Only 86 pages. I’m in an advanced nursing program where there is a lot of research. If this is you get this!! You don’t read this it’s a guide!! It’s very handy for writing and researching papers in the medical field!!!

Good reference. This is a very basic introduction to reading research. It includes how to approach reading research and how to determine the strength of a study or article. There are also some great worksheets at the end for people who are new to research.

As a nursing faculty teaching research to undergraduate and graduate nursing students, I use this as a main textbook. Highly readable and very comprehensive for its manageable length of 50 pages of text. Has lists and links of other resources, as well as worksheets for critiquing single studies or systematic reviews and applying them to practice. Includes a concise discussion of barriers to practice with strategies for overcoming them. Pulled out "tips" and "alerts" are on target. Boxes highlight key content areas. Written by two Canadian expert nurse faculty and reviewed by many more.

I tell my students not to sell this one. Keep it for future clinical practice!

As the title indicates, I believe it could be useful to other "health professionals."
