I have always been the hunter... until I'm suddenly the prey.

Someone or something knows that I'm looking into my brother's death, and now I've become the next target on their list. Death and danger have never frightened me before, but then again, I never imagined there was anything in existence that my powers wouldn't work on.

Apparently, I was wrong.

Dwade, Bron, and Lucian want me to stop this search. They want me to be safe more than they want the truth. But they should know me better than that, dark fae aren't exactly known for turning the other cheek.

Vengeance is what I want, and vengeance is what I'll get. I only hope my light fae are smart enough to let me risk my life alone.

I'm willing to die for the truth. As long as the men I love can stay safe.

Only, what if uncovering this secret condemns us all?

RUIN is the second full book in a steamy reverse harem romance series. These books have a spooky edge, hot scenes, and a mystery to unravel.

Lacy Carter Andersen has one big problem, one thing that's really starting to bother me. Her books are too short! Every time I'm in it, really addicted and not able to pull myself away from the story, it ends. And in this case it ends with a horrible cliffhanger on top of that! How dare she? How dare she pull me in like that, time and time again, only to leave so soon again and to keep me waiting for more like some addict?

This book starts where the previous book ended. This means there's no more build up, no more dull moments. There's a lot of action in this book and most of all there's a lot of danger. It kinda feels like our main characters are never truly safe and even as a reader I feel the pressure of the race against the time and the unknown people. Lives are at stakes, the future of the race is at stake and although we as readers know more than the characters watching them figure everything out is quite exciting.

I also really love the struggle our main character is having and the discussion linked to her crisis. If she's a dark fae, how can she have feelings? And how could her brother, very much a light fae, use powers only meant for the dark ones? Every revelation, every emotion, has a huge impact on our heroine and on the people around. And considering what we're learning in this book, it's gonna have a huge impact on society.

Because on top of a struggling heroine we also have quite active politics. There's so much going on! There are so many players with influence or without. Our point of view characters are not really in the middle of it, although I get the feeling they are slowly moving towards that middle, but what we see is so interesting and sickening at once. In a very light hearted way this story actually shows how easy it is to convince people of very dangerous ideas.

So, when will I get the next one? Because that cliffhanger was brutal!

Ruin is the second book in Lacey Carter Andersen’s Royal Fae Academy series. Book two picks up where book one left off and races ahead full speed. Esmeray is intent on discovering the truth behind what happened to her brother, and even if that means learning some secrets that someone else wants to keep locked away in the dark.
Ruin progresses forward with Esmeray’s story and her struggle to accept the three men who have come to love her over the years. I have to admit that I liked this book better than I liked the first book after the prequel. Esmeray is a bit more balanced in this book, but then she starts getting on my nerves again. We get more of the guys with this book which I really appreciated. It meant I had to deal less with Esmeray’s…attitude…and sorry not sorry…ignorance at times. I will say that the author reveals some secrets with this book and one that is connected to Esmeray. I’ll admit…this revelation causes me to look at her in a different light…to an extent. I like that we get some chapters with the stranger in the tunnels. His story really interests me and I’m eager to see how he deals with everything that is going on and soon to happen.
In the prequel of this series I liked Esmeray…for the most part. LOL! Book one…I couldn’t stand her and wanted to give her a smack to see if she’d straighten up. As I said above, Esmeray is a bit more…balanced in this book, but she’s quick to fall back into what she believes is who she really is. The author lures me into thinking that once Esmeray will use her brain and have some sense…no. LOL! Esmeray abandons the guys then wants to get mad (?!) at them because they choose to ignore her?? I’m like…Esmeray! Make it make sense! There are a couple of missed elements in this book as well. There is a scene with Esmeray. The author has a scene where something is thrown on/at her, but then never mentions it again. What was the item? Was it not important to come back to?
I’ll admit, this book is better than the first. Esmeray in this book stops trying to be the big loud sore thumb on campus and actually tries to blend in a bit. She’s just still petulant and bratty to the guys and wants to constantly hold them to a twisted standard that makes no sense. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and the cliffhanger…OMG!!! If you hate cliffhangers…you’re not going to like this book because you get TWO! You’ll understand if/when you read it. LOL!
If you enjoyed the first book, the actual first book not the prequel, then I’m willing to bet that you’ll devour this book. If you’re like me and book one left you on the fence but you still enjoyed it then I encourage you to pick up this book. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I neeeed book three and soon! I have to find out what happens next. Things are getting intense and I honestly don’t want to miss out on what’s coming.

