A demon kissed his angel in a starlit field and all the lies crumbled to dust.
“An angel and a demon fell in love…” Severn mumbled, his thoughts fucked and dreamy. But now he’d spoken, he wasn’t sure how that sentence ended. How could it end? He didn’t want to think on it, fearing the ending was not the one they wanted. But he needn’t have feared because Mikhail finished it for him, “And they changed the world forever.”
Severn knew the look on Mikhail’s face. He was about to raze the place to the ground, with everyone in it.
Sulking seemed like a perfectly good way to handle the clusterfuck that had become his life.
After everything they’d been through, every battle they’d fought, every enemy who had tried to tear them apart, they were here, together, and that meant everything.
“Truth is our blade, justice our shield,” Mikhail said. “We do not need force.”
Mikhail threw back the sheet and rose to his feet, illusioning his wings away to prevent them from scraping the ceiling. Solo spun on his heel and stared at the door. “God.”
“Solomon, are you well?”
“Fine.” His voice cracked, and he cleared his throat. “It’s just, I recently had something of an awakening, and your appearance is quite stimulating. In multiple ways.”
His appearance was alarming? Mikhail looked down at his torso, waist, and legs. Nothing about him had changed. Severn was the one who’d undergone a dramatic physical change. Severn smirked, enjoying himself far too much. Oh… wait. Ah, yes. Mikhail was naked and semihard.
“He means you’re hot and he’s horny,” Severn translated with a wolfish grin.
“Why did Amii give you the wings if not to use them?”
“Like cocks,” Solo said.
“What?” Severn snapped.
“‘Why did Seraphim give angels cocks if he didn’t want you using them,’ you asked me. I was making a comparison.” He winced. “Was it a terrible comparison? I admit, I really don’t understand cocks.”
“Solo, just…for a second, please stop trying to help.”
“I…” Solomon swallowed. “I have to go back.”
“Why?”
“I have a cat.”
“A what?”
“Well, more than one, actually. I’m not entirely sure how it happened. I took pity on the creature after I was charged to guard the house should either of you return. Frankly, I believe Remiel knew I was close to you, so he stationed me there to keep me out of the way. Anyway, a white cat came to the door one night. I offered it salmon, which seemed to satisfy it. And then, the next night, there were two cats. A multicolored one with half its tail missing had joined the first. I couldn’t feed one and not its friend, and so she also had some salmon, and… well”—he shrugged a little sheepishly—“there are six now.” Severn had hidden his face beneath his hand, but the soft lift of his shoulders suggested he was laughing.
“Do they have names?” Severn asked, pinching his lips together.
“Oh yes.” Solomon grinned. “One to six.”
“Wait. One, two, and six?” Severn pressed.
“No, one to six. One, Two, Three, Four, Five—”
“Yes, thank you,” Mikhail interrupted before Solomon could hurt himself. “Perhaps stop feeding them salmon and they’ll go away,” Mikhail said.
“Is happiness directly related to the sex?” Solo asked Severn. “I’d like to explore this further—”
“I’m sure you would.” Severn chuckled.

❝An angel and a demon fell in love …❞
❝And they changed the world forever.❞
☢ 𝗔 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗙 𝗣𝗦𝗔 ☢
i read all three books in the 'PRIMAL SIN' series relatively fast *cough* an entire day *cough* and due to that… i experienced a really intense book hangover. thus, this "series review" is coming to you guys in August instead of the originally planned June.
essentially, this is my obviously evasive way of saying… this review review will most likely be trash adjacent. because honestly, I only remember the general gist of all three books.
