I received an ARC of this book from the author, Indiana Wake, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I loved this heartwarming love story of Sarah and Gabe. Gabe is the oldest of three brothers who fought in the war and all made it home safely to find out their father had died and their mother was struggling to keep the ranch going. They bring it back to life but the mother worries about her sons being lonely so she advertises for a mail order bride for Gabe since he is the oldest. She doesn't tell Gabe and Sarah, a widow, who is raising a orphan boy accepts the marriage proposal thinking it was Gabe she has been writing. When Sarah and her son arrive in Oklahoma, Pamela, the mother meets her at the station. She confesses that she is the one who Sarah has been writing to. Gabe doesn't find out what his mother has done until his mother returns from town with his mail order bride and her child. Needless to say, Gabe is very upset but interested. Will Gabe give in and marry Sarah? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend this book.
This was an amazing story about three young brothers coming home after the Civil War. (Est. date 1886)
Sarah Carter, a widow, now a Mail-Order Bride rode from Atlanta to Fort Towson, Oklahoma with a small boy, Isaac on her knee in the coach. Her red hair down her back is blowing from the wind. Their mother, Pamela thinks her three Camargo young men needed wives, Gabriel being the oldest, Bart, and Mitcah. Their mother knows she can help!
This was an interesting books as the to-be-bride approached the ranch. Of course, the mother is excited about the bride she picked her out. I enjoyed this fast, easy to read, well written book. I recommend this book for teens and everyone. It is a good, clean, historical, fictional, story on a large ranch. It has vivid well described characters. The plot was well written and easy to follow. And the setting described so well it feel as if you were there.
Gabe and his brother's have returned from the war and are busy managing their family ranch after their father's death. Starting with Gabe Pamela finds Sarah, a widow and a mail-order bride and corresponds with her posing as Gabe. Sarah comes to Fort Towsnd to marry Gabe but will he come to terms with this arrangement and accept Sarah as his wife? This is a story filled with action, suspense and romance. One you won't want to miss.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Pamela has three war torn sons, whom she has decided need wives to bring them joy again. Unfortunately, none of them share that thought. So, she takes matters into her own hands and writes to Sarah as Gabe. Sarah is a war widow who has taken custody of a toddler named Issac. His parents died tragically. She arrives with Isaac in tow. Pamela didn't even know about him. When Pamela meets Sarah at the stage, Sarah is wondering where Gabe is... and how will Gabe react when she gets to the ranch?
Short story, 20 pages shorter than advertised, but I enjoyed it. Clean, with no sex, but there was several curse words, but not terrible.
This is a very great western romance. A middle aged lady that owned a ranch had 3 sons that had been in the war and she had decided they needed to be wed. She started sending out mail order bride letters for the eldest pretending to be him without telling anyone. When his bride to be showed up she took her aside and told. Her the truth. Now will Sarah and Gabe accept each other or will it only cause more problems
Pamela decided she was going to find wives for her sons. So she sent for a bride for her eldest heartbroken son Gabe.Sarah arrives at the ranch thinking she was to marry Gabe. Gabe knew nothing about his mother writing to Sarah to come as his bride. With Sarah’s steadfast care and deciding to just stay whether Gabe wanted her or not, all comes right in the end!
This is a sweet mail order bride story with adventure and excitement. It was written by Indiana Wake and Belle Fiffer. They have done a great job with the plot and the characters in this tale. One determined mother, here hardheaded son and one beautiful widow come together in this story. You will enjoy discovering how Gabe and Sarah find their happily ever after.
When the mother of three bachelor boys decides to try matchmaking for them, they have no defense. Gabe, as the oldest, was the first. His mother had written for him because she wanted a daughter-in-law and grandbabies. She never expected the widow to come with a young son already.
Sarah, Gabe and Isaac a great way to start a marriage. Sarah a sharpshooter and a great prospect for a wife with her young charge Isaac make Gabe a great team. Another great book in this series. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Writing to a prospsctive bride is fraught with danger if the groom knows nothing about it.
I did enjoy this book by Indiana Wake and Belle Fiffer featuring a widow who has a heart of gold but no pension, forced to travel west to be a mail order bride.
On this is going to be a wonderful series! Having a lady proud of her matchmaking skills the men in the town will have some interesting times. I love Sarah being so strong and proud besides she comes with a lot of surprising gifts.
Typical story of long distance romance with a twist. Emotional wounded soldier matches wits with grieving widow. Enjoyed story and will be reading others.
