S. E. Green is the award-winning and best-selling author of young adult and adult books. She grew up in Tennessee where she dreaded all things reading and writing. "I've always wanted to be a vet because animals, well, they're just awesome. It's the people in the world that tend to suck."

Ooh this one was such a great book. It was so great seeing Lane growing into herself as a person, and I've been looking forward to reading more about her little sister. I really hope the author writes more in this series because I really look forward ro seeing how this story develops.

I received a copy of The Suicide Killer from Hidden Gem Books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are, of course, my own.

**4.5 stars**

Lane Cameron is in college but still regularly goes home to see her sister Daisy, brother Justin, and stepdad Vince. She suspects a new serial killer in town as a string of suicides keep popping up that have too many similarities. Through research, she learns this serial killer is connected to one her mother was tracking as well. Can Lane find the killer and stop him while keeping her secrets from her family still?

Not a thousand percent sure what this says about me, but I love serial killer stories. This is my first book by Green (so, yes you could read this series out of order, but I'll definitely be going back and reading the other books) and I actually had never heard of the book or author and I am pleasantly surprised.

This reminded me of a teenage Dexter but with more emotions and Dan Well's John Cleaver series ("I Am Not a Serial Killer"). I really enjoyed Green's writing style - it was engaging, captivating, and easy to read. If it hadn't been for being exhausted, I would have easily read this in one sitting and can't wait to see what Lane Cameron (and her family) gets up to next.

Green does it again, and does it WELL, in the fourth book in the Killer series featuring darkly-disturbed, teenage vigilante serial killer, Lane. Just when you think that there can't possibly be more secrets to uncover, this novel will leave your jaw hanging! Lane is a really very interesting character, written with such exceptional depth and emotion, that you can't help but feel for her and, sometimes, even cheer her on.

This series will easily delight and completely captivate adult and YA readers, alike. And, I SO hope that Greene will continue the series for a few more books. I'll be heartbroken, if she doesn't.

Lane Cameron swore she’d never be like her late mother, but ends up a serial killer anyway. She, at least, brings justice to those who fall through the justice system’s cracks—so, better than her mother, she thinks.

Then single mothers begin dying, committing apparent suicide and being found by their children. Lane investigates and finds herself in a web of tales her mother once tried to unentangle.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I haven’t read the first and while it isn’t completely necessary to read the first book to understand this one, this book doesn’t do super well as a stand-alone. There were several points where the characters sort of blended together and the dialogue was indistinct enough to make me lose interest, but the pacing of the plot kept that from being too much of a roadblock to finishing the book. The book ends with a not-super-surprising cliffhanger, but it’s interesting enough that I would consider reading the next book.

I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you like dark suspense and a roller coaster ride of emotions you will love this second book in the Killers Among Series by S.E. Green about a vigilante serial killer stalking another serial killer. The suspense is built up slowly and ever more pressing as Lane seeks life altering information about her past as well as the identity of the current serial killer she is stalking. You see, she only kills those she feels are not innocent and definitely deserve to be stopped. Emotionally, she goes from a zero emotion feeling killer to feeling like a person who belongs to be in the human race with everyone else, and cares about her family. And oh my be prepared for a heck of a twist at the end of the book. It is delicious in its deviousness the author hid from the reader. I am looking forward to adding further books in this series to my TBR file. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Hidden Gems Books.

Lane, the teen Dexter - book 4

Lane Cameron (finally in book FOUR her name can be confirmed) is in college now, is still wrestling with her demons and is also worried about the changes she sees in sister Daisy and brother Justin. She also suspects there’s a new serial killer out there who is going unnoticed because his killings are made to look like suicides and she suspects her mother was tracking this individual too. Can Lane find the killer and stop him? Is anyone going to wonder why NOVA is so chock full of serial killers? Seriously....I would consider moving to the Maryland side, y’all!

Another fun entry in this series. I hope there are more Lane Cameron books on the horizon because there’s a real character arc going on with several of them he Cameron’s. Currently available on Kindle Unlimited.

Angel of Vengence

Lane Cameron is a College student and serial killer. Lane is an emotionless, empty machine when she kills like her mother. However, she only kills the guilty. The sexual predators, killers, sexual abusers, etc. She is currently after The Suicide Killer. A serial killer who convinces his victim to commit suicide. Lane is also is in the middle of some family drama where she discovers a family secret about her sister Daisy. Her little brother is acting up, falling in with a bad crowd. Also, her boyfriend Tom, wants her to be more emotionally open. But first, Lane has to find who the Suicide killer is before he strikes again. I loved this book. I found out this is the second book. I will definitely read the first. I am so glad I found this author. I'm received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to say that I enjoy this series so much! Lane is a daughter, sister, girlfriend, college student, friend and . . . . . serial killer hunter. Her family baggage is enough to make anyone want to drink! Trying to keep secrets from her family in order to keep this safe is taking a toll on those relationships. Daisy's revelation about their mom was mind blowing! There's a new serial killer in town . . . maybe. I'm struggling to write this review because I don't want to give anything away, so you'll just have to trust me that this story is worth your time! I hope there is a book 3.

Wow. S.E. Green Is My New Favorite Author

I can't seem to put her books down. Looks like I'll be in a state of literary withdrawal once I've devoured them all. This talented writer weaves a spell with their lovable, complex characters. Lane Cameron is the hero we never knew we needed, but are grateful to have.

I feel as is this book didn’t hold a lot of suspense. Things were given to you right away. I only kept reading because I wanted to find out when she finally would kill Bart. It just wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be.

Not the usual "who done it." S.E. Green knows how to tell a story. I love how her characters come to life.

Amazing

This is a fantastic story. I just can't say too much because I don't want to give you even one spoiler. I can say this. This story will make you think. I sure did. And I will continue to think about this one for a good long time. Question for a higher power, how many people have a deeply rooted darkness deep inside, not even of our own making, and, how far will we go. Can we ever let the light shine in and burn away the dark?

I should probably admit that I didn't realise this was a sequel and hadn't read the first book. Oops. That probably put me at a disadvantage, so please bear that in mind when reading my review!
This is kind of a thriller, kind of a detective/crime novel. It's got action, family drama and relationship issues. And death. Plenty of that.
I don't want to describe the plot too much in case anyone wants to read it. But here's the general gist of it:
Lane, 18 years old, is the daughter of a (now deceased) serial killer. I got the impression that there was a lot on that in the previous book which I therefore missed. When Lane hears of strange deaths in the area, mirroring some from decades ago, she uses her mother's investigative notes to try and piece together what's going on. Because that's what Lane does in her spare time - she hunts down criminals and deals out justice. She's kind of a vigilante type, I guess, but with a hint of her mother's darkness.
Lane also discovers some history between the so-called Suicide Killer and her own mother, which makes her even more determined to solve the case and discover the truth.
The plot itself is really interesting, I will openly admit that. But there was something about the narrative voice of Lane's that I just couldn't quite seem to get on with. Something to do with her lack of emotion - which I get, as she's possibly somewhat sociopathic or at least disturbed in some way - which seems to alternate with kind of out-of-character shows of emotion? It might just be me, but it just felt a little inconsistent.
Overall, I did like it. I think I would have benefitted from reading the first book first, and maybe one day I'll get round to it. 3.5 stars.
A huge thanks to Hidden Gems for providing me with a free review copy!

5/5 - I LOVED THIS SERIES! Could not put it down…and I’m really sad there aren’t any more books (yet…?) This series is just twisted enough to keep readers wanting more, without being overly gruesome. Really hoping S. E. Green releases another book soon!
