still enjoying this book and the story of monsters in a small Wisconsin town. We get some backstory on our badass monster slayer, Erica Slaughter, and the shadowy Order of St. George. Oh, and that little creepy stuffed animal. I gotta give it up to Werther Dell’edera for capturing a full spectrum of emotions in that one visible green eye of Erica’s.
I also really like the way Tynion writes the grief that comes from loss and also the kids perspectives in the story. Reminds me of Stranger Things at times. And Tim the Coroner. I’m still loving Tim. Hopefully we see big things from him as the battle continues.
Favorite quotes: ''You thought I was some kind of satanist.'' ''Jeez. Sorry for thinking you might actually be interesting.'' and ''I've been handing them out. Nothing like a backpack beer when there's some fucked up shit you need to look at.'' I don't understand how this hasn't been optioned for a movie/tv adaptation yet. Surely they've been handing out copies to the right people, right?
I love that you have a horror story that right when you think it's going to leave it's first part and go into the wider world, it stops and settles right back in to reveal that we're only in act 2. I love this series,
James and Werther continue to craft top notch horror and suspense in every single blood soaked issue. The stories and characters are dripping with suppressed emotions, fears, and secrets. My continued highest praises for the series of graphic novels.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any crazier or more suspenseful…. They killed a little girl in front of everyone!!! And did that guy just sacrifice himself so Erica could trap and kill all of them. And what is so significant about an oscuratype??? I love this series!!!!

It’s about to be a massive bloodbath and scared townspeople. I’m nervous for Erica and her ability to do her job in this situation, and especially with her superior dead. I was hoping to learn more about him so I’m a bit sad he died so soon.
