Micha Kessler, Prince of Ashen Springs, bully, and devil in disguise.

We were the Knights, the future leaders of The Order of Ravens and Wolves. Each born into privilege and power. We could have anything and anyone we wanted.

And I wanted Riley Adams.

That pigtailed little brat slapped me in the park. She thought she could handle me. That I was just an entitled prick who got my kicks taunting her.

She should’ve listened to the rumors, paid attention to the warnings. . . Not that it would’ve mattered. Her fate was sealed the day she came up to me looking for her damn dog.

Hate wasn’t a strong enough word for how I felt about Micha. I could handle his taunting words and cruel jokes, but he decided to up the ante. Trap me, lock me in a cage and throw away the key.

But the thing about a cornered animal is that, they eventually turn feral. Desperately clawing around for a way out. Even the devil had a weakness. I just had to maintain my sanity long enough to find his, and hope that I didn’t lose something I couldn’t get back in the process. Because there’s a fine line between love and hate. . . and that line is starting to blur.

Warning: This book is a dark romance and contains intense sexual scenes. If you are a reader with certain triggers sensitive to such dark themes, please heed the author's note at the beginning of the book

I don’t get it. Author writes a virgin heroine by all accounts apart from the much loathed trope of mine “betraying body alert” was actually quite strong. Then almost towards the end of the book she has a threesome with her stepbrother! Throughout the book you see how unfairly hypocritical the male lead is in how he can do anything with other girls but heroine has to stay true to him. He was borderline crazy at the thought of anyone even looking at her but suddenly he is ok with sharing his previously innocent girlfriend with with best friend....her stepbrother! Not only that I am almost positive her stepbrother is going to end up in a book with heroine’s best friend judging their interaction in the book. There’s just already too much sharing in their inner group. I found that sharing scene distasteful and completely contradictory to H’s possessive manner previously. I couldn’t finish after the scene I felt so uncomfortable.

Jeez just put a f*cking warning that's there's gonna be a sharing scene. Not everyone is into it and don't appreciate tasteless surprises. Throughout the whole book, the guy is crazy possessive and then he is sharing her with his best friend to make him feel better. lmfao. Sooo cute. NOT

How disappointing. I was pumped at the beginning of this book. Secret Societies aside, I enjoyed the writing style, and warmed up to the main characters. Halfway through and I find out there are elements of SHARING and hearing THAT, I'm OUT. I am absolutely SICK of being BAITED into this. How many books has it been this year? I've lost count. Tell the reader if there will be SHARING. I'm NOT A FAN!. MANY OF US ARE NOT and IT WOULD BE COURTEOUS TO READERS TO MERELY PUT A WARNING (Especially for sharing/threesomes) BEFORE WE BUY YOUR BOOKS. And she's planning a series. EXCELLENT. I predict an all out orgy in the works a la' Penelope Douglas. I will NEVER read a book by this author again.

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

Hot Damn! It’s been so long since I have read a book that was exactly my taste. A book so perfect that I couldn’t really put it down until the very end!!! I don’t really know why I waited so long to read this one. If you are a fan of Fear Me by BB Reid and Devil’s Night Series by Penelope Douglas then this book is utterly perfect for you and I suggest that unlike me you don’t waste anymore time and read this book ASAP!! Also there is one more thing That I would Like to say, The top reviews of this book are absolutely rubbish. It is my personal Recommendation that read this book and don’t let those reviews deter you. This is one hell of a bully romance romance!

Micha is the king of his school. Even at a small age , he wields such huge power and is absolutely perfect at it. That is until his father gives him a choice. He has to choose a girl who will be his forever. Do whatever he wants. He is about to choose a girl from the choices given to him , when he meets a certain spitfire who sets his blood on fire. The girl who doesn’t hesitate to put him in place and there is nothing hotter that he has ever seen in his life. From that moment he decides that she is the one who he wants. The one who will always be his and there is no way he is letting her go. She is his little mouse and He is going to enjoy every second of breaking her and making her submit in the best way possible.

Riley is the town sheriff's daughter. She has a simple life. Except there is one boy who is hell bent on making her life a living hell. He wants to ruin her and she’ll be damned before she lets him do that! From the moments they were kind he has been hurting her , whether it was to push her off the swing or to send her to prison for small crimes and then laughing at her. She was going to make him pay and she was going to enjoy every second of it.

