Night of a Million Miracles: The Inside Story of Project Pearl

Rate this book
Out of the ashes of death and destruction in China's Cultural Revolution, rises a purified, renewed and fast-growing church. The need for one million Chinese Bibles is urgently requested and a team of ordinary men respond with a strong faith in an extraordinary, miracle-working God. Using a tugboat and a specially-designed barge, twenty men clandestinely deliver one million Chinese Bibles - 232 tons - in one night to thousands of Chinese Christians waiting on a beach in southern China. But the untold story is the million miracles that occurred in getting to that night of delivery. This story of Project Pearl will help you understand how and why the revival sweeping through China was fueled by the infusion of one million Bibles.

Great story about getting one million Bibles into China. Not very well written, but a good story.

Just an amazing book! For me reading this book was like watching an action movie and God was in the center of everything.

Really well written book about the true story of Project Pearl - a secret mission to 'smuggle' one million desperately needed bibles into mainland China and into the hands of house church members and pastors.
I really enjoyed this book, it was, as I said, very well written by one of the characters 'Pablo', so is understandably accurate (more so than some of the critical accounts given by people who did not even ask the guys who did it what happened). Night of a Million Miracles: The Inside Story of Project Pearl was an incredible and inspiring story of faith and trust in the LORD, it is great to see how we can 'move a mountain' (or more) with a little faith. Some of the most amazing stories I found were ones like when All up I think every new or mature christian should read this book to see the power of God through faith!
Great book...

3.75 stars, will round up to 4. I love getting to hear about what God has done around the world! There truly were a million miracles in this book, and I loved getting to read them. This book can also give a fresh perspective on having a Bible, something that I take for granted. I will say that, especially towards the beginning of the book, the author got way too bogged down on details about names and places and ship parts. It did not make for an easy or exciting read in the beginning because of this. However, it got better as it went on.

I could have read this book faster if I did not have to keep picking my jaw up off the floor. I’m sure everyone around me while I was reading it was annoyed by my constant “wow” every other page but I simply could not help myself. What an incredible testament to God’s power and love and what He can do when we give Him our full “yes!” No turning back!

Très bon livre qui nous comment Dieu a agit pour que les chréteins chinois des années 80 recoivent 1 million de Bible en une seul nuit.

An amazing, audacious project to answer the call from Chinese believers for one million Bibles. Incredible faith in an awesome God.

If it didn't actually happen, you probably wouldn't believe it.
