Lola Gabriel loves reading and writing paranormal romances. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, she has fond memories of retreating to the woods for long hikes. The towering evergreens, natural waterfalls, and soothing rain often set the scenery for her characters' romantic encounters.

Second Chance Alpha
Chessa and Noah were high school sweethearts. She knew he was a bear shifter and she didn't want him to have to watch her die because she is human. So Chessa leaves him so he can finds happiness with someone else like him. Noah let her go but knew she was the one for him. Now years later his parents are making him take a mate and he meets Raina. Raina is agreeing to the match because of her father's debts but she doesn't really want to mate with Noah. After they meet for the first time they run into Chessa who is back home taking care of her mother. Raina sends Noah on to Chessa because she believes in fate and that they are to be together. However when he broaches the subject with his parents they demand a blood test to see if she has a protein in order to safely change into a shifter. Chessa is kidnapped after the results of her blood test and Noah learns that she was taken to a Matchmaker. Will Noah's parents allow him to have his happiness? Will Noah save Chessa in time? What will happen with Raina?

Shifting Loyalty
Raina left her brand new pack to start her mission of tracking down Match Makers and stopping the harm they cause. Logan is in town to meet with a Match Maker because his pack wants him settled with a mate and with an heir. He comes into a bar and sees Raina and realizes she's a bear like him. They start talking in the bar and connect. They spend some time together over the next few days. When Logan learns that she is unmated he knows that she is his one and wants to be honest with her. So he tells her that he is in town to meet with a Match Maker. Raina is surprised to hear this and a little excited because she can stay close to Logan to find the Match Maker. Things heat up between them and soon its Raina that has to explain things to Logan. Will Logan forgive her for using him? Can they be together with Raina's mission goals?

Wolf's Secret
Brianna was trying to start over and put her abduction behind her. She took the money Raina and Logan gave her to move out of New York and start school in Nebraska. She meets some women on her first day of class and makes friends. What she doesn't know is that she is still in a dangerous place for any Match Maker to get her. Archer is the alpha of the wolves and he hates the Match Makers. So when one comes to him to convince him to leave her be and she would get him a mate he is livid. He doesn't go along like the Match Maker would like so she knows she needs to rethink her next move. Before she gets a chance Archer makes his move on her right in front of Brianna. He didn't expect Brianna to be knowledgeable about anything supernatural so he is stunned when Brianna asks him out right if he is a wolf and why he killed her new friend. She is shocked when she learns how close she was to yet another Match Maker. Things heat up between Archer and Brianna and even though he knows that she can't be his mate Archer still gives in. He doesn't know that Brianna has the protein that would allow her to safely change into a shifter. Brianna doesn't want to be a shifter and when things come to ahead she tells Archer everything that had happened to her. He is disappointed that she doesn't want to change but understands its the danger behind it that keeps her from wanting to do it. Is Brianna safe in Nebraska? What will happen between her and Archer?

Protected By The Dragon
Mitchell is arrested for the murder of his ex girlfriend. He didn't do it so he calls a friend to get him a good lawyer. Lexi is finishing up on a case when her boss gives her Mitchell's case to work on. Everything in his file shows towards his guilt but once she meets him Lexi knows he is innocent. Mitchell has an alibi for the time his ex was murdered but no human is going to believe it. One night Lexi is working on his case and falls asleep and she has a dream where she is kidnapped and a dragon saves her. Upon waking she knows that the dragon saving her is Mitchell. She go to him to ask him if he is a dragon and he tells her about the Match Makers. Lexi knows about them because of her sister and what happened to her. Will her dream come true? Will Mitchell be saved from going to jail?

Shifting Fates
Ellery is abducted and learns some harsh truths that she wishes she hadn't. When she is put into a shed like room with two other women she learns why they have been taken. They have a protein in their blood that will allow them to be changed into wolves. Grey finds the women locked up and is immediately drawn to Ellery. When he tries to get freed he gets caught. He knows that Ellery is his mate so in order to save her from a rogue alpha. Will turning Ellery do more harm than good? Will they be able to stop Keifer from getting more girls?