Micha is very excited. Soon his mouse is going to be sixteen and she is going to belong to him forever. There will be no barrier in between then and there is nothing he would do to ensure that she belongs to only him.

The sadistic game these two had was so hot! Micha was a man who liked to chase his prey before he claimed her and A part of me absolutely loved that! Another thing That I absolutely loved about this book was that Riley was no pushover. The way she gave as good as she got was the best part and I really loved her for it! If she would have just given in, then that would have made this book a lot Boring for me! Kudos to this author for giving us such an amazing debut and I absolutely can’t wait for more from her. Micha is now my top Anti Hero and I would recommend this book to all the dark romance lovers out there! If you are into kinky romance with bullying in the mix , then this book is something that you definitely should not miss.

Aftereffect lands us in Ashen Springs where we meet an entire cast of characters, both likable and … not so much.

The story focuses primarily on Micha Kessler, future leader of the Order of Ravens & Wolves, and Riley Adams. Born into privilege and power, members of this elite society in which secrecy is paramount and power trumps all. At a very young age, Ravens are forced to select their future bride to ensure strong bonds and bloodlines. Following a chance encounter with the sheriff’s daughter at the park, Micha is drawn to her spunk and, unbeknownst to her, seals her fate.

Over the course of the years leading to Riley‘s 18th birthday, their relationship is tenuous and fraught with animosity. Micha is domineering and generally detestable, degrading Riley at every opportunity. Where she is his polar opposite: quirky and making the best of a difficult life.

Things really go sideways in the days leading up to, and following, Micha’s official claiming of Riley. We get to ride shotgun for this roller coaster relationship where they each are forced to navigate secrets, lies, and betrayal while coming to terms with their off-the-charts chemistry.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and the world building. It is necessary to suspend reality on a number of plot points as many of the situations are far too mature for the age of the characters. That said, I am looking forward to continuing the series and getting to know the other characters better, particularly Mase.

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: AFTEREFFECT.

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY DARK BULLY ROMANCE.
AUTHOR:T.L. Hodel.
TYPE: STANDALONE...Interconnected with the series THE ORDER OF RAVENS AND WOLVES.
POV: FIRST PERSON: DUAL PROSECTIVE.
MY RATING: 5 "drunk with twisted love" Stars...

I can't thank my book buddy enough that she forced me to read this one....it was the best decision ever. I was a die-hard fan of Bully romance and this book here has sated every one of my dark cravings.
And now I can't read anything else after this...I am obsessed.

Micah was one of the character who has refused to leave my conscience even after so many days of reading it...He was ruthless, no cracks in his armor...his character was almost unredeemable and he was funny without even trying to be...
A part of the younger generation of the secret society and future King, he was meant to be always in control of his desires but one girl was the exception. He hates her yet some part of him has always been in love with her.

Riley is the town's sheriff's girl and a victim of bullying since her childhood. She hates Micah to the core but he was the only one for whom she bi=urns with desire...and when she comes to know that they are bounded for life...well, this is just the starting of the end of the world for her.

Riley and Micah were just so entertaining to read...Micah was always a step ahead in his plots but Riley was not any less at all...When he strikes, she strikes back harder and there start their enemies to lovers romance...

If you are a fan for B.B. Reid's Fear me series or Penelope Douglous's Devil's night series then this book is for you!!!
And now, All I am looking forward to is for MY LOGAN!!!...

Unpopular opinion

First of all the sharing scene doesn't bother me at all. Yes Micha is very possessive with Riley, but the sharing is very much"consensual" both parties like what had happened, and that's fine. Tbh there's a lot of books out there that has a possessive H and threesomes with bestfriend/s, but I don't hear any backlash or complaints in regards to it. I like this book, and knowing that this is a debut book the writing style isn't BAD it isn't perfect by any means, plot and character wise speaking needs improvement. you can sense it from the get-go, the childish dialogue and cheesy scenes.

WTF WITH THIS BOOK? 😂😂😂

Someone told me it doesn’t have a OW DRAMA. Well it does and its pretty f*cked up in many ways. THIS DAY HE CLAIMED THE HEROINE TO BE HIS BUT THE DAY AFTER HE SAW THE HEROINE WITH A SKIRT BUT HE GOES WITH ANOTHER WOMAN! WTF WTF??!!!

