Un bon premier tome, les élèves m’avait recommandé ce manga et j’ai bien aimé, j’ai trouvé l’histoire assez drôle j’ai notamment un attachement particulier pour le chat jaune qui m’a bien fait rire. Seul bémol pour moi le graphisme qui est bon sans être excellent après je pense que les dessins sont pour un public plus jeune .

Тааак, прочитав ще одну манґу. Отже, вітайте Сета, юного чарівника-початківця, безглузді вчинки якого та жага показати себе, постійно кидають його у центр усіх подій. Манґа «Радіант» Тоні Валенте — це перший том із онґоїнґу, який уже налічує 14-ть томів. Українською від видавництва NashaIdea уже вийшло три томи, тому виглядає, що я уже не встигаю читати цю серію 😅
Перша арка знайомий нас із вигаданим світом «Радіанта», де усі чарівники є «проклятими», а їхнім контролем займаються інквізитори. Сет — унікальний хлопець, він зумів вижити після контакту із Немезидами, які постійно невідомим чином з’являються з небес. Та ще й з загадкових причин він має невідомої природи імунітет до них, бо всі інші люди гинуть після контакту з ними.
Відверто, на початку історії мене постійно бісив головний герой, своєю поведінкою, тупими жартами й манерою розмовляти. Та й зрозуміти, що відбувається під час постійних загравань із долею, екшену й дивними вчинками героїв, досить важко. Але вже ближче до кінця, тупі жарти вже не здаються такими, а навіть смішними трішки, а світ навпаки хочеться дослідити, щоб дізнатися секрет Немезид та загадкового міста Радіант. Ми познайомилися із кількома героями, які виглядає будуть супроводжувати нас під час серії, та мають свої цікаві й загадкові сторони.
Не скажу, що після прочитання у мене якийсь «вав» ефект, але історія цікава й зі своїми інтригами, неординарними героями, таємницями та хорошим малюнком. Тому — це історія на яку варто звернути увагу та спробувати почитати. А я точно буду знайомитися із світом «Радіанта» надалі.

Не скажу, що після прочитання у мене якийсь «вав» ефект, але історія цікава й зі своїми інтригами, неординарними героями, таємницями та хорошим малюнком. Тому — це історія на яку варто звернути увагу та спробувати почитати. А я точно буду знайомитися із світом «Радіанта» надалі.

Good in theory but not put into practice well.
Radiant has some fascinating magic and lore and an interesting world behind it all that feels a bit like a combination Mashima (Fairy Tail) meets Kato (Blue Exorcist). The problem comes with the execution. There is a lot packed into this first volume with a lot of telling rather than showing. I felt my eyes glaze over a few times and I started skimming large portions of text because there were walls of word bubbles to explain a situation rather than just running with it and having us understand based on the scene. Yes, it's a big world with a weird magic system and some even weirder lore behind it. It doesn't mean we need ALL of that packed into one chapter.
The story itself moves at a decent pace though, and so the mass quantities of exposition for each event gets crammed into a few panels. Radiant also suffers from characters talking way too much about things that aren't really important. Sometimes it builds up to a joke (like the "beware the yellow cat" stuff), sometimes it's exposition being shouted to people who already would know this stuff, and sometimes it just... builds to nothing? Maybe it was supposed to be character building or something.
I know it sounds like I'm just complaining, but that's because if not for these big flaws, this would work great. Characters are interesting, the art is expressive, character designs are neat with a touch of weird that makes it fun, the backgrounds are detailed, particularly when they get to Artemis. I especially liked the chapter page in Artemis, where you saw the busy streets and the Chapter 4 header and title are cleverly incorporated into the art.
The story of a boy with weird powers, even in a world full of weird powers, might be a cliche formula, but it's become cliche because it works. In this case, Seth is a boy who can cast magic without the usual incantations or magic tools. He's powerful, but not too bright and prone to causing mass destruction. He has an "infection" (a side effect from touching a nemesis and not dying) in the form of the horns on his head (and possibly the fact he can use magic barehanded). He takes down his first nemesis and kicks the butts of a gang of "bad" wizards, earning him the love of the town he saved and the confidence to go track down the home of all the nemeses, the titular "Radiant." He'll probably go through a training arc of some sort in Artemis and have to dodge the inquisition (an institution that isn't really well explained despite the lengthy explanations of everything else).
I kind of want to continue this series, but on the other hand, the messy world building via extended info dumps is something that's normally a deal breaker for me in manga. It's both familiar and a little off beat and in theory something I would normally really like. I think I'll give the next volume a shot and see if things even out a bit more as it goes.