Fae Loyalty
Catherine was kidnapped by Fabian because of the protein in her blood. He told her that she could either accept her fate as his mate or he would make it very bad for her so she gave into her life with him. Biding her time trying to see if there was a way out. There wasn't however when she got pregnant she found a way to save her child. A friend she made in the local town pretended to be a midwife to help get her baby safely out. Thinking the baby didn't make and that Catherine can't have children anymore Fabian leaves her be. Polly takes the baby when she leaves and she moves away. Now years later the child is an adult and get her dream job back where it all started. Laila doesn't know why her mother doesn't want her to take the job but its what she wants so she takes it. Its not long before her life takes a turn that not even she could've foreseen. Cedric is pulled to the local bar one evening but doesn't know why until he sees Laila. Will Laila find the answers she was looking for in her new home? Can Cedric show her his the one for her?

Dragon's Clutch
Brianne is tired of her job nothing she does is ever right by her boss Valerie. Valerie is in the middle of yelling at her for yet another thing she didn't do up to Valerie's standards when Callin walks in. Callin is stunned by Brianne and knows when he sees her that she is his. Callin has been happy just acting and leaving Valerie being the alpha for the pack but when she starts butting into his life that's where he draws the line. He has no intention of being with Valerie like she wants especially when he has found Brianne and wants her. So when Valerie learns of their connection she will do whatever she needs to in order to keep them apart. What will Callin do when Valerie gets rid of Brianne? Will he be able to find her in time? What will they do to Valerie?

This is an amazing collection of stories that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Chessa left Noah when they finished high school but now she is back.
Chessa waited until after the prom and she and Noah had given each other their virginity to tell him she was leaving. Noah was an immortal bear shifter and Chessa was human with no known method of her being changed safely so she was leaving rather than have him watch her grow old and die. Nine years later Noah is being pressured into making an arranged marriage by the Alpha his father when Chessa returns to nurse her mother after a heart attack. It is different now as Noah knows that if Chessa has a certain chemical in her blood she can be turned and become his mate.
Shifting Loyalty
Raina heads for New York to start a new career of hunting the evil Matchmakers.
Bear shifter Raina Delaney has found what she wants to do with her life. After killing the evil Matchmaker Freya she feels she is meant to hunt and destroy these Matchmaker who kidnap human females who carry the protein Sanmere in their blood allowing them to become immortal mates for other immortals. She heads for New York where there is a report of a Matchmaker in operation and books into a hotel. When she goes to the bar for a drink she meets an Alpha Bear Shifter Logan from District 18 who she finds has come to meet with Chester the Matchmaker she is seeking and who feels like her Mate.
Wolf’s Secret
Brianna moves to the University of Nebraska to get away from what had happened in New York.
After Brianna Lake is rescued from the Matchmaker in New York she moves to the University of Nebraska to study medicine.On her first day while looking for the hall where the new students are due to meet she encounter Macey then Caroline also new . After the talk the three go for a drink and later unable to get a cab so Brianna spends the night on campus at Caroline's room. The two meet up later the next day and this time go back to Brianna's but as she unlocks her door a shot rings out and Caroline falls to the ground. When Brianna looks at the wound she sees black lines coming from the wound showing silver poisoning and realizes she has got involved with shifters again.
Protected by the Dragon
Mitchell Cole is falsely accused of murder and finds his lawyer is his mate.
After rescuing a young woman from a Matchmaker but the next day Alpha Dragon shifter Mitchell Cole finds himself accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend at the exact same time.When the top lawyer in the fire he hires hands off the case to a younger lawyer telling her to get him to plead guilty he meets Lexi Lord his mate.He gets her to believe him enough to look deeper into the case and she soon finds things that alarm her. He is unaware that Lexi's twin sister Chessa is a human turned Bear shifter due to carrying the Sanmere protein so Lexi is aware of the immortals around. When she notices a change in Mitchell's eyes she realizes he is an Immortal and that is why he has no alibi.

