An angel and a demon fell in love, and the world went to war...

Branded a traitor by his own kind, Severn knows winning demons back will not be easy, but when High Lord Luxen steals Mikhail from his grasp, he has no choice. He’s going to need all the help he can get to find Mikhail, unseat Luxen as High Lord, and build a force to rival the vicious Guardian Angel Remiel’s. Or every last demon will die when the guardian descends on London.

Weakened by his treatment in Haven, Mikhail finds himself at the mercy of the demon High Lord. A sly, powerful concubi demon, Luxen is able to manipulate the minds and hearts of those around him. Including Mikhail’s. Is Mikhail’s love for Severn strong enough to withstand Luxen’s charm? Or will he break, unleashing an ancient god’s terrible vengeance upon them all?

As the lies of the ancient past come crumbling down, Severn and Mikhail must harness their differences and unite two warring races. They must fight for truth and for love, together. Or all of London will fall.

“an angel and a demon fell in love… and they changed the world forever.” 🖤

wow, i think it’s safe to say that Ariana Nash is now definitely included in my list of favourite authors ever (yes, I KNOW this is my first series by her, but i’m almost a 100% sure i’ll love the rest of them too 🤣).
the way this author managed to completely break my heart multiple times in these books and then somehow put it back together by the end was astounding.

description

✦ the way LOVE prevailed in this series… it was beautiful.

“a demon kissed his angel in a starlit field and all the lies crumbled to dust.” 🖤

✦ this series has truly incredible writing, great word building, well written fantasy, lovable characters, a fast pace and an intriguing overarching story that keeps you interested and engaged while you’re reading it.
✦ these books are also super addicting . i said “one more chapter” way too many times while reading this...
✦ the character growth is wonderful . the mcs Mikhail and Severn both went through SO many difficult experiences and changes… and i was suffering along with them through every painful moment. i lost count of how many times i teared up while reading this series. 💀
✦ i really liked how Mikhail and Severn both overcame their past and learned to forgive, not just to each other, but themselves. the way they found strength in each other, and let their love make them stronger was beautiful. 🖤

“after everything they’d been through, every battle they’d fought, every enemy who had tried to tear them apart, they were here, together, and that meant everything.”

“Mikhail’s blue eyes bespelled, his smile was the new, rare kind. the smile of angel free to live, free to love, and in that moment, it had all been worth it – the lies, the heartache, spilled blood, and betrayal. it was all worth it. just for this, for him.”

✦ Mikhail and Severn together… they were SO intense. they might be absolute badasses most of the time, but honestly they were also such softies. 🥺 they just ruined me. i just wanted to weep from how exquisite they were together sometimes. i loved their love.

“i will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.”
Severn’s face lit up. “for a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.”
🖤

✦ Solo was such a wonderful side character!! i swear he made me laugh almost every time he appeared on page. such an innocent wonderful lil angel!🥺 (speaking of Solo... the epilogue...??!👀)
✦ and yes, Solo was for sure my favourite side character, but honestly, this series had a lot of great side characters that made this story just that much better!
✦ the ending and the way this series was tied up was everything i wanted it to be.

anyways, to sum up, all i gotta say is that i highly recommend this series to anyone who likes paranormal romance, intense, beautiful & passionate love stories and fantasy!

on my way to buy all the other Ariana Nash's books now...

🆗 Ending

This series gets better with each book! Wow, it was a roller coaster of emotions, and I had the "one more chapter" syndrome BIG TIME while reading it, even though it was a reread! 😅

“An angel and a demon fell in love…” Severn mumbled, his thoughts fucked and dreamy. But now he’d spoken, he wasn’t sure how that sentence ended. How could it end? He didn’t want to think on it, fearing the ending was not the one they wanted. But he needn’t have feared because Mikhail finished it for him, “And they changed the world forever.”

Mikhail and Severn continue to try to find a way to unite demons and angels and defeat the guardians (more specifically Remiel). The demons think that Severn is a traitor to his own kind, and the angels think the same about Mikhail. Now Severn needs to find Mikhail and save him from Luxen’s concubi powers, while Solomon is struggling with his new feelings, and does not know how to deal with all these new sensations in his body (he’s so sweet and cute).

Severn knew the look on Mikhail’s face. He was about to raze the place to the ground, with everyone in it.

Things get even more intense in this final book, as Severn and Mikhail are desperate to find a way to show everyone that demons and angels are not meant to fight each other. I like that Luxen was still involved in the story, because he is clearly more complex than I first thought, and he’s not just a jerk trying to rule over everyone and take advantage of others. I really think he wanted to help as best as he could with the little resources he had, and I am excited to see how his character will develop in the next novella because while I find him interesting as a character, I don’t exactly like him.

Sulking seemed like a perfectly good way to handle the clusterfuck that had become his life.

Poor Severn and Mikhail. It really seems like everyone is against them, or they just have shitty luck. Between being separated, drugged, attacked, and betrayed, they barely have time to enjoy each other and solidify their new relationship. While Severn is relieved to finally be in his real skin, a part of him is still anxious and afraid that Mikhail will not love him anymore, or will be disgusted by him, and it broke my heart to see how insecure he was at times. I admire their determination to push through because I honestly would have left a long time ago and found a quiet place to spend the rest of my life in peace.