When they have a threesome with her step brother that which he totally agree with and on board, he even have the nerve to get mad and being childish. WHY EVEN SAID YES DUMBASS???! The heroine even asked for permission and he said yes and he even said it was hot to see her like that!!

NO CHEATING THO BUT NO CHEATING WHEN THEY FIRST START TO GOING OUT AND MADE VERY OFFICIALLY. BUT Before? Nope. The hero was pretty much a manwhore to begin with.

Actually i will named him not the hero, a loser.

I GAVE IT A TWO STARS because one, THE HEROINE IS A VIRGIN even though she was a dumbass and pathetic. She only have one kiss and her other firsts is with the hero only.

Two; THE HERO IS EXTREMELY OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE. HE CALLS AND SAID TO THE HEROINE AND EVERYONE THAT SHE IS HIS. YOU ARE MINE. MINE. MINE. Too many times... AND MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO! Many! He even got jealous of the Pillow that the heroine hug to her chest too tight. “i hated that f*cking thing! Minnie is smiling at me night after night from her spot nestled between Riley’s breasts.”

THIS STORY ALSO TRIGGERS R*pe and killings.

The loser was very much a coward himself and very extremely f*cked up not because he have a dark past or sad past, but because he choose to be that way and he thinks its right when its not.

The loser wants the heroine since she was a child and very possessive towards her even stalking her and obsessed with her but f*cks and thinks about other woman too many times. WTF??????

Overall this story was not for me at all. The hero was not a hero at all, I can’t even feel the connection between the couple and it was way too much annoying situations happens for no reason.

BAD BOOK.

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

Very entertaining

4.5 stars

I was very surprised that this was the author's first published work given the fluid and descriptive nature of the storyline, complexity of characters and character development, as well as the mature themes immersed in new adult backdrop. (Yes, I easily engaged a willing suspension of disbelief on the latter). Truly, there was a significant number of characters with unique backgrounds and personalities. It was a medium-burn, enemies to lovers romance featuring a strong, firecracker of a heroine and heady alpha possessive hero, Riley and Micha. They first meet in their early childhood having fathers involved in or attached to a secret society. Through an agreement signed by Riley's father, at her 16th birthday Riley is given to Micha who is actually a bit obsessed with her.

The story covers the stormy and steamy relationship between Riley and Micha with a little romantic suspense. Great main characters in Riley who was feisty, sometimes reckless and Micha, dominating alpha. Micha's over the top jealousy - thank you -- was on display throughout this book. The sexual tension between Riley and Micha was off the charts hot; the buildup was palpable. This book was very steamy, which I loved. I welcomed the commonalities in their past traumas which made the couple a great fit. A diversity of supporting characters, at times a little too many to fully enjoy at once, contributed well to the storyline bolstering the couple's interactions. From sociopaths to leader of a motorcycle club, I look forward to reading about this motley of personalities, young and older, in the next books. Finally, great intrigue in this storyline, in addition to the richness of characters, the arc in this storyline held my attention.

Just a few elements which didn't work in the book's favor: The mature tone of the storyline was at odds to the age group of the key characters, particularly having a 16 year old heroine. They and their positions in society conveyed older than their years. Admittedly for me, it was easy to suspend disbelief, go with the flow; it is fiction after all, but the dichotomy was noteworthy. Also, the pace of the book was slower than I felt it needed to be, a little too lengthy. Finally, better proofreading of the book was warranted. A few events may not sit will with readers particularly as they occurred with no foreshadowing or buildup. I made allowances because it's a dark romance and again, it is fiction. The entertaining storyline, personas, character development, and chemistry held my attention, and were so captivating that none of these cited elements detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book.

I look forward to book 2. I can't wait to read what the author writes next. Can't wait for Logan.

Style: Young Adult Romance (High School Very Dark)
Story: 3/5
Sexual: GOOD
Enjoyment: 3/5
Dark Level: 3/5
Male: Super Possessive and Obsessive
Series: Book 1

***May contain Spoiler***

I have no words. I feel I am split, yet again, on a book that I liked. It started off strong but the issue this time wasn’t boredom, it was like, huh, what the hell did I just read. I think when the author wrote this book, she said screw it, I’m going to go buck wild crazy with my imagination.

Micha, apart from being super possessive and obsessive, he was mean majority of the book. He is the next king in line of this secret society and at a very young age he must choose his wife. He chose, Riley. Riley, I had an issue with the age. I am all for high school, but 16, no was a bit of a turn off. She was strong majority of the book, but couldn’t help being turned on by her tormentor.

