I really enjoyed it! But I would have liked if our protagonist wasn’t always joking. I wanted more serious moments from her and more character development. She was the same beginning to the end and it was really frustrating because so many different things were changing for her and she never grew from it imo. Other than that it was really fun to read, I laughed so much while reading this!
English title is "I have the Halo of Overbearing President" Actual rating is 3.5 stars
Not going to lie, the summary of this one on Novel updates confused me, but the last novel I read annoyed me and I was up for some comedy.
Our main character was in the business of making media (movies, tv etc) and the story started with her rejecting a novel because she hated the type of story that pits women against each other (actually one of the reasons I dropped my last novel). She was struck by lightning and ended up in the role of Chu Chu, the villainous woman who harasses the female lead just after she pushed the FL off a roof into a pool.
She has a halo of the antagonist female and the man yelling at her has the Male Lead halo (I kind of pictured it like a character name hovering over you in an MMO). She rejected the prompting from the "world" telling her to act like the villain to the point where she not only vomited blood, but she threw herself off the roof of her company and the world reset multiple times before her halo/title changed to overbearing president. If you've read any of the cliché overbearing CEO/president novels, she had to pull some of those actions and lines with the original female lead. It is utterly HILARIOUS. Think: "Woman, are you trying to get my attention?"
I laughed so many times reading this. So why only three and a half stars? Well, about two thirds of the way through, it lost a lot of the drive and humor. It was still good and there were still some laughs but the halo thing pretty much vanished only to briefly show up in the extra chapters.
This was still a fun read, nothing super heavy which is a nice change.
This book was simply fun. I don't even remember the last time a book made me laugh out loud. While funny and entertaining, there were quite a few inspiring moments throughout the book.