The character growth in this series is so well done. Severn and Mikhail went through so many things together and on their own, and they are so different now than they were when it all began in book 1! They were able to overcome their past, move forward and forgive each other, and became stronger because of their feelings for each other and their support.

After everything they’d been through, every battle they’d fought, every enemy who had tried to tear them apart, they were here, together, and that meant everything.

I loved the way Severn and Mikhail’s relationship developed in this last book, they’ve been through a lot together, and they worked hard on their feelings until they managed to finally accept each other as they are, and accept that their love is beautiful and normal, and nothing to be ashamed of. Now that Severn is back in his demon body, things are getting even more steamy between them! Also, it's not a secret that I didn't like Mikhail much at first, but I ended up loving him a lot in this book. He changed for the better, and he's the perfect match for Severn.

There is also a new intensity between them now that Severn is back into his real body, and the smut gets even spicier! 🥵🥵

“Truth is our blade, justice our shield,” Mikhail said. “We do not need force.”

Yeah… Maybe not. The whole good vs. evil and angels vs. demons is not new or original, but the way it was elaborated in this series is great and different from the other angels/demons series I’ve read. There are a lot of twists, scheming, and action in this book, but I have to say that the ending is a little anti-climactic. It does end well, but the second and third books were building towards an epic confrontation between Remiel and Mikhail, and it fell a little short.

Mikhail threw back the sheet and rose to his feet, illusioning his wings away to prevent them from scraping the ceiling. Solo spun on his heel and stared at the door. “God.”
“Solomon, are you well?”
“Fine.” His voice cracked, and he cleared his throat. “It’s just, I recently had something of an awakening, and your appearance is quite stimulating. In multiple ways.”
His appearance was alarming? Mikhail looked down at his torso, waist, and legs. Nothing about him had changed. Severn was the one who’d undergone a dramatic physical change. Severn smirked, enjoying himself far too much. Oh… wait. Ah, yes. Mikhail was naked and semihard.
“He means you’re hot and he’s horny,” Severn translated with a wolfish grin.

“Why did Amii give you the wings if not to use them?”
“Like cocks,” Solo said.
“What?” Severn snapped.
“‘Why did Seraphim give angels cocks if he didn’t want you using them,’ you asked me. I was making a comparison.” He winced. “Was it a terrible comparison? I admit, I really don’t understand cocks.”
“Solo, just…for a second, please stop trying to help.”

Solo, my sweet ginger angel. I am so happy that he gets a bigger role in this book, and he has his very own novella coming out tomorrow!!!! He is so sweet and cute and amazing. He is discovering the whole range of emotions, including lust, and he is so funny. I laughed out loud many times because of him (and his cats) and his interactions with Severn and Mikhail.

“I…” Solomon swallowed. “I have to go back.”
“Why?”
“I have a cat.”
“A what?”
“Well, more than one, actually. I’m not entirely sure how it happened. I took pity on the creature after I was charged to guard the house should either of you return. Frankly, I believe Remiel knew I was close to you, so he stationed me there to keep me out of the way. Anyway, a white cat came to the door one night. I offered it salmon, which seemed to satisfy it. And then, the next night, there were two cats. A multicolored one with half its tail missing had joined the first. I couldn’t feed one and not its friend, and so she also had some salmon, and… well”—he shrugged a little sheepishly—“there are six now.” Severn had hidden his face beneath his hand, but the soft lift of his shoulders suggested he was laughing.

“Do they have names?” Severn asked, pinching his lips together.
“Oh yes.” Solomon grinned. “One to six.”
“Wait. One, two, and six?” Severn pressed.
“No, one to six. One, Two, Three, Four, Five—”
“Yes, thank you,” Mikhail interrupted before Solomon could hurt himself. “Perhaps stop feeding them salmon and they’ll go away,” Mikhail said.

I definitely recommend this series if you are a fan of Ariana Nash's other series, or if you like M/M romance and angels vs. demons books. This is a very good, fast-paced, and gripping story. It's full of emotions, action, and twists, and the romance is sweet and amazing. It really is a great series!

“Is happiness directly related to the sex?” Solo asked Severn. “I’d like to explore this further—”
“I’m sure you would.” Severn chuckled.

AND YOU WILL! I cannot believe that Solo’s novella is finally happening. I am anxiously waiting for it to be delivered on my Kindle. It’s going to be epicness and perfection.