To note, Micha did mess around with others, so that will bother some readers. There was a ménage à tois scene. That just didn’t jive with Micha and Riley. Micha was so possessive I didn’t get it that he shared her and Riley literally just lost her virginity like a couple of days ago and seemed so bold. Logan, whom they did the ménage a tois with was Riley’s step-brother and it was a turn off that he kept calling her SIS during the whole thing (shivers).

The secondary characters kept you entertained, it was a lot. These boys are a whole new kind of breed. I can see a bit of who will be with who and out of everyone, I am interested and really looking forward to reading Mason and Harper’s story. I wonder if even Preston will have his own story.

Overall, if you are extremely sensitive, have triggers, don’t care for cheating (or meaningless hook ups with others), feel weird an 18-year-old is a killer and that the heroine is 16, put this book down, don’t walk but run away. Apart from that, for me personally, I am used to dark, it wasn’t that it was bad, I just didn’t care for certain things based on my personal preference.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.

This review is SO overdue. I went back and forth with my rating. The reason was the numerous side characters and the concept of The Order of the Ravens. Then I realized it will all be explained in the following books + some of the side characters are getting their own books. So cool, it made sense to me, and I'm glad I waited before unfairly judging. Seriously, don't judge a book by its cover :)

Now, why you may ask that I landed on the 5 stars rating since I'm a picky reader?

Two words: Riley Adams.

We all know that a good heroine is near impossible to find nowadays. It's always either too much push and push, or not enough. When you have an alpha hole, it's difficult for the heroine to shine. If she gives in too quickly, she is a doormat. If she holds off for too long, then there needs to be a darn good reason for it.

I found Riley to be that perfect mix of sweet and sour. She stands her ground when necessary while still being a flexible person. I LOVED her sense of humor, her quirks, her little spitfire attitude. It's been a while since I read a heroine who can be a spitfire THE RIGHT WAY. Not in one of those eye-rolling, "I'm independent/never getting married" kind of way. Her humor and sarcasm was infectious RIGHT off the bat. She kept me laughing during all of her scenes. I thought of her as little Gianna from the maddest obsession. At the same token, Riley was sweet and reasonable. There were moments she was trying to make Micha's little brother feel better by writing him letters - it was so heartwarming.

I was able to relate to Riley and I never felt that her decisions were irrational. She gave in at the right moments and also pushed back appropriately. Not to mention, we finally have a Mexican heroine (Holla! Represent). Lack of diversity has been a huge complaint, especially in bully books.

If you liked the Elite Series by Rina Kent, this is your jam. This book has it all:

Spitfire heroine (without being annoying): check
IR Couple: check
Alphahole jealous, rich hero: check
Hot Sex Scenes: check
A story that keeps you engaged: check

5 stars for the bullying and j/p H, 3 stars for the inconsistencies/rushed ending

I am a SUCKA for bully romances, especially when the H is OBSESSED with the h, but this could’ve been stronger. I read somewhere that this was the author’s first book? Strong effort if it was.

The story starts off with the prologue, set 10 years before the rest of the book begins. We get a glimpse of the order of the ravens and wolves. Here we get a short introduction to the parents and of the boys that are turning to adults in the rest of the book. We also see that, for some reason, Micha pics Riley as the girl he wants (he’s 8 and she’s 6). We get to see Riley as a tiny bad ass when she smacks Micha after he becomes an a hole (yay little Riley!).

10 years later, Riley‘s mom has just died. Her mom has been an alcoholic for years and she crashed her car and died the day before Riley‘s 16th birthday. In the prologue, we find out that her dad is the sheriff, so now she’s forced to go live with her dad and his new wife/her son. She moves in, obviously very upset and depressed, and she’s also going to be transferring schools, to the school where her bully goes to. What I love about Riley is that she does not take his bullying; she fights back (but he’s stronger than her, so he still overpowers her 🤤😅- I looove when the H craves her tears and licks them). Micha is just as obsessed with her as he was when he was a kid. He seeks her out, craves her, and she isn’t a doormat, which were some of my favorite parts of this book.

