Well written, thoughtful and accessible book. Most books in this genre are dry and too simplistic. The author writes in a clear and concise style that makes it engaging and easy to understand without losing the complexity or getting bored. Finally, a workbook written by an expert skilled in writing, understanding mindfulness and depression recovery.
Take your time with this one. I bought the book in January and finished in April. I did a little bit every day and even skipped days when it felt like too much. It really help me think about negative thought patterns and how they can prevent me from getting out of a depression rut. There are many practical exercises and approachable advice. 100% would recommend
While this book doesn’t present any new information, it does make mindfulness and meditation a little more accessible to those who do suffer from depression. I believe the exercises will be useful for me in the future.
Thank you to Callisto Publisher’s Club and Rockridge Press for providing a copy of this book for me to read and review.
Decent strategies, I highlighted and book marked a few to return to.
I have worked with mindfulness previously so half of these weren't new to me, but I still appreciated the stories and tie ins to depression. I tended to use them for anxiety, but as this book suggests, they can be modified or intentionally used for depression as well.