I don't know where to start with this review. I mean we have more character development and emotions. So we get to the nitty gritty here. Esmeray is on a trail to finding out what her brother was up to before he died. Only now things are trickier and unpredictable. The guys Bron, Lucien, and Dwade are so in love with her it is crazy cute. However, we have a new player in this game of dark and light! Lets just say everything just got a whole lot more interesting. Let's not forget the extremely hot smexy scenes. Lets not forget the fighting scenes which one was unexpected and the other well they deserved it. There is tragedy in this book as well and I chocked up. The feels in this one is intense. I cannot wait for the next book because the evil plan set in motion has me internally screaming. I need to know how everything is going to go down. Let the waiting begin.

Better than book 1. But still lacking and it's annoying because it could be a great read. I just find the style of writing is for such a plot with so much potential too simple...not sure simple is the right word. But it just misses out on opportunities to add depth in the easiest places.

Even though it is all so meh, it is an easy read, and the potential of the plot is enough for me to carry on reading. I just know I will forget most of this, and am thankful the books are short. If the style had been better and more filling I am sure it would have been a nice long read, allowing me to dive into the world, bond with the characters and start to feel more when dark things like being kidnapped or a great battle happen.

In the end, I still can't name all the names, they are all distinct but just surface level in build, just like the world build, just like the smex and smut which could be hot but is lacking.

I am loving this series! Well written this is the second full book in a steamy reverse harem romance series and I totally recommend that you read book one first! With kick ass and tough heroines, and sexy and protective men, it’s non stop, fast paced and will leave you breathless with all the twists and turns. I so cannot wait for the next book!

This is the second book in the series and picks up right where book 1 left off which is great because it's full tilt right off the bat.

Ruin is fast paced and action packed. Couldn't put it down once I started, but the ending came way to fast and definitely left me eager for more.

My, oh my, this book!!!! Off-the-charts amazing and needing more! I am really loving this new series – the mystery will certainly pull you in, the suspense will keep you on edge, the action will keep your pulse racing, the characters are fabulous (Esmeray is the best and the guys each have their own separate personalities that draw you to each of them in a different way) and I love the unique spin Lacey has written with the light and dark fae. I cannot wait to see how this series plays out.

So, so much happens in this book and it is all fast-paced and dangerous with so many unexpected twists and turns. This story jumps right in starting where the previous left off and goes non-stop. I enjoyed finding out more about the mystery tunnel guy, I cannot wait to see which way he goes in the next book – will he stay true to his training and obey his master or will he choose his own path, what he desires, and help Esmeray? And I really want to know what she and her men will think when they find out his true identity. And also who all is involved in this secret society that is killing off the dark fae and wanting to take over!!! I am wondering what level of betrayal will be exposed when the answers come out?

Esmeray and her men have already been through so much and now with their relationship on even more rocky ground due to recent circumstances and the appearance of a mystery guy and then Esmeray having a huge target on her back and the guys trying to protect her at every turn. She hates being scared and feeling vulnerable and she is not used to needing or trusting others but she is finally coming to realize that if she truly wants to find the answers surrounding her brother’s death and who all was involved she needs to open up to the guys and let them help her, depend on them to have her back and to help save her life. All of their emotions are on overload and they have more questions than answers and none of them know who they can trust so that just ramps up the nail-biting suspense even more.

And right when you think maybe, just maybe there may be an answer or two – well…there is another shocker to turn you a different direction and then there is the ending. The epic cliffhanger that has you grumbling you do not have the next book at your fingers. Just wow - love it!!!

First off, this is book two. Ravage MUST be read first. There’s also a prequel, Revere, which you don’t have to read. I read it after I read Ravage and recommend it. Anyway, let’s get on with the review:

I’m honestly blown away by this author. She’s becoming a favorite of mine. Her writing is absolutely brilliant. Flows easily. Sucks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until long after you finished it. Definitely loving her books!!

This book picks up immediately after book one leaves off. We see a whole new side of Esmeray. She’s vulnerable, scared, confused, as well as her usual traits. All this causes her to be an even more bada** heroine. I absolutely love her. The growth her character goes through is beautiful to watch. She easily becomes a piece of your heart making it all the more amazing. Bron, Dwane, and Lucian are even more ready to put their lives on the line to keep her safe. They are growing more towards one another the more the story progresses until and unexpected hurdle comes their way. Can they overcome it without pushing Esmeray away? I absolutely love that we get more Malin is this story bringing with him a huge twist! He’s fierce, loyal, and loves his tunnels. He faces uncertainty as the story moves forward. I love his character.

