How could any teacher look forward to a mandatory meeting during their Summer Break?
Kaitlyn Collins has enough stress in her life without being forced to go to an Educator’s Conference during her Summer Break, but she doesn’t have a lot of choice in the matter. She’s been struggling to figure out where her life is going, so she thinks maybe a weekend away may not be such a bad thing. A chance encounter and a warped sense of humor will shake her life up in ways she never saw coming.
Taylor Ables thinks attending an Educator’s Conference is a giant waste of time and money. She’s happy with her life even though she’s sworn off love after having her heart broken a few years ago. Will this year’s meeting force her to step outside of her comfort zone and learn that sometimes it’s worth taking a chance for the possibility of love?
Just how far will a person go to change their life?
This whole experience is pretty surreal. One year ago, I never entertained the idea that I'd be completing the biography page on my Goodreads author's dashboard. Just more proof that life throw us glorious curveballs sometimes.
I've always written stories for my own entertainment and never considered they may be something that others would like to read. When I finally consented to share them with my wife and a few friends, they encouraged me to do something with them, and not just leave them sitting on my computer. So, at the urging of a few people in my most trusted circle, I finally decided to step outside of my comfort zone and share them with you guys. I hope that you enjoy them!
As for who I am, that one is easy. I'm a wife, a stepmom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a worker, an avid reader, and an animal lover. My favorite things in the world are to laugh until I hurt, to spend time with the people that I love, and to get lost in a story. I'm fortunate in that I get to do all of those things very often.
Meh read! 70% of the storyline centered on 'Kaitlyn did this then Taylor did that, then Taylor was going to do that but Kaitlyn did it and on and on --- really frustrating. Is there chemistry? Just a smidgen -- very disappointing storytelling.
This was a cute read. It's an instalove book with a few quirks and everything pretty much perfect. The pace is quick, what I mean by that is UHaul has nothing on them. Anyway, I liked it. It made me smile. And was a change from the craziness happening in the world today. Plus kU!!!
"A Time of Perfect Change" is a truly remarkable story filled with depth and emotion, complemented by moments of humor. The unexpected encounter between Kaitlyn and Taylor sets off a chain reaction, leading to unforeseen transformations. The narrative unfolds organically, as the author invites readers into the minds of not only the main characters but also the vital supporting cast. This inclusion breathes new life into the storyline. The mix of highs and lows, unexpected twists, passionate intimate scenes, humor, and love made it challenging for me to put the book down due to real-life obligations.
Lori Prince’s narration is brimming with heart and emotion, ensuring that I was captivated by every word. Despite the relatively large cast of characters, she skillfully crafted and maintained distinct voices for each one, making it an outstanding listening experience. Her ability to convey the nuances of the story through varied tones and expressions truly enhances the overall impact of the narrative.
This is a storyline that will stick with me for a long time and I look forward to listening to book two!!
Kaitlyn Collins and Taylor Ables meet at an Educator’s Conference and do the bunk on the conference to play hooky instead. They find each other very exciting and interesting. Kaitlyn takes Taylor to her grandparents’ and while leaving from there, Taylor realises that Kaitlyn is married. While Taylor takes a step back from her mad attraction to Kaitlyn, the latter forges ahead and they get physically intimate. Taylor learns that Kaitlyn’s husband, Michael, is paraplegic and that their marriage was already on the downslide when an accident made him wheelchair bound. The two start their relationship amidst a host of hurdles.