Premier tome en demi teinte pour moi.
Pour ce qui est du positif, j’ai adoré le style et les dessins, Tony Valente est extrêmement talentueux c’est clair. Il est français en plus ce qui ne change pas grand chose a notre affaire mais qui fait tout de même très plaisir^^
L’humour aussi a fonctionné sur moi (j’ai souvent gloussé au cours de ma lecture ce qui est très bon signe haha)
Après pour le “négatif” ayant déjà lu un paquet de shonen fantasy dans ma vie, c'était du vu et revu pour moi. Fairy Tale, One piece et j’en passe, on sent très fort les influences, ce qui ne posera pas de soucis pour les moins habitués je pense.
Malgré tout ce n’est que le tome 1, ca reste donc très introductif et j’ai espoir que ça se développe et me surprenne un peu plus au fur et mesure des tomes :)

Ein wunderbarer Start des französischen Mangas Radiant - der für mich alle klassischen Elementen eines Fantasy Shonen erfüllt.
In einer Welt voller Himmelsinseln regnen die Nemesis nieder auf die Inseln und verbreiten Zerstörung, Elend und Unheil. Einzig Hexerinnen und Hexer sind in der Lage diesen dämonenartigen Wesen Einhalt zu gebieten.
Durch die Berührung mit den Nemesis kommt es zu einer Infektion, die sich verschiedenst zeigen kann. Der Hauptcharakter Seth, ein junger Hexer, hat zum Beispiel Hörner.
Mit Seth hat der Manga einen starken Hauptcharakter, der aufgrund seiner Infektion ausgegrenzt wird und sich dennoch auf die Suche nach dem Ursprung der Nemesis machen will um die Welt zu retten.
Ich mag das Magiesystem sehr, ich liebe die unterschiedlichen Charaktere, finde den Manga sehr gut gezeichnet und feiere den Humor.
Wer Shonen mag, der kommt hier eindeutig auf seine Kosten.

Seth är trollkarlslärling hos häxan Alma. Hans största önskan är att slåss mot Nemesis, monstren som faller ned från himlen, men Alma tycker inte att han är redo. Seth är impulsiv, vilket inte alltid är en bra egenskap i strid. Han vill väl, men han måste lära sig att behärska sina väldiga krafter först.
Hittade den här vid mitt senaste biblioteksbesök och eftersom det är en av få manga vi har till försäljning på mitt jobb så ville jag läsa för att se hur den är. Tredje delen har precis släppts på svenska, men jag kommer nog inte att läsa vidare i serien. Jag upplevde Seth som ganska jobbig i sin envishet och missriktade välvilja; han verkar inte vara någon som lär av sina misstag, utan bara kör på som han alltid gjort. Jag förstår Almas frustration med honom. Jag gillar ändå premissen med att bara ett fåtal kan slåss mot Nemesis utan att bli dödade direkt och jag tror att "Radiant" absolut kan tilltala den yngre målgruppen.

Seth es un aspirante a mago que habita en la región de Pompo Hills junto a su poderosa maestra Alma. Como todo mago y persona con el don de la Fantasía, lucha contra los Némesis, unas criaturas caídas del cielo que destruyen la vida de todo lo que tocan, excepto la de los magos, los cuales son odiados por la gente en general y perseguidos por la Inquisición. Pero Seth no quiero solo terminar con los Némesis que aparezcan, quiere recorrer el mundo para encontrar el mitológico nido de los Némesis, Radiant, para destruirlos de una vez por todas.
Se trata de un gaijin editado originalmente en Francia bajo el sello Ankama bajo el guion y dibujo del originario de Touluse Tony Valente, que ha sido publicado en Japón a través de la editorial Asukashinsha en su colección Euromanga, avalado además por mangakas de renombre como Hiro Mashima o One. Nos llega a nuestro país de la mano de LetraBlanka, siendo un shōnen en todas sus características con una edición impecable por parte de la editorial, incluyendo algunos extras como páginas a color.
La historia bebe de los shōnen más conocidos como puede ser Dragon Ball o One Piece, pero alzándose con una formula refrescante que pretende y ya es un éxito en todos los mercados que se publica. Los personajes son muy carismáticos y te pegas a ellos desde un primer momento, el universo es muy rico y aún tiene muchas variables que presentar, la magia y su sistema me intriga bastante hasta el momento, y el humor hace que te desternilles cada pocas viñetas. Tengo ganas de que se publique pronto el siguiente volumen, de los quince que el autor tiene planeados, para continuar las desventuras del amigo Seth.
*Relectura*: Me he releído el tomo para continuar con la serie y me ha vuelto a encantar. Tiene un rollo macarra shonen y un mundo detrás que tiene muy buena pinta. No entiendo por que no seguí con el resto de la serie...

