Zo & Alana

Rate this book
An unexpected turn of events puts Lorenzo “Zo” Lacey in charge of the largest drug organization Atlanta has ever seen. He quickly learns that heavy is the head that wears the crown. Although his main focus is to seek revenge for a major transgression, Zo finds himself dealing with drama from all angles. While he’s busy hunting down a rival crew, he discovers an unthinkable betrayal that tests his leadership.

Alana Woods has known Zo since she was eleven years old. With a less than ideal upbringing, she spent years working in the streets with him. With Zo being the best friend of her older brother, Marcus, Alana and Zo were just close friends; until, they crossed the line to something more on the night of her twenty-fifth birthday. Although she feels like she’s found the love of her life, their love story is far from perfect. Not only have Alana and Zo hidden their relationship from her brother during his three-year prison stint, but they have also hidden the otherwise poorly kept secret from Zo’s wife, Courtney.

All things done in the dark will come to the light. Zo is enraged when he discovers who is at the source of an unforgivable betrayal. However, what will happen when Marcus and Courtney find out the truth about Zo and Alana’s relationship? When an uncovered truth creates a rift in Zo and Alana’s relationship, will the pair of lovers be able to overcome their circumstances and stay together?

Alana and Zo

Wow, this book was fiya. I cannot believe Marcus did what he did. He’s a snake and a clown azz, how you gonna someone that took care of you like that? Alana, has a lot going on within her situation. I wouldn’t know what to do if presented with those issues. Great read and I cannot wait for Part 2!

True Love doesn't hurt

This story showed how jealousy and envy could have a peson do some hateful things. Marcus Alana brother was such a jealous person, even though he felt the head should've come to him he didn't realize that he didn't have what it took to lead a crew. Alana &Zo loved each other for so long before they got together although, it was wrong the way their relationship started and I wish Zo would have ended his marriage first I feel their love was long overdue. Marcus wanted his sister to hold , him up in all his mess.
The love Zo had for Alana was proven when he made his promise to her. It made me so mad that Marcus would put his sister in such a messed up position he was supposed to love her but he only used her as a pawn in his crazy scheme.
This book showed superficial people, only care about themselves, until it's too late. I love the bond between Nick and Zo. I can't wait for round two. Good play Zo. Good Job Michelle Elaine

Great Read!!!

This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It wasn’t your typical hood love story. It was full of action and drama. I wasn’t sure how the relationship between Zo and Lala would play out given the circumstances that were revealed at the beginning of the book. I’m happy about how everything played out, but for a minute I was feeling some type of way toward both Marcus and Lala. The storyline was great and portrayed well throughout the book. I’m looking forward to the next book and what becomes of the characters. I love me some Zo! I know there is more drama and action to come, but hopefully there is a happy ending! Phenomenal job by the author!

Checkmate

You can't play checkers in the game of chess. I see Marcus is another Cameron Reid, full of greed, jealousy and envy. I'm not sure if I believe the reasoning Marcus gave for his actions by by my knowledge PO didn't deserve that. I really think Marcus just jealous of Zo because if they best friend it shouldn't cause that much tension that him and Alana together. It was a b🗣ch move for Marcus to tell Zo's wife Courtney about them. What kind of brother does that. I love Nick tho. He is a real one and I hope he's chosen to be his brother's number 2 even though he don't want it. 💟💟

You would think money was the root the evil but nope not in this case. Jealous and greed led to bad friendships and breaking bonds with those you love. I can’t believe that Marcus did what he did but I need more of why and proof. I hate he hurt his sister the way he did but snitching to Zo’s wife was a bitter B move. Zo and Alana clearly have chemistry like no other but what will happen when she find out he is the reason for her brother being back in jail. I love them together but this here will be the test to determine the fate of their relationship. Great read and I love how it ties back to Jada and Aaron.

I was like I know Alana ain't playing the side chick to Zo. This book was so good you can tell Zo loved him some Alana poor Courtney didn't stand a chance. Zo was with her for his children Courtney was there for the money. Marcus really surprised me didn't think he would be the one to keep an eye on. I loved me some Nick he was cool and loyal to Kayla. He wasn't for the drama and he could definitely smell a rat from faraway. Alana was so wrong but I understand Marcus is her blood, but blood doesn't matter in street affairs. Hurry up part 2. Job well done Michelle Elaine

My first

This is my first time reading this author's book and I happily recommend it. The characters are strong and complex and the revelations are good. I can understand La's position about Marcus, but I wonder how she will feel learning that he spilled the beans on her and Zo to Courtney. But Marcus is straight on some bytch shyt. Looking forward to reading part two to see how things play out.

Whew Chile

Money is the root of all evil. So Marcus ain't shit. He would've had a job and made a lot of money when he got out. Yet he had to hatch a plan to call the man who took them in. Where is the loyalty with him? I wonder how this is gonna play out? I would've thought that he would've gone down dealing with something that happened with PO. I mean technically ZO didn't touch him so Alana can't really get mad!!!!

Betrayal

What one sees as betrayal, another see as love. But one can take things to get and it can be deadly. Jealousy can destroy relationships , that can never be repaired. Zo and Alana have the real thing, but So needed to handle some loose ends in his past. I hope him and Alana can survive the Marcus situation.

This was a good read that kept my interest. While I like Zo and Alana and they seem to have very good chemistry, I do not like that fact that he's a married man. Marcus was a true hater. I love how Zo got his revenge on Marcus and can't wait for part 2.

I have been up all night reading and when I say this kept my attention boy did it.. Marcus was a sneaky and dirty lil something.. I can't wait to see how part 2 turns out. So held up to his end by not killing him but how is Alana going to act when she finds out the truth. Truly loved this read can't wait for more.

Family we trust

Oh yes a great read! I was glad when Zo finally started getting his divorce straight. He should have waited before starting a relationship. He kept his promise not to kill her brother, but how will she feel that’s he’s gone back to prison! Can’t wait for part 2.

Loved it

I can't believe Marcus was so grimy. He was jealous of his best friend. I just don't get that. I could understand him getting upset with his sister getting with Zo but he went to far with everything. I can't wait for part 2.

Interesting

I couldn’t put this story down, it held my interest until the end. I can’t wait to read part 2. Jealousy is a terrible trap people get themselves caught up in. Sad that Marcus played his friend and sister. I wonder how things will play out.

Good book

I loved Zo. He really loved Alana. Alana got on my last nerves with her behavior regarding Zo and her brother Marcus and her relationship with Zo. I hate her and Zo began a relationship while his was still married regardless of him being unhappy with his mate. Marcus was a foul dude for how he treated PO. I know Marcus will show up in the next story.

A snake is a snake

Where do I start? Jealousy is a disease. Marcus ought to be ashamed of himself, putting his sister in the middle of his mess. It’s only going up get worse from here. Kourtney is going to be a problem as well.

Good story

Marcus was a whole B.A.N. I think I enjoyed his character the most because he was easily unlikable. I wasn't feeling Zo and La's relationship but it turned out for the best. I don't know what else these characters can possibly say but I'll be waiting for it.

This was a great read you definitely did your thing with this one. I enjoyed everything about this story other than how Marcus was with Alana & Zo. The relationship between Zo and Alana although the circumstances were not ideal I love them together. I feel bad for Kiara and what her and the girls had to go through with PO being killed. I'm glad they were all able to overcome the obstacles they faced. I hate the rift that developed between Alana and Marcus because her involvement with Zo. Marcus was wrong for what he was wrong for what he was doing to the team when he got out too. Looking forward to part 2 I'm ready for the drama