I was looking forward to read this book for a long time but somehow always another book came in between. After a friend of mine mentioned so many times I need to read this I finally did. Lol And I’m so glad I finally did. And well wow I didn’t get disappointed. I definitely didn’t expect the start of this book. But it was a wonderful surprise. What followed then was everything I love in a great book. I was sucked into it with all its emotions. First my heart went out to Taylor so many times. I wanted to hug her and never let go. And then the same happened to me with Kaitlyn. All those feelings and this chemistry wow. I laughed and cried so many times and just fell head over heals in love with the whole book. I think I forgot to mention that it was also hot. And in the end Leslye Marks got me to love every single character of the book. Even those I wouldn’t have thought I ever could. The narration of Lori Prince was fantastic as well like always. I‘m going to start with book two right away because the first left me hanging. ☺️
Of course, my rating is going to be more than a little biased because I'm the author. :)
(Thank you for reading my book. I'd love it if you had time to leave a rating. If you'd like to send me direct feedback, please feel free. Leslyemarksauthor@gmail.com)
This book has all of the right ingredients. It'll make you laugh out loud with some the main characters ' antics. Let's not forget the neighbor with her quick wit and crazy comments. I was able to connect with both Taylor as Kaitlyn's immediately. The connection these two share will pull you in from beginning. They have quite a bit of hurdles standing in between them and their happily ever after and they took me through a few emotions during this journey. I could relate to how they both reacted to controversy and could appreciate how they resolved it. It's an awesome book and definitely recommend.
Love is a strange thing. Sometimes we find it when we don’t expect it. Relationships are often hard but they are worth working for. This relationship was hard and it took a lot of work. It was a good story by the author
Sometimes people do all the wrong things for the right reasons. This is true vice versa as well. This book is littered with them and all those awkward weird choices are about as true to life as one could imagine!! It’s a great story and as much as I love a f/f romance, I can’t wait to see what happens with Michael! Kudos!
I just stumbled across this one and I have got to sayyyyy This was more freaked out than I thought it would be (luv) And the story was cute too!!! Insta love af but i mean im just like that too so idc
I really liked this story! Both Taylor and Kaitlyn were wonderful women.. warm, kind and loving. It was nice to have a happily ever after for them both!
A Time of Perfect Change is a sexy story with lots of love
I liked all of the characters, especially Taylor and Kaitlyn. I found the sex scenes between the main characters to be realistic. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading lesbian love stories.
I don't know exactly where I read it . But some where in story you refer to Kaitlyn doing something , while Taylor is sitting at the restaurant table with Ellie . I just found that error blatantly obvious . Other than that and a few other editing errors . The story is nearly spectacular !

Excellent read, the characters grow as we read through the story. Sensitive issues are handled with care and you can feel the passion behind the author's words. Look forward to reading more in the series.
I really liked the characters and the story line. I was impressed with the use of the awkward situations and conversations as they are real. The stars that are missing are due to the typos in the book. There were several times that the wrong name was used in a situation and other words where left out of sentences or other word added where they didn't work. I don't claim to be god at grammar, but I do ask that things I can catch be caught by publishing before distribution.
I want to rate this lower, but I didn't make it past chapter 2. I know that with the writing issues in chapter 1 I wouldn't rate it higher than 3, so I'll go with that.
I'm generally skeptical of romance series. If you've reached HEA, what more is there to say? Sometimes in exceptional cases (EJ Noyes's "Ask, Tell" which deserved a sequel, and introduced a side character who deserved her own novel - and even there I'm unwilling to try the alternate-perspective fourth novel) a multi-book series can work, but generally I find sequels disappointing. So I was already predisposed not to want to get involved with this book.
But chapter 1 drained any interest from me. * The first few paragraphs mapped out much of the remaining book. Taylor was lonely, then yay! she found Kaitlin! And had exciting, toe-curling sex! (That's not a spoiler if it happens in the first chapter, right?) How can you possible find romantic tension when it's already been revealed? * The first chapter had zero consistency in point of view. We were in a different head every few sentences. Taylor did this and felt that, and Kaitlin felt thus about Taylor... not every romance writer cares much about point of view, but this amount of flopping was confusing and made the sex scene hard to follow.
In chapter 2 they were not yet together, but having seen the future I didn't care for the journey that had already been spoiled by the author.
I was listening to the audiobook, and it was especially disappointing to set aside a narration by Lori Prince. I don't think I've heard anything of hers before that I haven't loved. This book must be the exception that proves the rule.