❝An angel and demon fell in love... And they changed the world forever.❞

overall thoughts (trilogy):
✧ this was my first Ariana Nash book/series and it's safe to say i loved her writing, world building and characters. 😌
✧ as of writing this, i'm still a sobbing mess from the way this trilogy made me feel overall. i loved the concept of angels vs demons, as well as the myth that was told throughout the story about how things are never really what they seem. julia, once again, had warned me to expect plot twists and, although i anticipated them, i was still shocked from the revelations. the amount of times i had to put the book down, i- 😭
✧ SEVERN IS MY IMPOSSIBLE DEMON BABIE. 🥺 i loved him with my whole heart. i loved how, in the beginning, he was a demon hellbent on vengeance but, once he fell in love, he was literally the softest demon i just wanted to hug and protect!! i adored his loyalty and the way he was determined to find a way for angels and demons to co-exist without war after learning the truth about that myth. on the other hand, my other love - the terrible angel, mikhail. i truly loved seeing his growth from this cold, unfeeling angel to someone who feels emotions and would watch the world burn to keep his loved ones safe (which tbh, the list isn't long, if you exclude the angel community lol). although my heart is soft towards severn, i can't think of one without the other bc i see them as true soulmates and the way they're complete opposites yet naturally became a perfect match for each other, gotta love fate. 😌
✧ plot twists!! i'm still not over .
✧ SOLOOO. i loved him!! he was the cutest angel, with his love for his cats. the epilogue? i'm scared bc i don't like the demon he was hinted to have a possible future with but, hey, guess i'll give that demon the benefit of doubt if they ever have a story; however, if he hurts my bb, he's gonna have to go through me first. alongside solo, i also adored djall, ernas and amii and they stood out to me most when it came to the side characters.

was this trilogy binge-worthy? very (i stayed up the whole night 'til around noon just reading this lol).
would i recommend it? yes, 100%. just be aware you may get attached to certain characters bc i know i did. 😩

I...I want to say all the things about this book, this series, I do. But mostly right now I am just

Not that Ariana Nash didn't put me through a meat grinder *may be a little dramatic here* *or not 👿* to get to this point but she also made it so, so worth it. 🥰🥰

Holy hell, can this woman write gut-clenching, wrenching, heart-stopping fantasy. The whole series was truly outstanding.

i read all three books in the 'PRIMAL SIN' series relatively fast *cough* an entire day *cough* and due to that… i experienced a really intense book hangover. thus, this "series review" is coming to you guys in August instead of the originally planned June.

essentially, this is my obviously evasive way of saying… this review review will most likely be trash adjacent. because honestly, I only remember the general gist of all three books.

so… yeah… ~𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺~

❥ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴇʀɪᴇꜱ ᴀꜱ ᴀ ᴡʜᴏʟᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ… ᴇxᴛʀᴇᴍᴇʟʏ ᴀᴅᴅɪᴄᴛɪɴɢ. which… yeah… that's very obvious, especially when you realize i finished this series in almost one night. and that's not an exaggeration. i think what makes the 'PRIMAL SIN' series - and world - so addictive is the characters. author, ARIANA NASH obviously put a lot of time and care into making Severn, Mikhail, and Solo & Co. well rounded and fleshed out individuals.

❥ ᴛʜᴜꜱ, ᴍʏ ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ᴀꜱᴘᴇᴄᴛ ᴏꜰ ɴᴀꜱʜ'ꜱ ꜱᴇʀɪᴇꜱ ᴡᴀꜱ… the immense growth that our heroes, Severn and Mikhail, demonstrated over the course of all three books. in fact, my biggest surprise of this entire series was the way in which i eventually became enthralled with the romance between Severn and Mikhail. it was directly because of the character growth that i came to root for and enjoy SevernMikhail as a couple.

❥ ᴜʟᴛɪᴍᴀᴛᴇʟʏ ɪ ʜɪɢʜʟʏ ʀᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅ ᴛʜɪꜱ ꜱᴇʀɪᴇꜱ ᴛᴏ… basically anyone even remotely interested in M/M romance or anything vaguely magical // supernatural in nature. i really feel that ARIANA NASH expertly expanded upon a very underutilized trope // genre by centering this series around Demons and Angels. moreover, i felt that each book in the 'PRIMAL SIN' series expanded upon and built up the world she initially introduced in book one.

❝I’m uncertain why angels prefer heavy metal armor that inhibits our ability to move.❞
Severn snorted and spun his blade in his hand. ❝With angels, it’s all about the shiny.❞

♥ ꜱᴇᴠᴇʀɴ ᴀᴋᴀ. ᴋᴏɴꜱᴛᴀɴᴛɪɴ … ɪɴ ᴀ ᴡᴏʀᴅ, ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛᴇᴅ ᴀꜱ ꜰᴜᴄᴋ… but first, before i even attempt to talk about my lovable stabby murder demon, we as a collective need to give him a gigantic hug. this man deserves a least one hug a day for the rest of his life, because my goodness, he has been through it.

🤗✨ *𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗦 𝗛𝗨𝗚* 🤗✨

now, with that out of the way, let us talk about Severn aka. Konstantin, Lord of the Red Manor. Severn was, well… my lovable stabby murder demon, and honestly my favorite character of the entire series. book one Severn really encapsulated the above moniker, but over the course of the series he became so much more than that.

Severn as a character was… complicated, incredibly complicated some might say, a bit of an anti-hero, a man with an incredible heart, and despite his hard exterior was kind of a cuddly bunny on the inside. there was just something so sweet and lovable about Severn, despite because of how bloodthirsty he was.