This brings together threads from the whole series and the fate of matchmaker Joshua.
Shifting Fates
When Ellery accepts a coffee from a strange man she finds herself mind control by Kiefer a warlock and a Matchmaker who finds women with Sanmere in their blood then sell them to shifters as they can be changed and become mates. Ellery finds herself chained in a cell along with two other women waiting for the Alpha of the wolf pack to change and mate them into his harem. Alpha Grey is afraid that the actions of Alex and his pack will attract the notice of the humans and that they will hunt and kill all the wolf shifters in the area including his pack. He goes into the other pack strong hold to gather information to use to return and challenge and kill Alex giving him control of his pack and their behavior. As he explores one the buildings he finds three women one of them he recognizes as his mate.
Fae Loyalty
After being told when she was eighteen that she was unable to have children she started to dream of being a teacher so she could be around children. When she gets accepted to teach in Greer and is asked to take over immediately she jumps at the chance. Walking home after her first day she is grabbed and shoved into a car and taken to a strange place in the mountain where she meets a man who claims to be her father. Fae Alpha Cedric had seen a woman in the pub which was the only place to get a cooked meal and he had known she was to be his mate but then he hears she had been pushed into a car and taken away.
Dragon’s Clutch
Brianne Ellison works for Valerie Steele due to a promise made by her grandmother and is the third generation to do so. She is currently working as assistant to Valerie who is a movie star but she constantly verbally abused and considers resigning. Callin MacKenzie had been a child when his parents were murdered and he was considered too young to take over his father's role as alpha dragon of district 106 so they choose Valerie the oldest of them to be temporary Alpha until Callin turns twenty- one but that time had past years ago and so far Callin has not wanted to be alpha. When Callin meets Brianne his dragon stirs and shows she is his mate but he knows Valerie wants him as her mate to keep control and the power of alpha.
Shifting Truths
Rachel was walking home from a dude date and is kidnapped by Lewis a Matchmaker who finds women carrying the Sanmere protein and sells them to shifters to produce female babies which the shifters had been cursed never to produce. She is told that usually the shifter buying them would change them but that the Alpha of District 212 only wants them to breed not be wives so Lewis changes them for him. When later he lets her go she runs not looking back. Eight years later she meets Bastian and goes to bed with him in a rush of emotion then finds herself pregnant so she knows he has to be a bear shifter. When she tries to trace Bastian she asks the man in the house she had seen him leave the day they met but Brady refuses to give out his number and as she gives him her number he lets slip that Bastian is the Alpha of District 212. She runs and leaves town.
Matchmaker Curse
Black Dragon Shifter Atlas Drayburn is summoned by his Alpha who tells him that the alpha of another group of shifters has asked for his help with a mission. When he arrives he is greeted by the legendary Matchmaker hunters Raina Delaney and Logan Prince who explain how he is part of the prophecy that will break the curse that has been on shifters for two hundred years. He finds himself headed to District 217 and the castle where the witch Esmerelda lives.

Alpha Temptation: Sanmere Shifters Romance Collection

Alpha Temptation by Lola Gabriel is a collection of 8 novels, an extended epilogue that ties together the first 4 semi-related novels, a collection of 4 unrelated novels, and a series conclusion novella (Matchmakers Curse). I’ll say at the outset that I haven’t the last series conclusion novella in the collection and I’m currently reading the last novel.

The common themes in all of the stories are (1) they all involve a Matchmaker and/or hunter; and (2) they all involve a human that possesses the Sanmere gene. Now, if you haven’t read any of Ms. Gabriel’s novels, you’re probably scratching your head and saying “Huh?”. I’ll explain:

A Matchmaker is an immortal being (it could be a wolf, bear, dragon, demon or any other kind of shifter; or a witch or warlock) who abducts human women that are capable of being “turned” into shifters and sells them to the highest bidder. It’s the Sanmere gene that permits these human women to be turned and only a very small percentage of the human population possesses the gene. Several hundred years ago, a powerful witch cursed all shifters so that they were unable to have female children. However, it was discovered that the humans with the Sanmere gene were capable of not only being turned into an immortal shifter, but they were able to bear female children. Therefore, they became a “commodity” that was extremely desirable to some shifters. Most shifters despised the Matchmakers and their usual unsavory practices; but if a shifter was desperate to find a mate, enough of them resorted to using a Matchmaker’s services that it was very profitable to the Matchmaker. The females had no say as to who bought them and whether or not the person was acceptable to them, even though the shifters resorting to this practice generally treated the woman like a precious queen. But it could mean that the woman would be spending eternity with a mate that no amount of time could make acceptable. A "hunter" is a human who it trying to eliminate all immortals. An immortal can be killed with "Ure", which is a rare dull gold looking metal, or with silver.

