If football player Brody Shaw wants to retire from his hometown team, the Dallas Bulldogs, he needs to keep his head down and his nose clean. When the stray dog he rescued bites the pet sitter, it sets off an avalanche of bad publicity, and it's time to bring in a professional.
Dog trainer Lily Costello has no intention of training Brody's dog, CC--football players are bad news, and Brody Shaw is a player if she's ever met one. Then she sees the brand on CC's stomach. She came from a puppy mill--the very one Lily is trying to find and shut down.
Brody is all in to help the curvy trainer, and with his clout and connections, Lily finally has a lead. But it's not long before they attract the wrong kind of attention. When someone makes it clear that they'll stop at nothing to halt the search, it'll take everything Brody and Lily have to escape with their lives...
Tricia Lynne is fluent in both sarcasm and cuss words and has little filter between her brain and mouth––a combination that tends to embarrass her husband at corporate functions. A tomboy at heart, she loves hard rock, Irish whiskey, and her Midwestern roots. She’s drawn to strong, flawed heroines and believes writing isn’t a decision one makes but a calling one can’t resist.
Tricia lives in Dallas with her husband, the world's sweetest rescued Cane Corso, and a completely terrifying Clumber Spaniel pup.
The difficult topic of animal cruelty is delicately addressed in Tricia Lynne’s Protective Instinct. Lily, an outspoken dog trainer, and Brody, a football player with a disreputable reputation are drawn together by their mutual love, and need to protect dogs. As this forbidden love affair evolves they face obstacles, learn to trust each other, rise above rumors, discover truth, and embrace love.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you want to fall in love with a macho, handsome football player with a marshmallow heart, Brody is your man. If you love your fur babies and would never want to see anything bad happen to them, Lily is your woman. Two hard-headed, stubborn, suspicious people who were cut out of the same cloth. And I loved both of them … attitudes and all.
Tricia Lynn honestly filled my heart with warm and fuzzy good feelings. I loved CC, Mack and Jet. They stole my heart and I don’t think they have given it back to me. The story did dwell a little bit too much on the mistrust both Brody and Lily had and I wish they let they each other in a little bit sooner than they did. But, when they did get together, it was sweet yet explosive. And, I loved it. Tricia Lynn made both of her characters work for love but, in the end, it was truly heart-warming and honest.
I really enjoyed this story and wished I still had a puppy to cuddle with. The characters were written with grit, humor and compassion. The dogs were written with a whole lot of love and loyalty. I appreciated her knowledge of dogs and hope she doesn’t have as much knowledge of puppy mills as this book leads you to believe. The back-story of football fit right in and, set in Texas, can you have a story without football? Football, puppies, chemistry and scandal … a perfect mix.
Tricia Lynn wrote a wonderful story in Protective Instinct. It had a little bit of everything in it. Some drama, some suspense and two people and three dogs that were amazing.
This was an enjoyable read that had loveable characters and a story filled with heartache and pain, and contained a subject that was concerning and full of heartbreak. For us, the story felt very real, and we could see this entire story playing out in real time, that is how real it felt. We have to say that even if this story was fictional, especially because of the subject matter we actually learned a few things along the way that we did not know, making this even more of a compelling read.
The story had a ton of ups and downs and for Lilly and Brody because their biggest problem was trust both previous betrayed and broken from things from their past trusting one blindly wasn't going to work for them as they have yet to put their pasts behind them.
Overall we loved it, we loved Lilly's big heart and dedication to the life she chose. Brody was not like what we expected and, as another reviewer stated, just one big gooey marshmallow who was full of love and kindness. This couple had awesome chemistry. Be prepared it be an emotional test, as sometimes you need to wade through the nightmare in order to appreciate love and kindness that the blessing you are given. Just loved it, can wait to see what happens next. A first author for us, and we are looking forward t continuing this series. The story was definitely a touching story that goes straight to the heart.
Protective Instinct is the first book from this author that I have read, and I'm looking forward to reading more from her. I loved reading Lily and Brody's sports romance with a menagerie of lovable rescue dogs. I recommend this beginning of this series to anyone who loves sports, dogs, and a little suspense.
"The pride I felt... I was turning into a dog dad and I didn't even care."