❝But we're enemies,❞ Mikhail whispered. ❝You came to Aerie ten years ago to kill me.❞
Severn threw his hands up and stepped back. ❝Yeah, well, shit happens, and I didn't kill you. I don't pretend to know much of anything anymore. Just that you need to survive.❞

moreover, i was pleasantly surprised by how dedicated and romantic Severn turned out to be. honestly, i was very much not expecting that kind of energy from him. the way he constantly fought for Mikhail was actually really sweet to watch. in fact, it was, in my opinion, Severn's deeply romantic soul that truly anchored the series.

Severn also had this tenacity that stuck with him throughout each book. he was the type of hero who, regardless of the amount of times he was kicked down, would always get back up. thus, Severn was a really compelling mc to follow. and combined with his internal struggle over who he was (angel or demon), Severn ended up being a seriously amazing character.

✦ 𝗦𝗢, 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣… ✦
⇢ ꜱᴇᴠᴇʀɴ ᴡᴀꜱ… a stabby murder demon who deseves all the love, joy, and happiness in the world ♥

ɪ ʜᴏɴᴇꜱᴛʟʏ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ… fight anyone who dared to bring him harm… seriously if i were a character in this universe i would have gladly vanquished all his enemies ☢

ꜱᴏ, ʙᴀꜱɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ ɪ… have so much love for Severn that i knowingly ignore all of his faults and flaws ♥

🅾🅺🅰🆈 ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ᴀᴋᴀ. ꜱᴇᴠᴇʀɴ'ꜱ ʙʀᴏᴏᴅʏ ᴀɴɢᴇʟ… ɪɴ ᴀ ᴡᴏʀᴅ, ꜱᴛᴜʙʙᴏʀɴ ᴀꜱ ʜᴇʟʟ… which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it did make Mikhail's character frustrating as all get out. Mikhail was Mikhail. you either love him and want to protect him at all cost, or you want to rip his wings off and push him over a balcony…

🤷‍♀️ 𝗢𝗥, 𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗕𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗘… 🤷‍♀️

so, yeah… as you may have noticed i have conflicting emotions when it comes to Mikhail. on the one hand, i found Mikhail really intriguing. he's an angel who has no emotions, and yet, against all odds, he has unknowingly fallen in love with his mortal enemy. so cool.

An angel had performed an allyanse on Severn—he’d shared his soul. Not only was it rare, but it shouldn’t have been possible.

and yet… *takes deep breath* there were so many moments where i wanted to backhand this fool. he was just so rigid when it came to the (and his) definition of what it means to be an angel and what his duty actually is. there was a lot of internal conflict within Mikhail. which, again, fine. but, i hated each and every time he messed with Severn or broke his heart. it infuriated me, if i'm being quite honest.

thus, it took me until almost book three to truly warm up to Mikhail. i think that's partially because he willingly caused my baby Severn pain, and because well… he didn't have much of a personality until book three. however, once his personality and character began to clearly grow i ended up finally "getting" why Severn cared so deeply about him.

❝I loved him. Even before the allyanse. I loved a liar with all my heart. That is the true horror of all this.❞

✦ 𝗦𝗢, 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣… ✦
⇢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴀ… hard character to love, at least for me… it honestly took me a couple of books to warm up to him 🤷‍♀️

⇢ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ꜱᴀɪᴅ, ʜɪꜱ ᴊᴏᴜʀɴᴇʏ ᴡᴀꜱ… very compelling and interesting to watch. he really evolved over the course of these three books, which is alway impressive… 👏

⇢ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ʟᴇᴀʀɴ ᴛᴏ ᴇᴍᴏᴛᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ… honestly the most adorable thing ever… that's why end of book two and all of book three Mikhail was decidedly very fun to read about ♥

❝Never could resist ’em. All them feathers wrapping stupidly fragile souls. Fluffy on the outside, glass in the middle. But there ain’t nothin’ more formidable than an angel with a cause. Problems come when that cause gets twisted at the root.❞

✔ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴏᴍᴀɴᴄᴇ ɪɴ 'ᴘʀɪᴍᴀʟ ꜱɪɴ' ᴡᴀꜱ… what truly anchored and propelled this series. in fact, i would go as far to say that the 'PRIMAL SIN' series is MS. NASH'S most romantic series to date. the entire plot, starting in book one, revolves around Mikhail and Severn's unlikely romance. truly, this entire series is all about proving that angels and demons were created to fall in love with one another… or something along those lines.

❝Before, there was nothing… now, every breath is loud with feeling… and I can’t stand it, but I can’t be without it… without you.❞

that said, when a series totally and completely hinges on its romance, said romance better be fan-fucking-tastic.

😬 *𝗖𝗨𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗪𝗞𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘* 😬

okay, look. it's no big secret that i wasn't totally swept-away by the romance… initially. book one had a huge case of the dreaded insta-love. which - ugh. look, nobody likes insta-love and i personally thought the insta-love was even more egregious in book one, because holy-missed opportunity-batman. the enemies-to-lovers potential was high with this series. but, for some reason the transition was very… jarring and out of nowhere.

that said, by book two i completely understood why Mikhail and Severn fell in love. their love was… almost serendipitous, but not without its struggles. Severn became Mikhail's confidant and most trusted ally. slowly over the course of ten years Severn became someone that Mikhail could wholeheartedly trust in. meanwhile, Severn fell in love with Mikhail because, well, he saw something good and real within him.

