On a trip to the beach, Matora is taken out by a shady character, and things only get worse for our heroes from there. Kogarashi investigates the commotion only to discover his former master, Ouga Makyouin! She's arrived at Yuragi-sou to exorcise its resident ghost, and worse, she claims that Yuuna is actually an evil spirit hell-bent on destroying the planet! Kogarashi has to think fast to prevent Yuuna from being exorcised forever-that is, if he still trusts her.
The eastern and western factions are each dominated by a clan, and along with a third one, is locked in a three-way deadlock. The presence of the Yatahagane ensures the three groups are in a stalemate. The character on the cover of this volume is Makyouin Oga the sixth Yatahagane and she is Kogarashi’s master. She’s a ghost, though dead she trained Kogarashi to inherit her abilities and the successor to the Yatahagane. This ensures that at least the fragile peace, and the three-way deadlock continues, albeit more tenuously.
OMG it's on like Donkey Kong! Kogarashi's master comes back, and she intends to take Yuuna out. The fight scenes are crazy and to see all the girls working in unison and doing different things was so cool! Now comes the kicker, Yuuna is forced to find out who she is and then cliffhanger. I have nothing but praise for this series and this volume takes it to another level.