Dog trainer and canine behavior specialist Lily Costello knows all about the football team, the Dallas Bulldog. Her late father was a famous player and she saw how the sport and celebrity messed with her dad's head. Her stepfather is their GM and her creepy ex-fiancé works for them too. So it's easy to see why she doesn't want to have anything to do with them. But when one of the player ask her to help with the Cane Croso he rescued, Lily can't deny the attraction she feels for Brody Shaw, and it's only getting worse the more time she spend with the man, and the harder she see him falls for his dog. When she sees the brand on CC body, the same one that one of her rescue dog sport, it's her time to ask Brody for help to find and shut down the puppy mill that did it.
It's impossible to not fall for the hero with how fast he fall in love with CC and become a dog lover. I also love Lily's no-bullshit attitude. Despite their own trust issues, at first Lily and Brody communicated very well and I was all for that but it's like suddenly they stopped talking about what they felt and the struggles they had. I'm also really happy about the dog part. While I'm no expert, I could tell anyway that the author knows what she talk about and how important they are to her. Not just because of the talk about how to handle dogs but also because they had a large part in this story. Unfortunately, I lost interest in the last third of the book because of all the dramas (in the romance and with the interactions with the other characters and bad guys) and some laughable sex talk.
This was a new to me author and I am so glad that the title and cover grabbed my attention. I fell hard for this book and its characters. This is really wonderful read that skillfully brought together an array of tropes into one simply delightful package that quickly pulled me in, had me fiercely invested and gave me all the feels. Lily, Brody and yes, I'm going to include CC here, were such amazing characters. This trio will tug on your heartstrings and have you avidly rooting for the HEA they richly deserve. A potent combination of emotion, tension, drama, humor, heat, heat, action and suspense will keep you on edge and turning pages past your bedtime. This is my frank, freely posted review.
Brody is a football player that unfortunately due to some recent trouble must keep his head down in order to finish out his career in Dallas. Lily is a dog trainer who’s having a bad day , and to add to it she realizes her new client is none other than the Bulldogs football team linebacker Brody Shaw. Brody also happens to be Lily’s crush. Brody and Lily have meet before. The chemistry between them sparks, however Lily is the general managers stepdaughter. Brody knows that it has to be hands off when it comes to Lily. I loved the writing, and I was fully invested in these two. Protective Instinct is a sweet football contemporary romance. I love that this book takes an otherwise regular football romance, and brings light to the horrors of Puppy Mills. This quick reads is a journey for Brody and Lily as they try to find their HEA but also overcome their individual hang ups. 3.5 /5 star Read.
This was a difficult book for me because I'm an animal lover and I have a very visual mind ( plus I saw a puppy mill documentary that scarred me for life) so I had to stop a few times while reading this. Now, I really liked both of leads here, Lily and Brody were awesome, had an amazing chemistry but what I love the most was how they team up to find and how much they fought to take down the puppy mill. Although I like the writing and the story I still felt like some things needed a better wrap-up that's why I'm only giving this 3 stars. Overall an excellent read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
A new author for me and I am so glad the blurb caught my attention to try her because I fully recommend this book. If you love dogs or are a sports fan then you will love this book. A thrilling friends to lovers romance with suspense, mystery and intrigue. Told in dual POV By Brody Shaw and Lily Costello. Lily wants nothing to do with her local football team the Dallas Bulldogs because they have brought her nothing but pain and heartbreak. She is content with her life as a dog trainer and canine behaviour specialist. Brody is the star linebacker for the Bulldogs and wants to stay playing for them until he can retire in two years. Dick the general manager has other ideas and wants him gone. Dick by name and nature happens to also be Lily’s step father. Brody is witty, flirty with a devastating smile and easy-going facade. His reputation precedes him which causes many of the problems he faces during the story because there is more to him than he lets people see. Lily has a good sense of humour but very independent with strong views and beliefs.
“All I want is for you to see me and all you see is football.”
He has rescued a Cane Corso and needs help with her rehabilitation. They are both shocked when Lily arrives as his publicist booked training appointment. Brody and Lily have always got on extreme well and it turns out she had a slight crush on him when he played for her college team. Both have experienced a terrible relationship and are extremely wary of people and their intentions. Due to her inside knowledge of ballers she determined not to date one and he won’t let anyone close as worried they want the number 58 and not the man. She works with his dog and is horrified to find out CC is from a puppy mill. Her own dog is from there too and she’s been desperately trying to find it and close it down. They have always been attracted to each other and now working together it is hard to deny the chemistry and connection they feel, but with the clauses in his contract and all the emotional baggage they both carry, they know they shouldn’t do anything about it. Resisting the pull she agrees to help with CC and he’ll help her find the puppy mill. Brody and CC develop a loving and trusting relationship which the author cleverly runs parallel to Brody and Lily’s blossoming relationship.
