What happens when a connection comes along that makes you question who you are? A sexual awakening?
Tara Hunter is a passionate, headstrong doctor, heading up the ER at the prestigious City General Hospital. She is also a divorcee, about to turn fifty and whose only passion in life comes from your work. And then Gabriella Ellis (Gabby) rides into her department.
Gabby is a confident, outgoing, out and proud lesbian with a sharp wit, and a heavy amount of sarcasm. Playing by the rules isn’t Gabby’s forte; something which can land her in hot water but she is talented, compassionate.
When the charitable medical programme, offering emergency care for the most disadvantaged, comes under threat will they be able to leave their differences behind them to fight for a common goal?
This book is funny in a way They got together around 81% of the book and then had a 3 act breakup around 85%, what’s the point of getting together in the first place? And most of the book was them snapping at each other (Tara more than Gabby) 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄.
It was an okay read. In my opinion, the first one was way better and is the best of all three released books. Still haven’t felt the chemistry I felt between Chrissie and Sam (book 1) between any of the MCs of the other books.
Love is never easy but it's worth all the emotional ups and downs for the right person. This story was about Tara coming to terms with having feelings for a woman for the first time. Gabby is just the one to get under Tara's skin. There are a few hot scenes as well . I am going to be reading the next book in the series.
This installment had a lot of promise and I actually enjoyed it a lot - save a few things.
Good things - I liked both mains, Gabby and Tara are flawed but still mostly sound characters. They have the most NATURAL romantic progression of like any of the characters I have read from this author. ( I honestly really HATE when characters are literally yelling at each other and then all of a sudden we have nothing else to do with all this negative energy but makeout and fuck. I mean maybe it actually happens? But so unrealistic to me. )
Not good things *1 -there have been other things I’ve noticed but this book literally caused me to google if this author is an AI author. I didn’t do a deep dive but nothing quickly stood out. I mention that only because there are so many repetitive sentences that are next to each other or in the next paragraph. To the point that I was like…. Did they just repeat a paragraph by accident?*2 - Chapter two - page 13 on kindle literally has a sentence that is not broken up at all. It’s like all run on. There’s multiple splattering of typos and errors and there’s no way someone proofread or did any kind of editing of this. *3 - chapter fourteen - page 77 on kindle - Literally missing text. ………“Then don’t.” underlying “It is?” she asked weakly.
It literally just says underlying…. There’s a whole something missing here because the paragraph before and what comes after do not make sense. Who let this happen?
I actually think this should have been a bit longer than it was made out to be. The ending is rushed and the epilogue is uninspired. Would have been 8/10 but going with 6 / 10 instead.
Once again another hot couple in City General. I enjoyed this story just as much as the other books in this series. Tara the head of the ER determined to keep control and Gabby the new young hot cocky ER doctor. Gabby who is so frustrated with her boss and all she calls her out on and Tara who is finding everything about Gabby getting under her skin, keep clashing. Even though they both try and understand each other during some really tough incidents ultimately it comes down to one decision that can break them. The story unravels and comes together after a heartbreaking decision. I was glad to see a epilogue for this story available from the author otherwise the review might have been different. Great job Ruby Scott. On to the next installment of this series.
I can actually believe a story like this happening from experience!
Ruby Scott must have been hiding out in the ER in Waterbury! She would have seen first hand how Doctors, RN’s, PA’s and housekeeping staffs worked so hard to care for the poor in our community. The many love stories that happened around us was invigorating. I am so glad to have a story like this to share, it just makes me smile. The characters obviously are believable, as are the back stories! Ms Scott is a gifted writer for sure. If it weren’t for the many typo’s I would have given this 5 stars!
This wonderful age gap love story uses the emergency room service setting at City General Hospital. This is a slow burn romance. Dr. Tara Hunter heads up the ER. Gabby is a new hire who a compassionate, talented doctor. Both doctors want to save the charitable medical programme. Please read to see how lives can get turned upside down and hint... Spoiler Alert......Don't forget to read the epilogue!!
Dr. Tara Hunter, ER Chief, divorcée, is about to turn fifty. She runs a tight ship and is fiercely protective of hurt patients and her department. When her ex-husband and hospital chief forces a new doctor on her without her approval she is inclined to clash with Dr. Gabriella Ellis. As tensions grow, between two passionate doctors and women, Tara fights for her charity project and Gabby fight for her heart. Great Series.
Wow another fantastic heartfelt storyline I couldn't put it down it pulls you right in from page one the main characters chemistry was hot passionate loving heartfelt heated but amazingly well balanced.Ruby Scott another amazingly written book congratulations
When that moment calls then your destiny is already know, dont fight something which is different if it feels so good, embrace its difference and be proud of making that change. To Ruby I say thank you for allowing me into your life and showing that hospitals offer more than sterile atmospheres and a few kind words xx
Great romance awakening story. It’s never too late to discover the beauty and healing power of love. Love is timeless, not caring about age, profession, economic position or anything else we list on our minds as important and this story weaves it beautifully.
This age-gap, toaster oven romance was sweet, with characters that had great chemistry, and the majority of their relationship happened outside of their work. That was was a smart move instead of having medical errors in the writing that could have deterred from the story.
Tara and Gabby's love story starts out as near enemies. Tara is made to.try and earn Baby's respect. With mutual respect comes.the fireworks, we get to see their relationship grow, experience growing pains, and blossom.
A sweet romance that happens in the ER department. Tara is not sure how to handle coming out to fellow workers but Gabby waited for her. Just another day in the ER.
Beautiful story, extremely captivated. Likeable characters, a lot of emotions and intense scenes. A beautiful combination to keep the reader enthusiastic. Looking forward to read the other books of the series.