Micha is receiving threats, so he realizes that Riley is in danger and has his people watch her. Riley makes friends with a few people, and we get to know the other main characters from the rest of the series. There are a lot of pieces of the puzzle that get unfolded as the book progresses about the characters and the order of the ravens and wolves. There’s more that we need to know (hence the rest is the series).

Riley is a v, which Micha basically made sure would happen since she’s his. Her parents signed a contract that states Micha “owns” Riley, and he’s coming to collect now. Oh dear God, the chemistry between Riley and Micha was intense/thick. Even though he bullies her, they both want each other so much 🥵. He craves her, desires her, covets her, and so does she 😅. Every time they were together (even before they finally have sex) was 🔥. I wanted more of them together 😅👀. It takes a while for them to have sex, but when they do, oh Lord, have mercy 🔥🥵😅😉.

Why not a full 5 stars? Well, the ending felt rushed to me. There was so much buildup to the threats that the ending felt rushed. I needed more lol. Also, the whole time Micha has been jealous/possessive with Riley and anyone that looks/touches her, yet he shares her? It just didn’t make sense with how possessive he is. Don’t get me wrong- it was very hot and I loved the scene, but, it didn’t fit his character. Also, what another character is forced to do to Riley at the end was 😏😒. Ugh.

I really enjoyed it, especially when the H and h were together (and when he bullies her). Will I continue the series? I don’t know. I’ve read some reviews for book 2, so I don’t think I would enjoy it as much as this one, but I’m very curious to see how the series will play out.

⚠️safety squad⚠️ spoilers ahead
-no actual cheating (but keep reading)
-OW is present. The H is obviously not a v, so one ex is in the book. There is a scene where he is frustrated/turned on thinking about the h and he takes OW into the closet. We don’t see what happens, but it’s implied 🙄. All of this happens before H and h get involved/kiss
-obviously there is bullying happening- so there are some forceful situations that involve the H being physical with the h (throwing/pushing her around, spanking her, etc), which leads to…
-dubcon/noncon- but I would say more dubcon since the h ends up enjoying it all because she equally craves the H
-SHARING SCENE- I know many people don’t like this, so warning! It happens at about the 88% mark. It’s with the h’s stepbrother/H’s best friend. It didn’t feel as organic as it could’ve felt. The h had only had sex twice at this point, yet suddenly, she starts licking OM’s abs and grabbing his d while getting permission by H to continue. OM’s scars (physical and emotional) were being talked about, which prompted h to tell him he’s beautiful, etc. Then, DP scene happens 😳. It was hot, but came out of nowhere (especially with how j/p H is and how inexperienced h is)
-the h is r@ped by a different OM. We don’t see it, but the OM and the h were forced into this situation (this is like the last 7% of the book) and the OM is being forced to hurt h, and r@ping her is one way- eventually, the villain ends up whipping/beating her up when OM doesn’t hurt her as much when he r@ped her

Bully romance

Good read. Had a few errors but nothing terrible. I'm excited for this series and to get more in depth with some of the side characters. The story ends kind of rushed. I feel like even though yes it ended it could have been really cleaner. It left me still wanting more to tie up everything.
-semi dark BUlly
-main male: possessive, jealous, rich boy leasehold
-main girl: tough n not overly whiney
-noncon,dub con,steamy

-did I enjoy: yes. I just hope the writing gets better to where each book isn’t rushed once the drama happens and is solved. Like solve it and give us MORE growth on the other side please! SO MUCH POTENTIAL IN THIS SERIES

you cannot just say there are “certain triggers” but then fail to say what they are. i despise sharing especially when it’s done to make the other guy feel better. adding on to the fact that this was her stepbrother wtfff. the same misha that was crazy possessive now wants to share??? ruined the book for me and the author. i hate investing my time in a book and they do this. not all of us are into sharing and for some of us it’s a major turnoff. i already hate the whole rh trend but at least i know which books are rh bc they’re clearly labeled but this new trend of throwing in a sharing scene randomly is the worst. it feels like a cheap trick to bait readers. ugh i’m so disappointed

3.5 - 4 stars!

This is the first book in The Order of Ravens and Wolves series and features Micha and Riley. This story is reminiscent of B.B. Reid's When Rivals Play series and I found myself seeing Ever and Four in Micha and Riley. Micha is the future leader of The Order of Ravens and Wolves...a secret society in their town that owns, controls and manipulates everything. The society is dark and depraved with secrets and acts that will never see the light of day. From the moment Micha saw Riley on the playground when they were kids and she smacked him for being a bully, he claims her. The twisted games, contracts and rules the society lives by sets Riley's future in stone and she will be Micha's whether she wants it or not. Micha watches Riley for years and when she turns 16, her life changes irrevocably because now she is in Micha's world for good.

