Clara and Reid are marvelous characters who live in this wonderfully written, excellently paced, well-plotted, and well-delivered story. They have more in common than they first realize because they have both faced heartbreak and loss in their lives – but they face them differently. One seeks revenge and the other buries the pain deep inside. They come together in an exciting and steamy romance as they race to deliver a message that will save many lives. If only they can get there in time.
Clara Fletcher’s family seems to see her as a gentle soul who cannot make her own decisions in life. Some of that stems from the fact that she is the only one of the Fletchers who hasn’t gone into a rage and railed at the English for what they did to her family. How could she do that when everyone else was so busy raging and railing. Somebody had to keep a cool head – so Clara buried her sorrow deep within her and went on with what had to be done. The fact that her brother, Drake, and her mother are now arguing over Clara’s future without ever asking Clara what she thinks is just finally the straw that broke the camel’s back. Clara decides she’ll go to Paisley Abbey and become a nun like the lovely one she helped to heal before.
Reid MacLeod is a warrior who has been tasked with delivering a message about an impending English attack on Dumbarton Castle. He is moving as quickly as possible because the earlier Lord Tavish gets the warning, the more people can be saved. However, as he passes near a dwelling, he smells smoke and hears the screams. He is instantly transported back to his childhood when the English trapped his family inside their cottage and burned it around them. He was the only one to survive. He couldn’t save his family – he was only seven – but he can save this one. As he quickly dispatches the English, he feels a deep burning pain in his back. Someone has thrown a dagger and stabbed him in the back.
Clara didn’t mean to injure a Scot. She thought the big, burly warrior was one of the English who were harming the family. As a gifted healer, she can’t leave him and takes him back to the cave in which she had spent the previous night. What she finds is worse than the wound she just inflicted on him. There is a seriously infected wound right beside the one she caused – and the warrior is fevered.
The warrior will not delay his mission – he cannot – so Clara insists on accompanying him along the way so she can tend his wounds. The journey will be filled with excitement, adventure, and peril, but along the way, love also happens. Can each of them put away their memories of the past and build a future together? Will they even survive the battle with the English?
This is an excellent book and I am so glad I have read it. Clara and Reid are wonderful characters who deserve their hard-won HEA. I hope you’ll give the book a try and will enjoy it as much as I did.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When Clara Fletcher’s brother Drake and her mother begin arguing about her future, she is troubled, she has no desire to be a burden to her family, so she decides to take matters into her own hands and runs away with the intention of taking her vows as a nun at the Paisley Abbey. Clara is a skilled healer and longs to help people, so she knows she will be welcomed at the Abbey, but a small part of her grieves the death of her secret dream to have a family of her own.
Reid MacLeod is on his way to see Lord Tavish in Dumbarton Castle with a missive from the King warning of an impending attack by the English when he comes upon a cottage being set alight by English soldiers and it sparks memories of his own childhood tragedy – he intervenes and as he is fighting, he is struck in the back with a dagger. When he wakes, he finds himself in the care of the one woman he has never forgotten – Clara, the sister-in-law of his friend and former commander, Sir William.
Clara was horrified to realize she attacked Reid by mistake and knows she can’t leave him injured. She takes him back to the cave she camped in and discovers it is not just the wound she inflicted that has brought him down, but a previous injury that has become infected. Reid insists that he can’t stay and be treated, that he has an important mission to complete. A mission that Clara decides she will complete on his behalf.
Reid refuses to give up his mission and grudgingly agrees to let Clara accompany him, but plans to leave her at the Abbey and keep her well away from the trouble coming to Dumbarton. Being with Clara makes Reid long for a life that he swore he would never have. After losing his entire family, Reid lives in the hope of avenging them and decided long ago that he would never place his heart in danger of being broken again, but Clara tempts him like no other.
Clara finds herself falling for Reid and begins to hope for a different future, she knows that Reid has closed his heart to love and wonders if she can breach the walls he has erected – but before she can even think of that, they need to complete his mission – a task that seems nearly impossible when Reid is injured again.
This was a well-written, nicely-paced story filled with action, emotion, and steamy love scenes. Clara and Reid are wonderful characters, who each have their own crosses to bear and their journey to HEA is not without challenges. The book delivers a story filled with action, heartache, loss, revenge, surprises, steamy love scenes, a heroine who can hold her own in battle, a hero that will have choices to make, and finally, a HEA that brings a sigh to your heart and a smile to your face. I highly recommend this title, it is definitely my favorite of the series (so far) and while it is the third book in the series, it could easily be read as a standalone title.
