Wow, this book was a roller coaster. This is a great story wrapped up in intrigue and suspense. I was unsure what to think when I first started reading, but the deeper I went the more intrigued I became. There is a lot left unanswered in this book, so I would not be surprised to see a second instalment to this tale.

New-to-me author
I loved the premise of the story, but man...the angst almost depressed me, lol. A few typos here and there, but overall a good read.

This was soooooo good!
E.J. Darling is a brand new author for me and if this book is anything to go by I'll be reading more of her books in the future. Everything about this was good. The world building was slow and revealed itself as the plot unfolded and the characters were complex and multifaceted. The secondary characters are just as intriguing as the leads and well, beg for their own story. Hmm hint, hint I do hope we see more of Zeke, his missing daughter Arlo and Keeli. That being said this thrill ride was all about Maeve and Teak. Maeve is a Human, earth has been long gone for our 500 year the few who escaped either became radiated zombie like monsters or were sold into s!avery. Maeve has been a slave all her life bought by a very wealthy and well respected Tallek male who has raised her, educated her and who has made her his personal assistant. Even more he sees her as a daughter even if she's not aware of it. She has been given more opportunities than many in the galaxy can say they have. On a mission for her " master" this s strong capable beauty finds her destiny in the slave markets in a desert planet. Teak the supposed last of his kind from a Race known as the Turnish. His race was known throughout the galaxy as fierce warriors and even fiercer lovers. What truly brought on the destruction of his homework and his people is vague and uncertain. What is certain is that he is an honorable male that ended up being sold into slavery by dishonorable people and that's where he meets the woman who will change his life. When Maeve sees Team for the first time it's as if time , space and all other surrounding cease to exist. She knows no matter how stupid it is she will not allow this warrior to be sold a toy for someone whims. Teak's attraction becomes something more like a wildfire , when he finds out what's she has done to save his life. What started out as feelings of lust turn quickly to the fires of love and passion. This starts and adventure filled with lies, intrigue, deceit, passion and so much heartfelt love that no sacrifice is to hard or to deep when it comes to protecting the one you love. I don't want to give any more away. You have to read the book. Maeve is a wonderful strong female lead and Teak will E’budar your new book boyfriend you compare any other too. I'm really hoping the author revisits this universe and these characters soon. Highly recommend💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Maeve is a human slave. She’s smart, brave, compassionate, kind and loyal.
Teak is strong, protective and honorable. I loved how he does everything in his power to protect what is his. He had to endure and do horrible things. I admired his courage and strength to survive and overcome all the dark times.
I loved their relationship and how they did everything to protect and care for each other.
I really enjoyed the secondary characters, too. Keeli is sweet, good and kind and Zeke is quite intriguing.
And the villain… I didn’t expect that!
The story is filled with action, drama, secrets, it’s very steamy and I really enjoyed it till the last page!

Better than expected
This author is new to me, so wasn't sure what to expect from her. This was a great story of redemption and self discovery for both the H and h. It sucked me in and kept me guessing with just enough intrigue to keep me invested heavily.
Great secondary characters too, and I'd like to read about their stories.
I'd recommend this author and followed her on my Kindle so I can be alerted when she releases new titles because I'll definitely be checking them out.

Space, slaves, and seduction
I really liked that Maeve was a person that expressed the full range of emotions, while at times falling apart and other times standing up so strongly for herself or others. I also liked the world building- the variety of species, locations, underbelly of society, and the power games.

Must admit it’s not my normal read but it was nice for a change. Teak & Maeve have a great attraction and bond with a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

Wow
This story is fantastic, the characters are awesome, the plot is imaginative and I just couldn’t put this book down . I went straight to Amazon and got more from this author. Lots of adventure, action, tension and joy, and an intensely happy ending. Great book

OMG move over guys! This is my book boyfriend now. What can I say? I loved this story. I was sad that it ended and want more. Give me more EJ Darling!!!!! Now!!!! Teak is a great character with a big heart and a big... I was hooked from the first page and couldn't stop reading.

Loved Teak and Mavelins story. The plot was excellent and the villain reveal at the end was a surprise! I hope in the future we get to learn more about Keelie, master Zeke and his missing daughter.

Found my new book boyfriend!!!! Seriously though. Hands off. This book was absolutely perfect. It pulled me in from the beginning and keep my entertained. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I loved all the characters, especially Teak.