“I don’t give my heart away easily - if you want it, though, it’s all yours if you’ll be careful with it.”
The story becomes very emotionally intense as the couple give into their desires but can’t lose their worries and doubts involved with being together. Both have trust issues which results in a rollercoaster of events. Meanwhile you also get all the drama of them looking for the puppy mill, Brody coping with an injury and Dick trying to manipulate Lily. Amongst all the angst and wanting to bang their heads together at times is a passionate love story wrapped up in a thriller with so many twists and turns. There is a stunning climax to this book with a set of surprising revelations I never saw coming to superbly join up all the loose ends and questions. The author provides the reader with excellent information about different dog breeds, responsible dog ownership and training. Also the horror of puppy mills and pet stores. I loved the comparison between the dogs behaviour and game plans which Lily used to explain it all to Brody . A very insightful and ingenious way of looking at things. The banter throughout the book lightens the mood and breaks up the moving and poignant scenes. Hayes Walker is Brody’s teammate and best friend who provides some of the funniest lines so hopefully we might get his story next and more from the Unlovabulls. There is so much more to this story than just your average romance with both the humans (and the dogs) suffering from real worries and concerns due to their previous experiences. To me the stars of the book are CC, Jet and Mack because they do steal the show as they give their broken owners the unconditional love only a dog can give as they learn to love each other.

Protective Instinct coaxed out a fragile vulnerability and beautiful wonder through its blinding and overwhelming love and hope. Once a crack formed in the hard shell of these wonderful characters, there was no going back. Love and hope pushed and squeezed its way in with no way to stop it. When reality hit and they knew they were goners, all they could do was try to fix their mess and hold on tight. Nothing would stop the inevitable pull towards each other. For them, it was ultimately full steam ahead or nothing.
Brody is hoping for a good season with his team. He needs to keep pushing ahead in order to continue playing at home and retire in the near future. The last thing he needs is a distraction as utterly breathtaking and captivating as Lily. She needs to leave as soon as they are done working together for his sanity. Lily is not one to leave something undone when it comes to the care and well being of the dogs she looks after. She is a fierce protector, and she somehow convinces Brody to do more then he ever would have imagined. With everything on the line, can these two come out unscathed with their hearts intact, or will insecurities and past pain destroy their brilliant chance at a once in a lifetime love?
I have to say it was so easy to fall in love with the big teddy bear Brody and his heart of gold. He was lost and longing for a love that would be true and lasting. However, Lily was hoping to skip through life without ever being touched by people again. She locked her heart away, and made it impossible to be found and claimed by one as loving and hopeful as Brody. They had a long road to travel, but it was so worth every tear and painful moment. What they found in each is something most only hope to see -a unicorn love.
Tricia Lynne has stolen my heart, and I want to become lost in her spectacular worlds. She writes about real people dealing with real issues all the while nearly tripping on a love they just can't walk away from. These are stories that I am desperate to read because they are real, and I can see myself in their shoes. This tells me that anything is possible, and that love is truly for anyone who longs for it. If you want to find stories for the average, every day person, this is your author. She will speak to your heart and give you the encouragement to never give up.
