Rate this book
Sometimes it feels as if we are in a constant state of go. We are busy. And while some wear their busyness as a badge of honor, it often exacts a high price. Maintaining a balanced rhythm in life is more than filling a calendar with activities. Rhythm isn’t about doing more things; rhythm is about doing the right things. The principles and strategies outlined in this book can help restore balance to our lives. While this book doesn’t pretend to have all the answers, it may help you turn some dreams into realities. It’s time to get your life in rhythm.

I loved Rhythm. This is a book that came across my path at just the right time for me to receive it. In it, Wilson casts a wide net for what areas of our lives need improvement, and what methods we may go about to improve them. Some might see this as a con, but having read it in recent conjunction with books like 'Atomic Habits', a bigger picture forms for how we can experience meaningful change in our lives.

To that note, I will be picking up some of his reference material (looking at you, Jonathan Haidt) and would encourage anyone interested to do likewise.

My main and only criticism of Rhythm is that the targeted audience feels like it is primarily the stereotypical businessman: office, emails, slacks, paperwork, etc. Wilson mentions multiple times he is a family man but offers little advice to those who are attempting to find their own rhythm while drowning in the chaos of raising a family. Again, I understand his purpose here is breadth over depth, but I think there is an audience (and capability) to hear his thoughts on balancing family with getting things done.

As a wife and homemaker, the life stories and examples the author provided didn’t always seem relatable to me because there is much mention of meetings and other things that would apply more to the workforce. However, the concepts that the book presents can be applied to any lifestyle, and the book is presented in an easy to read, concise manner. I’ve found myself applying concepts learned in this book many times!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it came into my life at just the right time. As I balance working full time, being involved in ministry, and transitioning back to being a part time student, I couldn’t have asked for a better book to get me back on track. Take control of your time and create rhythm in your life!

Great book about establishing rhythm in your life as a leader. Wilson took several concepts from many other leadership books and combined them for an insightful interpretation of how he guides his life.

Incredible read! I read it quickly, in about 4 days, as research for teaching a session on time management. But there are multiple principles that I plan to apply in my own life. This book will definitely be one I return to in order to continue improving and fine-tuning my own Rhythm!