This story has some very huge, unexpected twists that leave you shook. It’s actioned packed and very captivating. New friendships are made, lots of people are killed, and some unexpected advice is handed out. This series is so amazing! What an adventure to escape into during these trying times.

There is a HUGE cliffhanger. So be forewarned. I am needing book three ASAP. I need more!!

The second book of the Royal Fae Academy series exceed the first one in everything, and I enjoyed every single word.
New characters enter the scene that can bring some turbulence - not only Abigail's sister, but first and foremost Malin, the mysterious young man living in the tunnels with a strong connection to Esmeray. His very existence was kept secret for a long time, and now his time has come to emerge from the underground and try being his own person again. For Esmeray, life also takes some interesting turns, especially involving Bron, Dwayde, and Lucian. Yet Rayne's legacy is driving her forward, maddening her on occasion, driving her crazy, or chilling her bones.
And now, she is the next target.
Fantastic read, fast and entertaining, with some steamy scenes that make the heart race and blood boil, and complicated relationships that bring forward a wide scale of emotions. I totally enjoy the interactions between Esmeray and her men, and love the twist with Malin entering the whole picture. The more we get to know about the Raven society, the more I get intrigued, and the ending got me totally hooked for the next book. Thankfully I have it already on my e-reader so I can start right away, learning the fate of the Dark Fae and the bond between the ruling families of the east.

🛡️🛡️ONE TANTALIZING JOURNEY🛡️🛡️
Speechless! Lacey unleashes one action packed, hard hitting, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, page flipping bombshell, raising the stakes and keeping it real, thrusting this baby to life spectacularly. A roaring tempest of dubious mishaps and suspicious events, swirl with the arduous trials and thrilling tribulations, alongside the deadly twists and daunting turns, keeping you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat. Caught in a vicious game of daring drama, underlying threats, perilous intrigue, unimaginable loss, malicious acts, dark paths, escalating danger, spiraling suspense and unnerving situations, maneuvering through the cunning manipulation of heinous deeds and sinister intent, kicking ass and delivering vengeance, propelling this jewel to a whole new level. The characters, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, adding depth and diversity, transforming into formidable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and graphic descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Incredible job Lacey, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

I love watching this series unfold! More secrets are uncovered, more fae are dying, and Esmeray learns how complicated a relationship can be. I felt like the steam and mystery were pretty balanced in this book, but I still need more and can’t believe there’s only one book left.
I was right and I do have a new favorite character, Malin. He is dark, dangerous, and mysterious, even to himself. I liked that Esmeray was having difficulty processing emotions. It really shows how shunned she’s been and that she’s trying to figure out what she did or said wrong instead of ignoring it. I still don’t have a connection to Bron, Dwade, or Lucian, but I liked seeing that they weren’t your typical light fae even if the reason for it wasn’t good.
We also met Abigail’s sister... is it wrong that I wanted to punch her through the pages? How can you call yourself a light fae and pretend everything is perfect after something like that? Things at the end of this book take an even darker turn and with that cliffhanger I’m left on the edge of my seat. I have a feeling how things are going to go and who is behind it all, but at least I won’t have to wait too long to find out.

Book two of the Royal Fae Academy kicks off exactly where book one finished. Only now we have another guy thrown in. I spent the beginning of the book wondering who this mysterious man is, after a few small hints along the way I finally sussed it out. There is a lot of action piled into this book and I couldn't put it down after the first page.

I absolutely love the FMC, Esmeray, she's a dark fae living in a light fae world and trying to make sure no one finds out about her but there are some who still have their suspicions. She has feelings for the guys in the story but even she doesn't fully understand them. And they guys well they are just hot, and totally in love with her no matter what they say. Because Esmeray doesn't fully understand her feelings for the guys there is definitely a lot of tension at times between them all, and throwing Malin into the mix definitely doesn't help.

And what a cliffhanger at the end of the story which leaves you desperate for more and begging for book three.

Now, this is what I wanted from Ravage. Lacey Carter Andersen shines with her newest Royal Fae Academy novel, Ruin!

Ruin advances Rayne's murder mystery, explores further the super-secret-search, and expands upon the evergrowing threat. Now Esmeray and ALL her men are in danger. It's too late to go back, and stopping is out of the question.

Ruin hits the mark. Esmeray reads as weak to me in Ravage; she was moody and bratty. In Ruin, she is made stronger by accepting help from her guys, not by being that character you hate for being a dumb B--. I found myself behind Esmeray's actions in Ruin. Yes, Esmeray! Yes! Stupidity looks terrible on you.

Oh my goodness this was soooooo good. Like amazing.

