Hawk I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be the President of an outlaw MC that thrives like the Blazing Saints. I became President five years ago after our ally chapter the Corrupted Saints took over. I wasn’t always a biker. I had a very different life before I joined an MC but suffice to say I wouldn’t change it for the world. My brothers and I may not always do things on the up and up always but we protect our own and those who need it. I never expected to have an old lady just yet but when she walks in with her beautiful eyes I was hooked. She needed me and I needed her more.
Hannah I ran away, I hopped on a flight and ran away. It was the only thing I could do. He was going to kill me. I couldn’t report him. Who would take my word against a decorated cop? I hope to disappear in the wind and that he never finds me. I’m moving in with my cousin but it’s not what I expected. She’s wrapped up into an MC and now I am. I never expected to feel safe among these men, but it’s one guy in particular who makes me feel home in the worst of situations.
When I read the synopsis of Hawk, I really wanted to read his story... I'm disappointed, because there was a lot of potential but I almost didn't finish it... There was serious need of editing. There were numerous grammatical errors, inconsistency in the timeline, continuous repetition of specific phrases and general information. In the first half of the book Hannah is assaulted at least three times... on the second half, she and Hawk are overcompensating about the lack of steam on the first half. It's a cum-fest... At least the ending was really good.
Over the past several years I've become of fan of MC romances, Kimberly I. Belle is a new-to-me author, and the blurb about Hawk: Blazing Saints MC series sounded right in my wheelhouse. As MC romances go this was quite a good read, with a number of likable characters, such as the hero, Hawk, President of the Blazing Saddles MC, and Hannah, the seriously beaten, raped and abused heroine, who, after the worst beating in her life, escapes the fists of her ex, gets on a plane and heads to visit Jen, her cousin, who, once she sees the condition Hannah is in, takes her to see Doc, an unaffiliated doctor who is also a member of the MC, after Hannah refuses to go to a hospital, and for good reason. It turns out that her abusive ex is a cop, and she fled him with only the clothes on her back, her birth certificate, passport and social security card, knowing that any more than that might make it possible for her ex to find her and beat her to death. Huge warning: If rape, domestic abuse, graphic sex and violence are triggers for you, find something else to read. But, for the most part this novel worked for me despite one major issue and a few minor ones, which I'll get to, but outside of that, I give this novel a 4 star rating.
The major issue I had with this novel was the appalling number of typos and grammatical errors, which drove this former English teacher, editor and proofreader into almost not finishing what turned out to be a darn good read. Perhaps it's me, but I expect a published author with at least 6 novels under her belt, to know the differences between "your" and "you're, " "to", "two" and "too," and "there," their," and "they're.," and that's not even mentioning the many other typos and mid-sentence tense changes I found. Where were the proofreaders for this novel? If there were any, I strongly suggest that Ms. Belle, find more competent ones in the future.
The minor issues were just that, minor issues, such as repeatedly being told that all the member of the MC could qualify as GQ models. I've seen a number of MC members in my 68 years on the planet, none of whom would even be considered to be movie-star handsome. However, Hawk, Doc and a number of the other leaders of the Blazing Saints, despite whatever illegal businesses they were involved with, were all kind, sweet, handsome, and very supportive of Hannah and Hawk's relationship. The fact that Hawk was financially set for several lifetimes also seemed a tad incongruous, but the elements of danger, sex, and cooperation the members of this MC showed to a battered, broken, black and blue heroine were both admirable and sweet.
Thankfully, the overt violence and feud between the Blazing Saints MC and a rival MC, The Devil Daddies, as well as the reappearance of Hannah's evil ex were, for the most part kept off-screen, but provided enough tension and drama to keep me reading until the early hours of the morning. If you can get past the issues I mentioned, I think you'll find this novel works just fine as a standalone, and the featured members of the Blazing Saints were all, for the most part, good guys and worthy of their own novels.
I loved Hannah and Hawk. Hannah was abused and ran to her cousin Jen where she meets the Blazing Saints MC. Hawk is President of them. I loved this story. It has heartache ( yes you'll need kleenex) , it is romantic. I liked how Hannah didn't just jump into bed with Hawk. I loved how Hawk helped Hannah but didn't push her into relationship. It's a fabulous story. I have read all of Ms. Bell'es books and glad to see a new series. Can't wait for more of them.
I love the story line, in this day in age a lot of things happen to good people who are abused I think the telling from both hawk and Hanna perspective is great. You can feel the love as they grow as a couple.
Well done Kimberley loved hawk i loved the way you portrayed the characters hope you will continue with the blazing guys cant wait for next series keep up the good wotk
Not a bad start to a new series. Though, it should be stated that there is sexual assault and abuse, for those who may have triggers.
I liked the leadership of the club, Jen- the cousin, Prospect Jimmy- but towards the end he falls off the pages ... booo to that, and I loved how Hawk is with Hannah.
