Legacy technology is one of the biggest threats to public sector organisations. Technology leaders are aware of the risk but the challenges they face aren’t easily addressed.
Modernising legacy applications isn’t just about picking the right strategy to transform your existing estate though. It’s about changing the way you operate and empowering your team to embrace and adapt to change.
Written by the team at Made Tech, the public sector technology delivery experts, this book will guide you through solving your legacy application issues so you and your team are able to start building sustainable technology in the future.
Fascinating guide to modernising legacy applications. This is very much applicable to any sector (and was certainly my experience of core platform banking transformation). The book reads as a how to guide on approaching the problem, assessing merits and approaches to transformation, and gives key decision making criteria. I would have liked to see a little more on specific public sector issues and how to navigate these (this is a fascinating application of this work), especially how to navigate the political will and financing agile transformation in mammoth organisations. Great read, I very much recommend it if this interests you! An important contribution towards accessible, effective, transparent, and modernised government (and digital government!)