❝Love is not fed with the eyes,❞ they said softly. ❝It comes from within, and you are the same within now as you’ve always been. A demon with a proud, honorable heart, full of love. Mikhail loves you, not your illusion.❞

the romance in the 'PRIMAL SIN' series was at its best when Mikhail and Severn could just… be. when they were fighting with each other, instead of against one another. while book two may have been my overall favorite, it was book three that really brought home the romance for me.

✦ 𝗦𝗢, 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣… ✦
⇢ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴏᴍᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ ɢᴏᴏᴅ, ʙᴜᴛ… it did have some flaws, namely insta-love… thus, it took me a book and a half to truly become invested in Severn + Mikhail as a couple ❤️‍🩹

⇢ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ꜱᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇ ᴛᴏ… explain the reason behind his love for Severn was honestly kinda adorable to watch… like - watching an emotionless robot realize they have feelings is almost always a good time ☢

⇢ ɪ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴡᴀɴɴᴀ ꜱᴛʀᴇꜱꜱ ᴛʜᴀᴛ… the romance gets better with each book, so if you're not entirely taken with MikhailSevern in book one, fear not... books two and three really bring it all home ♥️

♥ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱɪᴅᴇ ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀꜱ… ᴡᴇʟʟ, ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴅɪʀᴇᴄᴛʟʏ ꜱᴏʟᴏ, ᴡᴇʀᴇ… ꜰʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ ꜰᴀʙᴜʟᴏᴜꜱ… and they, in opinion at least, are what really made this series so special. i've said it before, and i'll say it again, i think a lot of authors underestimate the power of a great side character.

😜 𝗦𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗧 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞, 𝗝𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗔 😜

seriously, i cannot tell you guys how many times i've lost interest in a series because the side character were about compelling as a piece of dry toast. plus, when the side characters are on point it allows the main characters to just… be themselves.

now, when it comes to side characters, i'd say my favorite was Solomon. Solomon or 'Solo' was a very horny angel who was extremely naive, but unintentionally hilarious because of his naiveté.

❝Why did Amii give you the wings if not to use them?❞
❝Like cocks,❞ Solo said.
❝What?❞ Severn snapped.
❝❛Why did Seraphim give angels cocks if he didn’t want you using them,❜ you asked me. I was making a comparison.❞ He winced. ❝Was it a terrible comparison? I admit, I really don’t understand cocks.❞
❝Solo, just…for a second, please stop trying to help.❞

to be totally honest, i'm really hoping that ARIANA NASH decides to write a solo book for Solo. he's was such a fun character, and i'd really love to see what his journey to love looks like. plus, it would be downright hilarious if he was paired with the demon (or demons) i think MS. NASH was hinting at. lmaoo 😂, that would be quite something.

in addition to Solo, there was also Amii. they were introduced in book one and over the course of the series slowly became more and more important. not only do they supply some of the best one liners of the series, but they also end up being really really really important to the plot. i thought it was so great that MS. NASH introduced a seemingly inconsequential side character, only to then turn around and make them extremely important.

❝Why is the crone here?❞ He didn’t sound angry, more carefully curious.
❝Aye!❞ Amii exclaimed. ❝Why am I here, interrupting your❞—she waved a hand—❝testosterone-fueled fuck-fest? Nice shirt, angel. Pineapples. Very you.❞

there are other side characters that… if i'm being honest… are a little fuzzy on my brain. but, rest assured when i was reading the series they also played a big role. but, in my humble opinion, Solo and Amii really stood out as awesome side characters.

✦ 𝗦𝗢, 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣… ✦
⇢ ʟᴇᴛ ᴜꜱ ɢɪᴠᴇ ᴀ ʜᴜɢᴇ ʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴏꜰ ᴀᴘᴘʟᴀᴜꜱᴇ ᴛᴏ… author ARIANA NASH for actually realizing the importance in having great side characters 👏

⇢ ꜱᴏʟᴏ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ʙᴀʟᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ… overly naive and beautifully optimistic. his character had heart, gumption, and served as almost a foil for Mikhail, through him we saw another side of the 'angel' archetype 👼

⇢ ɪ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ ʜᴏᴡ ᴀᴍɪɪ'ꜱ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴡᴀꜱ… low-key unfolding throughout all of the books. the eventual reveal of their identity was surprising, powerful, and more than a little heartbreaking 💔

✔ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʟᴏᴛ ꜰᴏʀ ᴀʟʟ ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ʙᴏᴏᴋꜱ ᴡᴀꜱ… ᴀᴄᴛᴜᴀʟʟʏ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ɢᴏᴏᴅ… thus, my inability to really remember the full scope of the plot should not reflect its quality. what i mean is… i remember the plot, but i don't fully remember the intricacies of the plot.

🐠 𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝗜 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪… 𝗜 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗗𝗙𝗜𝗦𝗛 🐠

that being said, what i do remember about the plot i really like. the whole twist on the allyanse was spectacular and i one hundred percent did not see that coming. i really loved how the plot hinged on the romance, and despite there being a ton of war and violence in this series, at its core was romance and love.

