A Cowboy for Christmas

Rate this book
Can the magic of Christmas overcome all? Christmas is Sarah Walker’s favourite holiday, and a white Christmas has been on her bucket list for years. When her world comes crashing down around her just months before the holidays, she figures what better time than the present. Heading for her brother’s ranch in Colorado to lick her wounds and mend her broken heart, romance was the last thing she was looking for. Jesse Colter has a soft spot for the ladies. He loves them in all shapes and sizes. The one thing his time in the marines taught him, though, was never to leave his heart vulnerable. There’s no telling when a loved one can be taken away. That philosophy is tested to its limits when Sarah crashes into his life with the force of a falling meteor. Will Sarah’s heartbreak and Jesse’s fear of loss prevent them from finding the love they both deserve? Or will the magic of the holiday season bring about a Christmas miracle?

After Sarah's world implodes on her and she loses her job, she decides to visit her brother in Colorado. Arriving, she meets Jesse who is her sister in law's brother. This was a quick read but packed full of emotions. Can Sarah let her guard down to let another man in her life after the last man played her for a fool? The characters were easy to connect with and I enjoyed this whole book!!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

A Cowboy for Christmas was a short and steamy Christmas romance. Reading it one sitting proved an effortless task.

Sarah, an executive assistant for an accounting firm as recently, had her world ripped apart. She discovered in the most humiliating manner that she had been dating a married man. Then, to add insult to injury, he fired her.To get over the sting of the humiliation, went to spend the Christmas holidays with her brother in Colorado. While there she met Jesse, a former navy seal turned Cowboy.

This story provided a nice and short escape from reality. Seeing as this was a novella, I had to suspend belief regarding the pace at which the romance developed. Especially seeing that she recently came out of a toxic relationship. That being said Jesse and Sarah had chemistry in spades.

The characters were sufficiently developed, which allowed me to relate to them as individuals.

The story had some light-hearted and dramatic moments which spiced things up. I wished the story had been longer as I believe there were events which, if allowed for further development, would have made for an even more exciting read. Nevertheless, the author did a good job of keeping the reader entertained.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Overall, I had fun with this book and would read more from this author.

Sarah’s life has just imploded in more ways than one. With her tail between her legs, she heads off to Colorado to her brothers Ranch. When she arrives, a very sexy Cowboy by the name of Jesse, is there to pick her up. Jesse is instantly drawn to Sarah, but knows there is something bothering her. Being the friend that she needs, he offers her comfort, but he can’t help the chemistry and the pull he feels towards her. While trying to rein it in, he also has to be mindful of his brother in law, who just happen to be Sarah’s brother. For the first time in his life, Jesse is sure of what he wants but when an incident happens; it could be the final nail that blows everything to smithereens. Can Jesse and Sarah find common ground, or will they finally listen to what their hearts want? This was a quick easy read, perfect for the holiday season. The story flowed and there was enough conflict and drama to keep you tapping those pages. The characters were likeable, as for the cowboy, I just added him to my Christmas list (wink wink). Overall a very enjoyable read

This was a great little story about two people , both who had been scorned in love . Sahra left her home in South Africa to visit her brother and his wife in Colorado the last thing she was looking for was a man and new relationship. She was hurt betrayed and humilated finding out that the man she thought she loved for two and a half years was in fact married . She was not expecting to find a hot dimpled cowboy waiting for her at the airport .

Jesse did Steve a favour by picking his sister up at the airport he wasn't expecting to find a beautifully broken angel .
He could tell Sahra was hiding something painful the minute he layed eyes on her and he vowed to find out who hurt her.
I loved the chemistry between these two characters , Jesse is such a kind hearted soul and is just what the Dr ordered for Sahra . Letting her defences down for Sahra was hard to do she felt guilty for the way she had been treated in the past and blamed herself for putting up with it for so long but Jesse soon showed her that not all men are tared with the same brush . I really enjoyed this short story by Dorothy Ewels and look forward to reading more in the future.

This book was absolutely fantastic and the storyline will definitely hook you from the beginning until the end and still keep you wanting more. Sarah Walker is on her home and has a secret that she hasn't told her brother but she's going home to try to piece back up herself but when her brother doesn't show up at the airport but sends a hit cowboy Jesse Coulter will sparks fly between them or will she be to broken to give into her feelings? This book was so good and I screamed at my kindle a few times but its use to it lol this is a short story but it's packed with so many emotions that it keeps you hooked. Great Christmas time book. Loved it.

A true Christmas romance with some angst and snow. Just what everyone needs to start the build up to the festive season. It has the pain from past relationships, the sweetness of getting to know you and new love. The family and a wonderful scenic place for it all to happen. It isn't a long read but if you like the little bit of magic and seasonal escape then I highly recommend this, just lose yourself for an hour or two.

Wow, what a riveting read! I read it in one sitting; it just kept me pulled along. The characters Jessie and Sarah were believable, the plot clever and the outcome satisfying. I really enjoy reading a book couched in excellent English where I don't have to re-word a sentence in my mind before re-reading it to make sense. Well done Dorothy.

A Cowboy For Christmas is a great little novella. Sarah finds out her boss and boyfriend is married when she is confronted by his wife. She is then fired and takes off to the US to visit her brother in Colorado. Her brother has an emergency and sends his business partner and brother-in-law, Jesse, to pick her up from the airport. She thinks he’s a hunk and he thinks she is beautiful. Can these two make a go of it? Settle into your favorite chair with a beverage and enjoy this one.

What a delightful, holiday read! And the fact that the main character is a cowboy makes it even better! Sarah is a young woman who needs a change in her life. What better way than to visit her family for the holidays. What she didn’t expect was to meet Jesse. When these two meet, you could just feel the attraction between them. But is Sarah really ready for a relationship? Jesse definitely is and is determined to win her over.

These two characters just make you feel good all over. They make you believe that there is someone out there for everyone. Not to mention, their chemistry is sizzling! You can just feel it in your heart that something special can come of this burgeoning relationship. I enjoyed their interactions and how they don’t rush life. They just take it day by day. I truly enjoyed this story and so will you!

Jesse and Sarah’s love story was quick and to the point. This was a good book and it would have been better with more character background on both Jesse and Sarah. Bad choices and unfair circumstances have Sarah needing to escape her home town and experience a white Christmas which she gets by visiting her brother and family in Colorado. Somewhat of a short story with enough context to keep reading to find out what happens next. We have a love at first sight situation that neither Sarah or Jesse were prepared or looking for.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This story is a quick read over coffee that will give you a smile. It’s just what I needed! Girl gets emotionally abused; family stands strong for her; and, she meets a friend who makes her world better. It’s short, has a sensual touch and I loved it. Thanks for making this morning wonderful.

Ah man what an enjoyable read. If I close my eyes to capture this book..it's Hard and Fast! Boom!
Sarah walks away from a world that she thought was real, totally heartbroken, never to trust a man again and having a near pregnancy scare, was enough to put her off men.
But when she puts her eyes on the fine Jesse, she already started feeling alive again. He is trying to shake off an old affair and trying hard not to rip off the clothes of sweet Sarah but knowing her heartache after she confided her past with him; he holds back. His hearts breaks when she decides to go back home, but all is not lost when he tells her how he feels, hoping it's reciprocated.
Absolutely lovely read!
