Even a deadly fairy tale can't stop Envy from seeking the sound of that one small heartbeat in the dark.
Jade Shen was born into privilege, wanting nothing with loving parents. Until tragedy struck. Raised by a bitter grandmother, Jade loses herself in studies and being groomed to take over her parent's tech firm worth millions—choices not her own. Death revisits and this time Jade is the target with her trust fund the prize. The losing side of the war against the secretive Grid seducing her guardian to fund the battles—the Devil and his demented son must not lose. But Envy is always on the path with Greed—Jade simply in the way as they merge. Death always has its own plans.

Tyrus DeMonte was abandoned at birth. Left to burn in the fires of Hell by his own father. Putting the past behind them and they now fight on the right side of the Grid. Determined to prove his worth, Tyrus takes whatever is given to him—son of a disowned Elite and fighter wanting to be so much more. He had no idea that a chance meeting with a young, sweet, innocent girl would teach him the one lesson that had cost him the most. Love. But unlike fairy tales, love doesn't always find a way. Not when Death cuts off the story before the once upon a time can start.

About the Author

Born and raised in Texas, Ward is a mixed bag of creativity spinning tales of paranormal, urban fantasy and even dark romance and horror; wrapped within a love story.

She’s been dared by her readers to write a few contemporary romances but even those reads have characters that are real and twisted by their creator. It did, however, spawn her romance tag line: Romance - The Ward Way.

Mother of three diverse and independent bold children, Ward prides herself for being the “Queen Niche’ Bitch” which is a handy way of saying she sucks writing to market.
But her readers don’t seem to mind.

Envy was a fantastic paranormal story that I seriously couldn't get enough of. Jade is stuck with her very cold grandmother after her parents died in plane crash. She only wants to be left alone to read her books, and yet, things about to hit the fan in her life. Jade tried to not be noticed in High School, but a dark power is swirling all over her, which has Tryus DeMonte noticing her. He's son of the Keeper of Murder, so man, things are going to get intense since The Grid is up in arms about the new keeper that is Jade. See, it gets complicated when Tryus starts to really see Jade, so what will happen now?! You'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Envy was amazing! I have patiently been waiting for this book and Jas does not disappoint with this series/book. This book introduces you to the newest Keeper - Jade Shen and her dark power Envy. There is so much packed into this book that it kept me hooked from the first page. This book is full of twists and major WTF moments. But that ending??? Wow!

There were a couple scenes in this book that really hit me with the MAJOR feels. Emotions! Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I love how the story progressed and seeing the relationship between Jade and Tyrus develop. And getting to see all the characters back again in this book - love.

Things have changed a lot for these characters since the last book and seeing so many new chapters opening up for these characters and I really can't wait for the next instalment in this series - Chaos. But Envy is definitely a book in this series that I will be reading again.

The introduction of Envy brought the story of the grid to a new level. The human girl Jade has not died to merge with Envy like the rest of the Shadow Keepers but they accepted each other just as much. Jade and Marcus/Death’s son Tyrus fell for each other and Envy protected him also. But danger came again in the form of Epsilon and this world just can’t ever stop its war. Great story and phenomenal characters. Can’t wait for more books!!

This is the fifth book in the series and focuses on Jade, the new entirely different Keeper and Tyrus, son of the Keeper of Murder. This adventure is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and action. I really enjoyed this one and couldn’t put it down. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the 2nd book I've read written by Jas T. Ward; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.