Riley hates Micha and the two of them have the most delicious back and forth banter. This is a bully enemies-to-lovers romance and I loved reading how their relationship evolved. Once Micha officially claims Riley, a sinister adversary starts to play a game with Micha, Riley and the rest of the group. Riley is caught in the crossfire and Micha works hard to keep her protected. I don't want to give too much away because I think it's better to go into this blind and read the secrets, revelations and twists on your own. I will say though the suspense element to this story was well done. Can Micha protect Riley? Will they figure out who is playing a sick game with them? Will Micha and Riley discover their brand of love together?

The heat between Riley and Micha was hot as hell and was definitely of the dub/con variety but I loved it. Micha is brutal and Riley is fierce and spicy and the two of them are perfect for each other. Riley never backed down and Micha fell hard. They complimented each other. While it took until about the 70% mark to get a full bout of steam, the sexual tension and bits of steam before that were on point.

One thing that bothered me about this story was their ages. They were in high school and between the ages of 16 and 18 but they acted like they were way older. And everything happening kind of made it weird that Riley was only 16. This was a dark romance and there are several triggers so I sometimes felt a little uncomfortable...I would have liked her to have been at least 18. Also, I loved all the secondary characters in this story but there were so many that I sometimes got confused. Finally, there is one sharing scene in here and I know it bothered some other readers but honestly it didn't bother me. I'm not sure if it's because I was prepared or that I truly felt Micha's obsession of Riley but I didn't feel like it took away from their bond or relationship. However, it was quite abrupt and awkwardly thrown in.

Overall, if you like dark romance and B.B. Reid's When Rivals Play series, then I would suggest picking this up. I think it could have used a little polishing but from an all around perspective I really enjoyed it.

Triggers: Dub/con, bullying, attempted rape, violence, drugs, kidnapping, branding...I think I got the big ones.

The book started out okay with steady character building and story flow. Story wise it is quite intriguing with secret society, contractual marriages and a possessive alpha H (he still slept with OW after getting together with the h since he knew he was unable to have sex with h yet) who was ready to murder anyone who so much as look at h the wrong way. AND THEN all of a sudden, H allowed a threesome between himself, h and his best friend (also h's stepbrother)??? It doesn't make sense to me unfortunately. The scene seems forced like it is written for the sake of having a "hot" threesome scene rather than a necessary plot flow. Wish the author had also warned readers on the sharing scene on top of dark romance and intense sexual scenes.

Also, i find that though the author somewhat wrote about H's obsession with h and his feelings for h in the book, she failed to develop h's feelings toward H except for the way her body craved for him. I wish the author had done a better job with h's emotional development and the romance between the MCs.

I am not sure I want to pick up the next book since the said best friend and stepbrother is gonna be the H in the book..would there be another weird foursome scene waiting for us?? :(

Yeah... i did not like this book. There are 2 types on bullies. Like the ones who want to seriously hurt you/break you and then there the ones who do "just" mean shit. I don't like those extreme bully books. Hero was abusive to heroine from when she was 6. Like he broke her arm!!! Physically abusive hero. Degraded her at every step. Virgin Heroine ofc got aroused by it. Hero fucked around heavily, even after he made his plans known to heroine. He could not get heroine to what he wanted, so he did treaten to have her best friend gang-raped. I find it weak.. that he controlled heroine with fear for her loved ones. Multiple times.

I did not make it to that infamous "sharing is caring" scene, however there was a rape by heros brother at the end. Why no spoilers mentioned that (bad guy forced Mason to rape her)?
No mention of condoms..

3.75 🌟 loved how feisty the FMC is in this book. If you enjoy a obsessive MMC, this book has that as well. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending though, it felt a little rushed to me.

Not sue about this one 🤷🏻‍♀️

So not really sure how I feel about this one. Its a dark bully romance where the hero is both mentally and physically abusive to the heroine her whole life. My problem is that he never redeems himself even in a small way. No real explanation, no grovel, no nothing. We're just supposed to accept him as an @sshole. And that turns her on and makes her fall in love with him. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm still giving it 4stars because its well written, has a good storyline, and paced pretty well. I may give this author another try, but not sure.

