Douglas is very smitten with Dolores. And Dolores is quite smitten with Douglas as well. They enjoy picnicking in the park, going to the beach, and watching movies together. But there's a problem: one of them has STINKY SMELLY FEET! The smell is enough to knock Dolores out, which can be a trifle embarrassing in public. Douglas tries everything to make his feet smell sweeter; a bubble bath, perfume, and powder, but nothing works. Will this mean the end of their beautiful friendship? Bursting with kid appeal, this sweet (and stinky) romance will win the hearts of young and old.
Dolores i Dionizy skradli moje dorosłe serducho.
Eh, just a silly book about... you guessed it. Stinky, smelly feet. My little one didn't care too much for the story. And neither did I. The moral of the story was you can still love somebody with smelly feet. And that's a positive thing.
Funny picture book. This would make a class full of 7 year olds laugh pretty hard. The book was baout Douglas the duck who had stinky feet but his freind Dolores didn't mind becuase she cared more about thier relationship than some stinky feet.
This book made me laugh, which is difficult for books to do usually. It was a silly little book about two ducks in love, but there is one issue, one of them has stinky, smelly feet! It is so bad that every time the one takes off his shoes, the other one passes out from the smell. Finally, they find the root of the problem, the characters shoes are all very, very smelly. They throw out his shoes and the problem is solved. In the end, they also fell deeply in love. Like I said at the beginning, I enjoyed this little fun-read book. It kept my attention and it's wacky illustrations and story-line made me laugh. Kids would definitely enjoy this book as well as they usually love silly, wacky stories.

This is a hilarious story about two ducks who are dating but everytime he takes off his shoes, she passes out from the smell of his feet. He tries to clean them but it is no use. He is embarrassed but doesn't know what to do about it. Then one day, after he decided there was nothing he can do about it, they smelled an odor coming from the bedroom. They went to investigate and Dolores told Douglas that it is not his feet that stink, it is his closet of smelly shoes. The closet made them BOTH pass out. So they got rid of all of the shoes and they were both still in love...and it was a good thing, because it turns out the shoes were not the problem after all![return][return]This book is very funny and I think school age children will love it. The illustrations are bright and add even more humor to the story. For example, not only does Delores pass out, but everyone around does too! Palatini has written another hilarious book that kids will want to read over and over.

STINKY SMELLY FEET is a strange animal; the target audience is not clear. Based on concept - feet so stinky they clear movie theaters and kill fish - this is definitely a book for kids like my preschooler, who makes me "read" him this book almost daily.
Unfortunately I have to "read" and not read it out loud, because this book is too verbose to keep the attention of a smaller child (particularly one who'd want a picture book about bodily functions).
It makes us laugh and teaches about unconditional love, but the magniloquence knocks off two stars.
A love story for all those suffering through a life with smelly feet. My kind of book. And I'm not just saying that because I've been told that I have smelly feet on occasion. This was a very entertaining book and both the illustrations and the text were equally responsible. I liked it all. This might disgust some of the younger audience that her other books attract, but I liked it a lot.
Douglas and Dolores are two ducks who are quite smitten with each other. The only problem is Douglas has horrible stinky feet that knock everyone out every time he takes his shoes off. Lovely ending because although the stinky feet problem isn't completely resolved, it doesn't matter because they two ducks love each other.
All we really need is love, right? Well maybe love can not win over the overpowering odor of stinky smelly feet that can clear a room and knock several off their feet with their pungent odor. What are two smitten ducks to do when this foot funk threatens to come between their love???
Margie Palatini sure knows how to write stories that appeal to both kids and grownups! This one may be a 'love story' but don't let that dissuade you from reading it.

The cover (and obviously the title) caught my attention and I brought this home from the library. It was pretty silly, but it made me smile and the art was cool.
