Curvy girl, Olivia “Livi” Taylor is done with men for good. In all aspects of her life—both professional and personal—men have always worked to destroy her, but this time they’ve succeeded. Her only choice is to move far away and start all over again, and honestly, she’s not that sad about leaving. Not when she’s still hurting over her last break-up. As soon as she ties up all the loose ends, she’ll be long gone, but that’s the problem. One of those loose ends is Levi Rivers, her ex-fiancé. After a lifetime of seeing the worst in men, Levi had made her believe in something more than love. He’d promised her forever, and she’d given him her heart. Unfortunately, when things got tough, he’d crushed it just like everyone else.
Levi Rivers, grizzly bear shifter, and the oldest sibling in the Rivers family, knows he messed up when he let Livi go six months ago, but at the time, he’d been too consumed with hurt and anger to chase after her. Though the feelings weren’t as strong as they once were, he still couldn’t face her. Not without begging for another chance, and he wasn’t willing to stoop that low. Not when he’d loved her with his whole-heart, and she’d run when he’d shown her his whole-self.
When Livi shows up unannounced, trying to walk out of Levi’s life forever, all the pent-up hurt, anger, and love he has for her battles for dominance, but even before he sees the pain she tries to hide, he already knows which emotion will win. He might still be angry, but she’s the only woman he’s ever wanted to claim as his mate, and neither time nor distance will ever change that. Now all he has to do is figure out a way to stop her from leaving, and then grovel enough to convince her to stay forever.
I was able to get early access to this book and really liked this story, except that there were a few things that held me from giving it 5 stars. The first one and I know it's kinda stupid, and I KNOw that many readers will think this the cutest part - are the names. I just can't handle a story between Livi and Levi. Yes, pronunciation wise they are not equal but "in reading"? A little bit annoying to go back... wait was that lEvi or lIvi. Especially if you think that there is literally a whole world of names to pick from, hell, even making something up might be possible in a paranormal romance. But okay, this was the first thing, the second is the following: Even the first description of Livi made me wary about her. If a real-life person would describe themselves the way Livi describes herself? I'd 100% slap an indulgent smile on my lips and get outta there. People who think of themselves as actually really nice and super capable and God's gift to a certain field but completely underrated by the whole world around them... who *think* people are afraid of their competence and awesomeness? Yeah... we think you're an (incompetent) a**, we're NOT afraid of you, we just can't handle your bs and don't want to be around you. So having the h saying exactly ~that ~ about herself wasn't the best pick up line in my eyes. So yes, what happened to her was shady and wrong and over the course of the book, we get to know her and know that she's a genuinely nice person... just a rocky start that would not have to be as rocky. This shifter romance is absolutely worth the read!
Levi Rivers is a grizzly bear shifter. Olivia “Livi” Taylor is Levi’s fated mate, but the two of them do not communicate very well and it led to the inevitable breakup 6 months ago. Now Livi comes back to tell Levi that she is leaving the area for a fresh start. He has only a short time to convince her to stay and come back to him. Can he do that? Can he honestly talk to her and help her to understand what this means? It would most likely solve her anxieties. But he will have to turn from his pride and be honest with her. And she will have to get over her idea that all mean are rotten and out to make her life miserable. Both of them need to grow up some and learn above all things that for a relationship to be successful, the couple must communicate!
Will Levi figure out a way to stop Livi from leaving? Is he willing to grovel a little to convince “negative Nellie” to stay with him forever?
I admit trust is a fragile thing to recover from, by how do you handle it? Let it fester, talk it out? Levi is the oldest of the Bear River brothers, but got his heart broken when Livi took off when he showed her his bear. It’s when she realized what she had done and came back to him, that the trust was broken. Or was it?
Open the pages of this book to a see how they handle their lives. There are funny moments, irate moments, moments you just want to shake or slap them, but in the end, they do work it out.

Love This Book 💖 I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing life and likability to every person. The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters.

Trust once broken Such a fantastic second chance romance. The author brought all I was hoping for the oldest River and more. As the oldest he always struck me as the strong silent type and regretfully that did not help him when it came to his fated mate. I was so glad that these two finally had to have their heart to heart and work out the issues that they were just letting fester. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to see what happens next with the River family.
When your trust is broken it can e impossible to regain but what if what you think you know is not actually true ? A shifter romance that is part of a series but is very easy to read as a stand alone and well worth the time to do so. Well written and sensitive with the usual big burly alpha male and a curvy /feisty female that doesnt take any prisoners when it comes to what she wants but can be broken as easily as a china cup by the one man she thought she could trust until she couldnt . Read these stories in any order because if you like shifter stories you will want to read all the others too

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Levi and Livi had the connection, the spark, the attraction. They did not have communication or trust. Levi knows she is his mate. The problem is that fate does not always take you down the easy path. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I am really enjoying this series

I loved Levi in ther other books, always the strong older brother but seemed so conflicted. Meeting Livi and reading their story explains why. As usual, it's well written. I can't wait for the next in the series.

The author pulls us into the lives of Livi and Levi and never lets go. They loved each other and were planning a future together until a misunderstanding caused a rift that each of them were too stubborn to correct.

