This prequel to a 5 book series is a huge data dump of the 5 girls set in August post-high school, before they set out on their separate journeys in life. They live on a 5 island area named Five Island Cove. Trying to keep the islands straight was as confusing as keeping the characters, and their back stories, straight. The author needs to provide a map at the beginning of each book.

The author recommends you read this prequel between books 1 and 2 of the series that actually take place 30 years later. Reading it at that time would be pointless and only add to the confusion of these stories as they drag out the drama of one character or another.

I did go on to read book 1 and 6 chapters of book 2. The technical errors made continuing to read this series impossible. I do not recommend this book, the 5 book series or this author.

This book is about five friends which have a very great bond between themselves and yet are so different from each other. School is done and now some will be attending college or getting new jobs away from Five Island Cove. Being together at an Inn since a huge storm blows over the area they rent a room and they agree to meet every year in the summer to catch up and share what they went through while being separated. One girl is in charge of getting phone numbers from each one so they can contact each other while away from each other. Really enjoyed reading this book since it shows what true friendship is.

Five young women are about to leave their small island homes for college and jobs. They make one last memory, canoeing out to an island. However, the water is choppy and the wind is blowing. A storm shuts down the ferry so they can't get home. This book serves as an introduction to the girls and to the Five Island Cove series of books.

I look forward to reading about how their lives unfold in the future books. This is a clean story, although one of the women is troubled and has slept with a lot of men. I would recommend this book for young adults and older.

This was a prequel to the upcoming books and I really enjoyed getting to know this five friends and how they came to be such good friends. Each girl comes from a different background. They share their lives and loves and hopes for the future with each other. They are all off of different paths now that they have graduated High School and they are having one more last summer adventure together, before life as they know it changes for them.
This is a fast paced and enjoyable read into these 5 woman's lives. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Great start to this new series, with Memories at Friendship Inn. We get introduced to the five girls who are best friends on Five Island Cove and are getting ready to leave for college at the age of eighteen. They all are scared to leave the island, but know they have to. Robin is the only one not leaving yet. There is a world beyond the cove.

This is a poignant story of five very different girls who came to be friends after joining a club for many different reasons. You’ll enjoy getting to know each of them and watch them grappling as big life changes loom.

This book gives you insight into the lives of the five friends from Five Island Cove. They have a tight bond, even though they are very different.

I received a free book, and this is my honest opinion.

Superb book -- old friends, new friends, they all have a great time together. Some of the memories are hard but with friends it is much easier!!! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.

While this was an introductory book to the Five Island Cove series, it was hard for me to connect with any of the main characters. We were left with little real information about any of the girls. I assume a lot of this will be cleared up as one begins the series. I hope so.

I liked to ready this book to get the story on how the five friends ended splitting up. There is so much in these characters that you want to get into the series to read it through. A great book.

This was a very quick read that gave a lot of background information. Most of it has been told in later books in the Five Island Cove series. It was nice to reconnect with the characters.

In this book you will read about 5 best friends. These girls are truly close and struggling to say goodbye to each other. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review.
