I’m running out of time to prevent the End of Days.
In an unfortunate twist of fate, I’m the bloody Anti-Christ, and everyone wants to take me down: light and dark angels, Magics, and a particularly annoying sheriff. It’s really pissing me off.
I’m outgunned in this fight, so I turn to the Fates, but their help won’t come cheap.
Someone is possessing holy people in New York City, turning them into terrorists. The Fates want him stopped, not because they’re swell witches, but because they think he’s hiding their Sight and out to get them. If I can somehow kill this ultra-powerful, voodoo-practicing madman, they’ve promised to help me.
But will it be enough?
My father tells me he has a plan that might just stop the end of the world—if I’m strong enough to complete it. I’d like to trust him, but... well, he is the Devil. Best devise a plan of my own, just in case.
Jeff Altabef lives in New York with his wife, two daughters, and Charlie the dog. He spends time volunteering at the writing center in the local community college. After years of being accused of "telling stories," he thought he would make it official. He writes in both the thriller and young adult genres. Fourteenth Colony, a political thriller, is his debut novel. Jeff has a blog designed to encourage writing by those that like telling stories. You can find his blog, The Accidental Writers Workshop, on The Patch. Jeff also rights a column for The Examiner under the byline - The Accidental Writer.
Every time I finished one of the Nephilim Thrillers I wonder how Jeff is going to proceed with the story. It always amazes me the imagination that comes into play with each new book. Our poor hero gets himself in a fix with making commitments to his father and his minions. Father Paul has been his connection to the light Angels. The Fates and their rival Magics and everyone one of them has their own agenda and less then truthful with Steven. How is Steven getting himself out of this mess without triggering the end of human race? On top of it he knows he is been betrayed by somebody but has a hard time believing it might be somebody close to him. I loved the portrayal of Lucifer and God that got an occasional chuckle out of me.
I don’t even know what to say about this book. I’m not even sure what I CAN say that doesn’t give the whole thing away. It’s filled with twisty intrigues that leave Steven questioning the motives and loyalty of everyone around him. And yet, at the heart of it all, there is hope. I have a word of warning for the rest of the tender-hearted out there: keep the tissues handy. The ending is an emotional roller-coaster, and you’re probably going to need them as badly as I did. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
I just love this series, and this latest book is no different. As fast paced as ever, full of details and twists and turns that surprise you along the way. Fantastic character work - tons of flaws, failings and endearing qualities, even for some of the "vilains". This one is a real page turner, and so much fun to read.
An excellent tale of possibilities, second chances and the power of love. Action, twisty story, and a keen look at the possibilities of redemption, and changing a lifes path in unexpected ways. I really enjoyed this book in the series best so far!
Devil’s Day book 4 I received this book for free as an ARC for my honest opinion. I love this authors work, the characters he writes about come to life on the pages and the storylines keep you engaged. This book is no different, it’s intriguing, supernatural components, in a dystopian end of days theme. Steven has such a witty nature, is smart and thinks quickly on his toes in dangerous or action packed moments. As in the last 3 books of this series, there was a lot of activity and excitement throughout the story. There were many unique characters full of personality. I enjoyed this book as I have the others in the series, this one also kept me wanting more and I will be patiently waiting for the next installment! I would love a happy ending for Steven and his pal Hank. I recommend reading the series.
What a whirlwind. So much happening with these awesome characters. I'm not sure if there will be more books in this series, but I hope there will be. But if not, this was a great ending. Loved it!