I am all in my feelings about this story. If you are a sports romance fan this is for you. If you are an dog lover, this is for you. If you like a friendship to lovers book, this is the story for you. This is set around the Dallas Bulldogs football team and one of their star players, Brody Shaw. Brody, has earned the spotlight on the field and hated it off the field. Portrayed as a notorious playboy his luck has finally caught up to him. The teams bosses are not happy with Brody, and have given him a 3 strikes order and Brody, is on his last strike. Strike 2 came with his rescue dog bites the dog sitter and bad press follows . Lily Costello, is the daughter of one of the best football players to have ever played on the Dallas Bulldogs. She is also the step daughter of the GM of the team. Lily has ZERO interest in having anything to do with the team and that includes Brody Shaw. But when she gets the call to train a dog with a bite history, she is shocked to see Brody. One look at his beautifully damaged dog Lily knows she has to help. Lily and Brody have a chemistry that is undeniable and they both know it and both know NOT to act on it. Lily has a job to do, get Brody and his dog CC, to a level of trust, but spending all this time with Brody is turning out to be more than Lily bargained for. With pressure for her mother and step father, Lily is thrown into a web of lies and manipulation to get what they want. Lily, has only one goal in mind, get a no kill dog shelter set up to help as many animals as possible. Is she willing to sell her soul to accomplish ? Will Brody get his 3rd and final strike and be sent packing from Dallas. Will Lily and Brody more from friends to lovers? This story has so much heart at the root of it. Lily and her love of dogs and their well being is felt on each page. There is an underlying sexiness that you feel with Lily and Brody are together and you want them to just give in. Brody is just so swoon worthy and you can't help but fall in love with him. There is drama on and off the field and I am so excited for more to come.
Brody is close to retirement. There are only two football seasons left till retirement. He really needs to keep his head down. Especially since after the hotel suite incident has him skating on thin ice. His whole career rides on him not misbehaving and not meeting girls!
Lily’s relationship with her stepfather is strained. He keeps trying to convince her to give up her career as a dog trainer to work as a physical therapist for the football team. Lily does not trust her stepfather and feels that there are ulterior motives behind his actions.
Lily and Brody partner up to find the puppy mill that is responsible for the hurt and dead pups found in a certain area, including Brody’s rescue. As they seem to be getting closer to finding it, the danger closes in and someone starts to threaten Lily.
Can Lily and Brody save the dogs before someone takes their lives?
I truly enjoyed this book. It hits close to home and really affects my heart, as I am a dog lover. It has some triggers that are hard to stomach, with the abuse the pups endure. Makes me want to be there to help take down the enemy. The book is so relatable that you can imagine yourself there with the characters.
Overall this book was truly inspiring and wonderful. The characters are beautiful, strong and heroic. Body and Lily have loads of chemistry, yet they each have their own set of issues that make their journey a tough one. They each struggle with trust issues and a horrible past. The journey may be hard but it is very beautiful and awe inspiring.
The author did an excellent job of portraying her character and laying out their roles. She created a story about real life problems. Her story will draw in her readers and hold them tight till the very end. Giving them an ending that was just perfect. I can’t wait to read more.
Lily is a dog trainer ( really she trains the people who take care of the dogs) who’s having a rough day and it gets even worse when she realizes her new client is none other than the Bulldogs football team linebacker Brody Shaw, who just so happens to be her crush. Brody and Lily have met before and have a great chemistry but right know Brody is in his own set of trouble with false scandals giving him a bad rep and a new rescue dog that he doesn’t know how to handle ( although he desperately wants to). Having grown up with a football playing dad and her general manager for the team stepdad Lily knows all about moves that football players like Brody make and even though her heart says yes her mind says no, but she can’t deny the love that Brody has for his dog CC and begins to help him, falling for him more along the way. As the story progresses their chemistry heats up until I felt like pulling out a fan. I can’t stress to you how much I liked this book. There was a lot of information about dogs but it was blended really well with the characters actions. There is also a nice balance of heat and humor with a sprinkle of action as the two try to stop a puppy mill. I highly recommend this book and hope (fingers crossed) that there will be another book coming about another certain football player . 5 stars, must read. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.
- As a vocal dog lover and advocate, I’d be really happy if this story took a drastic turn and Brody and Liliana strapped on weaponry Rambo style and went on a path a bloody vengeance. - I think I shall have to agree, there isn’t much better to look at than a hot, half-naked man cuddling his dog. I’m liking the visuals this book gives. Ha! - A lot of great info on dog breeder ethics and illegal setups. Also, a lot of reiteration of the obstacles between our MCs. Starting to feel slow. Ready to get to some sort of action. - I think the style of this one might not be for me. Nothing wrong with it just a slower build and more introspection than I prefer. - I do love the conversations though! - Finished strong. Once everything came together I was a happy reader. I’ll always be on board for a strong storyline about dog rescue. - I did miss some sort of wrap-up about everyone’s comeuppance. I needed more closure on Dick. - Overall I still stick with my early assessment. It was good but the style and pace of this one wasn’t entirely for me.
* I received a free ecopy of this book from the publisher via netgalley.
