This account of the Australian army in the Vietnam War is the successor to Ian McNeill's highly acclaimed To Long Tan and the eighth volume of The Official History of Australia's Involvement in Southeast Asian Conflicts 1948-1975.

Author Biography: Ian McNeill served in Vietnam with the Australian Army Training Team and subsequently wrote the acclaimed history The Team: Australian Army Advisers in Vietnam, 1962-1972. Ashley Ekins is a senior historian at the Australian War Memorial.
