Your basic horse story, with extra cheese. Our Heroine has a wheelchair-bound brother.

I used to have a first edition paperback, and I'm not looking to replace it. I had a lot of problems with the story. Grief seems to be frowned upon here. Foals seem to be incredibly strong. And Our Heroine is just a bit of a bitch.

sad book, I enjoyed the emotional journey that we went through with joelle. I didn't understand why karle blocked joelle off from her friends and family in her grief, but hen also blocked us out as well. We never first-handedly experienced her turmoil, which would have been a very captivating and moving experience. her numbness and then blandness are typical coping facilities, but to write a novel that way is not the path I would have chosen. I wish that more focus would have been put onto Joelles yougner brother, I found that his growing bond with the filly was touching and I enjoyed the short amounts of time we were with him through joelles mind. Altogether, a good read, though difficult to follow and boring at times.

This was a really sweet wonderful book. I don't usually read horse books because I can't stand the 'pretty pink pony' syndrome that make them popular. The horses were realistic and the kids in it weren't to Saddle Cluby. Great for any teenage horse lover and still decent for an adult horse lover.

I didn’t dislike it but I didn’t really like it all that much until the end. Unfortunately most of the story was focused on Joelle moping and being miserable. We watched Jeff make progress and we watched her form a relationship with Devin. I was hoping to see things turn around in relation to the filly earlier on so that we could see what becomes of her obviously great potential. But because this is a stand alone book I don’t think we’ll ever find out.

This was a cute book. I wanted to read this before my daughter got to it to see what kind of book it was. I feel like the book drug on too long with Joelle's grief and there wasn't enough in the storyline to show the new found connection between her and the foal. My daughter might enjoy this book, but I think she would enjoy it more if there was more enjoyable moments with the filly.

Some of the more boring parts of the book were very drawn out, while the action was very quick and Intermittent. I felt like a lot of the communication between characters was not believable or realistic either. Cute story, but missed the mark on a few things

This was my favorite book as a kid. Found it as an adult on my childhood bookshelf and re-read it. The main character is a real pill for nearly the entire book but the story remains endearing even as an adult.

The title should read: "The Forgotten Filly (Thoroughbred Series, Ashleigh's Collection)" but I can't see how to tell someone to change it.

Calling it "Thoroughbred Club" sounds so awful, and not at all like the series is.

As was mentioned, it's not at all like Saddle Club which is what makes it such a great read. It's realistic, with good characters who don't always look down on each other for being rich or poor. Of course, there are a few characters like that, but only a few, and they usually get their just desserts in the end. lol.

Fantastic series all around. I loved it years ago and I still love it today!

This horse has been around this farm for a long time and these people do not pay attention to the horse. The horse is left out in the rain and when it is bad storms it has nothing to eat or sleep some where nice. So his girl takes care of the horse and keeps it to make it healthy and she uses the horse fair.