Dog book with a sports twist? Sports book with a dog twist? Either way, this was a 5 star read for me.
I love sports romances. I love them even more when the technical details are there. Knowledge and accuracy speaks to my logical brain while the romance makes my romantic side happy. Add in dogs, in the same fashion? Technical knowledge with happily ever afters? Ahhhhh! Love, love, love.
Lily was a bit frustrating, but I think that adds to the story line. She had dealt with some crappy stuff prior to meeting Brody so she legitimately had a reason to be cautious and a little ornery.
However, the same could be said for Brody. I think people forget that professional athletes are real people and bad stuff can happen to them too. After enough bad experiences, you would be hesitant to trust people too.
The chemistry was there, making the slower evolution of their relationship worth the wait. The drama and tension is also there creating a story that pulls you in and makes you turn those pages.
I am very happy I found this author and series and am already waiting for book two
Tricia Lynne is a new to me author, and I definitely loved the fact that we had some football talk & rescue dogs. It's the story of Lily, who has followed her heart by training rescue dogs despite her stepfather who wants her to work for the Dallas Bulldogs (Brody's football team). She ends up at an appointment that brings her face to face with pro football player Brody Shaw, which almost has her leaving. See, they've been flirting at events they both were at, but she truly believes he's just a player so no matter the sparks flying, she doesn't intend to go there. As they spend time together because of his rescue dog, CC, those sparks are getting harder to ignore. Oh, and there's also the suspense factor as she finally has a lead on a puppy mill she's been trying to uncover, and as they get closer, it's bringing on some unwanted attention. A book of football, dogs, twists, and two people circling each other with sparks flying everywhere isn't a book you want to miss out on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
First in the Unloveabulls series, in which football hero Brody Shaw is on thin ice with his team, the Dallas Bulldogs. When the dog he rescues bites the dogsitter, he seeks help from Lily Costello, a dog trainer who knows lots about dogs and about football players, but she wants nothing to do with Brody, even if his dog is one she'd happily assist, particularly when she discovers she may have been part of a puppy mill before Brody took her in.
If you love dogs and want nothing but forever homes for them, this book may be for you, even if the information about puppy mills may be hard to take. But also part of this story is how both Brody and Lily have to get over serious trust issues each has and how it influences their reactions not only to each other but also to the people they have to deal with in the football team's front office and elsewhere. A story that will grab your attention and not let go. I, for one, am looking for to the next tale in this series.
Hot football player and rescue pups, what more could you want??
Protective Instinct is a sweet football contemparary romance.
Brody and Lily have been acquaintances for a long time, the chemistry sizzles but neither of them cross that line, until one poor abused Cane Corso comes into their lives and flips everyone’s world around.
I love that this book takes an otherwise regular football romance, and brings light to a constant deplorable issue the world is dealing with, puppy mills are one of the most horrific problems plaguing the world.
Lily and Brody work together to overcome, or at least attempt to overcome, all their hang ups and work out a HEA in their love story, and that conclusion, the villain?! Psh didn’t see that coming! Well done!!
This was a new author to me and the blurb grabbed me right from the get go. If you love a good sports romance with some great characters, humor, suspense and great chemistry this will be a great read for you. The characters and the development is great. Loved the plot and the story flows effortlessly. This story will have you with all the feels. Brody is so swoon worthy *fans self* and the subtle sexiness between him and Lily you can just feel it in your bones. Also who doesn’t love rescue pups so freaking cute. But what really got me was that ending like whoa didn’t see that coming at all. This book had me hooked from the first chapter and I am really hoping we will be getting more in this series and from this author. Job well done!
He is a professional football player with trust issues. His reputation is in shambles from his past and not so past behavior. She is a professional dog trainer with trust issues. They are placed in close contact when his rescue dog bites a sitter. There relationship almost mirrored his dog C.C’s relationships with him. CC had to learn to trust just like they did. It seemed it was easier and quicker for CC. Not only do they have to deal with CC and their relationship they also are trying to run down a dog mill operation. Things get a little tense when the Brody and Lily get to close to the mill. Although the plot is a bit heavy with the mill angle, Dog lovers will enjoy the fun times with CC, Mack and Jet. Brody will melt you heart with his instant love for CC.
This was my first book from Tricia Lynne and I really enjoyed it! Romantic Suspense can be a tough genre to get right. Sometimes it leans too far into the suspense or romance at the expense of the other, but I felt like both were well done.