It obviously takes off where the last novel left off, and the plot keeps thickening, dramatically so.

Mysterious tunnel man now has a name (and a potential real name) and I love him so much more! I really feel for him because of his situation and how confused he is.

The FMC is amazing and really developing as a character and really starting to connect with the guys (who are awesome).

Hot hot hot moments are ahead in this one people, and its just the right amount of steaminess that it doesn't hamper the plot (but don't fret for the steaminess is aplenty).

I again read this in 2 hours and then yet again fell of the biggest cliff ever and splatted straight into a book hangover (help me please, I just need the next one).

This is shaping up to be one of the best and most unique academy series I have read.

P.S. If you haven't read it or the prequel what are you waiting go go go to awesomeness!

So Ruin is book two in the Royal Fae Academy series. I would recommend reading this series in order. So I would start off with the prequel Revere, With Ravage ( book one) and now Ruin. I have really come to love reading this author for how her writing is. There are some authors where you do not connect to the characters, pace or writing style. Not so for Lacey, I have enjoyed each and every one of her books I have read.

So Ruin pretty much picks up where Revere leaves off. Esmeray is a great character that you find yourself rooting for. Watching her grow has been fun. Course she does have three hot guys in Bron, Dwane and Lucian to help her out. They would do anything for her and you can see that. Makes your heart beat faster for their love for her.

There is a lot happening with twists and turns, information coming at all angles, friendships made, and relationships to strengthen. There is a pretty big cliffy so be warned on that one. Overall a great addition to this series.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

Why Why Why!!!!! Why must this book end on a cliffhanger! I really love this series and am sooooooo loving Bron, Lucian, Dwade, and Malin. I also love Esmeray she is really a kick butt kind of girl. This book really shed a lot of light on some questions that I had before..... I will just say that when I read the last book I totally called it with Malin... but who knew he would be so important. I am excited to see more of a violent Bron and Dwade. I NEED the next book like now......I won't die or anything but I was going through withdrawal lol. I can not wait to read the next book! Great Job Lacey Carter Andersen another series that is absolutely the best! P.S. I hope Esmeray brings everyone to their knees (evil laughs)!

Book two of the The Royal Fae Academy. This book picks up right where we left off in the first, and there are even more twists in this one!

Esmeray is still looking for her brother’s killer, while exploring the tunnels under the Academy she realises that there is a lot more to her brothers death than she first thought. As Esmeray gets closer to discovering the secret she is not only putting herself in danger but also the men that pledged to protect her. When it comes out that Dark Fae start dying they know it's only a matter of time before they come for Esmeray...

Ruin is full of twists and turns and packed with secrets. Yes, some secrets are resolved but there are plenty of secrets that have been uncovered. With a handful of hot men, a killer on the loose, and a cliffhanger of an ending it certainly leaves you eager for the next instalment!

This is an incredible fantasy series. Esmeray is a tough, independent dark fae, but if she wants to find her brother’s killer and those who are hunting her, she will have to learn to trust and have faith in her light fae mates. He guys are protective and are more concerned about Esmeray’s safety than her vengeance. Both sides will need to give a little for them to all get what they want. This is definitely a page-turner. It picks up where the first book left off, with more action, heat, mystery, suspense, surprises, twists and turns. I am completely hooked on this series and the mystery. I want to know what’s going on and why as much as Esmeray.

Warning: There is a cliffhanger at the end if that kind of thing annoys you, but I think the next book will be out soon.

Holy smokes... this was hot! Book 2 in the Royal Fae Academy really delivered on the story that started in the previous book. The characters got better, the secrets got bigger and the mystery got darker. Esmeray is a brilliant character, she’s strong, badass and no nonsense. She thought she knew what she wanted in book one but as everything intensified in book 2 she starts to question what’s really right and what is good for her. I’m definitely intrigued by Malin, there is a secret that’s hinted to but I just want to know more. Bron, Dwade and Lucien are all written really well, they’re individual and I like all of them (the steamy scenes are pretty hot too...!) I definitely can’t wait to read book 3. Ruin was definitely worth reading and I highly recommend!

OMG This was a fantastic addition to the series!! Book two picks up where book one ended and right away the plots keeps thickening. We also see a whole different side of Esmeray which I kinda like make her more relatable. The transformation and growth her character is going through is definitely a sight to see. So add the facts there plenty of intrigue, action, suspense, mystery, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end and you have a helluva read. It does once again end on a cliffhanger but I'm so interested to see what else is in store for this series. As always my review are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This story touch the subject I’m really vocal about, persecuting someone because they are different. This book is dark. With dark secrets, dark plans and dark society. It’s filled with light fae rilled with dark ideas. It’s full of dark tunnels and dark minds. But for dark there need to be light somewhere, and there is. Question is if the fight, the struggle, the research and the sacrifice can be enough. If friendship, bravery and love can save it all. This book keeps your attention from first page to last, sometimes you forget even to breath. I loved it as much as I hated it. Only thing I can hope is ... getting my hands on next part sooner than later because this cliffhanger will kill me.