Although each of the books in this collection have this common theme, each book is different; enough so, that each has an interesting approach that holds your attention and makes the books exciting. In fact, I can’t recall another collection I’ve read that I liked as much as this one.

You’ll find that there is plenty of steamy sex in each novel if that’s your thing. There is also some swearing, so if either of those things are something you don’t like to read (and if you’re not willing to just skip over the sex scenes like I do most of the time), then this collection is probably not something you’ll enjoy. But if those things don't bother you, you'll love this collection like I do!

Even though I’m reading an ARC version, the books are pretty well edited, with only a small quantity of typos or incorrect word usage, generally getting him and her mixed up. The first book has some timeline problems, but I’ll send the author my notes that will show her the problems. But it’s entirely possible that the final version of the collection has fixed all of those problems.

Altogether, this is a great collection that you won’t be sorry to try. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves shifter novels and to those who have never read shifter novels, but would like to give them a try. You can’t go wrong with this collection!

*** Reviewing “DRAGON’S CLUTCH” ***
When his parents died, dragon shifter Callin McKenzie had technically become the “alpha” of his dragon pack when he was still a child. Because of his youth, Valerie Steel was given the temporary alpha position until he came of age.

Now that Callin is an adult, Valerie wants to make her position permanent by taking Callin as her mate. Callin, however, wants nothing to do with her. When he meets Valerie’s assistant, Brianne, he knows that she is his mate. But can he protect her from Valerie who will viciously fight to keep her power, regardless of what she has to do?

This was a good story, well-paced and with a bit of tension to keep the reader fully invested in the story. The characters were well-portrayed and interesting. What lengths will Valerie go to in order to retain her power! This is just one of the 10 books for your reading enjoyment. Grab your copy and read them in any order you wish. You’ll love these stories!

This box set is filled with intriguing stories, mystery, action, twists, romance and so much more. I have read and reviewed all of these books separately but here are a few of my reviews for some of the books in this box set.
Second Chance Alpha:
Noah and Chessa were high school sweethearts who broke up because of a big difference between them. Noah is an immortal bear shifter and Chessa is human. Rather than cause more pain for them, Chessa decides to move away. Years later she's back to care for her ailing mother and sees Noah again. The spark is still there. This is an entertaining story with great characters, suspense, twists and an ending that left me wanting more.
Shifting Loyalty:
When Raina hears about what the Matchmakers are doing to humans she decides it's her mission to take them out. Along the way she meets Logan, her mate, and uses him to get to the Matchmaker. This is an interesting story filled with mystery, action, suspense, romance and a great ending.
Wolf's Secret:
Wolf's Secret is book three of the District Shifters series and picks up where book two left off. If you have been reading this series then you know Brianna. In this book she's escaped NY and heads to Nebraska for med school but the Matchmakers don't give up that easily. This is an action packed entertaining story filled with suspense, danger, drama, romance and so much more.

In the world of the District, shifters are cursed and their female usually cannot have any young any more. For that reason they have to rely on a handful of human women, who have a special enzyme, called Sanmere. This enzyme allows them to become shifters and bear young to shifters. But as they are rare, and many shifters are desperate, there is a black market for these women and so called "matchmakers", who search for the women, kidnap them and sell them to the highest bidder or according to order.
But as not all shifters like the criminal way it is done, they fight the matchmakers. This is their story and how they and the women who had been caught in the net of a matchmaker thrive.
A great series - and here we have the whole story in one boxed set with the final scenes that you could not get otherwise. A saga in itself. Well-written and highly entertaining with enough variety to not get boring..

ALPHA TEMPTATION by Lola Gabriel is a ten book box set of the both the District and the Sanmere Shifters series all wrapped up into one book. This book is filled with exciting paranormal romances with well develped characters we've come to expect from this author. You'll quickly become engaged in these loosely connected storylines.

Due to a centuries old curse that prevents reproduction, all shifter species face extinction if they can't discover how to defeat the curse. Eventually, they realize that some human women carrying one specific protein, Sanmere, can be turned safely into a shifter, allowing them to carry a precious shifter child and of course, those that find their true mate along the way.

This is a great collection of love and retribution against evil. Although some of these stories seem a little short and hurried, I still recommend this box set to fans of shifter romances.