Za ovaj manga serijal zainteresovala me činjenica da nam stiže od francuskog autora.
Inspirisan delima raznih drugih strip umetnika, autor se odlučio da započne manga serijal u japanskom stilu.
Svet Radianta je vrlo maštovit, mada je primetno da je autor inspiraciju uzimao "sa svih strana". Od svega je uzeo dobre delove i objedinio ih u nešto svoje. Svet Radianta je mesto gde ljudi žive na ostrvcima, koja uz pomoć balona lebde u vazduhu. Upoznajemo Seta, mladog čarobnjaka. Set je još jedan u nizu iritantnih likova, nezrelih i nesvesnih štete koju nanose okolini. Kasnije primećujem promenu u njemu, ali je još uvek rano da mi time promeni mišljenje.
Nemezisi su čudovišta koja padaju sa neba, a od njihovog dodira ljudi umiru. Oni koji prežive, postanu čarobnjaci. Umesto da lovi čudovišta, Set se odlučuje da sa svojim prijateljima pronadje i uništi samo gnezdo Nemezisa - Radiant.
Na putu im nevolje stvaraju obični ljudi, zbog straha i mržnje prema čarobnjacima, kao i Nemezisi i Inkvizicija.
Svaki deo ostavlja cliffhanger na kraju, pa jedva čekate da uzmete sledeći u ruke. Poseduje i par interesantnih zapleta i obrta. Dopadaju mi se i kratki delovi izmedju svakog poglavlja. U njima možete saznati nešto više o celom Radiant univerzumu, jer kroz priču autor nema previše prostora za to. Takodje, svaki deo je za nijansu bolji od prethodnog. Verujem da će budući biti još bolji.
Radiant je po mom mišljenju manga namenjena mladjim čitaocima. Prepuno je izraza koje današnja deca i tinejdžeri koriste. Takodje, prepuno je humora, koji je i meni bio odličan. Ipak, to ne umanjuje utisak da je serijal zaista za mladje čitaoce. Ne možete očekivati nešto što će vas oboriti sa nogu. Svakako, serijal drži pažnju, tako da želim da pročitam i ostale delove, kada ih izdaju kod nas. Meni je razbio čitalačku blokadu, pa imajte i to u vidu ako vam se desi.

Ça faisait un petit moment que je n'avais pas lu de manga, c'est agréable de retrouver ce genre de lectures !
Je découvre seulement « Radiant » que je ne connaissais pas du tout auparavant.
Les graphismes sont franchement géniaux, le design des personnages est top ; ils sont tous très différents sans qu'on ait l'impression non plus qu'ils viennent de deux mangas différents !
L'univers est très sympa aussi, j'aime bien l'idée des Némésis, des infections des Sorciers qui choisissent d'utiliser le Fantasia, et j'ai bien sûr hâte d'en apprendre plus sur le Radiant que part rechercher Seth, notre héros.
Ce dernier est un personnage qui m'a bien plu, même si je l'ai aussi trouvé très similaire à d'autres héros de shonen. Les autres personnages sont aussi attachants, j'adore Alma (et le fait qu'elle ait un moignon m'a franchement plu, j'ai l'impression que c'est assez rare de trouver un personnage à qui il manque un membre), et je suis aussi déjà fan de Mélie !

L'humour de l'auteur apporte aussi une touche très unique à l'histoire et aux personnages !

Coge los elementos clásicos del shonen y lo hace un poco más europeo. Es una maravilla. No es que te vaya a cambiar la vida por su profundidad, pero es el tipo de historia que es y cumple muy bien. Además el dibujo es sublime.
Alma tiene pinta de ir a ser tan maravillosa que me muero un poquito de la felicidad.
Relectura post Heroes Con, donde pude comprar los cuatro primeros en español.

Début prometteur, world building intéressant et artwork juste magnifique. L'intrigue ne casse pas trois pattes à un canard, les personnages ne sont pas bien originaux (Seth est un peu un mix de tous les héros de shonens phares) mais ça promet. J'ai peur que ça suive une trame à la Fairy Tail et compagnie, mais en tout cas, je suis assez intéressée pour lire la suite.

More so 3.5 stars; It started out a bit slow for me but the set up for what to expect in the future, is pretty interesting. I’m not entirely sure if i’ll become more interested in it as more english volumes get produced. But, I’ll definitely keep an eye out and give this manga series a chance.