*I am voluntarily leaving a review for an eARC that I requested and was provided to me by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.*
Clara’s Vow. I loved everything about this story. The author shows her talent in many ways in this story. The plot that the writer chose made the book all the more interesting for me to read. The book reads at a good pace, which I liked. I didn’t want to miss all the action and entertainment that happens with this story. Clara and Reid, the soon to be couple, where awesome in this book. I love how the author writes her characters with a strong personalities. Both, Clara and Reid had me rooting for their love match from the beginning. The book has so much realism to it. From the way the writer describes the Scottish lands and how she describes the structures of homes. The realism also comes from how the characters interact with each other and the conversations that they have. Having a believable plot helps too. The romance between Clara and Reid was so sweet and beautiful. I like how the writer exposes their relationship early in the book. For me this allowed for me to enjoy reading the romance between the two as the took on the many obstacles that were thrown at them on their journey. The story had humor to it that provided some witty moments in between the serious or dramatic moments. Until next time my fellow readers... read on.

Will he let old scars hold him back from possible happiness...
After the previous book Kinsey’s Defiance, I did not thought the author could outdone this one. But I was wrong, Clara’s story is as much moving and poignant.
All her life Clara reigned on her temper, shutting it down but her anger and pain are never far from the surface, she just let them free, why she appears as the tranquil sibling, the loving hand with is to heal and sooth. So one more time, she holds on her own needs and decides for a different path, one which will ease everyone’s worry, even if it means the end of all her dreams. But her journey will not be the quiet trip she expected, her encounter with a warrior will make her doubt her path and even reconsider her own hopes. Reid lost everything as a young boy, since he armored himself against any kind of attachment, refusing to revisit the same pains as he suffered two decades ago. Plus he has no time for entanglement, he has a revenge to carry out. Yet when he unexpectedly stumbles upon the woman who appears regularly in his dreams since he first saw her some time ago.
I loved how along the pages Clara is the stronger character of them both, despite Reid being a warrior wearing a sword, she rescues him, heals him, saves him, heals him again, while still staying Gentle Clara. With her kindness, honesty she slowly breaks through his walls, letting him come to the conclusion, his life would be worse without her in his. Yet for them to arrive to the end of their path, they will have to blur some rules, break walls and move around pre-established roads. 5 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Since his entire family was murdered by an unfeeling English baron when he was just a boy, Reid MacLeod has devoted his life to gaining vengeance. With the Scottish king reclaiming lands lost to England, Reid has worked to become one of his top warriors. Now, entrusted with the role of messenger, he must warn one of Scotland’s border strongholds of an impending attack from the English. On the journey he crosses paths with the beautiful woman he’s been unable to forget since he first set on her a year ago.
Clara Fletcher is tired of discussions of her future causing arguments between her mother and older brother and decides to make her own decision and employ her healing skills as a nun. She sets out on her own but during her travels a skirmish with stray English reivers leads to her accidentally wounding a Scot. She tends to his injuries and when she finds out his mission, she knows she must travel with him to keep helping him heal. She also can’t seem to bring herself to part with him for other reasons, most keenly the intense feeling of connection he stirs in her.
With opposing goals in a war-torn land, a future between Clara and Reid seems impossible. He’ll have to set aside his fears and his need for revenge, and she’ll have to put her own needs first for once if they’re to stand a chance.
I’m beginning to wonder if Madeline can write a book I don’t like. This story was excellent, with complex characters and a fast-paced storyline that kept my attention. Reid had so much pain to work through, it was heartrending and Clara’s sweet, caretaking disposition was just what he needed. Clara had always focused on others and pushed her own feelings down, but Reid truly saw her and helped her do what she wanted for herself. Reid and Clara healed each other and brought out the best in each other and that was lovely, especially given the stress of all the fighting going on. I loved this couple, and Reid is now one of my all time favorite heroes. I can’t wait for Drake’s long-anticipated story now.
Energetic, passionate and action packed, this is a great Scottish romantic adventure that pulls out all the stops.
Clara is the last of the sisters to find her way in the world thus also finding her soul mate. That man is Reid, ever since he first saw Clara many months ago, she’s been on his mind, now she needs his help, but he needs hers too when injury threatens his life. These two are made for each other and in the turmoils of war they find love and passion.