The allyanse was an excuse. Love was just love, all at once simple and complicated.

“A demon kissed his angel in a starlit field and all the lies crumbled to dust”.

I feel as though I have been hanging out for the finale to this trilogy for a lonnnng time, but oh my, it was worth the wait! #inhaleditasalways Infernal Sin by Ariana Nash completes the Primal Sin series that started in Primal Sin and continued in Eternal Sin. NB. if you haven't read the previous two installments, stop reading this now and get them both into your library, quick sharp! 😁

Infernal Sin continues the story of former Guardian Angel Mikhail and his love, the demon-turned-angel-turned-demon Severn (aka Konstantin, Lord of the Red Manor) as they continue the battle to unite angels and demons, and to right the wrongs and the lies of the ancient past. With the demons believing Severn to be a traitor to demonkind, the angels being misled and deceived by Guardian Angel Ramiel and Mikhail under the thrall of the powerful concubi demon Luxen, what hope do they have? What parts do Samiel and Solo still have to play in the fight for truth? And is everlasting love at the root of the shape-shifting cambion Amii's persistent interfering....?

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK!

The best of the three IMHO 🖤.

Mikhail and Severn are still 🔥🔥🔥, with the relationship moving to a different level as Severn is now back in his demon body 😈. The supporting characters are wonderful, and Solo and his cats gave me several 'laugh out loud' moments😍. Infernal Sin wrapped up all the loose ends nicely and brought our boys' story to the HEA conclusion they both deserved. In typical Ariana Nash style though, there's one little thread just left there for us to drool over...and hope for...💕.

Highly recommended.

All the stars ✨✨✨✨✨.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Might Contain Spoilers*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

I actually quite enjoyed this last book in the series. I hope this isn't the last we see of Mikhail and Severn but I'm glad we at least got three books for them. Their love was truly the main point here and it was beautiful. I do believe this series will be a re-read series for me. What I didn't like so much was the ending. It was so... anti-climatic. I had expected so much more. Oh and I see many people loving Luxen, but I kinda really disliked him. Solomon was great though. I'm too tired - I should've been in bed hours ago - to write a long review so I'll just leave it here. I like the book, I loved the love that was showed but I do wish we had gotten more, especially from the ending. And to certain demons should've gotten a punishment.... That said, are Severn and Mikhail soulmates? Or just two men being in love?

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Dark Fantasy Romance (M/M).
Series: - Series, Book Three.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
Triggers? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Mikhail.
Would I read more by this author/or in this series? - Yes, I believes so.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably.
Rating - 3.5 (weak) stars.

AAAHHH! What a perfect (and perfectly dramatic!) ending this was! Everything I wanted since book one, wrapped up with a pretty bow, after a long and angsty journey. So good! 😭 Severn and Mikhail make me go all

I will miss those two so much!

4,5 'love conquers all' stars

Love makes us stronger but also gives us fear.

This series was great! It wasn’t perfect but I liked it very much. The plot might have been lacking from time to time (kind of underwhelming last battle) but Severn and Mikhail have my unconditional love!

"You are not the guardian who killed my kin, and I am not the demon who lied to you for ten years. I look at you now, Mikhail, and I see an angel who desperately cares. I hope you look at me and you see… I don’t know… maybe a demon who gets it wrong more than he gets it right, but who loves you with all his heart?”

************************************
“I will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.” Severn’s face lit up. “For a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.”
“I’m learning…” He chuckled.

I just want to squishy hug them because they are everything 💕💕 Also, they were seriously hot together 🔥🔥

Mikhail’s arm looped around Severn’s neck and yanked. His tongue thrust between Severn’s lips in a sudden, savage intrusion, his passion a force neither of them could control. He tore free, gasping, and his angel eyes weren’t so soft now. “Fill me.”
Severn’s rattling heart might explode if he kept up those demands. “Hm…” he purred. “In good time, Your Grace.”
“Now.”
This Mikhail was the cruel one, the Mikhail who commanded flights and waged wars. And Severn was gonna fuck him so damn hard he’d be feeling demon cock for weeks.
“Are you sure?” Severn rumbled. He wrapped his fingers around Mikhail’s cock again, sweeping up its eager wetness, using it to make his grip glide. That part of Mikhail was very sure.
“Ask me again”—Mikhail’s hips jerked—“and you’ll no longer find me submissive.”

And, of course, Solo is perfect 😍❤️

“I’m sure Solo doesn’t want to know about our sex life right now.”
A grin brightened Solo’s face. “Actually, I’d like to know about the sex—”
“Maybe later.” Severn wrapped an arm around Solo’s shoulders and steered him away. “Go be a general—”
“Is happiness directly related to the sex?” Solo asked Severn. “I’d like to explore this further—”
“I’m sure you would.” Severn chuckled. “And once we’ve dealt with Remiel, I’ll take you to the madam for a thorough exploration of the sex.”
“You will?” The red-haired angel beamed.

Love fucking wins! Brilliant series. Now to go on to Solo's story. I've been looking forward to digging into that one. Woot!