so… yeah… ~𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺~
❝I’m uncertain why angels prefer heavy metal armor that inhibits our ability to move.❞
Severn snorted and spun his blade in his hand. ❝With angels, it’s all about the shiny.❞
❝But we're enemies,❞ Mikhail whispered. ❝You came to Aerie ten years ago to kill me.❞
Severn threw his hands up and stepped back. ❝Yeah, well, shit happens, and I didn't kill you. I don't pretend to know much of anything anymore. Just that you need to survive.❞
⇢ ꜱᴇᴠᴇʀɴ ᴡᴀꜱ… a stabby murder demon who deseves all the love, joy, and happiness in the world ♥
⇢ ɪ ʜᴏɴᴇꜱᴛʟʏ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ… fight anyone who dared to bring him harm… seriously if i were a character in this universe i would have gladly vanquished all his enemies ☢
⇢ ꜱᴏ, ʙᴀꜱɪᴄᴀʟʟʏ ɪ… have so much love for Severn that i knowingly ignore all of his faults and flaws ♥
An angel had performed an allyanse on Severn—he’d shared his soul. Not only was it rare, but it shouldn’t have been possible.
❝I loved him. Even before the allyanse. I loved a liar with all my heart. That is the true horror of all this.❞
⇢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴀ… hard character to love, at least for me… it honestly took me a couple of books to warm up to him 🤷♀️
⇢ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ꜱᴀɪᴅ, ʜɪꜱ ᴊᴏᴜʀɴᴇʏ ᴡᴀꜱ… very compelling and interesting to watch. he really evolved over the course of these three books, which is alway impressive… 👏
⇢ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ʟᴇᴀʀɴ ᴛᴏ ᴇᴍᴏᴛᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ… honestly the most adorable thing ever… that's why end of book two and all of book three Mikhail was decidedly very fun to read about ♥
❝Never could resist ’em. All them feathers wrapping stupidly fragile souls. Fluffy on the outside, glass in the middle. But there ain’t nothin’ more formidable than an angel with a cause. Problems come when that cause gets twisted at the root.❞
❝Before, there was nothing… now, every breath is loud with feeling… and I can’t stand it, but I can’t be without it… without you.❞
❝Love is not fed with the eyes,❞ they said softly. ❝It comes from within, and you are the same within now as you’ve always been. A demon with a proud, honorable heart, full of love. Mikhail loves you, not your illusion.❞
⇢ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴏᴍᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴡᴀꜱ ɢᴏᴏᴅ, ʙᴜᴛ… it did have some flaws, namely insta-love… thus, it took me a book and a half to truly become invested in Severn + Mikhail as a couple ❤️🩹
⇢ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ᴍɪᴋʜᴀɪʟ ꜱᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇ ᴛᴏ… explain the reason behind his love for Severn was honestly kinda adorable to watch… like - watching an emotionless robot realize they have feelings is almost always a good time ☢
⇢ ɪ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴡᴀɴɴᴀ ꜱᴛʀᴇꜱꜱ ᴛʜᴀᴛ… the romance gets better with each book, so if you're not entirely taken with MikhailSevern in book one, fear not... books two and three really bring it all home ♥️
❝Why did Amii give you the wings if not to use them?❞
❝Like cocks,❞ Solo said.
❝What?❞ Severn snapped.
❝❛Why did Seraphim give angels cocks if he didn’t want you using them,❜ you asked me. I was making a comparison.❞ He winced. ❝Was it a terrible comparison? I admit, I really don’t understand cocks.❞
❝Solo, just…for a second, please stop trying to help.❞
❝Why is the crone here?❞ He didn’t sound angry, more carefully curious.
❝Aye!❞ Amii exclaimed. ❝Why am I here, interrupting your❞—she waved a hand—❝testosterone-fueled fuck-fest? Nice shirt, angel. Pineapples. Very you.❞
⇢ ʟᴇᴛ ᴜꜱ ɢɪᴠᴇ ᴀ ʜᴜɢᴇ ʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴏꜰ ᴀᴘᴘʟᴀᴜꜱᴇ ᴛᴏ… author ARIANA NASH for actually realizing the importance in having great side characters 👏
⇢ ꜱᴏʟᴏ ᴡᴀꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ʙᴀʟᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏꜰ… overly naive and beautifully optimistic. his character had heart, gumption, and served as almost a foil for Mikhail, through him we saw another side of the 'angel' archetype 👼
⇢ ɪ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ ʜᴏᴡ ᴀᴍɪɪ'ꜱ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ ᴡᴀꜱ… low-key unfolding throughout all of the books. the eventual reveal of their identity was surprising, powerful, and more than a little heartbreaking 💔
The allyanse was an excuse. Love was just love, all at once simple and complicated.