Wonderful writing by Madeline that keeps you hooked on the story. Loved this book and can’t wait for Drakes book next.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Ms. Martin has done it again! This is a very emotional book that will grab you and keep you reading until the wee hours of the night because you won't be able to stop reading. I felt so much when I was reading this book, Clara takes on the world and wants to make sure everyone it alright and happy. Reid is just wanting revenge for the deaths of his family when he was a child. When the two come together, it sends sparks flying!
A gripping, precarious ride to a serene life gone array. Being the calm, quiet, peaceful one of her siblings has been her life but left her with no voice in discussions about her future.
Clara Fletcher sneaks out one night after not getting a say in what her future will be. She knows the healing arts and had once helped out a nun who offered to have Clara join the convent she was associated with. With nothing better for her that is what Clara would do.
Along the way she sees a family get attacked along with the home burned. Not realizing it was a knight helping protect the family, Clara let's loose one of her father's into his back. Reid MacLeod has been fighting since his family was killed. Reid is on a mission for King David II. Tasked with delivering a message to Dumbarton Castle of an impending attack.
Clara finds the not only does Reid enthralling from the wound she just have him but also another recent one that is now infected. As she tends to his wounds and they head to Paisley Abbey to get more assistance from the nuns. Reid tells her of his missive and since he is not able to go she does in his place.
With a battle looming, wounds to be taken care of, and families in danger these two have to work together. Along the way truths, hurts, desires, and lists reign free. Can they overcome the obstacles? Will the battle read them apart? Come along on the journey with vivid details that out you in the action and scene. Don't worry about the twists and turns as it is the best part of the journey.
We all read romance stories and pretty much know the outcome, but it's the getting to the Happy Ever After that intrigues us. This story had me captured for the entire day. Will their heartfelt feeling be able to conquer their emotional fears? This story has many intriguing factors that make the story very interesting and exciting. The charismatic characters take us on their journey of their life changing choices. Clara wants to make her own decisions and show that she can take care of herself without worrying her family. So off to become a nun is her choice. Reid is a warrior on mission for the king and also to revenge his family' s death. The two meet while Reid is being attacked. Reid is injured (she's also adds to his injury by the way), but being a healer she also saves him. From there their adventures of finding romance and love are filled with many exciting situations, smoking hot attraction doesn't take long, many confessions and emotional challenges for them each to conquer get us to a wonderful conclusion of finding their HEA. Epilogue was great and enjoyable that completed the story. Mature Reader due to Descriptive intimacy. Heat level: 3 out of 5. I received this story early for my honest thoughts.
Clara's Vow is #3 in the Borderland Rebels series, which focuses on the Fletcher family. While it can be read as a standalone novel, it's more enjoyable if you start at the beginning of the series as characters from the other novels make appearances. This novel focuses on Clara, the middle sister and a healer, who has decided to take her life into her own hands by joining priory. Clara doesn't want to actually commit herself to the church. Instead, she resolves to make this vow so that she will be less of a burden to her family.
On her journey to the priory, Clara encounters Reid McLeod, a friend of her younger sister, who became enamored with Clara the first time he saw her, over a year ago. When Reid, a messenger for the king, becomes injured, Clara must help save both Reid and the innocent lives that hang in the balance.
Both protagonists are immensely likable. You'll cheer for them and their relationship! This is a great read for that reason as well as endearing secondary characters, action, and humor. A great installment in the Borderland Rebels series! Now for Drake's story!
Clara Fletcher feels like she is a burden to her family, so she decides to leave and join a convent.
While on her way there, she sees a cottage on fire and stops and helps the mother and her children. While in the midst of all the smoke, she sees a man who she thinks is English and she throws her dagger at him.
Reid Macleod is on a special mission for the king, when he sees the burning cottage. As soon as he starts to look around he feels extreme pain in his back. Soon he discovers he's been stabbed.
Clara feels guilty for stabbing him when she finds out that he is a Scottish warrior, only trying to help the family. After she cleans and stitches his wounds, she tells him he needs to eat and rest. Reid tells Clara that he has a very important message that he needs to deliver and can not stay.
Clara decides that she will go with him to make sure he survives to fulfill his mission.
As they start out on their journey, they quickly start developing feelings for each other.
Will Reid help Clara change he mind of becoming a nun?
Scotland 1342 Reid MacLeod was on a mission to get a message to Dumbarton castle of an impending attack by the English. The only thing on his mind was vengeance.... against one man... Coming upon a fire at on the way, he saw a cottage surrounded by the English. After killing them all, he ended up with a knife in his back..
