Noah Wilder has always been the town’s playboy. Wild at heart, commitment was never in his vocabulary, but the nightmares that torment him are forcing him to reconsider.
Free spirited and adventurous, Jade Alyson never saw herself moving to a small town or settling down, until she met Noah. But when his former fling shows up, claiming to be pregnant with his child, Jade’s trust issues bubble to the surface. In spite of how much she loves Noah, her instinct is to bolt.
Now Noah’s struggling to soothe Jade’s fear without shirking his responsibilities as a father-to-be. As Jade’s anxieties mount, so do her suspicions about this mysterious woman’s motives, which are rapidly shifting from obsessive to downright creepy. When Jade disappears, Noah must get to the truth before his worst nightmares become real.

Samantha Baca continues to wow me with her writing and her creativity.
Noah and Jade's chemistry is ON FIRE! I like that the story is fast paced without leaving out details. It keeps you intrigued and dying to find out what happens next. I loved Noah's character and Jade's sassiness and independence. The two of them have fun banter back and forth that only makes them that much perfect for each other.
I cannot wait to see what Samantha comes up with next!!
The Cradle Will Fall by Samantha Baca is the second book in the Haven Brook series and it did not disappoint!
The intensity of the story grabs you from the very first page, and doesn't let go as you're taken on an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey that really holds in tight!
Noah and Jade are fire! There's a lot of chemistry and it makes for some great reading! The story has a lot of drama and tension, really pulling out all the stops to ensure you're as invested as possible in every aspect of their lives.
Noah is strong, charming, and though he might have a bit of a past, he just wants to do the right thing and wants to love his woman.
Jade is fiery and feisty and sweet and strong and hasn't had the best childhood, and just wants to do the right thing even if it is the difficult thing.
The secondary characters really enhanced the story, adding depth and layers and more drama and also lightness and hilarity.
This is action packed, intense, with a strong psychological thriller vibe, and the romance is ensuring and true. You won't regret picking up this read!
P. S. I hope we will get Grant's story! I want to know more about him and Liam!
The Cradle Will Fall is the second book in the Haven Brook Series and the third book by Samantha Baca which brought me back my favorite characters, this time focusing on Noah and Jade's passionate relationship and the unexpected challenges they faced on the way. I could finish the book in a day but deliberately took my time with it to enjoy their daily company. The Cradle Will Fall is full of intrigues, hot romance, drama and tension. The book can be read alone but I highly recommend you learn more about Chase and Mia and the friendship of this 4 in Til Death Do Us Part. I am not sure what Samantha's next book is going to be about but I am sure that I am looking forward to reading it.
Oh Samantha, you’ve done it again! Noah and Jade are so sexy and fun right from the beginning, and their banter makes the story seem light even in parts when it’s certainly not. The characters are written in a way that makes you love them...or despise them. The villain is so awful she will make your skin crawl from the first time you meet her. And the story moves along at a brisk pace to keep you page turning until it’s over. Highly recommend.
Great sequel but can be read as stand alone and the story is still perfectly understood. It will keep you wondering what the heck might come up next while you fall in love and annoyance and then admiration with each character, you know, like the people in your day to day life. I am looking forward to reading any book by Samantha Baca.
This book captures good vs. bad in a captivating way. Every relationship has its struggles, however the love triangle in this book takes struggles to a whole new level when the villain of the story tries to ruin the perfect relationship. I enjoyed the book, beginning to end and will always cheer for lasting, meant to be love, irregardless of obstacles along the way!
This one absolutely had more twists than the last. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Jade and Noah have a love that will withstand all kinds of tests. They both love hard and protect fiercely. Samantha's books have quickly become favorites.
This one had an unsettling vibe to it from the beginning. The villain rubbed me the wrong way right off the bat- her actions, the things she said. And it only got worse.
I really liked the dynamic between Noah and Jade. As a relatively new couple they were faced with an incredibly difficult challenge when Cindy popped up out of nowhere. Add that to Jade's own hangups, and it had the potential to go seriously awry.
The author did a great job building the intensity of the tension. As the book progressed the villain's actions increased in severity, causing a lot of "oh no, she didn't!" moments over here.
Overall another super-satisfying read from this newer author. Recommended for fans of romantic suspense!
I really liked this one. It kept me interested and I didn't want to put it down. I read it in one sitting. It had some good angst and drama. OW was a nutter, but made for a good read. I took it down a star because I thought it was pretty dang obvious that OW was trying to single white female Jade, so I am not sure why they didn't figure out who took the locket, or question why she knew where everyone lived and how she knew what they were doing. They were worried she was dangerous to Mia and didn't want her alone with her, but didn't seem worried about Jade being alone with her and OW moving in right next to Jade. Also when they went to see of Jade was at OW's apartment, why wouldn't they call the cops if they were concerned she was dangerous and holding someone against their will?
Noah and Jade's story is even better than the first book! Very "single white female " where we have a girl, Cindy, from a brief encounter with Noah who has returned to get Noah into her life, but first she has to eliminate Jade. Cindy clearly has mental health issues, copying Jade's hairstyle, clothing, even her job! I was constantly on edge to see what Cindy would be up to next. This book kept me engaged to the wee hours for a few nights! After some very nail biting chapters we come to the conclusion and I was shocked about one part I didn't see coming! I cannot wait to read book 3 of this series and learn more about my friends in Haven Brook!
The hero is an idiot. This reminds me of the infamous- We Were on a Break issue of Friends, where Ross and Rachel break up, and Ross immediately has a one-night stand. Hero hid it, aka he lied to the heroine's face when she asked if he was with someone else when they were broken up. Heroine's new coworker who is pregnant is ONS. There is a lot of similarities to Single White Female plot line, but no one dies.
Couldn't pu this one down. Jade and Noah's story is one of my favorites. When a story keeps you on the edge of your seat you know it's a good one . Just when I think things are already at the high point it would take a turn and something else would happen! No spoilers here but if you love romance, friendships, hardships and suspense this book is for you !
I couldn’t wait to start this book. Ever had a crazy encounter just turn crazy??? The rollercoaster of this book was incredible. I couldn’t stop reading because I had to know what would happen. But man the feelings that came with this book. Heads up that you will get the feels. My heart is just feelin those feels still.
Just as with the first book, I couldn’t stop reading this one. Once I was ready to put it down for a bit, something would happen, and I would have to keep reading. I feel like I really know these characters - what will happen next? Job well done, Samantha!
Yesterday felt like a whirlwind of a day, between training a new girl at work who just happened to be carrying my boyfriend’s baby, to Mia having her baby, to Noah and I working things out. Lots of twists & turns
Loved this story even more than the first. Yes, suspenseful and griping story that will have you tearful and happy! Samantha Baca you really did it for me with this story! Thank you!
This story was filled with heat, romance, serious drama and funny banter and chemistry! It was so good to see other characters from the previous story and I am happy that I was able to get the entire series! Love the writing and say that this author is now on my watch list of must reads!
