I ran under the cover of darkness with only a duffel bag to my name.

This feel good, sweet and sexy read by J. Marie had me swooning. I love how opposite Brooks and Mia are but how perfect they fit together. His character was so determined and as sheltered as he was he still had the alpha-ness in him. It was sexy af. Mia was so jaded and hurt by her past. She was easily loveable and I’m glad Brooks was able to break down her walls. The author slayed this epic book!

I LOVED Mia and Brooks! This book was unlike any other book I’ve ever read and had me wanting more the entire time. Mia is a bad ass who hides her past hurt under her rainbow colored hair and black clothes. Brooks has his own ghosts but is the EXACT opposite of Mia. J. Marie kept surprising me at every turn and I couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait to see what this amazing author has for us next!

Topsy Turvy Kinda Love by J. Marie was everything I hoped it would be with a sweet as sugar romance and a swoon-worthy MMC. 🤘
Let me start off by voicing my ONE complaint...Mia's view on love. I get she was hurt, scorned, and grew up with a crappy take on it thanks to her parents, but she was gifted a man like Brooks and I wanted to strangle her through 70% of the book.
Bad, Mia!
Other than that, this book was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. Brooks was such a unique, naive, adorably alpha MMC. He is seriously in my Top 10 favorite book boyfriends of all time. From the moment he saw Mia he knew she was the one. His history didn't hold him back, but instead fueled his desire to fight for what he wanted. His inexperience was such a nice turn of events in most romances so I appreciated that part.
Mia had a darkend soul and fought her feelings for Brooks for a long, looooong time. But I loved her quirkiness and the fact that she was 100% honest. I was so proud when she faced her fears and gave Brooks a real chance. It was well deserved for both of them. And their chemistry? AMAZING, y'all. 🤤
And the little (BIG) twist? I adored it. Usually I'm not a huge fan of THAT trope, but it worked beautifully in this story. J. Marie made me see colors. Carefully woven into this romance, the use of colors and their descriptions added a layer of depth that was so refreshing and engaging. Overall, I adored Mia and Brooks SO much.

This book is a really sweet romance read and it was a real great romance read. Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down and the twists that this author put in were awesome and ones that you wont see coming.
Mia is a beautiful woman with gorgeous multi colored hair that has had things pretty tough and likes to hide everything that has happened in her past. She is brave, beautiful, sassy and strong deep inside and when she meets Brooks everything changes. She tried to deny her feelings and not give in but when fate steps in what is meant to be is meant to be.
Brooks knew exactly what he wanted and what that was is her. He is a guy that also has his own past and now all he wants is to see Mia on his arm. He wants to start living a better life and she is what he sees in it.
I love the way that this author writes her characters and I really liked these two and the banter between them both was great. They have amazing chemistry and I was really rooting for them both to let the love in, but it does throw alot of curve balls that the reader will not see coming. This story line flows beautifully and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen. This book really does have it all, the angst, the sizzling steam, the romance and funny moments and I cant wait to read more form this author in the future and I highly recommend this book as its a real must read for everyone.

I have have been waiting ever so patiently *bats eyelashes* for Mia and Brooks. This book is everything I wanted and MORE!! Filled with hilarious, witty banter Topsy Turvy will take you on a extreme emotional trip. I did not expect a couple of the curveballs J Marie through in and I loved every second of it. Five stars for this angsty romantic comedy!!! Loved and highly recommend!

I absolutely loved Topsy Turvy Kinda Love! Loved Mia and Brooks so much! Mia was badass with sass and humour and some heartache from her pass! Brooks was nerdy and awkward then he was alpha and swoon worthy! Loved the banta the chemistry was sexy hot! The story line was fantastic! Amazing characters! Their love was a topsy turvy kinda journey! Can't wait to read more by J!

Brooks and Mia are the complete opposites of each other but yet they are perfect for each other. Mia has her guard up and doesn't let people in that easily. Brooks is also dealing with his own demons and needs to get past them. The relationship that Mia and Brooks have is hot, intense, and downright steamy. I loved this book and can't wait to see what she writes next.

This was a great story! I truly love Mia and all of her sassy ways. The chemistry between Mia and Brooks was seriously intense, at times down right sexy as hell! But the plot twists, just when you think you know J changes it up!!

I devoured this sweet story. Do you believe in love at first sight? It may not have happened for Mia, but Brooks definitely had the air knocked out of him. The beauty with the multi-colored hair was it for him! Convincing her was a different story.

ENDEARING, EMOTIONAL, CYNICAL YET HOT AND STEAMY ROMANCE!!
WOWZA, J. Marie has written an absolutely fantastic story that I finished in one sitting because I HAD to know what was going to happen next!
The characters Brooks and Mia are so far from opposites in the way they feel about love it was surprising they meshed so well together at the beginning.
Mia is a rainbow colored hair, independent, self-assured yet cynical woman who believes that love doesn't exist and it's is just a myth people feed themselves. She is a heartfelt and genuine character, flaws and all.
Brooks has been raised and sheltered in a Southern religious "compound" so he is very naive but it doesn't deter from his tall, built and sexy AF self! Actually while reading, it was like watching a flower bloom with the way he gained more confidence in himself.
These two work at a local bar together and Brooks has had a huge crush on Mia for over a year. A slight problem occurs for Brooks, which ends up with Mia offering her spare bedroom to him as roommates. I laughed a lot at the way Brooks didn't understand back-handed comments or innuendos because it was so endearing yet funny.
The two get along extremely well with each other and it starts getting a whole lotta steamy and sexy!!
This was one of the best romantic and sweet books I've read this year. I suggest anyone looking for a fantastic book to read this weekend to grab this book! Your heart will fall in love with Brooks and Mia just like mine did!