I loved this book. Taylor and Kaitlyn’s love story was written with so much heart, truth and love. The moment they met you can feel through the writers words the connection that they had. Taylor being gay but had written love off because she was hurt deeply was surprised at what she was feeling and Kaitlyn being straight and married and also not sure of what she was feeling, showed the confusion between the two. But they continued getting to know one another and the lust and need to be together outweighed all the obvious red flags. Realizing you have to touch and be with this person is a connection so few get to fully feel. This is the relationship we all want to have. Where you know it’s love from the very beginning. The supporting cast adds the extra level of shock, anger and ultimately truth to the story. This is a great first book and can’t wait for the continuation. Outstanding job Leslye Marks.
I audiobooked this one to listen to while doing yard work. I turned it on and immediately stopped working to stand there with my rake staring off into the distance because I’ve never been hit with a spicy scene so quickly. Then as I got back to work, I once again, stopped because I was laughing too much at the second chapter.
This was an entertaining book with nicely timed comedy that only sometimes felt forced. It had a strong start but then kind of fell flat after that. But again, as a whole, it’s pretty entertaining.
I absolutely loathe when the whole “I love you” thing happens too quickly, which this did. Honestly, the speed in which these people uttered those words makes uhualing look slow.
Thoughts/reactions I had while reading:
1. Oh shit, we’re really just diving into this. No warning. Just spice. 2. I, too, find it uncontrollably hilarious when people trip 3. 🙄 I hate exes 4. 😮💨😏
This is my second book by this author and it was a good story. I gave it four stars simply because the editing was terrible. Kaithlyn was mentioned when it should have said Taylor in many occasions and I don't think the sun rises on the ocean in the West Coast where this story supposedly happens. Other than that, it is another feel good story, with enough angst and drama, to keep you interested.
I am currently reading the second Taylor and Kaitlyn book and I see that editing is been done and the story moves along well. Some characters are added to the story and again, it is a feel good story which is so needed right now.
I cannot say enough about how I loved this book and the second one in the series. It was a unique ‘meet cute’ and had extremely complex relationship hurdles. The main characters and secondary characters were beautifully interwoven. I cannot this is LMs first book. She is an incredible talent. I highly recommend this book - it will make you feel many emotions and land on beautiful loving caring gooey romance. You will not regret reading this book and its sequel. The only regret is that there are not more books in this series. The narrator for the Audible book was fantastic- she made the book that much better-
Wonderful story! I felt connected to Kaitlyn and Taylor immediately! They are perfect for each other! I fell in love with the characters , even the ones I wasn’t too sure about at 1st!! The characters are well developed , I feel like I know them! These are the kind of friendships we should all aspire to have! It has all the feels! They have ups and downs and tough choices to make, just like life! It’s heartwarming , charming , funny , it will put a smile on your face and last but not least they are so hot together!
This one just wasn’t really for me as it ultimately fell flat. I liked the characters and the concept was intriguing… but when there are multiple POVs, I typically prefer them to be more separated — whether it’s via chapters or even paragraphs… this one was a bit more all over the place with that and it made it difficult for me. I listened via audiobook, so maybe it’s different to read it on paper/e-reader — either way, while I think the writing was okay I don’t think I will pick up the sequel.
What i liked about the book was the idea of the story, although it was all a bit too u haul quickish for me. I was kinda annoyed at the pov story telling, normally i like reading from both sides but here i was a bit confused with who's pov i was reading sometimes.
Overall this is a quick, cute book. Not the best ive read but also not the worst
It was different than expected. At first it seemed too “steamy” “for me.” But then there was a lot of character development of both main characters that I really appreciated. Even the seemingly difficult exes were human. I liked the book and wonder what the sequel will like. I recommend it. Not my favorite but really surprisingly solid.
I really enjoyed the storyline and characters too. The guilt a person holds onto really holds a person back. Although, Kaitlyn and Taylor would not have found each other