----------Orig Review 27 May 2021-----------
It's been a while since I've read 2 full length novels in one day. In one sitting. My butt is numb. Is that TMI? Oops. I fucking loved this series! Love wins.

"See that star there? The brightest one? Brighter than all the rest?"
He saw a whole lot of stars, but there was one to the north that shone steady and true.
"I see it."
"Seraphim told me if yah fly hard enough an' high enough, you can reach that twinkly spec."
Severn was fairly certain that was impossible. A few miles up and the air became too thin to breathe. But who was he to argue with Seraphim?
"Yeah?" He side eyed Aerius.
The Rayvern King smirked, and there was a whole lot of feeling in that one smile.
"You got this, Severn, High Lord of Red Manor. No longer lost."
An unexpected lump of emotion lodged in his throat. He tried to swallow it, but the damn thing didn't budge.

Deceit, betrayal, lies, and the pursuit of truth and justice, Infernal Sin by Ariana Nash has it all. It also has some magnificently swoon worthy moments that would melt even the most hardest of hearts, along with passionate scenes so scorching hot I'm surprised my kindle survived the experience.

Severn hands down will always be my favourite character from the series. Who can resist a demon with enough love to bring an angel to his knees? Supremely confident in his demoness (demonity?) but with a vulnerability that made me weak at the knees. I just want to wrap my Severn up in cotton wool and protect him from the big, bad, nasty world. Mikhail I really liked, all that firm angel butt and black feathers to boot, but I would happily get on my knees and worship Severn in any way he saw fit, for the rest of my life.

There was a point, fairly early on, where I thought the two main protagonists would spend a chunk of this book apart. And that was a most unwelcome prospect. Thankfully I was quickly proved wrong and instead got to spend time wallowing in the smexiness that is Mikahil and Severn. Please don't think that the book just consisted of angel-demon hotness. It's just a wonderful side dish to a spellbinding, twisty and thoroughly captivating story that had me on the edge of my seat.

Finally I have to mention Solo, who definitely requires his own book of angel delightfulness. It will also give Luxen, and maybe even Samiel, a shot at redemption. Because the only thing better than an MM Angel-Demon fest is an MMM one! I also need to know what happens to One, Two, Three, Four, Five and Six.

3.8 stars ⭐️ I liked this one which was the last book of this series, and the ending was okay. But I had expected more! Everything felt too easy at the ending. I loved the way this book turned out to be more romantic than I expected.

“Angels and demons had not been made to war. They were made to love. Mikhail and Severn had set that truth free.”

Mikhail and Severn’s love felt too precious and beautiful. I really liked both characters. They have been going through a lot, and the peace felt like the most difficult thing to achieve. But with the determination and the hope of their love, finally, they won a battle which everyone thought they never could.

“Severn used two fingers to tip Mikhail’s face up, checking it was Mikhail behind those beautiful blue eyes.
Mikhail’s tentative smile spoke of the fragility only Severn could see. Joy lifted Severn’s heart. He loved his angel with everything he had in him”

I swear I couldn't love these two more than I do right now. They are so right together!

“I will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.”
Severn’s face lit up. “For a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.”

This is the second trilogy by Ariana Nash that ended in less than two months. I was already missing Niko and Vasili from King of the Dark but now I’ve got to add Mikhail and Severn to that list.
Dramatic much? Maybe. But when you find a series that makes you want to read non-stop, it’s hard to say goodbye to the characters.

description

I love when authors know when the angst was enough. Don’t get me wrong I'm all on board for angsty stories but there’s a limit. And here, for me, was really well done. There are still issues and remorse between Mikhail and Severn but it wasn't over the top. In this book they’re on another level in their relationship and all the drama is coming from the outside.
Mikhail’s new facet was the one that stood out the most. His journey to unravel his feelings and leave his prejudices behind made him a better angel. One that , just like Severn, surprised me with his witty remarks.

description

I’ve always had a weak spot for secondary characters and Solomon wasn’t going to be the exception. Every single time he appeared in the previous books was marvelous but in this one in particular he shone. I’m not exaggerating when I say that he made me laugh in every dialogue.
I’m craving for him to have his own book. It’s no secret that I’m shipping him with someone since Eternal Sin and hoping that that ship ends up being canon.

description

P.S. I cannot write about THAT epilogue without spoilers. All I’m going to say is that I already read it twice and I’m sure that it won’t be the last time I’d do it.

I waffled back and forth between giving this a 3 or a 3.5 or a 4 star, and in the end it's 3.5 rounded down.

The good:

* Severin. He reminds me in this book of my fave green dragon from Silk & Steel, Lysander. But conversely, I felt like his character changed with his demon body. Like just bc he got muscles and horns, he shifted into someone else. I wasn't happy with that.

* The HEA. Tho I really wanted Serephim to make an appearance and physically be reunited (where we readers can all see!) with Aerius.

The not so good:

* I feel like Mikhail also changed character. He was this stoic, innocent to sex manly man sort of (manlier than Severin) and suddenly he became this smaller (literally) more "feminine" character. Full of doubt and submissive. Yes, he liked to take it in the A before too, but it was different. Their dynamic was diff. I felt like the character dev was inconsistent and they became two diff people in the end.

