Throw Me A Curve

Rate this book
There isn't much in life Ryder Montero loves more than Baseball. His talent will most likely be taking him straight to the majors, and he would do anything to make his mom proud. Between baseball, hanging out with friends, and falling in love with his best friend he doesn't have time for much else. Wait, what? Morgan Wilson has always had a crush on her best friend, Ryder, but knows nothing will ever come of it. Between a new relationship and avoiding her parents she tries to ignore her developing feelings. With so many curves thrown their way it's almost as if it isn't meant to be. But maybe fate has different plans? Maybe the final curveball thrown will be enough for them to realize they're meant to be after all.

Where to start? Throw Me A Curve is so much more than a romance book. It's about friendships, and growth. Ryder and Morgan's love if a rollercoaster ride of a journey.

Morgan's life is perfect from the outside but looks can be deceiving. Her mom is a drunk and her dad is never around. What gets Morgan through the days is her friendships. Morgan's friendship with Stefanie and Ashley helped make this book what it was. Those three have this life long solid bond that will never go away. When one fell the others picked them up, no questions asked. While things around Morgan fell apart she had people who love her in her corner.

Ryder's life was picture perfect. Amazing mother who would do anything for him. A pitching talen that will take him to the major leagues one day and a solid friendships. But he's a teenage boy and sometimes decisions are made that can your life forever.

Can you say slow burn? I wanted to strangle both of these two. When one got their stuff together the other did the opposite. The push, pull of their relationship had me on the edge of my chair. I couldn't but this book down. Morgan and Ryder's relationship had so many layers to it. They were friends before anything and even through all the tough they remained friends. Morgan is a better person than me because I'm not sure if I were in her shoes I would have been as great about it.

I love feeling all the emotions. And that's what Pennington has done. I felt the emotions in this book in my heart. I felt their pain and heartbreak and wanted nothing more than to hug them and say it would be okay, while also slapping them upside the heads.

Signs of a good author is when they get better with each book. And Nikki Pennington is that. With every book she has written she has improved.

Nikki Pennington has delivered a must read, angsty, 5 star book. Ryder and Morgan are just amazing characters. She has created this little world in Colorado that has just held me captivated. The plot was fantastic. The characters were amazing, and each and everyone of them had a purpose and added to this story. While Morgan and Ryder are amazing, the side characters helped make this book what it was. The friendship and family bonds were phenomenal. I can't wait to see what she gives us next!

I love young love! And reading about Morgan & Ryder gave me all the feels. The push & pull, the doubts, the tension.... it’s all here.
It was lovely to read about Shay again too & get glimpses into her & Jimmy’s lives now. That woman is amazing. She’s the mother Morgan never had but so deserves. I adore her.
The ending was a fabulous set up for Ava’s story, which I hope comes next. I’d also love a Greyson & Ashley one too! Hint hint! Fab job, Nikki!

Aaahhhh I fell in love with this series from the beginning! I love how we get to see how Ryder and Ava grow and mature. It’s like watching your own family grow. But honestly I feel as if they are my family.

A high school and baseball romance that is so much more. Really, it's a love story over a lifetime. A deep, true friends-to-lovers romance with some real curve balls.
I was instantly transported into Ryder's family and their lovely dynamic. Though, not having read the Double Play duet, I didn't quite know who everyone was. You can feel sweet Morgan's pain.
Ryder and Morgan's story is sweet and messy and oh so satisfying to witness. I had real gut clenches and cried a few tears.
HIGHLY recommend this book and really can't wait for Ava's story (and hopefully beyond!)

So many emotions, great storyline & life lessons. And talk about a cliffhanger! I've grown so attached to these characters throughout the series.