⇢ ᴅᴇꜱᴘɪᴛᴇ ɴᴏᴛ ʀᴇᴍᴇᴍʙᴇʀɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴅᴇᴛᴀɪʟꜱ… i still really enjoyed the overall plot of this series… yay ♥
⇢ ᴀʀɪᴀɴᴀ ɴᴀꜱʜ ɪꜱ ꜱᴛɪʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ Qᴜᴇᴇɴ ᴏꜰ… balancing plot and romance. i've said it once, and i'll say it again, each book i've read by NASH has artfully balanced plot and romance, and even better, made both equally compelling 👑
⇢ ᴜʟᴛɪᴍᴀᴛᴇʟʏ, ɪ ᴀᴍ ꜱᴜᴄʜ ᴀ ꜱᴜᴄᴋᴇʀ ꜰᴏʀ… any plot whose main drive and inciting indecent is a romance ♥
❝I will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.❞
Severn’s face lit up. ❝For a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.❞
❝I love him, Solo. I love him like❞—he wet his lips, unsure how to express love in a way an angel would understand—❝like he’s a part of me, like he’s my wings. And I have to save him again.❞

"You are not the guardian who killed my kin, and I am not the demon who lied to you for ten years. I look at you now, Mikhail, and I see an angel who desperately cares. I hope you look at me and you see… I don’t know… maybe a demon who gets it wrong more than he gets it right, but who loves you with all his heart?”
“I will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.” Severn’s face lit up. “For a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.”
“I’m learning…” He chuckled.
Mikhail’s arm looped around Severn’s neck and yanked. His tongue thrust between Severn’s lips in a sudden, savage intrusion, his passion a force neither of them could control. He tore free, gasping, and his angel eyes weren’t so soft now. “Fill me.”
Severn’s rattling heart might explode if he kept up those demands. “Hm…” he purred. “In good time, Your Grace.”
“Now.”
This Mikhail was the cruel one, the Mikhail who commanded flights and waged wars. And Severn was gonna fuck him so damn hard he’d be feeling demon cock for weeks.
“Are you sure?” Severn rumbled. He wrapped his fingers around Mikhail’s cock again, sweeping up its eager wetness, using it to make his grip glide. That part of Mikhail was very sure.
“Ask me again”—Mikhail’s hips jerked—“and you’ll no longer find me submissive.”

“I’m sure Solo doesn’t want to know about our sex life right now.”
A grin brightened Solo’s face. “Actually, I’d like to know about the sex—”
“Maybe later.” Severn wrapped an arm around Solo’s shoulders and steered him away. “Go be a general—”
“Is happiness directly related to the sex?” Solo asked Severn. “I’d like to explore this further—”
“I’m sure you would.” Severn chuckled. “And once we’ve dealt with Remiel, I’ll take you to the madam for a thorough exploration of the sex.”
“You will?” The red-haired angel beamed.
"“I need to feel you. I cannot… I can’t be alone, Severn. I feel everything, and alone, it eats at me, but with you… with you, I breathe again.”
"See that star there? The brightest one? Brighter than all the rest?"
He saw a whole lot of stars, but there was one to the north that shone steady and true.
"I see it."
"Seraphim told me if yah fly hard enough an' high enough, you can reach that twinkly spec."
Severn was fairly certain that was impossible. A few miles up and the air became too thin to breathe. But who was he to argue with Seraphim?
"Yeah?" He side eyed Aerius.
The Rayvern King smirked, and there was a whole lot of feeling in that one smile.
"You got this, Severn, High Lord of Red Manor. No longer lost."
An unexpected lump of emotion lodged in his throat. He tried to swallow it, but the damn thing didn't budge.
“I will always catch you, Severn, should you fall.”
Severn’s face lit up. “For a heartless guardian, you turned out to be quite the romantic.”
