You may think your mother-in-law is a witch, but RV’s really was.
And now there’s a very real chance she’ll be haunted by Mildred Bloodworth for eternity.
The only way to free herself from the curse that binds them, is for RV to make amends for Millie’s misdeeds.
Accompanied by a possessed Siamese cat, RV embarks, in her mother-in-law’s pink camper van, on a journey to right wrongs. But plans, like spells, can backfire.
RV drives right into a crime scene and quickly becomes the chief suspect in a mysterious murder.
Determined to prove her innocence, RV investigates with the help of a lucky penny, a wise owl, a reclusive turtle, and a magician whose agenda is unknown.
JB Lynn has created another must read series. Fun, quirky characters that kept me turning the pages. I’ll follow RV, Conroy, Link, and Mildred wherever their travels take them!
I have read every book written by JB Lynn. This is a new series and it is just as much fun as her Hit Woman series and her Psychic Consignment series. Her characters are hilarious yet have hearts. Can you imagine driving a pink RV with a talking cat in the right seat? And, not only does the cat talk but she is the driver’s mother-in-law. This is just such a fun read I can’t say enough about it. Her Hitwoman series is my favorite and it is going strong. Book 25 will be out next but you really must start with Book 1 to understand Maggie and a little bit of how JB’s brain thinks. Read her blog and get a little understanding of just how she thinks. These are all feel good books. So glad I discovered her. Thanks JB.
I've loved all the books I've read by JB Lynn. So I'm struggling with the fact that I struggled with this book. I had a hard time getting into the story. I think it is partly because RV is a character that I'm ambivalent about from the Neurotic Hitwoman series. I didn't care much for the first half of the book, but I did enjoy the second half. It just took a while to connect with the characters and there was a lot of stuff happening in the beginning without a lot of explanation which became clearer in the second half of the book. RV is growing on me and I really liked the other characters so I'm willing to give the series a chance. Full review soon.
Enjoyable new series from one of my favorite writers!
I liked almost everything about this new series. The pacing is great, the characters are vibrant, the story is interesting. I just kept getting confused with all the made up witchcraft terms. There is a glossary in the beginning, but that didn't help while reading on kindle. I eventually just ignored the ones I couldn't figure out since they didn't really effect the story that much. I can't wait to see what happens next in this exciting series.
RV was such an enigma when I read Lynn’s other series (The Hitwoman series) and RV was a character in one of those books. This book was no different and I was captivated from the beginning to the very end.
There was a happy ending here, yet it was open enough to make me completely ready to hit the next book (2 Spells Too Many, Book 2) to follow along with RV’s next adventure. I hope Sol and Ravena’s romantic relationship grows strong in the next few books.
JB Lynn, I love your books. They are funny and engaging. My one critique is your overuse of the word opined. Please stop!
RV has her own story. If you have not read Maggie Lee’s story, go now. The “Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hit-woman” is thoroughly entertaining. You can make a drinking game of how many times JB Lynn uses the word opined in that series. RV is righting the wrongs of a maddener who also happens to be her dead mother-in-law haunting her in the for of a cat.
I really liked this story because it had a little bit of everything! Good writing except near the end a bit when things get a bit confusing… I like that the author doesn’t give everything up in the the first book. More on the horizon to discover and all that..
1 Flew Over the Raven's Nest was an entertaining read, despite my dislike for the title of the series (Cursed Chicks Club). There were magical elements here that I have not seen in other fantasy novels and I found the story line to be original and creative. I will continue on to book #2, 2 Spells Too Many.
This is fun and funny, as we join RV on her travels to find a tailless squirrel with a talking cat as her co-pilot in her pink camper.... It was great to learn more about the mysterious RV and fans of the author's Hitwoman series will want to read this one.
Great new series with fun laugh out loud humour. Having read the Maggies series, this is a perfect new series to see RV develop as a character and learn more about her past.
This book is like someone saying the “Who’s on first” skit while listening to baby shark on repeat and having a bad case of poison ivy AT THE SAME TIME! It’s… Just. That. Annoying! DNF at 65% and I should get a medal and a refund for getting that far.
The story unfolds with such skill that one can hardly describe just how skilled the author is. Every book I read by J.B. Lynn takes me on a magical adventure.
I loved reading about RV adventures. Every since her debut in Maggie's world I have wanted to know more about her. I was not disappointed and am looking forward to book 2. :-)