Topsy Turvy Kinda Love had all the feels. Brooks and Mia are everything! They are the ultimate opposites attract kind of couple. I liked that Brooks was a little naive about life due to his upbringing and that Mia was the one to educate him. Usually it is the reverse in books, so to see such a strong FMC take the lead was a very refreshing change. This was a really enjoyable read and I definitely recommend it!

J Marie brought together two beautifully broken characters and made them deliciously breathtaking. With each page turn, you’re enveloped in their story and wanting more. This is the kind of book that makes you feel good, no matter what.
From the first page to the very last, you are brought into a world that you don’t want to leave. You fall in love with Brooks with each and every interaction. He is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend and I’m utterly obsessed with him. Then you have Mia, who is beautifully captivating in her own way. She has a past, but with Brooks right beside her, there is no way for her to fail.
J Marie is a master of words and delivered a sweet love story that keeps you turning the page with each and every twist she throws at you.

This is absolutely my favorite read from this author, it was everything! And I mean EVERYTHING, I laughed, I got mad, I cried, I was elated with happiness! It was sizzling hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥the chemistry between Brooks and Mia is OFF THE CHARTS FREAKING JUST DELICIOUS!!!! Like woahhh! 😍

Warning: do not read this book at night when your significant other or spouse is asleep next to you. You may wake them up with your laughter at the straight up awareness at the beginning. Also with lines like “My hot pocket definitely wants to play with his crotch rocket,” it’s hard to not crack up.
I seriously love Mia. I wanna be friends with her for sure.
I wish I could be sitting at the bar watching these two interact. They are exactly what each other needed in life.

Holy cow...this book is fantastic! It is loaded with swoon, angst, heat, learning to trust, acceptance and friendship. Brooks is looking to built a new life for himself as he left a very controlling and sheltered one behind. Mia puts on a front that she rough and tough but she just wants to be loved and seen. She thinks she content with her life but then in walks Brooks. Brooks has been sheltered his whole life but Mia is determined to teach him a few things...but little does she know he teaches her too! Love love love this book!!

I wanted to love this book so bad! I loved the blurb and the whole idea, but it just didn't click with me. I had a hard time clicking with Mia & Brooks. I'm so disappointed (in myself) because there was nothing wrong with the writing or plot...I just couldn't get into it.
Although I couldn't click with the characters the story was solid and it flowed well. I'll definitely be reading more of J. Marie's books in the future.

I have to check myself to make sure the drool isn’t falling out of my mouth because hot tamales, that is a dick print if I’ve ever seen one. I just can’t look away, and I know I should.
“Damn, son… you packing some serious heat down there. Didn’t your momma ever tell you not to go out in public looking like a slut?” I blurt out, the filter between my mouth and brain clearly turned off.
A blush covers his cheeks. “Um… what?” he says, looking down at his outfit. I continue my ogling, eyes roaming over wide built shoulders and down bulging biceps that I swear are getting bigger as I stare. The white cotton tee obviously can’t shield my eyes from the washboard abs and chiseled pecs he’s packing. Bro works out, for reals. Now, if only I had some water for a wet tee shirt contest.

This book is full of lusty lusty before the lovey lovey and dang..... Fan yourself.

This book was such a delight to read!! Mia is a spirited independent free thinker who doesn't believe in love or fairy tales.
Brooks is the swooniest book boyfriend I have ever met! I loved Beau from WITS, but I might love Brooks better!💜 But shhh don't tell Beau😉

Oh how I loved Brooks and Mia and all of their awkward amazingness! Mia with her rainbow colored hair and bad girl vibes and Brooks with his straight laced naivety was opposites attract perfection. I loved reading as they navigated new experiences and feelings while overcoming their painful pasts together. J Marie was able to blend steamy, sexiness with sweet innocence so seamlessly. I laughed, I swooned...I even teared up a time or two. Sigh, Brooks and Mia are my new favorite couple.

I struggled a little with the beginning of this story, but fell in love with Brooks & Mia and their journey. I love the way his love for her is unwavering. They have an arrangement where she's teaching him about sex, but the things he teaches her are even more valuable. As they fall in love, and have to deal with some surprises along the way, their story becomes sweeter. There's also a lot of steam!
I loved the ending / epilogues!! Beautifully written & wonderfully told.

I am always at a loss for words when I write a review and this time is no different. I will say, Brooks and Mia stole my heart! I laughed out loud and thoroughly enjoyed this read. Brooks is like no other character I have read before and that makes him super special to me! MUST-READ!

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. Topsy Turvy Kinda Love had all the feels. chemistry between Brooks and Mia is off the charts. Can’t wait to see what this author writes next.
