Welcome to Dark Moon Falls, a secluded quiet town in the mountainous Pacific Northwest. This town has secrets. The local Wolf Pack has stocked the Police force but there are human as well. There is a full coven of witches. Stroll on down to the Hot Joy Café and have some coffee and a healthy dose of local gossip. If you are hungry Delight’s Diner is for you. Delight serves coffee, sass and the best food in town. For nightlife you need to get to the Wolf Inn. Dazzle’s is the store for you if you need some clothes or sexy lingerie.
There is a Tavern/bar in Dark Moon Falls called the Wolf Inn. Lyall loves a woman that comes in and out of his life never staying. Natalia is back to briefly to take care of her dead great aunts’ affairs and herbal farm. It will be quick and easy: Sell the property and get out of town. Do not hook up with the local hunky tavern owner. Selina, her great aunt had raised Natalia when her mother went ‘crazy’. Lyall is not going down this path again with a woman that does not want him like he wants her. Life and fate intervene in a Dark Moon Falls way. This was a page turner.
So this was much more a small town romance than a paranormal one. Like she could not have been a witch and he could not have been a wolf and it would not have made a blind bit of difference to the story.
I spent the first half of this book completely confused as to how this was a novella length story when it felt like we were on the set up for a full length novel. The answer to my confusion was that the second half just felt very hurried and underdeveloped. While I guessed who the baddie was a mile off, I would have liked more time engaging with their character and the justification for why they did what they did felt particularly week and ill thought through. I honestly think this book would have been better if it had been longer.
Natalia is in town to deal with her inheritance of her Tia’s herb farm. Staying in this town drove her mom crazy, so Ntalia feels the need to stay away.
Lyall knows Natalia is his mate. Though Natalia will not stay, Lyall will not date others. His hope returns every time she does, then his heart is ripped to shreds when she returns to the city.
Someone has it out for one of them. Danger, intrigue, and the irresistible draw of a fated mate makes for an enjoyable story.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
this wasn't bad, I liked the characters, but it should have been fleshed out more. I knew who the villain was basically from the beginning, the mates being separate and coming back to one another over and over again, and Nat not working through her childhood issues for 15 years....well it didn't all add up for me, just seemed neat and tidy for a quick ending. more meat would have made this book a 4 star book easy, if not more.
This was a quick read for me. I feel that the story focused repetitively on Lyall and his decades old love for Natalia. It took up so much focus it took away from the slight dangers within the story. There was a small amount of mystery surrounding the dangers in the book but I felt it focused much more on the thought to be unrequited romance between the two main characters. I enjoyed that they were able to find a balance between them and work out their happy ending.
Nothing like a game of tug of war with our hearts. From the beginning to the end. Loved it. It's a pure rollercoaster ride that leaves you never to leave your seats.
Awesome! This was a quick read easy to follw and enjoy. Tami does a fantastic job of telling a story. Next please more adventures, drama and HEA's hahahah
