James T. Baumgratz works tirelessly to put together this very detailed, engaging and unbiased account of real-life murders and mysterious deaths in the modernly quiet County of Elk. Being from there myself, it was so cool catching a glimpse of our European-Immigrant roots and how often ethnic factions in the county seemed to play a role in both violence and perjury. And, of course, how heavily Prohibition / Bootleggers weighed on violence in the region. Also fun recognizing surnames, street names, and even pictures of houses shown. Nicely done, James!
