I found myself silently seething whenever some of the politicians spoke, which I'm sure was the point. It was a real, gritty, dirty look into politics in the battle for equal rights. It's a great spotlight of those on the right side of history, and it made me want to join them in the fight. That, to me, is the truest definition of an excellent book - if it makes you get up and want to change things or make waves, it's worth 5 stars. Big thumbs up to the author!

How did the stubborn state of Arizona - - the only state that continues to resist daylight savings time, and one of the last to adopt Martin Luther King day as a holiday, become the first to vote down a ban against gay marriage? Author Ray Ceo, Jr. lays it out brilliantly in this fictionalized, but fact-based account of the fascinating series of events leading to this historical moment.

First -a first hand look at the fight for marriage in AZ

Ray Ceo Jr, gives a great perspective of what its like to be apart of the lgbtq+ community in the 00's. It also shows of how as a community Arizona has changed in such a short amount of time. I cannot wait for his second novel.
