This book rises above the typical fare in the self-help genre today by providing profound Catholic wisdom and a guide to virtue rather than a guide to material success or a merely personal success. Those who follow the counsels of this book, with the help of grace, will surely enhance the perfection of their soul.
The one thing that was a little off-putting in the book was its latent Americanism. On a few occasions, Fr. Garesche turned to Washington and Lincoln as role models instead of taking examples from the lives of the saints.