Looking up, he knew "It was her. Kinsey's sister. Clara. A woman he knew from simply looking at her he would never be worthy of... a woman he had wanted since that day he caught sight of her at the market."
Clara had fled from her home, tired of her mother and brother arguing on where she should go. She was going to join a convent. Oh, how wrong she was! Mistaking Reid for helping burn the cottage, she threw her dagger at him. Yep, a feisty lass!! But she was kind and beautiful, not what Reid was used to.
The adventure begins as they both travel to deliver the message, since Reid was still wounded.. An attraction sparked that could not be denied. Madelaine works her magic and has given us a story that will not soon be forgotten!
Born from a Scottish mother and an English warrior, Clara is caught in the middle of an argument between her brother and mother on where to live for protection. Taking matters into her own hands, she steals away in the middle of the night to join the nuns at Paisley Abbey as a healer. Reid Macleod is on a mission from the king. The English are planning an attack on Dumbarton Castle and must prepare their defenses for battle. Mistaking Reif for an Englishman, Clara defends herself and throws a knife into his back that is already injured. More healer than fighter, she gives a gentle touch to heal Reid's physical wounds and his heart bent on revenge. The interaction between Clara and Reid moves quickly to their close bond while proving she can protect the man she loves and the Scottish in war. A light, easy read with inner depth for the hero and heroine and a plot to hold your interest. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book gifted by the author. 4 1/2*STARS
Madeline Martin is one of my favorite authors and “Clara’s Vow” is one of my favorites! This beautiful love story will captivate you from the start holding you spellbound until the end. Oh and the cover is just gorgeous!
No longer wishing to be a burden to her family, Clara runs away from home with the intention of taking her vows as a nun at the Paisley Abbey. Reid, a trusted warrior to the Scottish King is on a mission to deliver a message to warn the people of Dumbarton of an impending attack by the English. Smelling smoke and hearing screams Reid comes upon a cottage under attack by the English. The memories of his own childhood tragedy drive him to help and while he is fighting the English he is suddenly struck in the back by a dagger.
Clara is shocked when she realizes that she attacked Reid by mistake and determined to use her healing powers to heal his wounds. Taking him to a cave that she’s been hiding in she discovers an old wound that has become infected. Upon awakening Reid realizes that he is looking into the face of the beautiful Clara, the sister-in-law of his friend, the woman he’s longed for since first sight in the marketplace a year ago.
Reid had determined long ago since the English had killed his family when he was a boy to never open his heart to love for fear of having to lose anyone he loved again. Clara has given up on her dreams of having her own family. She has resigned herself to living out her days as a nun. Clara, refusing to let Reid go alone decides to go on his mission and Reid reluctantly agrees to allow her to come with the intention of dropping her off at the convent.
Clara and Reid are absolutely amazing characters, both loyal, strong, brave and noble. Their journey begins as they both embark to deliver the message to save the lives of the people at the castle. This beautifully written, remarkably told story unfolds brilliantly as we see how both Clara and Reid have handled their pain and losses at the hands of the English. Reid seeks vengeance for his pain and loss while Clara’s sweet and gentle demeanor has buried her pain in an attempt to keep a clear head while all about her were raging. They are perfect together! As their journey proceeds they find that they have much in common and falling in love is inevitable. The chemistry between these two is just breathtakingly amazing!
This is a perfectly paced love story filled with romance, adventure, danger, emotions, and beautifully written, steamy love scenes. Reid is an excellent hero and Clara is my favorite heroine and together they heal one another. The dialogue is lovely and the imagery is rich in vivid detail. Yes, Madeline Martin has the loveliest way of transporting the reader to another time and place. As Clara and Reid’s love knows no bounds neither does Madeline’s talent!
Thank you so much Ms. Martin for this beautifully written story of a love that is timeless.
Clara's Vow Borderland Rebels #3 Madeline Martin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Reid MacLeod has spent everyday of his life wanting nothing more then to avenge the deaths of those he loved. He lost his family when he was a boy at the hands of an English baron. So when the Scottish King returns to reclaim all he's lost to the English, Reid quickly becomes one of his most trusted warriors. His king tasks him with warning a village of an impending attack so he goes off on his mission, but what should have been a normal task for him turns out to be so much more. He can't believe it when he encounters the very woman who haunts his dreams. She is an incredible beauty and he has never once forgotten her.