A curse to eradicate shifters. 200 hundred years ago a curse was put on the shifter community. No girl children would be born. And for 100 years in order to have a girl child, shifters had to pay a demon. Then 100 years ago a chemical in human women was found and they could successfully be turned into shifters and would bear girl children. Matchmakers evolved, stealing human women, caging them, and auctioning them off to be forcefully turned and become mates of shifters. But the women in these stories were rescued and found their mates. This is their stories along with the shifters hunting matchmakers, and the story of the witch who cast the spell and the steps taken to kill her and stop the curse. But is she evil or a victim also? And who was the mastermind of this evil and why?

Brilliant value


No matter if you have read some, all or none of thee stories individually having them all together in chronological order has made reading then so much more pleasurable. A very well written series with all the stories able to be read on their own but all have a link so the entire collection flows very well from one story to the next . More than enough differences so you dont feel you are reading the same thing over and over with just slight variations but great to catch up with some characters from previous stories along the way . If you like shifters, romance , adventure and action this is one set you really wont want to miss out on

In this series, having the Sanmere protein in your blood makes a possible mate for a shifter. Matchmakers are people who find single women with this protein, kidnap them and sell them to any shifter who can pay the price. In this series, you meet shifters who oppose this practice, those who are actively trying to shut Matchmakers down, and some escaped or rescued victims of the practice.
The series tackles a lot of issues like the new guards against the old guard, second chance love, and other tropes. The stories in this collection are adventurous and steamy and loosely connected through secondary characters.
This series will take you a fast-paced ride to adventure, love, and plenty of heat.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Alpha Temptation by Lola Gabriel is a collection of stories from the Sanmere Shifter world. I read most of these stories as they were released. I jumped at the chance to read this series again in this set because of the included series conclusion. These reads are all linked by the Sanmere connection, but each book can basically be read as stand alone. Sexy shifters, evil matchmakers, unsuspecting prospective mates, danger, love and tons of action make each of these reads addictively difficult to put down.

Supernatural mates

What a delightful collection of books filled with beautiful women and handsome Alpha males. Some of the women are human who can be turned as long as they have a special protein in their blood and they are the only ones who can have girls as shifters have been cursed by a witch. Female shifters can only have boys. Readers should enjoy reading these books and following the main characters who try to find a solution and rescue human women who have been kidnapped and sold so that females are born. I would heartily recommend these books to any who enjoy love and adventure in stories.

I loved this awesome set of books. They are so easy to get lost in. The characters are lovable and they don’t let you down. My favorite of the set was Wolf’s Secret. I so totally loved this exciting book. Brianna came to Nebraska to get away and feel safe, but that didn’t happen she didn’t seem to be able to stay away from trouble. I think Archer is a great character so protective and he can’t stay away from Brianna. So much chemistry, suspense, passion, and I loved it.

Now Chessa has to come back home for family problems. Noah has come back home because of family problems. Raina now is trying to find her mate. Now would be the time to get the book. Another great read in this series. This book has it all suspense, betrayal, loyalty, sexy dragon shifter and more. The story will keep you reading to see what happens next. The chemistry between the characters is amazing. This is the third book in this series. Looking forward to reading more.

Mates

When a curse limits the races without birthing girls Match makers come about by finding women with a special protein in their blood so change was possible. Abducted brides were sold to all shifter faction that could pay the steep price. One couple set about eliminating the Match maker in ach district until the Demon Queen is eliminated. Entertaining 4 stars - Each of the stories is ideal for reading as your day is winding down. The plots are simple to follow yet entertaining. Each book is short enough to read before bedtime. You really do not want to miss this set! It is really good and I am glad that the author put this together . Engaging and full of suspenseful love. Every story is written with emotion so that the reader is able to sit back and enjoy. It will make your kindle sizzle.

keeper series

It is a funny, sad, hilarious,freighting and wonderful series. It is a box set that is not usually my kind of reading. It was worth it. There are a few slow areas but, it is needed for backstory issues. So, be patient and keep reading. Is well worth it. Have a blessed, healthy, happy day.

The author has given us wonderful characters that pull you into their lives. Each story keeps you turning the pages until the very end. Even though the story ends, you are not willing to let go of the characters.
