After escaping the town of Ida, Korden Bright and his new companions--jinko addict Meech Holcomb; expectant parents Rand and Lillam; snake oil salesman Tarmon Doaks; rogue Filament slave Zeega; and, of course, telepathic artificial intelligence S.T.O.N.E.--flee into the harsh wilderness of the Valley of Bones. Their goal: find the origin point for the Prophet’s broadcasts and convince him to aid in Korden’s quest.

Behind them rides the villainous Heater Kay, host to a dangerous imagination-devouring entity named Loathe, and a growing army of Incarnates intent on slaughtering them all.

Korden’s small band of mistrusting strangers will have to find common ground as they forge through the deadly Valley. On the other side, the Prophet waits, but nothing is quite what it seems in this world...

About the author

Russell C. Connor has been writing horror since the age of five, and is the author of two short story collections, four eNovellas, and ten novels. His books have won two Independent Publisher Awards and a Readers’ Favorite Award. He has been a member of the DFW Writers’ Workshop since 2006, and served as president for two years. He lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his rabid dogs, demented film collection, mistress of the dark, and demonspawn daughter.

His next novel, Predator, will be available in the fall of 2018.

Another riveting installment in this series (see my review of On the Shores of Tay-ho). I'm just glad I already have Book Four in hand given the cliffhanger ending of this one...

Great characters and storyline make this dystopian thriller a novel to keep you up until the last page is read! I highly recommend it and the series of which this is book 3. I’m definitely looking forward to reading book 4!

If only I could read faster

This last installment of the dark filament was amazing,I enjoyed every single page. The last chapter in the book had me frustrated cause I couldn't read faster to get to see what was happening in the and I'm onto the next book.