Un de mes mangas préférés !
L'univers de Radiant est un plaisir à découvrir au fil des tomes. On est plongé dans un monde où le fantasia (la magie) et les infectés (les humains qui peuvent l'utiliser) sont rejetés par le reste de la société.
Seth (le personnage principal) va se battre pour que les infectés comme lui ne soient plus vus comme des menaces.
J'ai directement accroché aux intrigues plus prenantes les unes que les autres, où l'auteur prend le temps d'aborder la discrimination des minorités et l'impact de l'humain sur l'environnement.
Les personnages sont vraiment intéressants à découvrir(Alma, Dragunov et Grimm en particulier).
J'ai hâte d'en savoir plus sur les origines de Seth et ses frères !
La romance naissante entre Ocoho et Seth c'est un petit bonbon 🍬

An fun enough start but it still feels very typical and familiar to anyone who might’ve read fantasy and shonen manga before. Drawing style was nice even if some of the fights were hard to follow. It also has me recalling Ranma 1/2, with it’s shockingly short senior characters...
Don’t think I’ll continue but I’m sure it must become more original and exciting the further you read.

Sin duda se siente la pesada influencia de dos autores: toriyama y mashima. La historia es entretenida y aunque el protagonista es torpe, no termina siendo molesto.

If other fantasy manga didn't already exist, this one might have felt fresh and new. The difficulty is that even the humor felt derivative of other manga stories. The characters are weird and different in some ways, but the main character is just the traditional "tough, spunky and a bit stupid" kid who is powerful but incompetent at the start.
On the other hand, the artwork was good for the style, and the action-adventure parts were fun to read, even if they felt like a lost volume of another series.
The main character is a young man who has, like other wizards, been infected by the monsters who are ravaging the world. Basically, anyone who survives being touched by one is infected, and comes away with some form of physical or mental mutation, but also the ability to manipulate magic. Sadly, the author didn't do arithmetic very well, or a LOT of people are stupid enough to get touched by one of these Nemeses, even though the natural reaction to them is to run far away.
In any case, for no good reason, there is an inquisition whose apparent job is to arrest the only people capable of fighting back against the monsters. Also, no one really knows the sources of the monsters, who apparently just fall out of the sky, at least sometimes in really big eggs.
Overall, the book is moderately enjoyable but forgettable. I read it when it first came out, several months ago, and then re-read it to see if my opinion had changed. It hadn't, but I couldn't remember most of what happened. For me, that is unusual, and suggests that I didn't really care what happened.
So, if you read Naruto or other manga for the crazy young hero, rather than for the overall story, then you might enjoy this one. He's good-hearted but deranged, and the story looks like it will lead somewhere interesting.

There are some interesting ideas in this, like the premises. Evil creatures fall from the sky called Nemeses and they spread a corruption. If you survive it, you have 'magical' abilities and are able to fight the monsters. However, the rest of the villagers will tend to think of you as a monster too so instead of seeing saviors they see people to mistrust.
Seth is a young wizard who's never actually seen a nemeses but is sure he's going to be great at fighting them in that overconfident screaming shonen manga boy-hero style. And there is my problem. This manga is well drawn but it's so overly familiar. Even with an interesting premise it seems so overly familiar and honestly I'm at my limit with screamy shonen boys. It's never been my favorite trope to start with.
Seth's so over enthusiastic he beats up a bunch of cows thinking they're nemeses, irritates a village, irritates his mentor, Alma (who I liked) but then a real nemeses shows up along with a weird quartet of so-called heroes. Unsurprisingly this leaves us with a few dozen pages of fight scenes where we learn Seth's super power and in the end he's sent off to Alma's teacher.
I got this from the library so I might see more that way but I can say I didn't like it quite enough to buy it. I didn't really like Seth because of the screaming silliness but he changed a bit by the end so maybe there's hope.

On sent bien les inspirations derrière ce titre, mais de façon légères et sympathiques.
Le héro semble être une sorte de chosen one, quelqu'un de spécial. Le petit cliché de la tête brûlée attachante qu'on ne peut pas détester!
J'aime la présence de sa mentor et j'espère qu'on la verra encore dans les prochains tomes. La phrase "On ne naît pas humain, on le devient" m'a un peu fait lever les sourcils...
Les thèmes de la série sont posés: un héro au grand coeur en quête d'aventure et voulant faire ses preuves, va être confronté au pire comme au meilleur de l'humanité.
La petite équipe semble se former dès ce t1, j'aime bien Mélie. Malgré la présence encore d'un perso principal féminin à l'imposante poitrine, elle n'est pas non plus trop sexualisé donc? Ça va?
Mais je ne sais pas trop quoi penser de son espèce d'extrême bipolarité magique... il faudra voir comment tout cela est traité par la suite.
En bref un bon petit manga fantasy qui me donne envie d'aller chercher la suite à la bibliothèque: donnez-moi des sorciers, de la magie et des créatures magiques mignonnes et/ou terrifiantes et je suis 👌📖👓