I wasn’t a fan of how many times poor Hannah was sexually assaulted though. Nor reading a bit of it twice! But I like that Hannah actually gets help, seeks medical help, and doesn’t jump right into a sexual relationship with Hawk. I loved how she slowly works out being anything beyond friends at first with him. He was so good with her and to her. I also love how Hannah could put in the breaks to things and be straight forward. I liked that they didn’t have dumb miscommunication issues. There was enough drama elsewhere to fill the story.
I loved the ending, too!! But- I wish Jimmy and Jen hadn’t fallen off the pages towards the end. I do want to know who Jen gets with... please be Jax in the next book!!!
Only issues I had the most with: repetitiveness. Sometimes the same thing was said in the same paragraph, or said later in the same chapter or the next. I didn’t always need the same explanations over and over. Also, there were a few times when Hawk or the guys act like they didn’t know something when in fact Jen or Hannah had already told them prior. There’s a little editing needed with some grammar- but it wasn’t so much that it pulled me out from reading.
Ohhhh!! Also, I had a strong issue with the enemy MC’s name: Devil’s Daddies. No- just no. It’s a laughable name. The Daddies part kills it for me.
Also, I read Winger’s book from this author’s other MC series... let’s just say I have lots of examples how these two books become cookie cutter like. So many parts felt like replicas of each other with new names and slightly different details but the core of it was the exact same. It threw my reading off for Winger.
Hawk is book one in the Blazing Saints MC series by Kimberly I. Belle. The story looks at the characters Hawk and Hannah. Hannah is running away from her previous life under the rule of an abusive boyfriend, who has left her emotionally, physically and sexually scarred. Running to her cousin for sanctuary she comes across the Blazing Saints and more importantly Hawk, the President of the MC who takes one look at Hannah and knows that he not only wants to protect her, but also make her his!
The story has a lot going on in it, especially with things that happen to Hannah along the way ( a stronger woman would have been broken!) And do be warned that there could be triggers for some readers. But, saying that along the way, Hawk and the rest of his MC are on Hannah’s side, trying to keep her safe, not only form a rival MC, but also from her ex that is intent on causing havoc in her life.
Hawk is a domineering, hard man who wants to do right by his club and sometimes that means meeting violence with violence. Even though he doesn’t want it to touch Hannah, sometimes it does as this is the way with the MC. He also has a softer side when it comes to Hannah and her needs and helps her to build her confidence and strength after everything that has happened to her.
Scenes between the characters were very good and it was a good introduction into a new series. And there was some good tension between the Blazing Saints and their rival MC which kept you turning the pages.
First things first; I love the cover of this book! Hawk is the first book in the ‘’blazing saints MC’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. After escaping an abusive relationship, Hannah goes to stay in a new town with her cousin. Hawk is the president of the ‘’blazing saints MC’’. When he meets Hannah, he instantly wants her as his woman. With danger surrounding them, will Hawk get his woman? The chemistry between Hawk and Hannah is clear to see and I really liked them together. My heart hurt for Hannah. She couldn’t seem to catch a break. It was one horrific event after another for her. I loved how selfless she was when it came to her cousin Jen and her new found MC family. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
i wanted this book to be awesome, i love a good MC Romance. i have read ... gosh no clue how many .. i will always read them ... i enjoy them. now i get it there are ... well don't think i have ever seen an author who will have to smarts to now use cuss words ... there has to be away ... i would say ... i know you can!! you are way cooler than that ... but any who .. i guess some folks talk like that and i sure as heck was never allowed to ... so the F word was every where ...but it was not throughout ...which was kind of funny ... there were sections ... that i am almost positive that it was slim to NONE!! any who ... i enjoy the romance section ... the lust and pull there ...that part was fun .. interesting to see where the author would take us??! i see it is the only one out??! will there be more ... cool characters. the normal MC Romance sections and stuff. nothing that shocking. fun read. but could have been way more.
Hannah knew if she stayed with her ex she would die. His brutality only continued to escalate so Hannah flees and finds solace with her cousin Jen. Hannah does not expect to catch the eye of Hawk, the President of the Blazing Saints MC.
Hawk never expected to find an Old Lady but everything about Hannah has him knowing she is the one. The only problem is Hannah is very weary about getting involved. Hawk though wins her over the only problem is a rival MC is causing trouble and Hawk has to complete his club as well as his girl.
I thought this was a good book. I did get frustrated with Hannah who was quite I felt rude at times to those who had helped her out. I get why, it just bothered me through out the story. Otherwise entertaining story, liked the premise of this one.
Thoughts: So much drama and while I appreciate the restraint and the fact that it took so long for Hannah to jump back into a romantic relationship, I really wish she hadn't had so much trauma..on page at least. I hurt for her and it bugged me how blase she seemed about the fact that she was assaulted again after it happened. It was a good read though and I didn't find myself skimming much.
