For some investigations, you get nowhere relying on police.

When the supernatural rears its head in Miami, the sleuthing's usually up to me, Cisco Suarez, resident necromancer and all-around hard case. All I ask is to kick back in paradise once in a while, spend some quality time with my girl, and maybe even find that special moment to pop the question.

But life doesn't always play fair, and neither do monsters. Turns out, old grudges die hard. So come after me. Maybe I deserve it. But going after my family crosses the line.

It's time to stop playing the sitting duck. It's time to start a hunt of my own. Dressed to the nines and undercover at a silvan wedding, I'll delve into the literal underworld to make the monsters wish they'd never messed with Cisco Suarez.

And hey, if I'm really lucky, maybe she'll say yes.

This was the 7th instalment of the Black Magic Outlaw series and it was a good one! This is an action based UF that follows a lot of standard UF rules while still managing to feel quite unique mostly due to the distinctive voice of its lead character Cisco Suarez. Domino Finn always manages a nice blend of action, drama, and humour in the story and his writing style is fairly engaging.

The story was decent enough in this one. Cisco was trying to take things easy since he had struck a tentative alliance with the underworld boss who ruled the vampires. He was even pondering popping the question to his girlfriend, Milena, but things went awry for him when an enemy from the past made a reappearance. It meant a trip to a fay wedding in the Nether Realm was needed to sort things out!

This series is told in first person with Cisco as the only POV character. He is a unique voice and the driving force behind the success of this series. He has many flaws but is generally pretty entertaining and easy enough to root for so it is easy to get caught up in the craziness that is his life!

We got plenty of fun stuff happening in this one with old enemies cropping up from the past, a trip to the Nether Realm, and Cisco's developing relationship with Milena all proving to be fun story arcs.

This is not a series without flaws (It can be casually misogynistic at times) but none of the flaws are super serious and while I'm never going to rate this as a favourite series it has proven to be a fun read with good staying power as I'm enjoying this series as much now as I ever was. If anything the series might even be getting better as it goes!

Rating: 3.5 stars

Audio Note: Neil Hellegers does a great job with the audio for this series.

Cisco Suarez is a necromancer and they call him Shadowman. Cisco has a girlfriend Milena whom he loves very much and he realizes that she is the most important person to him other than his daughter. While he has been making enemies over the years and he has to be careful there are very few he trusts. He meets a guy in his coffee shop and he makes him a coffee the man is very impressed but then gives Cisco an envelope that he opens and makes a decision and then things start to happen he goes off looking for someone he should have just left alone and gets caught up in a situation that requires help from an outside source as well as him trying to outrun a chopper trying to get back to the airport but unfortunately doesn't work for him and he needs assistance. He gets help from another unexpected source and then he goes down a rabbit hole. Cisco finds his way back home and then when he and Milena are together she is grabbed and assaulted by a mermaid assassin. They go through an action-packed adventure and a wedding. Series. Book 1. I was given a copy as a gift from Bookfunnel without obligations. I am providing an honest review.

I've been waiting a long time for this, and I'm not disappointed in any way. Cisco Suarez still kicks arse! Every piece of work that Domino Finn releases gets better and better.

Cisco gets invited to a silvan wedding. Now we know that 'the course of true love never did run smooth' because Shakespeare told us, so you just know that everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) is going to hit the fan. Cisco wants to set down roots with the beautiful sexy Milena, and he's finally decided to pop the question. My heart was going like the clappers, thinking this was going to be the best proposal in history! Was it? You'll just have to find out for yourself.

A heady mix of fabulous reading, a cracking action-packed and twisty turny storyline, and great silvan and human characters will have you transfixed to the pages, and turning them at a rate of zoooooom. If you haven't started Cisco's adventures yet, there's no logical excuse why you shouldn't, but not here. Start at the very beginning, as it's a very good place to start...apparently.

I chose an early copy which I then voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. All opinions are my own.

In Blood Craft, the seventh book in the Black Magic Outlaw series, we find Cisco Suarez dealing with
a wide-range of problems: an invitation to a Silvan wedding in the Nether, fallout from the death of serial killer Manifesto, his unexpected live performance on the local news, the FBI's extensive search for the Shadow Man, vampires of the Obsidian March looking for payback, taking the next step in his relationship with Milena, keeping his family and friends safe, all while a new evil slithers into Miami.

Swiftly paced, with well-written characters and clever plot twists, author Domino Finn takes us on another exciting, look into the world of necromancer Cisco Suarez.

Highly recommended!

Cisco Suarez is a necromancer, but he refers to himself as an animist. Miami is being plagued by a darkness. Whoever's behind it is represented by black owls with acid for blood.
Cisco and Milena are in a good place until she gets poisoned by a mermaid assassin who hates Cisco for killing her sister. Plus the FBI are after him for some reason.
Seems like an opportune time to jaunt off to the land of the Sylvans for a wedding. See a pair of his friends get married and while he's there get Milena cured.
Domino Finn has spun another great yarn with friends, enemies, monsters and betrayal

Yep, Cisco is back, with bigger problems than before. Invited to a Silvan
(translate rather far into the Nether) wedding, and having other business to deal with there, he takes Milena and Kasper with him. Once they arrive in the Nether, all hell breaks loose. WIth a stige witch, a gorgon, a maniacal murdering mermaid, gnolls and assorted fauns and minotaurs, it's hard to tell friend from foe. Will they all make it back to the Earthly Steppes? I received a complimentary copy and freely provide my true opinion.

Amazing read

Since I've started reading this series Mr. Finn has not disappointed with his story it has been a non stop whirl of action violence and humor and he wraps it up with the supernatural to create a world that makes me believe there is truly a veil between us and the next and that those creatures are among us and I thank him for that this series has allowed me to step into somewhere outside of myself and enjoy the adventure can't wait for the next installment again thanx for the ride Mr.Finn

Outstanding...

The long awaited story of a new life for Cisco and Milena was well worth waiting for. Too bad it came with unexpected twists and bargains. Enter the Nether, and expect problems and danger at every twist an turn. Just another day in the life of a Black Magic Outlaw. I loved every minute of it. If you aren't familiar with Cisco, I suggest you get familiar. Ready for the next book!

Twists and turns

Without giving any spoilers - the book is well thought out and organized. The plot moves forwarded throughout the hook - even if it doesn't seem like it. I am not sure what went on during the ending of the book. I'm hoping the next one shed some light on it.

Cisco Suarez is like John Wick of the supernatural world. A brilliant next instalment. He is maybe getting a bit too cocky but still love him to bits. Thank you Domino Finn. Look forward to the next book.

Still going strong

I love the return of old characters, the story is still good I can't wait to see what happens next. Solid rules of magic continue. I like that Cisco has gotten more power without gaining more powers.