* I wasn't riveted by the intrigue. Skipped a bunch to get to the sexy stuff, which wasn't bad. Maybe even a little more than some of this author's other books, and thank goodness no one got raped or cheated for a change!!

So in the end, I guess I'd give this series an overall four ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️stars. It's not this author's best for sure.

Welp...I'm kicking myself over not reading this series sooner.

Suffice to say that I loved it, I loved Mikhail and Severn, I loved the plot, I loved the ending and everything in between.

I will leave you with a few of my favorite quotes:

“I need to feel you. I cannot… I can’t be alone, Severn. I feel everything, and alone, it eats at me, but with you… with you, I breathe again.”

"Look, I’m trying to be reasonable here. My angel boyfriend is gonna be real pissed if I kick your asses. He’s kind of a big deal."

“Do you think the angels would mind if I sucked you off right here on this lovely lawn, Your Grace?” he whispered. “A demonstration of what their cocks are really for?”

"I may look like a hard-ass who chews up angels for lunch, but that’s just the demon in me. In here”—he squeezed Mikhail’s hand over his heart—“I’m all glass. Please, don’t break me.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.5 stars

Infernal Sin was a highly anticipated read for me as Severn and Mikhail are two of my favorite Ariana Nash characters. The previous book, Eternal Sin, ended in a precarious place and I was completely invested in seeing this story play out. A true enemies-to-lovers pairing, Mikhail and Severn have unimaginable obstacles in their quest to belong to each other.

Angels and demons have been at war for a long, long time and have been conditioned and manipulated by those afraid of love. Everyone thinks that Mikhail and Severn, an angel and a demon, are traitors for loving each other, but that was they way it was always supposed to be, though not everyone wants to believe this.

This is the final instalment of the Primal Sin series by Ariana Nash and picks up seconds after the ending in Eternal Sin. As always with Ariana, the story is well written, the characters well developed, the action fast paced and the smexy times are super hot!

While I love Severn and Mikhail, after this story Solomon has emerged as my favourite character! And his cats! I love so him very much and I am interested to see if any further stories are coming after reading the epilogue...hint, hint Ariana...

Obviously I enjoyed this story given the 4 star rating but I have to shamefully admit that I found the epic last battle a little anti-climatic. I completely get why it needed to end the way that it did, but I don't know, I feel like it was missing something.

Oh and I totally called it back in book 1 who Amii actually was!!

I received an ARC and because I have picked up a totally awesome secondment at work, I am leaving an honest review.

...and that’s a wrap to a fantastic trilogy!

From the first book to the second and now the finale, the story held me captive. Ariana Nash has done it again. Mikhail and Severn’s love prevails once again against all odds.

I devoured, yes that’s right, I read the whole book in one sitting. Who needs food anyways. You know the feeling you get when you finish a book and feel lost, yes that is how I am feeling right now....adrift. I can’t believe their story is over. I know these characters and am so lucky to have come across this amazing author.

I encourage you to pick up the trilogy and give it a try. You won’t regret it.

Mikhail and Severn (Konstantin, Lord of the Red Manor) continue to navigate their way through their love story. I love Mikhail's naiveté and his general cluelessness in his love for Severn is adorable. And Severn's fierce commitment to Mikhail is admirable and unforgettable. No matter how many times Mikhail puts himself in the line of fire (because it's the right thing to do), Severn is there to pick him up and dust him off. They fight for love for all angels and demons, while up against insurmountable odds. It's hard to not fall in love with these characters and their fight to love who they want to love, be they angel or demon. Ariana Nash has a unique ability to build worlds with her books that put the reader in every scene, living it right along with her characters. I loved every minute I put into reading this book.

This series was so fucking fun.

It was not perfect, but the absolute enjoyment I had from it is worth 5 stars without a doubt.

This final book was JAM PACKED with action and I couldn’t put it down. I stayed up until 3am to finish it.

I love Mikhail and Severn and everything they went through for their love. I just can’t say no to a love that will burn the world down for each other. Mmm!!!

My minor complaints for this book don’t come in until the end. I would’ve really appreciated one more intimate scene between the two, after the battle. Didn’t even have to be sex, just the two of them together. The epilogue, while extremely entertaining as Solo is such a perfect secondary character, should’ve been this intimate scene I wanted between Mikhail and Severn. I would’ve loved the Solomon scene as a bonus chapter.

I hope we see more from this world, though! Maybe a continuation of that scene with Solo ;)

He could not fall, to fall was to surrender.

To keep fighting when there is little hope. To go forward when there is no path. To stay true when it is easier to hide. To trust when almost everyone is fucking with you. To be able to laugh when there is only darkness ahead.

“We’re commanding a flight of angry, horny angels. I don’t know if they’ll fuck Remiel or kill him.”

“I should listen to you more often.” “Fucking Haven, we really are about to die if you’re suddenly humbled.”

Anyway, if I say more, I could spoil something. Let me say, I'm really glad I get to spend more time in this world with the firey angel🥰

And Solo wasn’t confused. He was just… thinking things through.