Trope: Enemies to lovers
Story:⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Angst:😱😱😱/5
Smexy:🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
Triggers: dubcon, MFM sharing

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a good first effort but it definitely needed some work on clarity and cohesion. Not to mention most of the book goes by and the couple don't even kiss and yet they are falling hard for each other. The alpha Micha is just my kind of antihero OTT jealous and possessive and yet no kiss or hanky panky with the heroine Riley (who I loved) until like 70% in the book. Then there is the secret society that is going on that was not thoroughly explained. I didn't mind the typos even though they were there. I did love the overall premise and the antihero/heroine (Riley is such a feisty girl I loved her take no crap personality!) But I think the story needed more editing for cohesion and it could easily be a 5 star read an awesome series. I am looking forward to the second book and hope that it will be edited better to make this story shine.

I stopped halfway in.
Several plot holes and choppy.
I’ve read similar books to this and darker however, This had one page of content I am not ok with. And it’s NOT what the other low rating reviews have issues with.

Started this series because some of the characters appeared in Dylan Page's Ashes. The story is all right but the whole contract thing is just so stupid and ridiculous. It is difficult not to rolled my eyes whenever the contract was brought up or mentioned.

What a stunning debut!
I've re-read this book several times, trying to get my head around how this could be a debut book. There is such storytelling skill here and the characters absolutely sucked me in. Micha is a monster, but he's a very loveable monster and his mouse only humanises him more when every current and tide is dragging him further out to sea. There are only glimpses of the secretive Order of Ravens and Wolves in this book, but they are some dang tantalising glimpses - I'm desperate to know more of this Order and how it controls the town and its people.
It's also easy to overlook the strength and resilience of Riley in the face of the hurricane that is Micha. Riley is utterly out of her depth with Micha, but she never backs down, never gives up the fight. She's the rock he throws himself against again and again and she never moves.
This book is dark, so heed the warnings. Micha does share Riley but that sharing is completely consensual and in keeping with their relationship. The villain is not so considerate. For me, those scenes made this is a richer, more realistic read, but if those subjects trigger you, this is not the book for you.
Highly recommended.

WARNING: This books contains MFM (intimate scenes) - “Sharing” scenes.

I loved the beginning of this book since it had everything I loved: secret societies, murder, a jealous male main character, and the pure/virgin heroine (I know all the cliches). Then, it sort of took a nose dive.

Not by any means do I ever get annoyed with grammatical errors, but this one had enough to deter me away from the story. Also, there were no warning/triggers listed about MFM scenes. I understand that there are different strokes for different folks, hence why there should be a little warning for the people who are not a fan (Y E S, I’m one of them).

And I’m sorry, but I couldn’t take the sharing scene seriously! The entire book we heard the Hero literally trying to kill/beat people up who looked/breathed in the heroine’s direction. Then all of sudden he’s totally cool with sharing her (who he’s in love with) with his best friend? O D D & a total turn off. If you like MFM/Sharing scenes, I think you really would enjoy this then!

Another one bites the dust! I’m so sick of reading books where the h is all badass at first then completely changes into a frickin doormat! My god I’m so pissed! 😤 I wasted more of my time on another useless book!

What is it with these authors thinking we can’t control our bodies! 🙄 and why for the love of god does the h have to stay faithful while the H is a fuckin manwhore! It’s so frustrating!
I’M SO OVER THESE TYPE OF BOOKS!
I seriously need to read the reviews more carefully when it comes to bully romance…

yuuuhhhhhh do any authors who write about high school even remember what it was even like. I understand this was the author’s first book but damn, at least try to make the plot realistic. I was lost right from the beginning because random info was thrown at me with no context. The first chapter really got me thinking I was reading a PNR with the funky way they talked. AND THE WRITING OOP 😩😩😩😭✋ I ain’t ever trusting my reading groups recs again.

As the author said it is a dark romance and her writing is amazing. Riley character is so good she is a fighter through and through!! Micah is well micah (he gives me michael crist vibes of CORRUPT BY PENELOPE DOUGLAS) the story is also good with all the secrets and thrill. But only thing which i couldn’t digest is age, they can’t be only 16 yr O and do all the bad shit and sex stuff is too much for the young age. Other than that its def worth a read.