First thing I need to say is this book has some major triggers so take that into account before you decide to read 📚.
I struggled to decide on a rating for this so I'm going with 2.5 stars. The characters kept me engaged but I found the dynamics alittle odd. There were parts of the storyline that the author seemed to forget he had mentioned before and made a big deal of it again . An example of this was discussing Hannah Michelin stars this happened twice where Hawk was surprised to learn this.
I loved the caring side of Hawk, his patience and understanding of what Hannah had been through really made his appealing and made me route for them as a couple.
Story line sounded good so i downloaded it. The author needs help on the English language! She doesn’t know the difference between there/ their. Your/ you’re. Add in a doz more editing issues, missing words in sentences add extra words in sentences it makes for difficult reading! I am only 54% through the story and Hannah has been raped 3 times, slapped around 3 times, carved into with a knife, head split open etc. i just can’t finish this. Its awful!
A new to me MC series . . one of my go to genres. DNF @ 15% Writing was stilted and forced. The storyline was choppy. I have read and own MC series that, in my opinion, are better. For example: Chaos by Kristen Ashley Dartmoor by Lauren Gilley The Hellions MC by Chelsea Camaron Hell's Disciples by Jaci J Son's of Templar by Anne Malcolm Devil's Blaze MC and Savage MC, Tennessee Chapter by Jordan Marie Ravage MC by Ryan Michele to name just a few that I own the complete series of.
A 2.5. This could do with some better editing. There were a few instances of forgetting information had already been given. Eg: Hannah tells Hawk shes a chef, a few chapters later he says he had no idea she cooked. What I thought would be the great drama of the book happened around the 56% mark and was also resolved easily and quickly so the rest of the book seemed a bit like filler but I also didn't mind their story. I think the timeline of events could have been rearranged.
While i enjoyed this one, it was not one of my favorite MC books. I am planning on reading the next one however so i apparently liked it enough to do that:)
I don't know if it was my frame of mind while reading it, or what, but i just could not fully connect with either one of the main characters to totally immerse myself in the story. Again nothing wrong with it really, just not my favorite MC read.
It had such a good promise. There was too many inconsistencies. The FMC just really to make her go through all that she went through so many times....just give her a backbone and fight all the way. The FMC and MMC just seemed like they really did not have a connection like her and her former boyfriend (prospect Jimmy). They seemed more the couple. The author needs to reread the book and make edits and this could be a better book. Just my opinion.
DNF... it breaks my heart, this is one of the four books I have not finished. EVER! the storyline is actually really good, which is why i tried to stick it out and also why it's not a one star. the problem is the writing.. It felt like I was reading a wattpad novel written by a 13 year old in 2012. The way everything is described and the way the characters act just felt cringy
Hannah came from a bad relationship. When Hawk meet her he feels things that he never felt before. Hannah takes a while to heal from being raped and her bruises. Hawk falls in love with Hannah and she finally heals from her past. I love this book i just knew that Hannah was going to get pregnant. I will read this again.
WOW 😮 did not know how good this book turned out. Once I started to read it I am HOOKED! Hannah running for her life from an abusive ex. Hawk Pres of the MC is hooked at first glance. It has a great story line and hope Kimberly writes more on this group. Pick up up you won't be dissatisfied it had it all. 🤯🔥💖💥🍹
Great story. A soft MC story that won't put anyone off the biker world. In fact it gives cred to the clubs. BUT the grammar and spelling is a let down and does not reflect well on the professionalism of the author. Would recommend except for the grammar
This is Hawk and Hannah's journey. This story is filled with emotions, suspense, danger, intrigue, humour, witty banter, twists, trust, chemistry, challenges, and love which all leads to a riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I liked this first book in this series. I did get frustrated with Hannah, but the overall story was good. I did like the characters and will keep reading to see how they develop.
There is nothing better than hot alpha bikers. I loved how Kimberly gave us the drama and trauma right out of the shoot. Then she gave a little more. But next we got to see the growth and healing that we don’t always get. It was all perfectly biker.
This book grabs your attention right from the start and keeps it through the end. A major rollercoaster ride. Lots of twists and turns plus action and suspense. Overall a very enjoyable book.
Good book. Good storyline. No surprises. Needs a little something to pop in the story our the emptiness to make a higher rating. However, thank you for the read as I'm not able to do this. As it's the first book I'll continue and hope they progressively get better.
What a great start to a new series. There were some really dark places in here, but also lots of love. It’s great when known characters turn up in a book, I particularly liked that. Looking forward to the next one.
Loved it!. Can’t wait for book 2. Exciting book from the first page. I felt that it stuck on the main characters and didn’t drift to much onto others. Left it open to follow on books without giving too much away