I liked both Brody and Lily. He is a good guy who plays football and admires Lily and is impressed with her dogs training skills. She is strong, smart, and dedicated to helping dogs.
The chemistry between them is obvious from the first moment they are together, but she is the stepdaughter of the owner of the team he plays for. That and the danger they are in complicates things, but they definitely get their HEA.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Hot guys and dogs what more could you want! This book is definitely not a typical romance. I liked that this book focused alot on the topic of animal cruelty especially puppy farms. It definitely gives you alot to think about. Brody is a football star trying to keep his nose clean after some bad press. Unfortunately an incident with his newly found dog and a dog sitter makes life that bit harder. He hires a dog trainer to help who just happens to be his team managers step daughter Lily. Lily and Brody have met before and there is some definate heat and chemistry between the 2 which doesn't help Brody in his quest to keep his nose clean. When Lily finds out that his dog is a rescue that he found on the street it melts her heart to him that bit more and she opens up to him about her search to close down a puppy mill and wants Brodys help. I enjoyed this one although it started off a bit slow but if picked up the more I read. It had a bit of a twist too which i enjoyed. It had everything i look for in a romance, steam, humour, swoony moments and a good dose of drama. Im looking forward to more from this series.
This is book one in Lynne’s The Unloveabulls series. The one thing that was off for me about this story is that it’s labeled a sports romance. While reading, I didn’t get that feeling. Sure, Brody is an NFL player, but it doesn't have the sports vibe. To me, the story was more about Lily and the puppy mill. The story is an intense read. Lynne wrote a very passionate read with the twists and turns of a great suspense. This author certainly has talent when it comes to developing characters and I really like this world she's created, I’m excited for September to get here so I can devour book two.
I really loved this book, If you’re afraid to read it because you think any talk of animal cruelty will rip your heart out: don’t be, it’s handled perfectly and nothing is graphic. It’s all about the rescue & rehabilitation.
Oh and there is a love story 🤪 I got caught up in the dog talk, I like them more than most people.
Shaw & Lili are a perfect match, they both have bleeding hearts (Shaw’s might not be as obvious) and sparks fly between them. I love their banter and their steam! I love that they worked together to help all the dogs, that they’re a team. ❤️
Athletic woman who is connected to a football team becomes a dog trainer and focuses her attention on trying to shut down puppy mills, with the help of a handsome athlete. If you are expecting a mystery, buddy think again: this is an out-and-out full-scale porn show. Detailed love scenes, not squishy graphic but certainly leaving nothing to the imagination, full-out "bodice ripper" well-punctuated with moans, groans, grinds, slips, slides, foreplay and afterplay. Whew. Yeah, there's some football talk, some dog talk and even some talk about puppy mills, but really, this is nothing but well-written soft porn. .
Dog on the cover? An instant sell for me. Add in a great story – win! Interesting twist on a sports romance since it was intertwined with other story threads. Loved Brody and Lily as both were strong yet flawed characters. There is information about the plague of puppy mills which is very current in today’s demand for puppies while in covid lockdown. This story also touches on the shady machinations of professional sports teams with their players. Great read.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
Not only did this amazing author use her platform to inform and educate (👏👏) but ....she also wrote a steamy book.🥴🥴🥴
It's also such an honest picture of a dog lover.... the dog voices had me laughing out loud because I do that for my dogs and cat. 🥰🥰 signs of a true animal lover. Another reason, you miss Tricia made your way into my heart.💕 This story rips your heart out of your chest and opens your eyes to the abuse animals suffer at the hands of heartless beings. You will ugly snot bubble cry, tissues needed. And you will hold your fur babies closer.
I fully enjoyed Brody and Lily’s story. He is a football player that unfortunately due to some recent incidents has to keep his head down in order to finish out his career in Dallas. One of the things that has happened is the dog he rescued but the dog sitter. So he ends up with Lily to help him and he already knows her. In fact they have lots of chemistry together but unfortunately she is the general managers step daughter and he can’t cross that line. The two team up to find a puppy mill and sparks continue to fly. I loved the writing and I was fully invested in these two. They definitely have a lot of emotional baggage in the past which bleeds into the possibility of a future together. I was lucky to receive an ARC and definitely recommend picking this title up when it release.
