After her father’s demise, Nadia bid goodbye to city digs to begin anew in her hometown of Alto, Georgia. Her brother had asked for her to assist in running the family business, Carlton Manor, the only funeral home in town. The quiet little burg panicked when a frat boy died suddenly. A few days later, Nadia and Detective Colsen were called away on their ‘date’ to discover a hearse painted Barbie pink with a dead body inside. Things only worsened when Uncle Joe disappears, and the first body had to be disinterred. Nadia and Sadie, investigate a poultry farm. Rebecca Shreve does a wonderful job as the narrator of this books giving the story more to all the characters involvement in the story. Nadia leave the city to begin a new job in her home town of Alto, Georgia. Nadia is now assisting her brother in the family business of the Carlton Manor Funeral Home that is the only one in town. Nadia finds out a lot of different things she didn't realize what happens in the business and also gets involved in solving a murder.

I loved this book. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, what could be better than one based in a funeral home. Tricks and turns and lots of humor. A most enjoyable read. I think this is going to be one of Sheila Hudson's best mystery series. I encourage you to explore all of her work.