Clara Fletcher is a special woman. She always wants what's best for everyone else and always lends a helping hand so in a bid to minimize the strife in her family she decides that she will take the burden off of them and become a nun. She leaves in the middle of the night alone. While travelling to the convent, an attack in the woods leads her to accidentally wounding a Scottish warrior. She tends to his wounds which were graver then she thought because of an infection from a previous wound and learns why he is on his way to his destination. To say she is shocked is putting it mildly because she knows that he can't travel alone. Not with his injuries. Neither can she stop the burning desire that is constantly rising for this mysterious man.
What happens next can only happen in medieval Scotland along the borders. But in a land of hate and war, will her selflessness be taken advantage of? Will vengeance cloud Reids judgment when he is faced with true love for the first time in his life? Or will there be hope? Enough to break down those old grievances and let happiness reign?
Madeline Martin has done it again. What a book. This incredibly talented author brings us another 5 star read that has left me with a huge smile. Clara is the sweetest lady, but don't mess with those she loves or cares about. This is a kick butt heroine that will leave you wanting to read more about her. I couldn't get enough. I devoured this book. Reid was so protective yet Clara protected him. Madeline Martin spins a tale that will leave you breathless and needing more. I think I craved this book in a way that I haven't for quite a while. I can't wait for the next one. Ms. Martin you wrote a fascinating tale that I truly enjoyed.
I've been looking forward to reading this book, since I read Kinsey's Defiance which was the 2nd Borderland Rebels book. This is the 3rd in the series and can be read as a standalone. However, I think I enjoyed it more because I read the previous book, which our hero Reid was in.
Reid MacLeod saw Clara a year before when he met her sister Kinsey and has never been able to stop thinking of her. However, after losing his entire family because of an English baron attacking his home, he never wants to settle down, get married, and chance losing someone else he loves to the English.
Clara is the sweet sister who always thinks of others before herself. When her mom and brother, Drake, start arguing about her future, she decides that she will travel to a convent where she can help others and no longer be a burden to her family. She takes a set of throwing knifes with her that her brother taught her to use as protection.
Meanwhile Reid is on a mission for the king to deliver a message and warn the village of Dumbarton of an impending attack by the English. On his way he sees a cottage on fire with English attacking, just like what happened with his family years before. He saves the family, but Clara is also there and mistakenly wounds him with one of her knifes.
Once she realizes he's Scottish and not one of the attackers, she tends to him and learns of his purpose. She knows she cannot allow him to travel alone with his injuries.
This story is a wonderful romantic adventure to not only make it to Dumbarton to warn the village on time, but also to help save it from attack.
I absolutely loved this story and highly recommend it. Now I'm looking forward to reading Drake's next.
I received an ARC of this book, but am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Whilst this is the third book in the series it could be read on its own but seriously when a series is this good I’d recommend reading from the start. Very well written & researched with a fast paced story & strong characters of depth what's not to love? I loved both Reid & Clara whose attraction was electric, he’s the strong warrior & she's the quiet one who's a gifted healer. I loved their journey to a HEA, which included attacks by the English, rescuing children & two people finding their soul mate. I devoured it in two sittings & now waiting with bated breath for Drake’s story My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Clara Fletcher has begun to feel she’s a burden to her family and decides its best if she becomes a nun. She has sacrifice so much for her family and tries to keep her family safe. Reid MacLeod is tasked with delivering a message to Lord Tavish about an impending English attack on Dumbarton Castle. He stumbles a burning house and hears screams that remind him of his past when his family’s home burned down and he could not save anyone. He’s becomes distracted by memories and is attacks him from behind. Clara did not mean to injure a Scottish warrior, she thought he was an Englishman burning the house down. Reid recognized Clara, he’s has never forgotten the beautiful young woman he who has haunted his dreams. While she tends to Reid’s injuries she finds out his mission and she knows she must travel with him as he continues to heal and watch over him. A wonderful story of wounded warrior Reid with a haunted past and a Clara who has scarified everything for her family never thinking she would find love and happiness. Reid and Clara are perfect together. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent story.