Book 2 picks up immediately after the cliffhanger ending of Book 1 as Malin tries to kill Esmeray as she is leaving the tunnels after a night of hot sex. Fortunately, she senses the danger and just barely escapes with her life. Malin's unidentified master commands him to kill her, but Malin feels reluctant. Someone else is trying to kill Esmeray to prevent her from learning secrets the Raven Society wants kept secret. Then her father is killed, as more dark fae are ending up dead. She is next on the list. We find out who and what kind of creature Malin is. The book ends on a cliffhanger with Esmeray being burned at the stake, Dwade and Lucian locked in a chamber with a shadow beast, and the Raven Society openly purging the dark fae.

Can her men save her? Esmeray uncovers some of the secrets her brother found but not all. Until she finds all of the books he hid and lets the world know the truth she is in danger. Someone is killing all of the dark fae and if that happens the light fae will be next. She is finally trusting her three men and they are helping, but what about the man in the tunnels He attacked her but when she is in danger he helped her. And there is something about him that she is drawn to. Can Dark Fae have fated mates? Her parents always said no but was that the truth? She’s finding out that almost everything they were told about dark and light fae is false. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

Adds more questions and troubles to everyone’s plate

Esmeray, a fae with secrets to keep, has decided to let Bron, Dwade, and Lucian, fae with their own secrets and her brother’s best friends, help her in her quest. As the story progresses feelings are bruised, a fragile friendship is formed, and the danger gets even closer. Ruin is a great addition to the Royal Fae Academy series by Lacey Carter Andersen. Leading the reader on a quest right along with the characters. This book adds more questions and troubles to everyone’s plate, even though they were already full, and causes a lot of much needed soul searching to be done.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Deeper into the shadows

As Esmeray navigates the line between Light and Dark (Fae, that is) we see a side of the Academy which goes unnoticed in the Light. Her search for her brother's killer or killers drives her, but will her single-minded focus blind her to other answers which await discovery? Enemies prowling in the light and allies obscured by shadow leave Esmeray walking a dangerous path. Can her mates save her, or will the flames devour what might be her best chance to find the truth?

Lacey Carter Anderson weaves a suspenseful tale, and draws us further into the safety of the shadows even as the play of light and dark leaves us reeling. Edge of your seat storytelling at its finest!!

I love this series. It is so full of mystery and suspense. It draws you in and doesn’t let go until you reach the end. The characters are stunningly, beautifully developed. They have magnificent personalities. I love how strong they all and how they complement each other. This is a fantastic story that is amazingly written. I love how determined Esmeray is to find out who killed her brother. They guys sometimes drive me crazy because they hold back. But otherwise, is is fantastic. Definitely a must read!!!!

OMG - Thankfully this is a rapid release series as i really need the next book now!! That ending!!. Lacey certainly knows how to draw you in in and hold you, This is probably one of the best series that i have read recently and i couldn't put Ruin down.
Esmarey is strong because she has to be - she has been alone for quite a while but now is starting to realise that being loved and feeling part of something is a real possibility if she can only stay alive long enough to find out what her brother had discovered and get her life back.
So many twists and turns, plenty of heat and a couple of shockers make this book so good!

Speechless. No words. None. That is where this book has left me. The Royal Fae Academy has more secrets than students and my feline nature means that my curiosity is at a fever pitch, rather desperate to learn the truth behind all those secrets. Esmeray and her light fae are experiencing some serious growing pains with their developing relationship, and the stranger from the tunnel is only making matters worse. “Ruin” is the perfect title for this book, because that is what I am at the end of it: ruined. I NEED to know what comes next.

Hold on and enjoy the ride is what you do when you read this book. It grips you from the first page and doesnt let you up until the very end. The lines starts to blur about the differences between Light and Dark Fae in this book. Esmeray (FMC), Lucian, Bron and Dwade whilst investigating Rayne's death. Things start to escalate as they get closer to the truth and it puts their lives at risk. Help seems to come from an expected place. Book 2 certainly picked up the pace from the last book and my word it just keeps getting better. Im loving this series so much. Bring on book 3 because i cant wait to read it
