He faces a country that is far different than the one that existed pre-virus, law and order nowhere to be seen, the population equally elusive. But he must deal with it, and also deal with friction within the task force itself. In a journey that runs from Johannesburg to Jozini, he probes into how life changed in South Africa under COVID, then begins chasing a shadow that may just give him the answer to curing the world.