10 STARS WORTHY!! Clara's Vow by Madeline Martine is book 3 in the Borderland Rebels series and oh how I just love this series. I think Clara’s Vow is my favorite but I probably say that with each of Madeline’s new releases. This book is so very well written and I totally lost touch with reality while reading it. A mack truck could have hit me and I would have never seen it coming it was that good and I was that into it. I was that engrossed form page 1 to the very end. Madeline’s writing keep getting better and better. This story is original and gives you the real feel of the medieval era. I found Reid and Clara both charming and lovable and I just loved how their story developed. This story has a strong women who is going to be a nun, feeling like a burden, a haunted past, revenge, not wanting to marry, injuries, battle, healing, a strong headed grandfather, rescue, protection, trying to save three children, getting an important message to a clan, risking one’s life and yes love. This book has it all and you will not be able to put it down. I am very highly recommending you read this book.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Madeline Martin has a way of weaving a story that is irresistible to the romantic. Madeline delivers yet another one of her wonderful books in Clara's Vow (Borderland Rebels, #3). A young woman, Clara Fletcher, whose future is being decided by her mother and brother is having none of it, decides for herself the best is to runaway and become a nun. Reid MacLeod has been tasked to deliver a message for the king to a clan that they are to be attacked by the English. Reid has only one task he wishes done in his lifetime, seek revenge upon a English lord who attacked and killed his family when he was very young. Reid and Clara are thrown together by fate. Their story is a wonderful story filled with adventure, twists and turns, grief, misunderstanding and most importantly love. A fantastic read you do not want to miss!
We have a knife welding heroine and a hero who refuses to stop fighting for those he loves no matter how injured.
Clara and Reid are perfect together. Both are strong and brave and both will fight to the death to protect those they love. This book has passion, battles, family loyalty, anger, hate, revenge, and love; an all consuming love that knows no limits.
The way our leads love each other caught my breath. Reid knew instantly he loved Clara, but Clara took a little longer. However once she realized how she felt and he stopped fighting his fear of failure their love became perfect, flawed and messy, but perfect. It was amazing.
I recommend this story and truly believe you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
I received an ARC of this book and am volunteering an honest review.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. I am a huge fan of Madeline Martin. She writes strong feminist characters who don’t need men to save them. She also includes historical pieces that the reader can learn from. Clara is the only sister not married of Drake. Drake and his mama don’t allow Clara to make decisions for herself. She just wants everyone to be happy at her own expense. She meets Reid on the way to the convent and everything changes.
I liked how Reid and Clara both had to let go of their past. I like how Clara is strong but sweet and how she makes you like her grandpa. If you want to read a feel good romance this is it!
Clara and Reid were an absolutely delightful couple in this third book in the Borderland Rebels Series. Their relationship was so sweet and I loved the way they each cared for the other. The storyline was action packed and exciting and certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. I appreciated all the little twists and turns the author snuck in to add intrigue to the story. Another wonderful addition to an amazing series. Thank you Ms Martin for once again giving me the opportunity to read another one of your fabulous stories.
The third in the series and another great read. Well written characters, fast paced and a HEA with an epilogue. While everything thinks of Clara as someone to protect because she is a healer, she has knife throwing skills that save the day. Reid had a traumatic childhood and turned himself into a warrior. He ends up needing Clara's help after being injured. Her attraction to him makes her second guess her decision to be a healer in a convent. He does not want a family for fear of them being taken away. Add in a battle with the English and it makes it a page turner.
I loved this couple. Clara is the most sensitive of her sisters, peaceful and a healer who decides to join a convent. On her way she encounters Reid and helps him to heal from stab wounds. Reid knew of Clara and always thought about her. He is a warrior and has no inclination to marry. But Clara breaks through his barriers. But they have a missive to deliver and a battle to be won before they can enjoy a life together.
Well lots of killings and both younger sisters put themselves in danger. I wonder if they saw me shaking my head. 😂😂 I absolutely loved loved loved the characters and storyline so much. Clara and Reid were perfect for each other. On to my last sibling story with Drake. So much love in this family!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
Clara is a sensitive and sweet woman who is also a healer. Reid is a warrior focused on revenge. When their two worlds collide it changes both the courses of their lives. This is a good story that shows the deep antipathy that existed between the British and the Scottish during that historical period. Clara had one parent from each side but had more of a British accent she was not trusted by the Scots even though she lived there. As they travel together they can’t help but fall in love and begin to build their life together.
A wonderfully fast paced adventure in the " Borderland Rebels" series. This series is loaded with adventure , danger and finding love and their place in the medieval highlands of Scotland. Each story in this series can be read as a stand alone but is so much more enjoyable if you read each book in the series. You will not be disappointed. I read an Advanced copy in exchange for an Honest review. All opinions are my own
Can't wait for Drake's book now Sweet, gentle Clara caught Reid's attention ages ago. Back when William recruited Kinsey. Now Reid's injured and Clara's dagger is responsible. I love how the dynamic between the two of them develops and changes as the story progresses. From his care giver, to his lover and eventually his wife, Clara comes a long way
