Getting Right With God
For centuries, numerous people have asked “How do you get right and stay right with ‘god’?” Since a person’s god is whatever they value (love) the most, possible gods are limitless. When asked from the Judeo-Christian perspective, the question is narrowed but the answers are extremely diverse. Due to many identified factors, the author believes incorrect answers have been too frequently offered, starting soon after the death of Jesus and continuing to this day. Due to God’s nature and ours, the author bases his answer exclusively on appropriate (God-like) love as described and practiced by Jesus. The ancient Hebrews recognized the original answer and Jesus repeated it when he insisted we love God above all else and then love our neighbor as our self. Paul got it all wrong. Jesus did not fill the empty spaces in Paul’s Judaism. Believe Jesus and act like it.

A comprehensive look at the concept of divine love, the definition of God and gods and an informative take on the thoughts of Christianity lie within the pages of Getting Right With God by Joseph Way. Broken into three parts Way takes on us on an introspective and academic journey into the discovery of what makes God’s love the way it is, how it impacts our lives, and what the potentially true answers are to defining love for God and God’s love for us. With respect, ethical arguments and intellectual comments, Way shares with us his perspective on how he would define and maintain his connection with God.
Broken into three parts, we are careful exposed to Way’s perspectives on this delicate topic: Gods and God, Jesus and Followers of Jesus each come with their own subchapters and Way explains his stance on each one from his perspective as a chaplain and his experience in that role. He addresses problematic views in Christianity and potentially difficult beliefs in a respectful way that is not often found. This topic is not an easy one to discuss. The question of faith is extremely personal, and many people have their own beliefs and thought patterns that are built on what they have been exposed to, how they interact with their faith and how those around them interact with faith. There are expectations and beliefs that don’t necessarily translate from one individual to another. Way respects that and carefully calls out the differences between literal interpretation and its opposition.

Way wrote an informative and educative book that will help you change your ways and improve your relationship with God. You feel connected to the almighty more as a reader through Joseph C. Way's words. Getting Right with God is an excellent book because of two significant features the arrangement of the book and the diction used by the author. On the arrangement, the reader easily follows the text, as Joseph C. Way divided his book into three main parts. Part 1 discusses Gods and 'God'; the book's second part is about Jesus, while part three focuses on Jesus' followers.