How do you work through your problems? Do you sit and let them fester? Do you talk them out with the people involved? Well our story deals with these exact questions. The outcome of how it's handled is extremely funny and well worth the read. I mean how would you react if you were in Livi's shoes? I probably woulda acted quite the same way. At least at first. Then they woulda gotten my temper. What if you were in Levi's shoes? How would you have reacted?

Trust is a fragile thing hard to get and when lost can take forever to return if it does. Levi is the oldest River and broke Olivia's heart. She is ready to move on but can she.
Levi's pride might just cost him his mate if he does not go after her.
Loved the characters

Levi thought that Livi was his fated mate. But six months ago they broke up. Now she's come to tell him that she's moving to California. He has to find a way to stop her.

This novella is a quick read, but it is just too short to have enough character development. I wanted more backstory on both Levi and Livi. I also wanted more on their relationship before they broke up, since this story begins six months later. This novella gets 3 stars from me.
I didn't like Levi and Livi as much as I've liked the characters in the other novellas in the series. It bothered me that they split up earlier over one big mistake Livi made, and then they were both too proud to work it out. Then when Livi finally comes to talk to Levi again, he suddenly decides that he is going to do whatever it takes to get her back? Why wasn't he willing to do that sooner? And why did she automatically believe the worst of him after their breakup? I just had a problem with both of them and the way they behaved -- it just seemed like they both jumped to conclusions, and behaved a bit like children.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I was expecting to love this story as much as the first two. I was excited to find out the story behind Levi's heartbreak. But then I started reading, and met Livi. Try as I might, I just could not bring myself to like her. Her entire attitude of "all men are disappointing and do nothing but let me down" just got on my nerves. From the word go to almost the very end, she's very negative about all men. And for me, she was confident to the point of being cocky. Now, don't get me wrong, Levi played his part in their breakup. But the MOST annoying thing was that these tow fated mates never stopped to talk to each other. Had they simply talked instead of letting fear and pride get in the way, the troubles 6 months ago would have been merely a blip. But all this aside, I think it shows remarkable skill that Livi and Levi were so real to me that they could bother me so much. I love Ruby Shae stories, and can't wait to see what's in store for the final Rivers sibling!

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom/what you’re dealing with! Levi is a bear shifter who know who his mate is but yet too stubborn to admit he was wrong or to even ask why? Livi is just as stubborn and is complete in her belief that she saw what she saw and he isn't being honest so basically misunderstanding and no communication between the two of them so two stubborn people who love completely yet neither being willing to bend but funny how circumstances will force these two back together you see they were engaged and love is meant to be had. Once they have talked and gotten out the light of love comes shinning through but will it be enough for these two to have a happy ending.

This was an emotionally fraught story that stems from lack of communication and trust between Levi and Livi. I jumped into this series with this book, so while I found the other characters interesting, I don't have that connection with them yet....but I will ;) For our couple in this story, well, a lot of dark thinking and pride led to a lot of self fulfilling doom. It took some serious work to get these two together and have them actually talk. I loved the family dynamic and how strong they all were together; as family should be. And of course, chemistry sizzles, love abounds and yeah, a figurative smack in the head later, we have a great romance and a wonderful future. It's an enjoyable light read and it held my attention enough to want those previous books.
I enjoyed this book as part of a series and will continue to read the next installment; however, I did not find the heroine that appealing in this book. She's supposedly stong, but actually comes across as too whiny. Also, the author's resolution of a key conflict in the closing chapter was gratifying (yeah for the heroine) but incredibly unrealistic. Finally, this book has fewer details about the location and less interaction with the other characters, which is unfortunate given the heroine's career (e.g., plot device had heroine reflect back on a key discussion rather than providing the interaction). 3.5 stars out of 5 for me.

This was a great read that I found to be an amazing book with a well written story that had characters with amazing chemistry together. I loved Livi and Levi together, I loved their interactions together with him being a bear shifter and her being his fated mate. It's a great story about second chances, communication and trust. They have both been hurt and have a hard time trusting and communicating but their love finds a way for their relationship and their happy ending. It was an amazing story that I highly recommend and can't wait to read more.

"Levi, Levi, Levi.... he can't be more perfect because it would be illegal. I'm so in love with this brothers that's hard to choose one of them. They're all protective, caring, loving and so fascinating. Levi wasn't the exception. Both Levi and Livi (their names combined that's pretty awesome) never expected to see each other after how things ended up between them. To be honest I still believe that Livi reasons to run away were so unacceptable and way beyond silly but anyway they were mates and you can play with destiny. Nevertheless it was a good story just as expected. Can't wait for the next book!! I'm so ready for Lacey's story!"
Levi, a shifter, and Livi, his mate and fiancee, separate after he shows her his bear. Neither seeks the other out to talk it through so things get worse. They finally end up talking and then things get heated up. The twists and turns in this story cause truths to come out and feelings to be adjusted. Major moral of this story is if you love and care..... talk it out instead of running away. The ending is really good.

This is a very well-written book 3 in the Grizzly Bear Lake Series that has very strong main Characters and a great story. These characters are exciting, have chemistry, and are well-crafted. I cannot wait to read more in this series. A must read from a great Author and is a good addition to a good series. There are some really good twists and turns in this book with a bear shifter longing for a mate. Can he convince her to stay and be his mate or let his anger win out?
